    雖然系列寫著Lonely Planet Kids

I expected to enjoy this book and I was not disappointed in the slightest. It is packed with all kinds of information from the purely educational to charming trivia. It covers everything from the history of spying to creating a dead drop. Highlighted throughout are case histories on real spies and intelligence agencies.

There are chapters for the many skills a modern spy must have, code breaking, disguises, secret passwords and countersigns and even internet hacking. It is all in there for future Jack Ryans to hone their spy chops. Yes, this book made me yearn for any book by Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum or Ian Fleming.

This book is as educational as it is fun and I think it would a super addition to any classroom/homeschool library. I can see kids enjoying it on their own or as research for a larger project. It is recommended for kids 8 and up. My son is 12 and he enjoyed it as much as I did.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review

    description

Ingenious, witty, clever, and sensational, How to be an International Spy is an exceptional book that will not only grip young readers with interest but adults too!
    ___________________________________________
    WHAT I LIKED:
+ How to be an International Spy is an incredibly well written and structured book. Not only does it brim with inside information on secret intelligence and agent related skills, but by offering tips and insight into the lives of legitimate spies and undercover agents such as Edward Snowden, Ian Lancaster Fleming, Larry Wu-Tai Chin, and Andree Peel aka Agent Rose (to name a few) it is a book that will provoke a sense of thrill and intrigue!

+ Owing to the extensive research and presentation of the book, How to be an International Spy is a highly engaging book as it is full of mysterious intrigue and conspiracy. Too, it is jam-packed with unique illustrations and real-life photos that will help make complex topics and subjects a bit more alluring and comprehensible

+ Furthermore, How to be an International Spy will introduce young readers to a new collection of words and interests by beckoning them to engage in real spy activities such as establishing security measures within their domains, creating code names, working with hidden messages and invisible ink, and providing helpful tips to boost photographic memory, track trails, and become more aware of their surroundings

+ How to be an International Spy not only touches on historical types of espionage, but it taps into modern-day gadgets and gizmos readers will be able to identify such as drones, the internet, military gear (thermal goggles, night vision goggles), stealth aircrafts, audio surveillance, heat paint, digital license plates ― I admit that the most distressing part about reading this section, in particular, was the realization that we truly have no privacy and that George Orwell predicted it right; Big Brother is watching, and this is precisely why my son and I both enjoyed this book so much, it woke us up from a sense of complacency so to speak

    WHAT I DIDN’T LIKED:
I had no quibbles with this book, all the historical subjects, even the sensitive topics were presented with young readers in mind ― we thoroughly enjoyed it!

    AFTERTHOUGHTS:
I shared this book with my oldest son and not only did it pique his interest, but he begged me to watch documentaries with him. Suffice it to say, we have turned this nifty book into a sort of homeschool curriculum by researching and studying espionage from Biblical history (Moses and his spies, Joshua and Caleb), William Shakespeare who was a spy for England, and the Rosenberg’s too! I highly recommend this book to all those who hold an enthusiasm for spycraft

Have you ever wanted to feel like a real spy? Tips and tricks of the trades? Learn about real international spies through out history and the unbreakable code? Enigma? I'm sure you havent heard much about Enigma but it could of cost a major war, WWII. How about common codes in general or encryptions? Learning when someone's following you, gather your own fingerprints, create your own mirrored shades....hmmm? There is so much more I have not touched on yet, but my young 'want to be spy', do you have what it takes? Very real information gathered together, some we use everyday, some advancing, but learn all about the great spies of history, the technological advances, and to be able to do it yourself andown see where it takes you.

When you open 'How To Be A International Spy-Your top secret guide to espionage' by Andy Briggs the book takes you through first as a recruit and as you move forward and advance through your readings learn about different types of spies, real spies, the wars through history WWII and

the cold war your training begins! NSA,CIA,FBI,DIA, as you move Co tionusly forward you will be amazed by all the facts. Even by animals that were charged with treason, as spies and more! Ever wanted to to make your own invisible ink, oh yeah it's here. Also get up close and personal with technology, it may make you think twice next time you send that picture or secure document or when you it's deleted think again.

This book is good for middle school, high school, even for freshman college students to touch in on history facts and technological data and cryptology. What's great about it, it's a wonderful way to spark ones interest in many different topics as well as learn. Also once the reader is done they are a "spy". They can also take there learnings farther if they wish.

It's history and modern day all rolled into one. Create, learn, discuss.

I received a copy in exchanged for an honest opinion. This does not influence my opinion in any shape or form.

Cristian and I were really excited to receive our copy of How to become an International Spy. What I first noticed about the book was that it had the most beautiful pages I had ever seen. They really went well with the book the colors complimented the cover. I also loved how it gives you the history of spies not just from the different time periods it also gives you a glimpse of the different kinds of spies.

The only downside to the book was that Cristian would lose interest but again this book is recommended for someone older than him. He's only four so that might have been the problem. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the book and learned a couple things from the book.

I would definitely recommend this for the little ones who enjoy adventures.
