3.5 Sexy MMA Fighting Stars
He was trouble, and I was the new toy he wanted to play with until it broke. I had no doubt it wouldn't take much for him to break me, but I didn't care. I'd be left with all the broken pieces with no clue how to put myself back together, but the trade-off might be worth it.
My first thought when I saw this book?
Holy shit, that cover!!!
I'm a total sucker for a hawt MMA fighter book, so once I was finished drooling all over that cover, I jumped at the chance to read this one. This was my first book by the author, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. If I'm being honest, I'm always scared when a book has a super hot cover, since the actual story rarely lives up to the promise. But I was certainly not disappointed here. I really enjoyed this book. There were a few minor issues that kept me from LOVING it, but I liked it a whole hell of a lot.
Bethany Bazile managed to capture my interest from the very first chapter. She starts the book going straight for your feels, and damn did it hit mine.
Alexis Cole is no stranger to tragedy. In one night she lost everything that's she ever cared about. Now she's in a haze of sorrow, not sure if she'll ever see the light.
Ryder has always wanted Lexi, but he also knows that he can never have her. He fights the connection between them, but he can't help but try to save her from drowning in her grief.
Now three years later, fate and meddling parents throw them into each others' path again. But this time, the connection is just too strong for either of them to fight it.
Lexi knows that Ryder is bad news. He's a heavyweight MMA champion, sexy as sin, and is definitely not lacking for women. But she can't help the scorching sexual tension that only gets hotter each time they are together.He was cocky and arrogant in a way that aggravated me, but sexy in a way that excited me.
His perfectly sculpted facial features were breathtaking, yet scary. Scary in an "I'm bad medicine" kind of way. The kind that promises you a cure for your suffering, only to get you addicted to something a lot worse that the original pain.
If you're looking for a steamy book, this one delivers in spades!
Ryder was one deliciously sexy dirty talker, and I couldn't get enough of him.
I won't give you much more of the story, because I wouldn't want to spoiler anything. But I can tell you that I like a good story to go along with the hot sex, and this one definitely delivered on that end.
So what kept it from being a 5 star read? A few things.
I found the dialogue to be choppy and confusing at times. There were times when I had to go back and re-read the sentence because I wasn't quite sure who was talking since dual dialogues would be in one line."I'm going to take a shower."
"Asshole." I laughed. "Oh yeah, that's how I like it. Are you mad?"
There were also a few lines that were definitely on the cheesy side and had me rolling my eyes."Please..." I pouted.
"There it goes. You haven't changed after all."
"What?"
"You're pouting and trying to get your way. If I let you see my dick then you'll want to touch it and then you'll want to put your mouth on it, and how the fuck am I supposed to say no to that?"
I think the author meant for it to be funny (maybe) but for me, it just didn't quite work"That's right, baby. Who's the champion of this pussy?"
"You're the fucking king of this pussy."
I loved that this was in first person POV, and we got both Lexi and Ryder's. But there were also times I felt like the story was being told to me as opposed to shown with some unnecessary explanations.Shit. I'd been angry and said it in a way that made it seem like I'd used her, which wasn't the case.
Now all that aside, this was still a great book. It was steamy, with an added element of suspense, and a great story to boot. It may not have been perfect, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would gladly read any future book from this author. I do tend to be a picky bitch when it comes to my books, so some of the things that bothered me in this one may not even bother most readers. If you're looking for a scorching hot MMA book, I would definitely recommend this one.

