Time Will Tell (Maybe #3) Reviews
-
I was really curious about Xander's story because I truly enjoyed the
Maybe series by Chantal Fernando but other then that this book had no salt and pepper. It was a very flat read without any highs or lows.
If you liked the Maybe series then you should definitely read Xander's story...mainly because (like me) you'll be curios :P But if not then this isn't a very thrilling read. -
☆ I received an ARC via FMR Book Studio in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆
Time Will Tell was another great standout from author Chantal Fernando and can be read as a standalone.
Latterly introduced to Chantal’s work, I have to sheepishly admit that I’m one of those readers who have not read the previous books in this series *ducks head*.
But quite honestly, can anyone blame me for not having the strength to turn it down when the ARC opportunity (to review) came knocking? It's Chantal freakin' Fernando for goodness sakes!! You'd be crazy to refute it! *makes crazy laser eyes*
★★★★★★
What stood out for this book was its vulnerable and ethereal quality that lured you in and hold you from start to finish. It teaches you about-- coming to terms in love, exploring unlikely friendships, coping with the loss of a loved one, making the best of a situation, and how an unexpected turn can lead to the most rightful decision you’ve made in your life.
I will not pretend as if I loved Xander at first, because I was a little put out when he went off with that hussy...Argh!
However! In his defense, I do in a way get why he did that and why he felt that his chances with Tillian were slim to none initially. I mean, for one thing-- he never planned to stick around town long to begin with; and the other-- if he ever hurt Tillian in any way, his and Tillian's mutual friend, Zach, who has ties to an MC would not hesitate to beat the sh*# out of and take him out.No pressure, right?
As for Tillian, man, I REALLY LOVED her!! She really could use the phrase "carpe diem" in her life!! "Seize the moment," as you never know where things could lead!
Tillian was strong, resilient, beautiful, and hard working. Everything a strong female heroine ought to be!
Her and Xander's relationship was a delightful one as they did not have a love at first sight connection. Sure, they were both attracted to one another from the beginning, but their budding chemistry starts off from the friends zone and then later develops into the lovers department. Such a definite plus in my book!
★★★★★★
So, my verdict?: A lovely romance filled with growth, engaging themes and elements, and steam that will make anyone just want to live in the moment and go after what you want and never let it go!
Great job, Ms. Fernando!! -
Finshed my ARC 12 mins ago & realised there is a book 3........ Xander baby!!!! And a lil sister of some hot blonde twins i hope? ;)
-
LOVED IT,
Chantal Fernando!!! You ALWAYS manage to give me a HOT, ALPHA male and a little angst :D
But now, I am DYING, just DYING to read Zach and (hopefully) April's story... Although I would have no idea which series he would be in.... PLEASE say you are gonna write Zach's story????!!!!! -
3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.

UPDATE: Reread, May 2019
======================She gives me head on the way home. Classy, I know, but I’m not complaining. I come in her mouth, wishing it were another.
Zach chuckles. “She was an easy lay. He’s not going to see her again.”
“Wait a minute, you wanted Xander? And then I set him up with that…” he trails off, scowling. “It’s fine,” I say. “I just thought he was good-looking. No big deal.” I try to play it off.
“Why the fuck would you go home with that girl if you liked Trillian? That’s fuckin’ stupid.”
How does a man say sorry to a woman he wants because he was between another woman’s thighs just the night before?
“Me? Tamed? Not fuckin’ likely,” I deny. We’ve only just met. It isn’t possible. “And ‘someone like me?’” I ask, even though I know what he means.
Persephone is Ryan and Reid’s sister and Summer’s sister-in-law. When we first met, we hooked up a few times until I found out she was working at a strip club and hiding it from me. We fucked a few times casually after that, but she knows I would never consider anything more permanent. It just wouldn’t work out for us.
-
I can NOT WAIT.... hurry up september!! I loved maybe #1 & #2 and I am hating wating for #3.

I feel so mean. This is my first 1* review, but I cannot bring myself to give it a higher rating😫.
