A delightful little introduction to the 6 Day War, and Battlefront Miniatures's Flames of War game system as adapted for it. I have to admit it worked as an advertisement for the minis, as I now possess a nice little Israeli Recce Jeep/Halftrack force -for games I may never play.
That's really what this booklet is. A big advertisement for this Flames of War extension, taking the WWII game partway into the later 20th century with its missiles and GPS guidance. There's a light and past paced little history, some explanation of terms and special rules, and and then the armies are laid out. Beautiful loving shots of 1/100 scale(15mm) tanks and soldiers in stirring battle scenes. Their painting is amazing- and one is easily drawn in.
This is aimed at a reading level about 8th grade, so an acceptable way to get a youngster interested in history. The Gamer/modeller/military enthusiast will love this stuff. But I do hope it only kindles the desire to read up on the topic, say.... Six Days in June, Anyone? -