Ryder's pierced cockRyder to Rock My World Stars!!Can I just say this book totally took me by surprise! The cover is soooo hot that my cover lust had me buying this baby right up. Ryder Hayes is a sexy, scrumptious MMA fighter and a stud in the bedroom. He's pierced for your pleasure gals & he hasn't had an unsatisfied customer yet. Ryder's family was broken apart when he was a teenager and he hasn't forgiven is Father. Alexis, Lexi, Cole is broken and devastated after a traumatic event in her life. Lexi doesn't trust guys and won't let them touch her heart but that doesn't keep her from enjoying a little fun between the sheets.
Speaking of between the sheets, these two have sexual tension that radiates off your e-reader's screen. When they finally get it on, the sex is explosive!! So explosive you may find yourself doing this......
I'm feeling lazy so just check my status updates and you'll see how much I enjoyed the book! You won't be disappointed picking this steamy read up but it will leave you needing a release.......if you know what I mean!!

My first read by author Bethany Bazile, Fight For Me was an enjoyable read despite some pacing issues, clichés, over dramaticness, and abrupt choppiness in the writing.
The story deals with relatable subjects such as: love, loss, despair, and healing; as well as second chances and finding happiness.
After a tragic loss, Alexis Cole feels as if her world is torn apart. Numb and filled with guilt, she makes a life threatening lapse of judgment only to have a *tattooed, muscular, and pierced* UFC heroine that she's always held a torch for save her and shove his way back into her life.
So Ryder.
Jilted after learning the betrayal of his own father, Ryder Hayes swears to steer off all contact with his old man until ownership of his family gym is at stake. With the deed in his father's and late uncle's names, Ryder returns home only to have a chance encounter with Alexis, the girl he's always wanted but never claimed.
Now thrown back into her life, Ryder reaches his breaking point and must make a decision: to do what he's always done and let go the girl of his dreams? Or to give in once and for all and fight for her?

am I the only one who didn't like this book that much??
Ok, if you guys know I HATE cheating, with a freakin passion. It's an irony that this book is called fight for me when there was a lot of cheating in here.
I mean I think there was cheating, this is the type of book that I read but the words just kind of go right past my brain and doesn't really click, so hopefully I get everything correct.
the number of cheating that goes on listed... now: (obviously there's spoilers)
1) we find out that Alexi's bf cheated on her with her roommate
2) Ryder's father cheats on his mother with Alexis's mother. So David, ryder's father, divorces her, and marries Vanessa, Alexis's mom.
3) When Alexis finds out about the deal Ryder made with David, she gets super upset obviously, but it was Ryder who goes and kiss Leah. Sure it was a goodbye kiss, BUT IT SEEMED LIKE SUCH A PASSIONATE GOODBYE KISS. You love Alexis, why would you use tongue for a goodbye kiss. just uggghhh
so of course what do I do, when all this shit happens?? I skim the rest of the book. -

All I could think while reading was incest, incest, incest. Nearly every scene with them together made me cringe. I know they're not actually blood related, they're step brother and sister. But my first impression was that they are brother and sister, and so, my brain won't shut up about it. If it wasn't incest, I could probably read it, and would of probably given it three stars. But there is incest, so here's two stars.
Regardless of the incest, the writing style is choppy, but bearable. The scenes progress really quickly, where they're seeing each other again(the first time in three years), then BAM foreplay and steamy scenes. It seems strong feelings also. I also seem to be missing out on some of the plot, as I often have no idea what is going on, nor why.
The scenes where they're together are hot, but most definitely cringey. There my brain goes again INCESTTTTT

When it comes to books where the male character is some sort of fighter, I tend to be disappointed. And then become pissed off because I want & need a good fighter romance.
Thank the person who created chocolate that this book most definitely did not disappoint!
Ryder is such a "I want to have your babies" male.
Honestly, from get go you want to jump him and have his babies!!!!
This book has everything you need and want in a New Adult book.
You start with the cheating dirt bag boyfriend.
Then the terrible accident.
Then the repercussions of said accident.
Enter in Ryder who saves the day.
Then Ryder leaves.
Then we skip 3 years.
Ryder returns!
Commence the game of sexual frustration.
And when they finally do......
And also don't forget the stoopido ex girlfriend who you want to punch to the moon!
Alexis Cole as a lead character had her flaws but they were real.
You felt connected to her and wanted her to have her HEA.
And Ryder, by god was he just hoxy (Hot & sexy rolled into one)

And there were many funnies!