This book just wasn't for me. I had read the two previous books in the series years ago and when I saw this book pop up I thought I'd give it a go - I needed an easy, quick read - but it was just full of things I absolutely hate. Trillian had no authentic character progression, she just completely changed from one person to another as soon as Xander was introduced. There was epic insta-love (like moving towns & re-arranging their entire lives for someone they had just met type of insta-love) that was so unbelievable I couldn't help but be bored and an "alpha male" that was actually just overbearing. I wish I had liked this one because another series the author has written, The Wind Dragons MC, is my serious guilty pleasure and so I was hoping to be able to feel the same about this book but 🤷🏼♀️ it sadly wasn't meant to be. -
Words can not express how excited I was when this ARC hit my kindle. Being the major Chantal Fernando Fan that I am, I devoured this book within one day. Every book Ms. Fernando writes I gobble up like it is my very own specific drug. Who can't resist a bad boy with a huge heart, I know I can't. I found myself reading this book while I was suppose to be working and my poor husband had to eat a frozen pizza for dinner because I absolutely could not put this book down.
The is Xander's story and anyone who has read the other books in this series knows a little of Xander's background, however this book could also be read as a stand alone. I don't know why someone would want to just read only one book in this series but everyone is different. The story starts out a few months after Xander's father passed away and Xander is emotionally lost. He feels the need to just get away for awhile and clear his head so a trip to a old friend is in-store. But what the last thing Xander expected to find was his friend's pretty little neighbor. Can this tattooed bad boy just have a casual fling with her?
Trillian is a twenty something college student who's mother took off on her at the age of 7 and her dad passed away 2 years prior. With much hassling from her best friend, they decide to go out to a club and try to have some fun. What she didn't expect to find was the sexy bad boy at the bar to lite a fire in her belly. Too bad he is her neighbors best friend and the guy some random skany girl is leaving the club with. Soon a friendship blooms between Xander and Trillian. However when feeling start to take shape both characters fall deeply for each other. But can Trillian fall for a guy who is only "visiting" or can she have a casual fling and lick her wounds after he leaves?
This story shows growth from both characters. Xander realizes that he can't forget tragedy but he can heal from it with help from Trillian. And we find that Trillian soon starts to open up and become more bold with her wants and desires thanks to Xander.
There is not enough stars I can give this book. Xander says all the right things that can make a girls heart melt and the sex scenes are fan-freaking-tactic!!!!!!!!! Both characters are made for each other and I really liked that the author incorporated supporting characters from her previous books and series. Chantal Fernando is definitely a author one should look into. -
The star rating for TIME WILL TELL is: 4 1/2 stars out of 5! :)
My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading an ARC Copy of ‘TIME WILL TELL’(via: BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com):
The wait for the third novel of the Maybe Series was long awaited but truly well worth it! In the first two novels of this series, we were introduced to the twin-brothers Reid and Ryan Knox. This story follows Xander Kane and Trillian and readers will get to enjoy the story in both main character’s P.O.V’s(point of views).
Xander Kane is heartbroken. The loss of someone very important in his life has brought him down and he needs time away. Tall, handsome, tattooed, and swoon-worthy Xander decides to take a road trip to meet up with his longtime friend Zach in another town to just take a break. The pain from the loss of a loved one is just beneath the surface and he just plans to try his best to get his mind right but when he arrives to Channon he meets a girl that he instantly is drawn to.
Trillian lives alone and has for the past two years since her father passed away. She doesn’t have much family but her best-friend April, her good friend/neighbor Zach and his dad Grim, who both happen to be a part of the Wind Dragon’s MC, are the closest people she has to family in her life now. When Trill goes out with April for a night of fun, she comes across a very gorgeous guy that makes her feel an attraction that she’s never felt toward a man before. As the night progresses, they both find out that they have a connection in more ways than one.
I absolutely enjoyed this novel and loved the chemistry between all of the characters! The friendship between Trillian and Zach is adorable; the growing chemistry between Xander and Trillian is so pleasing. From the moment Trillian and Xander meet and reading what may develop, it all is sweet and captivating. Will the friendship between Trillian and Zach make Xander think there is more between them? Will ex’s ruin things for Trillian and Xander? “Time Will Tell” is full of entertaining moments in the story as well as a perfect mix of romance and steamy-hotness with alpha-male galore. This one does not disappoint and I recommend it for anyone looking for something great to read next. This series is worth the read.
