After a string of brutal murders in Las Vegas, Cassie Hobbes and the Naturals are called in to investigate. But even with the team's unique profiling talents, these murders seem baffling: unlike many serial killers, this one uses different methods every time. All of the victims were killed in public, yet the killer does not show up on any tape. And each victim has a string of numbers tattooed on their wrist. Hidden in the numbers is a code—and the closer the Naturals come to unraveling the mystery, the more perilous the case becomes.
Meanwhile, Cassie is dealing with an equally dangerous and much more painful mystery. For the first time in years, there's been a break in her mother's case. As personal issues and tensions between the team mount, Cassie and the Naturals will be faced with impossible odds—and impossible choices.

Is hurts to breathe. Like just leave me alone, so I can listen to Taylor Swift and DIE kind of hurt. Now I know what you're thinking "oh she's just being overdramatic" but I'm not! I never saw this coming EVER. It has been like 4 hours and I'm still reeling. But besides that All In was so AMAZING!! We got answers, we found out a lot about Slone, I think the next one's going to be about Lia, which is AWESOME because I LOVE HER, we found out a ton of stuff about Cassie's mom/family/EVERYTHING, also cults, who doesn't love a good YA book about cults?! They're intriguing and terrifying all at the same time. The only bad part? All the truly mind blowing stuff that happened I can't even talk about it. D: FIVE GLOWING STARS.
UPDATE
EEEEEEK IT'S NOW 10:37. WILL 12:00 GET HERE BEFORE I DIE!?!
A COVER! A TITLE! AND THE SYNOPSIS! AHHHHHHHH
November?! Whyyyyy? -
Jennifer Lynn Barnes has outdone herself once again.
All in is clever, precisely calculated, and cunning. Perfect for readers like me, who seek books that have a band of misfits, finding love and camaraderie with each other. To spice things up, I am throwing mystery thriller and crime on the equation as well. Obviously, this is the finest selling points.
Everything but true infinity has its end. All mortal men must die. But you were never meant to be mortal. You were born for things such as these.
Tomorrow is the day, and the day will be perfect.
“So it has been decided,” you murmur, “and so it shall be.”
All In open up where Killer Instinct left it off. The Naturals crew is embarking on a new tour, one that has nothing to do with cold cases.
No more restrictions.
They are headed to Las Vegas to probe an on-going investigation about a string of murders.
Three casinos. Three bodies. Three days.
While Cassie on the other hand, discovers a new jarring information about her mother’s disappearance.
In comparison to All In’s predecessors, this latest installment is far superior in terms of length and complexity. All In added new variables to the table. The stakes are much higher. The characters are out of their comfort zone. They are solving a new crime that is completely mundane, yet foreign to them. Everything is much convoluted that the FBI predicted it to be.
The Naturals and Killer Instinct are merely an introduction of the series. It was the characters norming and performing stage. Meanwhile, All In let us have a greater look of the group’s respective background, their hidden desires, fears, their childhood history and more.
Barnes’ explored the in depth relationship and individual arc of our key players. This is the phase where we see them resolve their conflict. They are truly moving forward to become a one coordinated group.
Family.
Home isn’t a place, Cassie. The memory crept up on me. Home is the people who love you most, the people who will always love, forever and ever, no matter what.
As I have always iterate, I tend to have a weakness for series that features a band of family or friends. This book is not an exception, but a perfect example of my favorite trope. I completely love the gang’s unique love and loyalty for each other. This is by far, the series’ most character driven installment.
Similarly, Barnes’ drew a glaring parallel with The Naturals' characters and the UNSUBs. Their resemblance with the criminals, contrasted with their own. That is such an important message to send. Regardless of our history and our driving force, that should never be a legitimate excuse to commit something heinous. That is an astute execution of exploring humanity.
All In is an impressing sequel. This series warrants a strong following. I am highly encouraging everyone to pick it up.