As you can tell I am not great with words, but I am hell on wheels with GIFs and they were the surest way of expressing what I felt.
This story had little tiny eenie weenie bits that could have been that slightly better BUT for a debut story it was effin amazing!
It had the right amount of Drama, Sad, Happy, Sexy and everything else we readers love in a New Adult book.

Ryder Hayes is a UFC fighter. He is training to keep his championship. To his surprise his gym is part owned by his father when his uncle passed away. He is not on speaking terms with his father since he left them and married Lexi's mom, but he must confront him since Ryder wants his dad to sign away the rights to the gym.
Alexis "Lexi" Cole lost so much in one night. She discovers her boyfriend is cheating and even something worse happens to her. Thanks to Ryder, she is still alive but they lose touch for a few years. Ryder can't forgive Lexi's mother for stealing his dad.
When Lexi's mom and Ryder's father leave on a trip they want Ryder to keep an eye on her in exchange for releasing the rights to the gym. Ryder has tried to stir away from Lexi for years but he is done fighting his feelings. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy with their relationship.
I really liked this one. I'm a sucker for fighters and falling hard for the heroine and this one made me very happy.
Ryder is a good son but once he knows what he wants he is not easily deterred.
I like that Lexi listens at the right time and she doesn't jump to conclusions. I know this can't be the end to this series. Another character deserves a book.

This was a pretty good story. I liked Ryder and Alexis and liked seeing them get together even if the road to happiness was a little on the rocky side. This is the first book I've read by this author and I liked it well enough that I'll consider trying more of her work in the future.
Alexis is a twin but she lost her twin-brother under very tragic circumstances. She was in a very bad place when Ryder helped her past it. Alexis pulled her life back together but Ryder didn't stick around and she's had trouble finding anything to get excited about in her life.
Ryder is an UFC fighter and has won and retained the championship for a couple years. He was marked by a bad breakup between his mom and dad which caused him a lot of anger with his dad resulting in their estrangement. Ryder and Alexis (and her twin Alec) had been friends when they were younger but their friendship ended because of Alexis and Alec's ties to Ryder's dad
After Alec died, Alexis wasn't in a good place. She recovered but hasn't really been happy and has put on a happy face for those around her. She tries to keep her family from worrying but they don't really fall for her facade. Ryder sees Alexis for the first time in years when he goes to see his dad about some business for the family gym. When her family notices that her reaction to Ryder shows the first signs of excitement in a long time they try to entice Ryder to keep an eye on her while they're gone (they're leaving on an extended vacation). Ryder says no way and leaves but the next night he meets a friend at a bar and Alexis is there. Alexis has a bit too much to drink and Ryder starts getting all caveman and protective over her. He's soon thinking that maybe Alexis actually does need someone to look after her.
Ryder's sure that getting involved with Alexis is bound to end in him hurting her so he's been avoiding her...well most of his life. Now that she's around him a lot he's having problems remembering to keep his hands off, especially when she does what she can to entice him to touch. Alexis has been in love with Ryder since they were young and she's interested in getting involved with him but in her fear of being hurt she only wants it to be sexual and no emotions. I'm not sure how she thought this would work since she's been crushing on him for 10 years but whatever. TBH, Alexis was a bit overly naive at times. It wasn't too bad but there were times I was trying to figure out what the hell she was thinking. After some mutual drama and Ryder acting like a jerk, him and Alexis eventually get together. There's some trouble as they try to work through their relationship as they encounter issues from a jealous ex, a hateful mother, wannabee boyfriends and a psycho stalker. Thankfully they both come through in 1 piece (or maybe I should say 2 pieces since there are 2 of them?) and end the story with a sweet HEA.
I enjoyed this story. Although I had issues with both Alexis and Ryder at times I liked them overall and was happy to see them end up together. There was a lot of drama in the story and in a way it was both good and bad. Bad because there was so many people that could have been causing the danger that it was almost confusing at times trying to figure out who was doing what and their true motives. Good in the way that it kept things interesting and the drama wasn't over the top and annoying. Overall, I liked the story...especially the ending (have a few tissues handy). I'd recommend this story. :D -

