The only thing which distinguishes humans and animals is the ability to think. We have this sense we call it consciousness or mind which none of the other living beings have and this made us god-like creatures. But humans made this blessing as a miserable thing and instead of making use of it, the mind is causing them distress and suffering.

This book is devided into 3 parts , and contains a lot of questions and also humorous answar to those in depth , and also in the last part there is Isha kriya on that and some info on the organization what they are doing and all .I liked the part where he told about the knee doctor and then the mahashri patanjali's definition of yoga . If you want to spend 30-40 mins and argue with your own mind then go for it and feel mind is magic or a circus and is it a ladder or well 😊😉 I loved it .

get high on life
this book entered my life at a crucial point as i dealt with substance abuse and procrastination which further pushed me into a lower self esteem and i suffered immense pain and unhappiness. Safhguru's words are humble and precise to cut through the confusion and chaos gathered in mind. though he had logic, he transpired it into experience and gave me a clear followable path to reinvent myself.
recommended for sceptics and purists both, a fun read, his wit and wisdom won't let you keep the book down. a most read for those seeking a way out of their own minds. -

I normally listen to Sadhguru's talks and expected this book to be just the documentation of what he has spoken in his videos. Ye, I was right! But the book contains all the topics related to Mind with all his talks combined and having those written in words, make it easier to analyze and understand, unlike his videos.
Books have complete talks involved with your Mind, what it is, and how you can take care of your wellbeing. I liked the book. Especially the final chapter where the entire Isha Kriya process is explained is good.
It's a simple and quick read and good to have in shelf kind of book. -
Small one but contains good philosophy. Majority of the book is the Q&A form, so not all can relate to all answers.
This author Explains his thoughts plainly to avoid the danger of going over the head of the readers.
This book don't explain anything in depth,but provides reasonable view on some important aspects which bothers us in the current world. -
I never liked his videos and quotes but loved the book. I might have become a Sadhguru Fan.

This is one of the best book on reading and controlling our mind. There are lot of aspects in this book which simply amazed me like meditation and yoga with its sheer power in shaping our lifes. Even though I was sceptical about this as a self help book believe me guyz it was really good content in such a short read.

It's a book that talks to you about how everything is inside your mind and what you should do to make it work in your favour and I'm sure most of the self-help books talk like that, but I found this one is a little different. I have heard Sadhguru's speeches and watched some video before reading this book so I knew what I was getting into. This book has some excerpts from interviews, I guess because it has questions that have been asked by people over a period of time and then their answers are given by Sadhguru.
My takeaway from the book was "not to identify myself with the surrounding" in order to stay away from the mess and keep my mind calm for a while. It isn't easy because you need to really think like that and given the circumstances it might feel selfish but sometimes you need to do things for yourself first, in order to help others later. I don't always agree with what he says despite the logical answers given by him because I don't think everything is just black and white as there are grey areas which need to be considered when the time comes. One needs to look at the context before taking any action; that being said, there were many things explained in the book to which I agreed without giving a second thought. Why? because it made sense. Give it a read when you feel heavy, it won't solve your problem but might help you understand yourself better. The problem will be there as it is constant at that moment but once you understand your reaction to it, it might bother you a little less. People who follow Sadhguru might be able to enjoy it even more. -
Nagging, distracting, and often negative thoughts can plague us daily. Sometimes it can be the same thought going around and around in our heads like a broken record. Other times it can be a succession of thoughts, one triggering another like falling dominoes. Either way, when we become aware of it, we see these thoughts have no basis in our present reality and we can become annoyed at their manifestation.
Thoughts can even bombard us in our dreams or when we wake up in the middle of the night. Has it ever happened to you that you woke in the middle of the night, glanced at the clock and were unable to get back to sleep due to a flood of thoughts pouring out of your head? Thoughts can run amuck when we think about our relationships, things we must do, future plans, what this or that person said, if only I had done or said something different. The possibilities are infinite. Can we ever learn to stop our thoughts?
In this book, Sadhguru explains how to gain respite from endless mind chatter.

I picked up this book to read something outside my favorites genres. This turned out to be quite an interesting read as I have my own perspective towards logical understanding / reasoning, devotion & human intellect & the link between the three. At places I was able to agree with his reasoning but at others I found Sadhguru's opinions completely foreign to my understanding. But ofcourse, it gave me something to reflect upon other than the daily chaos of life.

