    Fast paced afternoon read!

The Assassin's Trail was my first visit to the fantastic land of Korovia, and I found it as full of adventure, danger, and some mystery/ drama as it promised to be. I was quickly drawn into the culture and belief systems of the MC's home land, and those of the wider variety of people and creatures in the surrounding lands. Author Charles Moffat does a great job bringing out imaginative encounters, unique challenges, and surprising character developments, with plenty of good old fashioned battle action and some wisdom of the elders thrown in for good measure.

My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, I could tell the author has a massive vision for the scenes and world, history and culture, but it didn't always come out as much as I'd have liked. Personal preference, I love the details, the in depth dialogue, and the behind the scenes scheming! Otherwise highly recommended for the action adventure fantasy fan! Give it a try!

Great fantasy read for archers and archery fans!

It's been awhile since I've read a medieval fantasy book, and this one was pretty good read. It's a shorter story, but it definitely left me wanting more.
I liked the explanations about the combat situations, especially the focus on archery. As a practitioner of archery, I can confirm that the author knew what he was talking about.
I would have liked some more in depth details about the characters, but I expect that there's more in the later books. There were also a few grammatical errors, so it could definitely benefit from an edit. I realize this is the first edition, so I'm sure this will be resolved in future editions. (I wouldn't mind having the job of editor for this one, actually.)
Overall, a good fantasy book with some memorable characters and great battles. I'll be checking out more of the series (which hopefully contains more archery) in the future.