Absolutely ADORED this book from the heart wrenching prologue to the tongue wagging epilogue! I've had this sitting in my library for a few months, completely forgot about it until last night.
Alexis Cole and Ryder Hayes are me new fave couple. And they aren't just your traditional couple...let me explain.
We meet Lexi in college, in the prime of her life. Only to have her world shut down in front of her when her boyfriend, Logan, confesses to sleeping with her best friend. Lexi did not even give it a second thought - she was done.
Calling on her twin brother, Alec, to come rescue her from smashing Logan in the face, her world completely shatters in a matter of minutes.
Tragically, something happens to Alec that sends Alexis' world in a whirlwind of trauma.
Not being able to move on from her twin being taken away from her while he was on a mission to come get her, Lexi does the unthinkable...she decides to do something to end her pain.
Luckily, her motive is being watched upon by Ryder Hayes, Lexi's step brother.
Ryder sees Lexi diving to descrution and rescues her,putting his health at risk as a MMA fighter.
Ryder and Lexi have always had an attraction between them, going back to the age of thirteen. They used to be close, but then lies and deciet of their parents leave Ryder saying sayonara to his family and friends.
Fast forward three years after the night of descrution...
Ryder is back in town and Lexi cannot believe the man standing in front of her. He's ripped, hot and so freaking sexy I had to say a "damn" out loud.
I was thirteen when I first set eyes on Ryder Hayes, and I knew, even then, I had to have him. My schoolgirl crush was intense and apparently had not simmered down over the years.
Lexi is also not the same girl Ryder last saw three years ago. She was full blown woman and he had to fight himself internally from jumping on her upon first glance.
I never saw Lexi as a friend or a sister. She was a threat from day one, and I kept her at bay by pushing her away.
After Lexi's mother and father devise a plan to have Ryder keep an eye on her while they are away, it is on and popping from there!!
The sexual tension between them is CRAZY. The fact that neither of them holds back on letting the other know exactly how they feel is just PERFECT. I hate when characters prolong their attraction, finally caving in to their desires like 3/4 of the book. I want action fast and hard, and oh my, Ryder did not fail to deliver!!
Of course you have your haters who tried to put a wedge between them and I appreciated the way these instances were handled.
Although he was a total alpha, Ryder had his sweet moments...
You have all of me, Lexi. You want my heart; it's yours. You want to have my kids? I'd give them to you.
Then he has his hot, dirty, sexy moments...
"Soon as we get back to the hotel," he breathed, "I'm going to fuck you like I'm going in for the championship title."
"You already have the championship title," I murmured.
"Yup, now I'm going be the reigning champ of that pussy."
And let's add on the fact that he has a piercing down below and he just golden!!
I highly recommend you diving into this story. You will be sucked in from page one and enjoy every single page ahead!!! -

I enjoyed this book! It was hot and entertaining. Did it blow me away? No. But I wasn't expecting blown away, in this category you are competing with Remy and IMO there can never be any competion=) I love bad boy fighters that are pierced and tat'd up!=) Ryder was possessive and a growler...another one of my personal favs. The drama could have driven me crazy but the author seemed to squash it pretty quick, which was good. There were a couple times that I thought, OH NO she isn't going to go there! She did go there but she would wrap it up quick, not sure how to say much more about that without spoiling it!
Just cuz Bo is so hot I am adding some more=)