Holy. Crap. This might be my favorite from this series. Jennifer Lynn Barnes just upped the ante (pun intended) on this entire story. We saw so many layers and dimensions for every single character. We also get so many ANSWERS (but also more questions) that we've been waiting for since the first book.
I'm always impressed with how well Barnes weaves such a twisted, sad, terrifying story, but can still have it be full of awesome, witty teenage banter. There are also some really awesome references to the first two books that really tie this whole series together. Each character is believably suffering and reliant on one another. These characters are not perfect and their world is even farther from perfect. A lot of authors would try to make it easier for the characters. They'd soften the impact of the gore and unpleasantness, but Barnes does not do that. She allows these characters to be three dimensional, old yet young, and 100% human in their emotions.
All of our characters grew up in this book and more so, they grew together. There was a really awesome level of camaraderie in this book that wasn't necessarily lacking in the other two books, but seemed like it was still in the developing processes in them. The Cassie/Dean relationship was spot on. The romance didn't take up or overshadow the story. It was just enough to be sweet and pleassnt. It was great to see all the characters open up a bit more. In the first book we learned a lot about Cassie. In the second book we learned a lot about Dean. In this book we learned a lot about everyone: Cassie and her family, Dean, Sloan and her family, Judd, Michael, and Lia. Really, this book was just one enlightening shebang.
Overall, this book is chock full of closure, but has now opened up a whole new line of questioning. It was a great installment that fortified the relationships and development of our characters. It was wholly satisfying. I hope you read it. I hope you love it.

I CANT WAIT.
there is an excerpt out on edelweiss!
http://edelweiss.abovethetreeline.com...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"My father’s gaze flitted back to me. “I need to talk to Cassie.”
Nonna’s eyes narrowed. “And what is it you need to talk to our Cassie about?” Nonna poked him in the chest. Repeatedly. “She is happy at her new school, with her skinny boyfriend.”
I barely registered that assertion. My attention was fully focused on my father. He was slightly disheveled. He looked like he hadn’t slept. He couldn’t quite look me in the eye.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“Nothing,” Nonna said, with the force of a sheriff declaring martial law. “Nothing is wrong.” She turned back to my father. “You tell her nothing is wrong,” she ordered.
My father crossed the room and took my shoulders gently in his hands.
You’re not normally this gentle.
My brain ran through everything I knew about him—our relationship, the type of person he was, the fact that he was here at all. My stomach felt like it had been lined with lead. I knew with sudden prescience what he was going to say. The knowledge paralyzed me. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t blink.
“Cassie,” my father said softly. “It’s about your mother.”"

WHAT! THIS WAS SO CRAZY AND THE WHOLE SERIES JUST GOT SO MUCH MORE COMPLEX JENNIFER LYNN BARNES IS AN ACTUAL GENIUS OK I'M GOING TO GO AND CRY NOW BECAUSE IM SCARED BYE -
Jennifer Lynn Barnes became one of my favourite authors when I read the first The Naturals book. Because of these books, I started the tv show Criminal Minds, and fell in love. When I heard that book three, All In, wouldn't be published in the UK, I knew I'd have to order a copy online, and that's just what I did. I devoured this book in only three hours, and have fallen in love with Barnes' writing all over again.
Cassie has now worked on a few cases with the FBI, and has found her place, and her people. After three murders in as many days in Las Vegas, her and the other Naturals are called in to assist the FBI case. Cassie, recovering from her recent kidnapping, finds herself discovering that her mother's disappearance may not be all that it first appeared. We learn more about her fellow Naturals too. After hearing the backstories of Cassie and Dean in the previous books, in this book we learnt more about Sloane, and her upbringing. Sloan has been a favourite of mine from the start, and I loved seeing and learning more about her. With every book, each character becomes more real, and I seriously hope that there will be more books in this series, if only to learn about Michael and Lia more.
That'll bring me onto the end of the book. The whole series is about Cassie, and mainly about her mother's disappearance, and this book just raised more questions, than answers. The book ended with such a cliffhanger, that it is almost implausible to consider that we won't find out the truth about her mother. I'm dying for another The Naturals book, and know I'm not the only on - Disney-Hyperion, please publish more! -
Forgot how badly this one kills you on the inside
No offence, The Naturals, but Killer Instinct was a step up from you. No offence, Killer Instinct, but All In just killed you. I don't know how book #4 is going to blow you out of the water, All In, but I am so fucking ready. -
The Naturals series is brilliant, with each book even better than the previous one. Jennifer Lynn Barnes cements her place at the top of YA fiction with the multi-layered, complex, and jaw-dropping All In. Though Sloane has an obvious connection to this Vegas-based mystery, the decades-long serial killer case also draws in the history of both father figure Judd and series narrator Cassie. Too bad we have to wait until November for Book 4, Bad Blood. P.S. Lia continues to be the most awesome character that deserves her own book. Each new thing we learn about her makes her even more fascinating.
SERIES RECOMMENDATION
NOTE: I originally posted this at
Speculative Chic.
Upon hearing the premise for Jennifer Lynn Barnes's YA crime series The Naturals, I was sceptical. Teens working for the FBI sounded more fantasy than contemporary. But I gave the first book a chance, and it isn't bad as I feared. Killer Instinct is definitely an improvement, and I was well and truly hooked.
But the series really shows its genius in Book 3, All In. It must've been a nightmare to research and organise, because it involves the Fibonacci sequence. And the serial killer case carries over into the series closer, Bad Blood, which is mind-blowing brilliant.
This is exactly how a series should be: consistently high quality. I recommend The Naturals series to anyone and everyone if given the chance. If you can suspend your disbelief in regards to the premise, you'll be rewarded above and beyond. It's essential for any YA or crime bookshelf. -
Yes, I DID devour this and book #2 in a day. Yes, I did have more pressing things to do. Yes, I am addicted.
No, I have no regrets.
(Except the EXCRUCIATING sequel wait that has just set in.)
And yes, I do absolutely appreciate the absence of a love triangle in this one, and especially the integration of all previous plots into a complex, overarching mystery that has upped the ante tenfold.
Which will make the aforementioned sequel wait that much worse. My sympathies to all who have suffered from the start.
And my sincere recommendation to YA mystery lovers who are as late to this party as I am. Read this and suffer with me! -

