Life is tough in post Civil War Richmond for Meredith and Hilary Mason, two young women left orphaned by the War with little money and few prospects. Some land purchased by the father in Colorado Territory prior to the War is just about their only remaining asset, but they have no funds to travel to their property.

When they see an ad for a mail order bride in the area near their father's land, Meredith accepts the offer, and the two sisters travel westward. Widower Will Svenson is rather shocked when his mail order bride shows up with both a sister and a freed slave in tow, but he takes it in stride.

What Will will not take in stride is defiance, and while his new bride, Meredith is - mostly - compliant, Hilary's one objective is to reach their father's land and she's not taking no for an answer, either from Will or from Will's younger brother Jesse. Unfortunately, for the two sisters, both Will and Jesse know how to handle the sassy sisters, and this involves… bloomers down!

"Bloomers Down" is a fun, quick romantic read featuring spicy erotic elements and the romantic spanking of adult women. It was originally published on the internet website Bethany's Woodshed as "Mail Order Spankings."

    BOTTOMS UP
This is a short but fun story of two sisters, Meredith and Hillary Mason, left orphaned and with very little money after the Civil War. Meredith accepts a mail order bride offer from widower and father of two small children, Will Svenson in the Colorado territory. What a shock when she shows up with a sister and Mammy in tow. The story is entertaining and the dialogue is witty. This story is broke down into two sections, one is Will dealing with his lying wife Meredith and the second is Will's brother Jesse dealing with the runaway Hillary. These two southern belles are going to learn what an old-fashioned spanking on the bare is all about! It does have a HEA ending.

It's probably hypocritical writing that I found the storyline somewhat abusive especially when quite a few of my reads are in a similar vein and one has to suspend belief to enjoy them, however I found this uncomfortable, that said there were a few moments of humour especially Mammy who feels that Meredith and Hannah need taking in hand.

I enjoyed this story of a mail order bride and her sister who end up in trouble with the husband and his brother.

    A Great Read!

I liked reading Bloomers Down: A Mail Order Bride Spanking Story, all about Meredith & William Svenson who have been married for six weeks. William was in town picking up supplies from the general store when the owner asked how his wife & her sister were doing. He also mentioned she asked to have a drawing of their plot of land. He went home and asked his wife where Hillary was, and basically lied out right. The author wrote a interesting story, and the characters made the story come alive. If you like to read about men disciplining their wives, then this story is for you. Enjoy reading it!

This delightful story of William Svenson and his efforts to guide his mail-order bride Meredith into the role of an obedient and truthful partner, is filled with energetic dialogue and excellent DD tension.
Not only has Meredith lied to her husband, but she has done so to help her sister, Hillary, run away for the flimsiest of reasons. William’s brother Jake is left with finding Hillary and giving her a lesson in manners and obedience.
    Short, sweet, and hot.

    Cute story

I liked the story and the characters, however it felt like I was dropped into the middle of a book. Like I got two events but not the whole story. A nice piece but only a piece.