The star rating for TIME WILL TELL is: 4 1/2 stars out of 5! :)

The books following book #1 in this series as has been getting worse and worse with every passing release. The first book actually had a plot line. The second book was too hot and cold. In this third book everything just fell in line too perfectly.
It starts out with a good girl who isn't much into the club scene actually going to a club with friends and meeting this amazing guy who her best guy friend happens to know and the rest is history. There were small insignificant problems that showed up during the story, but simply disappeared or got "resolved" with two pages.
I also didn't like how the story, so early on, implied that there was a future for them. The main character's barely knew each other a full 2 days and they were already spouting 'I love yous' and 'forevers'.
For some reason, along the story I was actually rooting for Rex, instead of Xander. I know he doesn't have anything to do with this particular story, but getting to know Xander just made me think he was too soft and maybe he has anger management issues.
Zach was a breath of fresh air. He was who he was and didn't change during the course of the story. He likes hooking up with random women and isn't concerned with all the judgement thrown his way. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with the lifestyle he chose, but at least he's keeping it real.
My Favorite Quotes:
No favorite quotes for this novel. -
"Time Will Tell" is fourth book in the Maybe series. This is about Xander Kane, who is Summer brother, we read about her in the first part. He struggles with his father's loss and leaves to a childhood friend to shut out memories. There he meets a beautiful and generous Tillian.
I have to mention about a friend who knows these two - Zach who has ties with a Wind Dragons MC. He is a great character and ensures a lot of entertainment to reader.
It is sweet and simple story. Great start, I really like how this story begins. The middle of the book is, unfortunately, a little, little boring. Only budding chemistry and relationship between the two, and forced distance. But the end of the book is very nice and have a great and funny epilogue.
I must say that I was surprised. Judging by the previous parts I thought that author will connect Xander with Knox brothers sister Persephone. Yes, she have part in the book but it was not her who stole his heart. Of course, in this part you find connection with previous characters as well. You'll get a little bit about future of Reid and Summer mostly.
But what's really cool that apart from obvious links with Maybe series. We also have a connection to Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons MC Series) - Sin, Rake and Arrow - yes they have a small part in book. And also Saxon and the band Morning Alliance! This is really great. These migrations between books. I really enjoy this.
So the whole book I rate 3 stars. Easy to read, easy to forget. Nothing more nothing less, typical book of this author. -
My star rating is 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. =)
This series is one of my favorites and continues
to have enjoyable characters and an awesome
story line. The romance that grows between
the main characters Xander and Trillian, was so
engaging and pleasing.
Author Chantal Fernando creates great characters,
especially attractive alpha-males that never
fall flat. Check this book out and the series
if you haven't yet.

1.5* I'm maybe being a tad generous with the stars. This was a whole lot of nothing, apart of a bump at the start, the book was just the H and h being lovey dovey all the way.
-
It was not the worst book of the four, but this series leaves much to be desired when the author did nothing more than reflect exaggerated machismo and little value and appreciation of women, who accept everything as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
Dash was seen and not seen and with Zach she wanted to give us history, but in reality nothing was ever heard of him and Apri, or maybe yes? -
New adult novels are hit and miss for me. Either they are too heavy on the angst, like nauseating angst for being angsty’s sake. Or they are just too hokey for my tastes. Then you experience an author who takes this sometimes polarizing genre and blasts it apart. The writing is so interesting and engaging and the characters so relatable and multi-dimensional that suddenly who cares what category it falls into, it’s just damn good.
Trillion is a young woman on her own, whose mother is a vagrant and evil to her core and her father has recently passed away. Best friends with her neighbor Zach and under the protection of his father and their motorcycle club, The Wind Dragons (fantastic tie in with these dudes!) Trill is a woman who practically radiates goodness and love. On a wild whim, she decides to flirt with a stranger in town but is shocked back into her shell when he shows her his bastard, woman hopping ways. Xander is running from his own pain and familial tragedy and blows into town looking to let off some steam and find a pair of legs to crawl between. What he didn’t expect was to be blindsided with his attraction to the beautiful Trillion, and pissed off because he can’t have her because he believes she belongs to his buddy Zach. Thankfully, Zach gives Xander the green light with a warning to treat his friend right. Annnnd then the story really begins. Trillion is a lovely soul, kind and well-loved throughout her community. She does not just fall into Xander’s arms as she (thanks to his early actions) views him as a playboy and she does not want her heart broken. The more Xander works to convince her that he is for real, the more he begins to believe it himself and his honesty and willingness to be transparent and make concessions for Trill’s benefit, really endeared me to his character.