Review is coming soon! -
my power has been out all day and i read a concerning amount of books
but this was so interesting i genuinely loved this series sm. it was basically criminal minds on steroids, and i was livinggg for it. they even said “wheels up in five” <3
the plot twists in this book alone were so superior to any in the inheritance games or the hawthorne legacy, but nothing can compare to the last book -
такого финала я не ожидала, у меня аж мурашки хР
-
Holy hell.
That was my reaction after I finished this book because damn, to end a book with that information Jen gave us should be illegal!!
Okay but I gotta say, last 20% got real creepy so that was great but overall the book was pretty eh?? I'm not sure what but something was just lacking and it makes me sad because I love this series with all my heart. Though I'm blessed with the gang and their interactions with each other and that made me so happy, I missed them so much! I did feel like there was so much stuff going on but nothing really was happening? Does that even make sense, sigh I don't even know but yeah.
Anyways, is it just me or we all know that each of these books are kinda one of the Natural's book. Like this one felt like Sloane's book and previous two were Cassie and Dean's, you know? So.. I shall say that I'm waiting for my baby Michael's book... I just really need a book about Michael okay, I need to read about him dealing with all his stuff and I need him happy, pronto! -

I believe this is my favourite series by Jennifer. She’s seriously has a way to write about the profiling that makes this series really addictive.
I was happy to find myself back with the team and see what new unsub they were going to have to profile and I was served. I love to see how their minds work on this. I love that their personalities don’t change, but evolve due to growing up, but they are basically the same people.
And the romance is there without being there. You know that Dean and Cassie are together (if I spoiled this for you, then you haven’t read the first two books, so go now lol), but it’s not their main focus. You see that they are there for each other without making it more important than what they have to do. Even when a body is discovered and is to believe that it could be her mother’s, it’s still kept low-key and is mostly like a background sound to what is happening in this book. Yes, Cassie wants to know more about it, but she is mature enough to know that it’s not her top priority and that the team needs her to be as focus as them on the murders that are occurring in Vegas.
In this book, you get to learn more about Sloane and where she comes from and the kind of upbringing she had. I really felt for her and it was strange to see her being so affected by everything when you know she’s all about the statistics. She went through a lot in this book and I just wanted to hug her. I was really happy to see her confide in Cassie and letting her help her get through it. Sloane’s brain is put to a lot of good use in this book and she works overtime and I’m surprised she isn’t brain dead after all these searches.
We learn a little bit about Lia too or maybe it’s not as obvious, but I really hope book 4 will give us more insight into her past. She’s such an interesting character that you might dislike for her honesty or her lack of sensitivity sometimes, but even if she doesn’t say it or show it in the most obvious ways, she cares about them all.
And Michael. What can I say about Michael? Oh, he’s still the same. Acting like he doesn’t care about what happened with Cassie, but you can tell that it’s all a lie. Him and her will have a conversation that I hope will eventually bring some sort of peace between the two of them. I really liked how Cassie handled that conversation with it.
And now, the murders. Oh I was really intrigued about finding out how all these victims could connect and who was behind all of it and oh my god, Jennifer didn’t not disappoint. I don’t know where she gets her ideas, but I hope she never runs out of them. It kept me guessing until the end and the ending just had me gripping my eReader and hoping there were more pages because she couldn’t leave us on that. She couldn’t. But yes, she did and now I want book four like yesterday.
I recommend this series so much. If you like TV shows like CSI or Criminal Minds, you will probably enjoy this series. -

