What happens when Mel runs for Sheriff, an Amish girl runs away from home and Dana runs – er, limps - for cover? Can anything else possibly go wrong for these two ladies of law enforcement? Sure it can and it will!
Can the two sometimes lovers work it all out once and for all and finally have a happy life together or will more crime, murder and mayhem get in the way?
This book is great together with Books 1 and 2 to get all of the Dana and Mel back story but it can also be read as a stand-alone mystery.
CONTENT ADVISORY: This third installment of the Morelville Mysteries series contains erotic scenes between consenting adult females. If that is distasteful to you, please consider reading something else.

The prologue for this book is a repeat of sections from the last few chapters of the previous book, but from Dana’s point of view. If this had been integrated into the last book I would have found it interesting, but not after I have already finished that book.
The main story starts when Dana’s ex turns up, but the ‘Terri’ story became irritating very quickly, I didn’t understand why Dana suddenly became so stupid. However, what really worried me was it was obvious where this story was going and as I normally hate plots based on framing somebody, it wasn’t something I was really interested in reading.
I did finish the book and the story wasn’t as bad as thought it might have been, but I didn’t like it as much as the previous two books. No doubt many readers will have really enjoyed it, but it just wasn’t for me. -
More Morelville happenings, but from Dana's life and point of view
SAPPHIC BOOK BINGO: established couple, not a romance, out of your comfort zone, full-time writer, character with a disability; UNICORN: more than 2 POVs, twins (possibly other categories)
Previously, the series had mostly been from first person in Mel's point of view, but Dana finally got her turn. Unfortunately, she had a lot to deal with emotionally, physically, and legally. It bled over into Mel's election attempt, and her corrupt competitor took full advantage with a smear campaign against her.
I have really liked the series, but there were slightly above average grammar and punctuation errors, like the earlier books. The great plot and usual ensemble of characters added to the reliability of the otherwise well-written novel. -
Ask me! Go ahead, ask me why I'm just waking up at 3 in the afternoon. Anne Hagan! I blame her! The third book is the charm-er! I couldn't stop reading once I started. Granted I started after midnight, but the rest I blame on the author!
There are some hot, hot, hot scenes! Whew! Equal to those is the story that never stops. I feel the two main characters are now well fleshed. Oops, not the word I wanted. Well-developed, hm, that doesn't say it quite either. Real. Yes. That's it! They're real. I feel I know them well, like friends. Strong, smart people keep the three books moving but, this one is the very best of all.
Oh, and for those not given to enjoying the erotic moment or two, there is enough action and on the edge-of-your-seat excitement, well, to keep you from putting the book down and going to sleep when you should!
The sad part? I have to wait until Ms. Hagan give us another! And I can see the direction of the flow of Dana and Mel's lives. They are alive, right? They aren't just in my imagination. Right?!
I want to thank Amazon for having this book and others on Kindle Unlimited. I can't always afford books now that I have "retired" (read: disability). I just hope that the author gets paid well when they allow the use of KU.
Again, way to go, Anne Hagan!!!!!! -
Happy to see this book!
This is the third book in the Morelville series but it works as a stand alone as well. In this story Dana has been framed for murder and goes to ground in effort to find the real killer before she is locked up indefinitely. Mel is fighting her own battles with the homophobic villain and other things not to mention trying to clear Dana's name. To make things worse her lady is out there somewhere alone and unreachable....what if the killer decides to do away with her as well.
This is a really good light mystery. Enough to keep you invested but not so dark it makes your tummy hurt. It quickly grabbed my attention and held it while making me feel like I was a part of the story. I feared for Dana, was captivated by Mel's situation and anxious to see what would happen next. They are such an easy couple to love.
I have not read the first in the series but I will definitely go back to see how they started their journey. -
FourStars
This third book in the Moreville Mysteries just proves what a versatile and entertaining writer Anne Hagan is. The third book in the series is totally different from the previous novels. Here we are faced with the relationship between the two woman, how it is progressing, how it effects each of them professionally and how each of them handles the relationship under dangerous conditions.
The tensions and the suspense continues but greater emphasis and expression is placed on the woman's relationship.
Once again though this novel is yet another piece in the overall bigger picture, as yet not completed. An enjoyable mystery wrapped up in a passionate and honest love story, with yet another hint of things still to come, still to be discovered still to be dealt with.
A good stand alone book but one which promises of much more still to come.
I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.