Writing: It was fine. 1st Person Narration. 1 POV.
Characters: Ryder and Lexi are the MCs. They both are products of strange family dynamics. Lexi has accepted it, but Ryder still struggles.
Storyline: The story opens with a tragic event that hits everyone hard, especially Lexi.
It’s hard to give an overview of this story without giving it away. I will say that Bethany Bazile did a fantastic job with creating a real life dilemma that is difficult to reconcile. I thought about it for a while after I finished reading the book wondering how people in the real world appropriately resolve something like that.
There were parts of the story that caused eye rolling and me yelling, ‘JUST GO HOME!’ It was like Lexi wanted to be hurt, but whatever…it didn’t last long.
Intimacy Scenes: This section was HOT!
Overall: I was impressed by the dilemma and enjoyed the storyline. -

After Alexis suffers a devastating loss, Ryder is there to save her from herself. They've had an unbreakable connection since childhood. Ryder has been away for years and returns to Alexis's life as a MMA champion. Although she's now 23 yrs old, she's still a bit fragile so Alexis's parents arrange for Ryder to look after her while they "conveniently" go away. The ulterior motive of getting Alexis and Ryder together is obvious to everyone.
Putting these two together in the same room is like connecting a match and with a fuse.
To their credit, they do make a weak attempt to resist each other but we all knew the first night they were alone that it was going down...and soon!
"He moved in closer, his lips a mere inch from mine. He ran his fingers down my face and around my neck as he pushed his body into mine.
God, it wasn't this hot a minute ago."
"I don't have a weakness, but you are quickly becoming mine. You've gotten into my veins and I couldn't be with another woman if I wanted to."
Ryder is definitely swoon worthy and Alexis didn't bother me too bad either. :)
Why not 5 stars?
Again, this is a case of another book that had a lot of good things going on but it was all condensed in to one book. It didn't hit all the right spots for me. I wanted to spend some more time on building their connection and the family drama that was going on. Great story line, it just needed to either be simplified or carried over into a second book. It would have made the cray-cray drama at the end (which I felt was quickly glossed over) a lot more satisfying. -

Fight for me is stand -alone MMA book with possesive alpha hero,damaged heroine,fights and family drama.I must admit i buy it because of the cover i read Beautifully series from the author but didn't like her style very much so i was in mood for good MMA romance so i give it try and in the end this was great read.
After tragedy, Alexis live with her mum and stepdad,feeling guilty for what happen to her brother,she dosen't let anyone near her heart,she pretend to fell alive but the guilty is always here.She always have crush on Rydar, her stepdad son.After David left his mother for Alexis mother,Rydar cut Alexis and her brother Alec from his life.After 3 years Rydar is MMA champion,he train, fight, party, and fuck he is man -whore but always have feeling for Alexis so when he will see her in bar wasted he know he must make her his.

Alexis fight her attraction to Rydar,she is scared she will only get hurt in end,because she things Rydar is not one-women men and she have trust issues after boyfriend cheat on her. Last 20% was full of drama,Alexis ex and Rydar mum will do everything to break them apart,but they will not succsed.End was good and epiloguw i will love to see few years after, Rydar and Alexis married and Rydar with kids but it was only 6 months later.

I was drawn to this book solely based on the book cover at first; I mean, look at it! Yummy! The synopsis sounded good and it received good ratings so I thought I would give it a try.
I ended up being part of the little few that didn’t love this book. The things that I can say, without ruining the book to potential readers, are that there were some really good parts to this plot but there were some really undesirable parts as well. The good parts could have made this book wonderful. For instance, I was hooked at the very beginning of this book. The drama that Bazile wrote completely had me captured and all I wanted to do was read more. Then it turned somewhere for me and I lost all interest for a while. It was like a rollercoaster; one second I was up high and loving the book and then within seconds I was down in the bottom, not enjoying the plot or the characters. I found the constant battle of pushing each other away excessive and the immaturity levels of the characters offensive. The one character that I found myself confused about was Ryder’s mother. One moment she would be plotting against Ryder’s relationship with Alexis and the next she would be defending her son and what he wants. If this just happened once, I could handle the drama that it caused but it happened throughout the entire book, creating too much drama for such a minor character.
Let me be honest, this does not mean that you shouldn’t give this book a try. If it sounds intriguing to you, go for it; you might find that you like it. Like I always say, being a writer requires a certain person to do so and that certain person is not me so I can never truly hate a book. -