Reading this book for the second time and still couldn't figure out who the killer was.
Rating 4.5-5 stars
You know THE BOOK that you want EVERYONE, their mother, father and uncles to read. For me it's this whole series. Due to the fact that it got my blood pumping like I was running a marathon. And let me tell you something, I've never ran a marathon before.
Three murders. Three days. Three casinos. Different methods. Yet, one thing stays the same. Numbers tattooed on the victims wrists. Our gang is once again thrown into a world of deception, insanity and most of all- murder.
This is the best book in the series so far. So many exciting things happened, plot twists that snatched my wig and events which had me wiping the drool off my face. I'm ashamed of the last one And it's in Las Vegas!
I LOVED everything about this book, BUT there are two characters that annoyed my inner bitch: Cassie and Dean. Like, seriously? I liked every other side character including THE SERIAL KILLER except for those two. Let me explain:
Cassie: I'm such a nice girl! I only care about other people. I don't care about who killed my mother if I could give another child peace. Oh! and Dean understands me without saying anything AT ALL. We don't talk, touch. Or do anything together. but he understands me so well. I'm in love.
Dean: No one cares about me even though they would do anything for me. Cassie almost dies: it's time for a kiss! broodbroodbroodbrood and glares at Michael every two seconds.
Individually, I liked them enough. But together, they made me barf internally and externally. They were too goody two shoes for my taste. And We never actually see them that much together. And when Cassie is thinking about a boy. It's Michael and his feelings. It's like if Juliette stayed with Adam and thought about Warner all the damn time.
Except for those two-everything else was spectacular. And I'm pretty sure I'm the only special snowflake who didn't love Cassie and Dean.
Let's move to the non-annoying characters, Lia shined in this book. We get a glimpse of her backstory. She's funny, vulnerable and strong, all at once. I loved every sentence she said.
Lia making a play about Cassie and Dean's relationship:
"I'm a dark and angsty profiler,"she intoned. "No,"she countered in a falsetto, bringing her other hand up,"I'm a dark and angsty profiler. Ours is a star-crossed love".
I wish this book was about her, it would've been soo much fun.
Michael is being his amazing arrogant self as always. And bad things happen to him. I felt personally attacked when
Sloan, made me want to keep her in my arms in a protective mama-bear way, the whole entity of this book. We see way more of Sloan this time around. And she may or may not have touched my non-existent maternal instinct.
We also find out about her family background and
One thing is for certain, even if you didn't like the characters that much, the writing, relationships: you won't be able to put this book down. It's captivating, interesting and one of the most exciting stories I've ever read. Definitely Recommended: especially during a book slump.
Thank you for reading this review and hope you have a good day. -
Trigger warnings: murder, violence, domestic abuse, death of a loved one, shitty parenting.

