The book is a smooth quick read, which provides a small insight of the path to success. I think John Piper covers only the tip of the iceberg with his 10 secrets and to my opinion the whole content can be summerised on a blog post with bullet points, which would look something like this:
1st secret: Change is in your will
2nd secret: Action
3rd secret: Failure is Progress
- Leadership means character - those little steps and ideas you pull when in a crowd that affect others.
4th secret: Keep the Cost of Failure Low!
- test each product or idea, before even beginning to develop it!
5th: Perseverance - no pain - no gain!
- You gotta put the work into businesswork...
6th: Mentorship: there is no faster way to get by than working with someone who has already done what you wanna do.
7th: Teamwork: just having another person beside you to discuss your business can be vital.
8th: Make sure you're capitalising all the Angles: keep a list of your customers - an email list at the very least. Building a network of business contacts is essential.
9th: Set your mind straight: Clarity is vision.
10th: The magic of giving!
Still, for those who are waiting on the bus stop and prefer to get motivated for 30 mins rather than browsing their facebook, I'd recommend this book to them!
