"The magic of this anthology of women is in its radical reflection that “we are every woman,” and women are NOT the same. We do not need to pretend to sameness in order to express what is most essential about us—that is—our very existence, and our engaged faith experiences.
This unique collection has the powerful capacity to remind us of the awe and beauty in diversity without itself becoming a sort of pop culture of Self worship. Each of these stories is True, and each is intimately connected to the lives of the women telling them. Read deeply. Enjoy. Then, tell your own story. That is what this volume invites you to do. I did and I am already a better person for it." - Dr. Amina Wadud

Whatever Works: Feminists of Faith Speak Reviews
-
I received this book from the giveaways and I was interested in the spiritual views of others. God only will be able to judge anyone's spiritual life and I did see many views in this book.
-
It took me a long time to read this book because of illness, however this book is a mixed bag. There are some interesting insights that found fascinating, But I was turned off by the angry tone of some of the stores and the though the fight against women being victims there are so many stores from women who are victims that it invalidates its argument. Throwing together stories just because they are from women but had some many themes, the reader often gets bored or lost. This needs to be better edited.

I love the whole series!
I own all of The Girl God series and read it often. While I didn't connect with all of the stories they are all valuable in their own right. I will recommend this book to my other friends.