Their courtship is fast and sexually explosive but not without its hiccups. They each live hours away and the distance wreaks havoc with Trill’s sense of trust and security. Most of their issues beyond the long distance were manufactured in Trill’s head. She has some hang ups with Xander’s past that I initially understood but grew to believe she blew a little out of proportion. Thank gawd Xander, while loving her like crazy, did not totally roll over and allow her ruin their fledgling relationship with her sometimes unfair judgements. Another aspect I appreciated was how family horrors and pains are woven into the story so it is not just a new-agey romantic jaunt. Time Will Tell deals with some serious family issues without weighing the tone of the book down one bit. The emotional and verbal abuse Trill received from her mother was horrid. There is a short list of the worst mother-of-the-heroine-villains and I guarantee you Trill’s opportunistic and narcissistic mother is on it. It was a victorious moment when we see Trill stand up to her mother, knowing she is not lacking in love and finding strength in the bond she shares with Xander! Hoorah!
The realism that the author embeds in this story was refreshing. The relationship was not perfect. The heroine, jumped to conclusions, the hero was quick to anger . Watching Trill and Xander work through their shit felt genuine. Hilarity ensued when she tried to make him jealous, pearls were clutched when he showed her what bad girls get from their bad boys when they try to make their man jealous! *fans self* Yes! There was an occasional plot point that was a head scratcher but by the time I worked out what was not working, I was on to something that worked perfectly in the story, my misgivings easily assuaged.
I started the Maybe series after enjoying Fernando’s Wind Dragon’s motorcycle club book, Dragon’s Lair, and though it definitely can stand alone, the series is really such fun escapist reading that I would be remiss if I did not suggest you give the series a read. Besides, there is a spoiler for one couple that appears in Time Will Tell that will be a bit of a bummer if you read in reverse order *tears*. Fernando has become an auto-buy for me. There is nothing better than reading a book and feeling as if you were a towns person on the wall watching the story unfold. I know this town and these people and I just got the warm and fuzzies when I read Time Will Tell. -
I am honoured to have received this copy from this amazing author for an honest review.
This is Xander's story and could be read as a stand alone but i would highly recommend reading the other books in the series. These are an amazing bunch of characters and friends that will delve their way into you heart and you will find yourself invested in them all, and give you a full understanding of all the characters you come across.
Xander has just lost the father he idolises and feels lost and at a cross roads in his life. He decides to take some time away to pull himself together and goes to stay with his longtime friend Zach who is the son of an MC president of another chapter of the Dragons Lair MC.
On his first night he meets a girl, who he's totally drawn to, she's beautiful, a little shy and reserved, but he knows he has to get to know her, which in itself is something he never really does. He comes to a misunderstanding that she is involved romantically with his friend Zach and is surprised when he really doesn't like that feeling.
Trillian is totally floorstuck when she see's Xander and has feelings she's never felt about a guy before, yeah sure she's had boyfriends but they have been anything but good, she's a quiet reserved girl, doesn't have a lot of confidence in herself, raised and adored by her father, whom she lost a couple of years previously. She's best friends with Zach and doesn't take chances and likes to always be on the "safe" side.
I loved how this story unfolded, as they got to know each other and Trillian started to come out of her shell and grow, with all the confidence Xander induced in her, we get to see what an amazing young woman she is. I loved how she was with Xander at the times when he needed her support, how they just WERE made my heart melt and leap at the same time. The chemistry between them was WOW, you could feel the passion leaping off the pages !!!!! I found myself engrossed and couldn't put this book down. The camadarie between all the characters and their friends had me laughing so hard and also in tears at times. Xander was just amazing (I WANT A XANDER!!) The growth and maturing of their relationship, and then the times when crap hits the fan, just had me in awe and tears with how far Trillian had come and how she dealt with her wicked witch of a mother coming onto the scene and all the time she had Xander and her friends standing right behind her.
I loved Xander in Maybe This Time but i love him even more now !!!!!
