The Last Escape (The Last Survivors #2) Reviews

I'm torn. I'm loving the story, the characters, and the world, but I'm not enjoying the cliffhanger endings. Or maybe I am enjoying them but it doesn't seem "right". With that said, I really want to read the next one!

  • Mark Burns

Never really adored any of these but became quite addicted -- just wanted the plot to go someplace but it seemed to dole out the satisfaction with a demitasse spoon -- ultimately not totally worth my leisure time so I stopped after 3 or 4 or 5.... I lost count and quit just like I did smoking. Never again!

  • Carisa Burns

The first one was very interesting but it fizzled out for me towards the end so I was really hoping it would pick up in the second book. I just couldn't get into it. There was alot of time roaming around the forest and the relationships just didn't mean much to me. I wanted to know more about the creatures and it seemed like maybe there was going to be some sort of meaningful discovery about them but it was just moving too slowly for me to get to the real meat of the plot. I feel like first and second book could have been condensed into one.

Another excellent installment of this dystopian series, where familiar characters face the brutal rule of Blackthorn and Winthrop.

This story is filled with hypocrisy and chauvinism, with the very few taking it all while the rest suffer...nothing really changes, does it?

I love how we follow the story from many points of view so to unravel the plot and engage with each of their lives. The demon factor is intriguing and through William, I hope we get a greater understanding. I would agree that 'demon' depends on your point of view...wants constitutes 'evil'?

    Well-written, fast-paced and a real page turner.

    Highly recommended.

    Another Great Read

Bobby Adair can definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.

William and his mother Ella are still fleeing Blackthorns soldiers with Bray as their guide and protector. They find devastation at the town they were heading to and now are tracking survivors. Will they find them in time before the soldiers and beasts do?

This one was a little slower then I thought it was going to be. However with the twist and turns it took it made for a quick read. But it keeps me asking what is going to happen between bray and Ella? Does William understand that he is not going to turn into a monster. That he is becoming smarter because of his turn. Excited to start reading the next one!

    4 stars!

The Last Escape is the second book in A Dystopian Society In a Post Apocalyptic World Series. It continues with the stories of Ella, William, Bray, and the settlers in Brighton. This book is a good addition to the story and we are introduced to a few new characters. I can’t wait to start reading the next book in the series.

Theses books are getting better. I found it a lot more enjoyable and plan to continue the series. The characters are coming into there own, I was hopeful that the book would focus more the infected, but they just seem to be a side story. All the action is mainly between the humans, which is okay but I would like more zombies. 3,5 stars and on to book 3!

  • Martin Galvin

The book is part 2 of a series and it very much feels that way. The majority of the characters have been introduced to us and in this instalment they trundle on. The sequences are good and the book maintains the intrigue and intermingled plotting that characterised the first. Some characters haven’t really developed since the earlier book and this takes away some of the enjoyment.

  • Shirley McAllister

    Breighton

Most of this book is about Breighton, the minister Winthrop and the others that administer the city with a bit on Bray, Ella and William and some on Ivory. It was okay, not as good as book one but I still want to see how the story ends so I am off to purchase book 3.

  • Caleb Huff

Just dumb... The characters are not deep, the storyline is weak, just constantly running away and running into monsters that aren’t even scary. Seriously, one of the worst written series I’ve ever read.

  • Maryanne

A good move to the story. Starting to skip through some of the elongated forest descriptions and I maintain the whole series could use a good editor but I'm intrigued enough to find out what happens to some of the characters including Oliver, William and Beck.

  • Mark

When I started the guest in the series I wasn't sure how far I'd get through that book let alone any others in the series, but I'm now invested in the characters, some more than others... and so on to book 3...

  • Cathy Custer

    Another great one!

I love this series! It's page turning good! I can't get enough. I can't wait to see how these disgusting women abusing jerks get their payback!

  • ♥ Marlene♥

Still enjoying it although there are quite a lot of characters and plot stories and not all are interesting. Definitely going to grab book 3 now in bed. Reading time... YEE HAW 3.5

  • Tristen Ashchi

I couldn't put it down. It just sucked me in.

  • Amber C

Damn cliffhanger endings that leave you scrambling to find the next installment

  • TheGood ByeGirl

    Enjoying this.

  • George

    I'm in.

  • Kim Clarke

Ill give it a 3.5, a little slower than book 1 but hopefully setting up for something big. Lot's of plotting and intrigue, reminding me of Game of Thrones as you win or you die a horrible death.

  • Mark Heath

    Great read

  • Elaine M Bak

    Awesome

I absolutely love these characters and the story. I’m looking forward to all of them coming together. I cannot wait to start the next book!

  • Bambi Campbell

I don’t know …. It’s got a lot of filler in it. So much unnecessary info but I’m gonna scooch on over to book 3 & see what happens.

  • Essay

I'm enjoying this series so far

I will acknowledge that my 3 stars may be because this is not my preferred genre. It bored me to tears and confused me a little.