I stand by everything I said last time, except that this time I have the fourth book ready and waiting for me.
25/11/2017
4.5 stars.
I sped through this in a couple of hours this afternoon and I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. I mean, I really liked the first two books in the series because, like, it's a YA version of Criminal Minds. Of COURSE I really liked them.
But this one? This one somehow took things to the next level. I think it's because the characters are finally in the field, actively working on cases, and therefore the stakes are higher. The stakes are also higher where the overarching mystery of the series is concerned, and I'm really annoyed at myself that I didn't pick up the fourth book as well as this one before I left work on Friday, because I REALLY WANT TO KNOW HOW IT'S ALL GOING TO END OMG.
Basically? This was GREAT. -
Brilliant as expected. All the mathematical aspects in the plot hurt my head a little (am I or am I not an engineering major? #fraud), and OMG THE TENSION. I was stressed the f out while reading this, tbh.
And heartbreaking moments (SLOANE MY BABY) are heartbreaking. Shed quite a lot of tears reading this one compared to the previous two books.
Can't wait for book 4! -
Guys, this was soooooooooo good. My head is all over the place. What is even happening? Barnes is a genius with the way she weaves story lines, multiple story lines, crimes, everyone's pasts, emotions, relationships. There is so much happening but it all works together to bring this intense mind fuck. Where we are in Cassie's story now is just wow. How did that even happen? Brilliant.

Наконец-то серия разогналась. По-настоящему.
На отзыв нет ни времени, ни сил, но... Если вас увлекла история, то ни в коем случае не бросайте. Чую, лучшее еще впереди)) -
Jennifer Lynn Barnes,
You outdid yourself.

3.75
Man, I wish I had read this later. I actually read this immediately after I finished
Crooked Kingdom and if you've read it, you know how it takes time to get over before you read something else. I made a mistake and started this book wayy too early, therefore the 3.75 stars. I do believe it's probably the best after the first book but because of the time I read it, I couldn't enjoy it much and it took me days to get through this book.
First, let's talk about characters. I complained about her female characters being all the same but after reading this and some more of the authors' other work, I can finally say that while the starting point of the characters is the same, they end up in extremely different places by the end. Cassie becomes so strong and grows into a powerful woman, and I actually really loved how smart she (and the naturals) were. This book focuses A LOT on Sloane, the last book was Dean, it's sloane now and it fixed the problem of me not liking Sloane very much and thinking she was a little underdeveloped. She is a force, and you don't wanna mess with her, I promise. Dean was again really supportive and nice. Micheal being Micheal and making me swoon. Lia is a badass.
And the mystery which was the best of the book, I LOVED the mystery element in each and everyone one of her books. She writes books I want to write and read. This series has fueled my love for plot twists so much. It's so complex and I like the fact that each and every book deals with its own mystery while having a bigger more complex mystery of her mother. It literally reads like high budget mystery show. Jennifer Lynn Barnes is a genius, she's a queen and I love her so much.
I've probably said this before but the psychology aspect of her books is wonderful. Cassie is constantly profiling people, observing and deducing and the best part is that because the author has a degree in psychology, she gets the facts right.
I don't have complaints at all except the fact that my dumbass read this at the wrong time and probably the fact that my favourite character Michael wasn't given as much page time as I would liked. -
I love Barnes's books simply for the fun, unique take on things that only she seems to be able to offer. Add in plots that are both well designed, executed, and original and you are always in for a treat.
The Naturals series had me hooked from the very first book and seems to be getting better as it goes. A fun series about young teenage profilers that it is hard to resist.
I love this rag tag group of people that not only over time have learned to be friends but a family too.
Each with unique abilities, traits, personalities, and things to offer, this series really had become a favorite of mine. It is hard to resist all the characters and how they interact with one another and how dang smart and attention detailed they really are.
Add in the new twists to the plot that were reveled all set in the fast paced life of Las Vegas Nevada and I 'm salivating to get my hands on the next book. I won't go into any more detail but I will say that if you are looking for something fun, mysterious and a lot like Criminal Minds for teens, this in the series for you. -
Wow! Just Wow! It was worth waiting for this one!
It was all I dreamt about and even more. Definitely better that the second part! If you loved the first book don't miss this one -
The Naturals Series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes might be my favorite YA series of all time. I devour each new book with a passion I don’t experience often with books, having read so many. Here are just a couple of the many reasons why I LOVE it:
The concept!! The series revolves around teens who are ridiculously talented in certain areas useful to crime solving (emotion-gadgers, statistical-analysists, lie-detectors, and so on). What I love is that these talents are totally feasible (albeit rare), so it feels like reading about real-world superheroes. It fascinated me to no end to see their analytical skills put to the test. My favorite was probably Sloane – the statistician. She’s really quirky and endearing, but also incredibly smart, using numbers and statistics to predict where the killer would strike next, deciphering commonalities for whom the killer might target, and analyzing things like security camera footage to pinpoint criminals based on trajectory and all sorts of other complicated math that I only half pretend understand (;P). All In gave Sloane more of a spotlight and it was awesome to get to know her even better.
Basically, take these cool characters with cool talents and add to that a complex mystery, and I’m in love.
As if it wasn’t fun enough reading about these super talents, the mystery within each novel is what I think really draws me in. It’s nothing like those old Nancy Drew novels where the criminal is always the nicest persona in the book. In the Naturals series, the killer could literally be anyone, and Barnes does a masterful job of incorporating a lot of plausible misdirection to keep you guessing. When I read these novels, I always have SO MANY THEORIES about who the killer could be. And each new chapter gets me that much closer to figuring it out. It’s seriously the most engaged I’ve ever been in a book, making it also one of the funnest books I’ve ever read. Additionally, each book gets more complex without also getting more convoluted. There’s a different mystery in each novel, but they are all tied together by one big story arc (that’s also a complex mystery) which has gained so much momentum that I’m absolutely DYING to read Bad Blood (the final book in the series) which comes out November 1, 2016.
In fact, I think the reason I loved All In in particular was that it did an excellent job advancing the overall story arc while still giving me a killer mystery to help solve (I say “help” ironically… I didn’t do shit). All In also delved into a bit more background of The Naturals (the characters, as that’s how they refer to themselves) and you start to see even more how they ended up with such honed talents. Ugh, I really can’t say much more than that without dipping into spoilers, so I’ll leave it at that.
Overall, for any of you Criminal Minds fans out there, this is the series for you! This is one of my favorite books to recommend because 1) I love geeking out about it 2) it’s one of the most engaging books I’ve ever read and 3) I think it appeals to a wide range of readers. I call a lot of things my favorite, but I really, really mean it this time, haha. :)