This is a must read! -
I really enjoyed this book, Chantal did a great job delivering characters that were easy to connect too and be fully invested in following.Time will Tell touches on the MC world of the Wind Dragons and had the element of club house and club rules but this story was a gentile love story between Trillian (very odd name but readable) and Xander. There was a really good mix of cheesy grin moments, with awww moments and general loved up lovey dovey-ness lol for want of putting it better.
I never in a million years thought I’d be visualising Disney whilst reading this and heck those couple of lines had me grinning away like the cat who got the cream! Bizarre indeed by crikey Trill made me laugh with her inner monologue then.
Xander was rough around the edges, manwhore who wasn't bothered about settling down with 'the one. But he has the inner Casanova going on and when he met Trillian that was pretty much it, he was reformed. He’s a great book boyfriend. Although he fucked it up right at the start but he handled it well ☺about winning Trillian over.
Trill, ah now little ole Trill. She was adorable! I wish Chantal had touched more on the Mum element, that could have been some great oh my god moments but all in all I am glad that Trill had none of her mum’s personality. She’s a good girl and although some hate good girl reads I kinda like them from time to time. But I would also say that although Trillian is a good girl she has an inner rebel going on, she had some sass and some balls too. I really liked her indeed.
This is not an action packed book with lots of OMG moments. It’s very gentle paced and really centres around the building relationship with the two main characters. The deliverance of a story that doesn’t have any shock moments or suspense to keep you turning must be written well to keep a reader on board and this does just that, Chantal wrote this extremely well and I am very pleased to have got to receive a copy of this in return for an honest review. My reviews are my own and 100% honest. -
Seriously

I have always been a big fan of books that capture my attention and sinks me deep into the book. I Have also read a few of Chantel's books and She has yet to disappoint me! She is a amazing writer that makes you fall in love with the character of each of her books.
This book was truly amazing Xander recently lost his father to get away he goes visits his best friend (Zach) Trillian is a good girl and studying to be a teacher. She has a kind heart and still hasn't found Mr Right. When Trillian and Xander meets you could feel the chemistry coming off the pages of the book. Chantel was able to make you feel like you were in the bar seeing them meet for the first time. I swear i was rooting for her right at the beginning.
If you want a book that will keep you sunk deep into the book and doesn't leave you hanging this is the book for you! You will get some love and romance.. Even love at a distance and the best part is the chemistry and steamy hot scenes keep you coming back for more!! I truly loved this book and can't wait to read about Zach's story! -
* I was given an ARC for an honest Review*
I was so excited to read Time Will Tell by Chantal Fernando. I couldn't put it down I read it in one setting. I fell in love with the characters and the story was amazing. In Time Will Tell we meet Xander who is an alpha tattooed hottie that is staying with a friend after losing his father.
He meets Trillian at a club. Trillian is also dealing with pain and loss of her dad as well. Her mom left her when she was 7 years old. They both form a friendship to overcome their pain and loss.
I highly recommend this book if you like Chantal's other books. It has strong will built characters. A great sexy love connection between Trillian and Xander. -
I received this for an honest review. All I have to say is FREAKING LOVED IT!!! Every time and I mean every-time I pick up one of these books I fall instantly in love with the story and the characters. Chantal does an amazing job with her alphas and her women.. One thing about these books I love are how they connect together and you get a nice little piece from other stories.
I have been waiting for Zanders story since I read Reid and Summers story. I have to say that I was absolutely NOT disappointed. I fell in love with Zander and Trillians story. This is a standalone but will be a much better story if read in order of the others... -
I read the first two books in this series so of course I wanted to finish it out with Xander's story. It was sweeter than the first books and had just enough spice (in the form of EX's) to keep things interesting. It was a pretty engaging book with mostly fun/good characters (even the bikers were nice and not really threatening) and not really much more conflict than a loser mother and some slutty girls. On sale right now so it's a good time to grab it!
**** 4 **** "a sweet HEA for a sweet couple" stars -
2.5 stars! It had a scene with OW plus looks of info of past conquests with the H and OW! I wasn't keen. The h was a bit of a doormat at times too! H acting like a dick and then just ordering h to sit on his lap, which she'd do like straight away
-
Its written by Chantal.....need I say more ?
5 Stars baby !!!
Hurry with the next one PLEASE !!!! ;0) -
Can't wait for this book :-)