I read this book in less than one day! I read it and couldn't put it down... The story sucked me in. I didn't know what the book was about I didn't read any reviews.. All I knew was this book had a hot cover lol....
I'm not gonna lie when I started the book I almost stopped... Because I thought it was YA... I don't really YA... But I kept going at it and omg I can't believe I was about to stop reading ... This book has a bit of everything and it's so well written I got sucked up and I couldn't put it down.... Usually I'm not a fan of the main girl character but this one I loved... She wasn't overly broken she had her issues but that didn't over take the whole story.. He also had his issues but again not like some that kinda drag it was just enough to keep you hooked.., now can we please talk about his filthy mouth.. Jesus he was hot and his dirty talk made want to jump in my book lol.. Shit I had to fan myself after a couple of the sex scenes... The book has it's twist not a major one but it fits right into their story.... I loved it and I can't wait and see if the BFF gets her book with Ty!!! -
Loved this one. It sucked me in at the very beginning. I really love it when they are friends as kids and lose contact. Then years later they reconnect. I could read stories like that everyday. Of course they are even better when you add in some great sex:-D
Ryder was tough and sweet. I loved Lexi to. Not to much drama. I was shocked at one point toward the end when some drama happened and she didn't run. She actually talked to him about it. They were great together.
Lots of steamy smexy scenes with a big thick pierced cock. (I only drooled a little...cough cough...ok a lot) lol

This is my first book by this author and it delivered.
I enjoyed this, didn't expect it but lets say that a story that got me a little bit of everything, sad, rolls eyes, smiles, confused, annoyed, wtf, huh, angst and yelling at both of Alexis and Ryder kind of made up for all the frustration and when they finally connected.