Best yet
I thoroughly enjoyed this installment of The Morelville Mysteries. It is the best of the series so far. For background of the characters, I recommend reading the first two installments. Great story. Looking forward to more adventures with Mel and Dana. -
Dana’s Dilemma (The Morelville Mysteries, #3) — Anne Hagan (Prologue + 32 chapters) July 10-11, 2018
This story, third in the series, centered mostly on Dana. It starts pretty much immediately after book two, where Dana is dealing with some flashback memories dealing with her injury during the line of duty from book one. There is hardly any mention of her sister Kris or her parents; a new character was introduced, who I hope will be in the next book.
Plot: when another person, a ne’er do well named Troutman, enters the sheriff’s race at the last minute, Mel decides to run. One of her detectives, Kelly, causes trouble for the sheriff and her girlfriend which leads to putting Dana in personal and mortal danger. An ex shows up to complicate Dana’s new found happiness. A new friend is wrapped up in the trouble. As the pieces fall into place, can Mel find Dana and the friend before it’s too late?
This book was fast paced and though it contained some sexy bits between two consenting women, it mostly is about plot. It was hard to put down and really engaged my attention. The chapters were short enough and each one ended in a place that made me want to continue to read.
There still is edit issues in this book, but it is getting slightly better. Remember this is a self-publishing independent writer. It was well worth the time reading past the mistakes to get to the end. Best story in the series yet!
Four stars. -
Can't get enough of Mel and Dana's adventures! Again I loved Anne Hagan's great storytelling and am glad she has decided to delve into the growing relationship between the ladies in a more descriptive fashion. It is a great love story and is all the better for it.
As long as she keeps writing them I'll keeping buying them! -
Wow! One, I did not realize the number of books in this series. I'm on the 3rd and I'm already upset again with the twist and turns of this one. I will read/hear the next one to see if I want to continue or call it at this next one.

An ex-girlfriend comes into town and throws Dana and Mel's life into chaos and murder.
Dana's Dilemma is the best so far of "The Morelville Mysteries" by Anne Hagan. The story focuses on Special Agent Dana Rossi and her decision on what to do with her career after having been severely injured in Book One and reinjured in Book Two. While deciding, Rossi gets a visit from her ex-girlfriend who tells her an outlandish tale of the mafia and crime and infers that Rossi herself is about to become a victim. Unfortunately for the ex, the next scene has her murdered instead and Rossi on the run from murder charges. In the mean time, Sheriff Mel Crane, and Rossi's girlfriend, is caught in the middle of the case and a re-election campaign. Her opponent is using the charges against Rossi and Crane's relationship with Rossi as a smear campaign against Crane. Then a girl goes missing...can she be saved with everyone running around trying to save themselves?
Exciting, right? This book is exciting and I could not put it down. Hagan had me hooked and the mystery was solid. There sex scenes were more a little more explicit than in the previous books which I liked, but still in the PG-13 to Rated R range so nothing that will make you overheated. The progression of Crane and Rossi's relationship was natural and Hagan makes the time to give readers a solid relationship. Do you have to read the first two books to enjoy the third, I do not think so as Hagan does a really good job of explaining what happened to Rossi, but you do have a more invested in the relationship if you do. Plus, there is no time lost between the books as they pick up right where the last book left off. Overall, no matter what you decide you can not go wrong with picking up Dana's Dilemma - let me take that dilemma off your hands (smile).

Dana’s Dilemma is the third of the Morelville Mysteries. We see more of Dana in this third book and learn more of her past. Her ex-girlfriend Terri turns up and asks for Dana’s help. While Mel is busy with the Election for the Sherriff. The relationship between the two women continues to grow and blossom. Realistic characters that makes it easy to like and care about.
I was bit worried about the trouble Dana and Mel were getting into, I was afraid they wouldn’t get out of it, that’s what makes it a good crafted mystery thriller. Lots happening with Fast-paced action, mystery and suspense. Good enjoyable story well written. I recommend this book. -
Wow...
These two cannot catch a break. I love the storyline and the characters. One of the things I like the most is...is that there always seems to be two mysteries going on but then end up tying into each other. I plan on recommending this book.