I am freaking out. Jennifer's books are so amazing. I'd have to say that this one's my favorite so far in this series. The way things are turning out and how entwined Cassie's mom is in the whole situation... it's crazy! I cannot wait for the next book. So long! And it just got here!
-
There was *~a lot~* going on in this book, but it held my interest throughout. I really like the cast of characters and their interactions with each other, and I'm looking forward to the fourth/last? book.
-
This is a little weird since I swear I finished this series....
-
These books are literally so easy to read in one sitting. The mix of short chapters plus a quick pace and shorter book is just perfect.
This was good, but the first two were better. It was actually boring at parts, and for the entire first half of the book it was just rehashing everyone's emotional problems and how traumatized they were by their childhoods and blah blah blah we get it! We don't have to talk about it for almost 200 pages, the point has already been made in the previous two books.
Also, I don't know if this'll make sense, but this one seemed less realistic somehow than the last two? Even though the whole premise of the series is unrealistic, so it sounds weird to say this book was less realistic, but I just feel like the introduction of cults just put it a little too far out there. And going back to the 1800s? And then tying it all in to her mom? I don't know, I wasn't buying it.
Also I really wanted to see Sloane playing poker and totally destroying all the professionals but we didn't get that and I'm kind of sad.
Butttt, with all that said, I still really liked the ending and I can't wait to see how everything ties together in the next book. And Laurel?? Ahh I loved her and she and Cassie are so similar, so she's exactly what that poor baby needs to recover from her super traumatic 3 years of life.
I also liked how much Judd played a role in this book, we love him.
And I did really like the way the Michael thing was resolved, like yes! He was your first friend, so of course you felt for him, he was the first person to make you open up. And I really want them to be friends so I was super happy with that. Also Sloane and Michael? Anyone? I'd absolutely love to see that in the next book. -
This was another good read to the series. At least we learned some important things and were surprised along the way. I'm definitely interested in seeing how the last book goes. I just hope it all ends well.