Not sure how to rate this story. The storyline definitely drew me in and I didn't want to put it down but I also made notes in my nook about Ryder's actions and called him an asshole a few times. His actions often contradicted his feelings.
The premise: Lexi experiences heartbreaking loss that brings Ryder back into her life. Her girlhood crush who held her heart since she was 13. He left a few years ago when her mom and his dad rekindled their long ago relationship ( but the dad was still married) which angers Ryder and in turn he leaves behind his friendship with Alexa aka Lexi and Alec. But his return to her life is short livedIn the past two days, I'd clung to memories of Ryder like a lifeline. But after that visit, I knew he wasn't as anxious as I was to catch up
Then we fast forward another three years and Lexi and Ryder cross paths again. The both have issues that have shaped them into the people they are. At this point we see that Ryder harbors feelings toward Lexi but fights his damnedest to ignore them and her, he was so nonchalant toward her (I wanted to smack the smirk and shrug off him).I'd never wanted a woman as much as I wanted to take this one. It had always been this way with Lexi, but it had definitely increased in intensity......I'd never run away from a woman I wanted to fuck, but I needed to get away from this one. I knew without a doubt if I got my hands on her, I'd never let her go…..I never saw Lexi as a friend or a sister. She was a threat from day one
Ryder's dad asks him to look after Lexi...he turns him down but does it anyway. This little fact comes back to bite him in the ass later and leads to his stupidity and hurtful actions. Lexi and Ryder spend 10 days together that will change their lives.He was trouble, and I was the new toy he wanted to play with until it broke. I had no doubt it wouldn't take much for him to break me, but I didn't care. I'd be left with all the broken pieces with no clue how to put myself back together, but the tradeoff might be worth it.
My heart fluttered. It took ten years, but I finally got Ryder to admit he was attracted to me……but just like when we were kids, Ryder was always interested in every girl but me.
”You want to play dirty? Because that’s the way I like it. You have no idea what you’re asking for…You want me to fuck you? Is that what you really want, Lexi?
But you have to add in ex loves that won’t go away or take a hint. Parental drama. Past emotional loss & life changing circumstances. Plus fighting feelings that have been there for a lifetime. It takes a few tries to get on the same page which made the acts to inflict jealously really cut deep (to me). And the hurt one was ALWAYS Lexi.He had no right to be angry…I was his hours ago. He’d had his chance, and he walked away…..I thought my efforts to make him jealous were for nothing. He didn’t even bother to look my way as I walked across the room…..I wanted to make Ryder crazy. I needed to make him pay for building me up and letting me down. Most of all, I wanted his attention…..I wanted him to need me the way I did him. If I were honest, it was what I’d always wanted.
I swear all of Ryder’s stupid behavior and childish hurtful antics he blames them on Lexi. He tells her more than once she will push him to do something she won’t like or she will regret. Ummm, no you are a grown ass man who needs to take responsibility for your actions and man up and fight for what you want, quit being an ass. (some books have a lead who is an ass that you love regardless but damn Ryder bothered me the way he could do a 180 with his feelings. Over and over. You can’t have true strong feelings for someone like he is supposed to and just flip them off or on)and I knew his next move before he made it. It was payback time. But knowing what he was up to didn’t make it any less painful when he put his hand at the back of her head and pulled her in for a kiss
All my questions about Leah were answered, and I didn’t like what I’d heard. Obviously, Leah was a fixture in Ryder’s life. The last thing I needed was to fall for another man who would hurt me.
“This has always been mine”…”So when are you going to make me yours?”
”Let me take you home so we can stop pretending we don’t need each other more than anything else.”
”I’m scared to let you in. You’re more important to me than you realize, and I don’t want to lose you because we complicated our friendship.”
When truths come to light, pain ensues and dealing with issues that should have been dealt with way before should never be handled while drunk. To me what happens is not a goodbye but cheating. (his actions and words were just as emotional as toward Lexi when he was with Leah, this constantly made me not believe the depths of his feelings were that different. He treated them interchangeably. He practically dismisses his hurtful actions as totally excusable and lashes out over everything she does, when he is the one who broke her trust. Maybe I needed more.)
So while I may not know the best way to rate this story it made me feel. Even if I shook with anger at one point. The ending was a bit of a disappointment. I know the subsequent after party scenes (best way to word it without spoilers) were important because Lexi and her mom needed to talk. But the epilogue was not enough, it was rushed and it gave more credit to Ryder and Leah's relationship (yes I typed the right name). Ryder's fight and desire to win seemed to stem from emotions that happened in the past and not just a bruised ego. Maybe I read more into it but the wordings and lack of closure made the epilogue a disappointment to me. I really did enjoy the story but needed more definition and actions from Ryder to show his love for Lexi (there was no grand gesture or major ass kissing apology) and usually that’s what happens in an epilogue…it makes the pain the reader and characters had to go through worth it. -
I was going to just give this a 3 stars for being alright but I decided it deserved a 1 star for how it talked about suicide and how her mom talked to her about it when she was in the hospital like she was selfish and doing it on purpose to hurt her. I only hope the author will never know the real fucking pain that comes with wanting to take your own life. I only got there last January, life was so painful that I didn't want to be here anymore. While I'm thankful every day I had family that got me help and made me want to keep trying it doesn't happen like that for everyone. Suicide is a sensitive subject and that one conversation just ruined my whole reading experience with this book. Victim blaming in suicide situations is NEVER the way to go! Yes people who committ suicide or try to are victims of depression and it's not something that just goes away. There are moments where I'm 100% fine and then out of nowhere the painful feelings come back! So this is just a trigger warning for those wanting to read this book, the author has a shitty take on it!