This book reminds me of a poem by Rabindranath Tagore:

And it shall be my endeavour to reveal these in my actions, knowing it is thy power gives me strength to act.”
I always take solace in listening to Sadhguru and recourse to his teachings and experiences every now and then; having listened to Sadhguru, my life becomes extremely agitated whenever I see nonsense flushing around sharing the flawed philosophies and shibboleths. I go berserk sometimes at people, of course not on their face, when they try to play prima donna by switching their ratiocinative minds (and apply their absurd logic), because ipso facto, I know they are nonsense. In this very book, Sadhguru raconteurs how to go “out of mind”; how to cut through anything effortlessly like a knife and at the same time disidentify with everything, so we don’t carry a chip on the shoulder anymore (I used this idiom in the sense, no baggage of past is carried). Sadhguru imparts the wisdom (not sure if wisdom is transferable) that our mind need not be controlled; it needs to be liberated. Unfortunately, people with their ratiocinative minds think that it should be controlled, which is why I called these folks nonsense. Sadguru, in this book, says, moments of extreme logic are moments of suicide; if we think hundred percent logically about life, there is really no reason to live; but if you look at one beautiful moment of your life's experience, suddenly everything is sparked up and you want to live; the logical aspect of life and the experiential dimension of life are diametrically opposite each other. Furthermore, Sadhguru presents a way to distance oneself from both mind and body. To know what it is, better read the book, meanwhile, I try this kriya in the hope that it works! -
The author of the book is a spiritual teacher. His teaching message to the world and especially to those who are seeking peace and wisdom within themselves is the separation concept. The separation concept is that one's mind and body are both separate entities. The author states that all the suffering in Human beings is because of the union of the body and the mind. It simply means to enjoy life fully, our minds has to be separated from the body, as if the body is 6 feet behind our mind. The necessity of the separation is because the human body can take on different identities. It can take on religious, racial, ethnic, geographic, nationalism identities, etc. For example, once you identify yourself as a Muslim, your mind unconsciously would start defending its Muslim identity against any opposing thoughts/ ideas to your religion. Then you will start suffering from these defense mechanisms as it would cause anger and rage within yourself. But lets say, you identify yourself just as a human, no matter how many opposing thoughts you are encountered with, you live peacefully. Because your mind is separate from your identity, your self wouldn't feel forced to defend it self, you live peacefully.

The book is a collection of Sadhguru's speeches about the mind. He argues your brain is just an organ not your mind. Your mind is actually a collection of your past thoughts and experiences. He talks how you should keep your mind under control and use it only when needed.
For someone like me who tends to overthink every small decision, this book was a great reminder to 'simply go with the flow'
I am not a fan of self help books and picked this one up only to pass tine during my 10 day isolation period.

Whole life we can remain a servant of mind without realizing it. There is famous proverb mind is a wonderful servant but worst master. We never think what we are? Mind, body or soul. This book definitely will raise this question in your mind. Once we realized we are not the mind and body then we can try to control it. One thing is very new in this book regarding mind that is Sadhuguru never talked about to give so much focus on controlling mind instead he freely praises the concept of freedom or free thought. He made very simple to understand in this book what mind actually is?How it cheats and controls us.
This book is worth to read but don't expect too much from it. -
The book is good. Short and informative read. It has few anecdotes to explain the mind concept. We have established a lot of attachment with the Physical body but the body is just the accumulation of the food we eat and the mind at present is an accumulation of all of our thought processes. One needs to live in present moment liberated from past experiences. Setting the mind free of all delusions. We all can gain an intellect which is far more superior than what we think intellect is which can be obtained with meditation and yoga. One can extend the boundaries of mind and body into the dimensions unexplored. It talks about actions and not contemplation.

Though the wisdom contained in the answers might sound familiar from several of Sadhguru's talks available on the Internet, this should not discourage someone curious from going ahead and reading the book. The answers are profound, and every time you read and reflect, you are likely to find subtle new meanings... A gem of a book about the human mind and its role in our lives...

This is very concise, clear, crisp, practical and life changing knowledge about our mind.
It tells that what we perceive is not reality and to see reality one must rise above mind.
It explains in a lucid way how we may train our mind to come out of eternal conflict of our conscience.
There are nice stories and examples. Main points are presented in Q and A pattern.
It explains power of yoga and teaches Isha kriya for distanting yourself from mind and body and to perceive reality as it is.
Certainly lot to learn about path to eternal peace. -
It was always in my awareness that "me" is different from the body and the mind, but this book definitely gave a shift in perspective as in how you don't have to work according to the accumulation of the experiences in your life stored in your mind.
It helps you look in a different way, that you need to empty out all the accumulations in your mind and make the mind work for you.
Mind you, Sadhguru also thoroughly elaborates on how detaching, controlling and liberating the mind works in different ways. -
