  This was incredibly, horribly beautiful.
  A story about love and sacrifice, the suffering of women and the meanness and treachery of some men in Afghanistan during the Soviet and civil war.
  There was a roller coaster of emotions this book made me go through!
  
  Khaled Hosseini's writing style is unique! it makes you relate to the characters like nothing else and his books are impossible to put down.

  A Thousand Splendid Suns written by Khaled Hosseine,an Afghan born American writer, is a fiction of two strong Afghan women Mariam and Laila who face all odds such as abandonment,early marriage,harassment by their husband and suppression of women during the Afghan war.Even at the point of starvation,fear and oppression they form a beautiful mother and daughter bond.How these two brave women free themselves and find their destiny forms the plot of the story.The powerful portrayal of human relationship and their emotions by Khaled Hosseine moved my heart.This gripping tale which pounds the heart of the reader at every pace is a must read.