I just finish reading this book and O.M.G. I love it, love the characters and love how the book turn out to be, I have to say that this book some time made me mad, but I love it from the first page to the last, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Alexis ( A.K.A. ) Lexi, she just got to her boyfriend place, her phone haven't stop ringing it was her so called best friend, telling her that they needed to talk, when Lexi told her BF Logan about it, Logan drop the bomb on her that he slept with her best friend, after hearing this Lexi walk out and call her brother, he agree to be their in minutes, after so many minutes later and no show of her brother she gets a call from her mom, that's when she got the news that change her life. Few night later Ryder when to see his father, who is Lexi step dad he when to ask him to go see him fight, when David told Ryder that he couldn't that made Ryder hate his father more, but once he told Ryder what happened his first words that came out of his mouth was how is she, after David told Ryder where Lexi was he decide to go see her from far, what he was not expecting was for what happened next, and more than less for their life to change again, now few years later and Lexi is about to see Ryder again but when she walks into the kitchen she is not seen a boy but a man, when Ryder turn around he is surprise to see Lexi but he not seen that fragile girl that he left few years ago but a all grown up Lexi.
I love the banter that Lexi and Ryder have with each other, love it how they get on each other skin, and the sexual tension that they have with each, love the way Ryder talk to her, and love it how they fight for each other love, Author Bethany Bazile THANK YOU for introducing me to this amazing characters and this awesome book love it. -
This is how book starts: Alexis Cole one day lost everything that was important to her. Her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend. Her twin brother was killed in an accident. She blames herself for it all and trying to commit suicide. This is when Ryder Hayes sweeps back into her life. But just as quickly as he appeared he was gone. For three years. And this is maybe 5% of book.
Practically they are half siblings. His father went away to her mother. Ryder Hayes is a UFC fighter and come back once again when he must speak to his father and then their paths meet again. They are trying to continue to deny their feelings but of course it ends up great passion.
"Ryder was a dick, but I couldn't stay away. We straight women always had problems staying away from dicks. It was an irreversible condition."
After a few minutes when I was reading this book I knew that a lot is going to happen here. Apart from main plot is also his ex, her ex, her ex who is not even her ex, friends and parents. Events happen and change so fast that you can feel overwhelmed. Rollercoaster of emotions. There was no time to think, accept or at least upset you. I must admit that all this keeps you in suspense and as quickly as it all happened I read it just as fast. I couldn't put it down.
"This love will never be easy, but it will always be worth the fight. Even if they managed to tear you away from me, I’d come for you. You’re that piece of happiness I can’t live without."
Unfortunately, it seems that as soon as I finished it just as soon I forget about it. It's just nice to read, if you are looking for something more is probably not here. Your opinion is likely to depend on how much of this type of books you previously read. -

This story was crazy drama filled from page one.
First thing that got me was Alexis Cole is a twin. She looses her brother one tragic night. She blames herself for his accident. He was on his way to come get her and died in a car crash. She felt he was gone without even being told so. My heart was broken.
In a grief filled haze, Alexis tries to end her own pain by drowning herself in the ocean. Luckily for her, her step brother was there.
Enter Ryder Hayes. He is the hot MMA fighter, who is also smitten with Alexis from the start. See his dad and Alexis' mom were good friends. Until one thing lead to another and then his dad and her mom got together. You following??
Well now they are all adults and Ryder can not control his feelings for Alexis anymore. It seems to be a good thing, because Alexis has always felt the same way for Ryder. The problems was, he is her step brother and he feels loyalty to his mom. After all, his dad left his mom for Alexis' mom.
Whew!!!!
So between family drama, ex girlfriend and ex boyfriend drama, and a whole bunch of other problems, the couple gives it a go. They deal with obstacles on a daily basis.
I really enjoyed the book. I love a fighter story. My only drawback was the fact that Alexis and Ryder were step brother and sister. I with they weren't related. It kinda made me think it was wrong in some way.
