I always thought I had luck on my side.

Things seemed to go in my favour, whether by will or by nature.

But that luck just ran out.

Jobless and on the verge of being homeless, I find a strength in me that I didn’t even know existed and discover an unlikely savior --- Tag.

He avoids commitment like the plague, and starting anything with him will only lead to heartbreak.

I know this.

He knows this.

So why am I still here?

Oh, right. Because I want him more than I want my next breath.

I have very mixed feelings on this book. The story in general, excluding the ending, was nice. It was well written, the dialogue was relatable and the flow of everything was on point. Interestingly enough this book has an average of four stars on GoodReads.

My problem begins on the last few chapters. I have a very strong opinion when it comes to a few subjects. One of those subjects got approached in this book: Cheating. Even though Tag says he didn't go through with it, it'll always be there, in the back of her mind. I can guarantee you that next time he does something she doesn't like the first thing out of her mouth will be that incident. I simply don't care if your last girlfriend made you go down this road. In my book, it's something you just don't do, period.

So considering my rant, I had a problem with Tag as a person toward the end. Don't get me wrong, if he wants to sleep around while NOT in a relationship it's his prerogative and he can go right on ahead without judgment on my part, but the moment he's committed to someone and he starts reverting back to his old ways I'm DONE.

I even started getting upset with Clara (P.S. It took me a few minutes to actually remember her name just now). Why would she knowingly go into a "casual relationship" while knowing he's going to break her heart? Why would she consider changing herself for a guy who couldn't care less and that she had known all of 2 weeks? Call me hard headed, but it just doesn't sit well with me.

Overall this series has been going downhill for me. I've been persevering through every book, but I'm already seeing in a near future me giving up on this series. The books have been getting less and less interesting, even though I can't tell you what actually bothered me in the last book.

    UPDATE: Reread, May 2019
    ======================

    short read

Well, I got the message loud and clear with his rejection. We were friends, and friends only.

He closes the space between us. “I haven’t slept with the same woman twice in a long ass time.” My eyes flare at his admission. “I don’t think that’s something to be proud about.”

He sighs, rubbing his hand over his bald head. “This whole thing is messed up. I’ve only hooked up with one woman since you moved in, and I normally…”

“I have needs,” he says in a low tone, so only I can hear.

Still, with wanting you so much since the second you stepped into my life, I still fucked another woman that one night. That’s who I am, and you can’t change me, so if you want to, then we’re both going to be wasting our time.”

“Are you saying that you’re still going to fuck around if we’re together?” I ask, eyebrows furrowing. “That’s the thing, Sweetheart. We won’t be together. Casual is casual.”

Summer smirks. “Ryan used to use that room as a fuck pad before he settled down.”

Even if you’re not serious about me, I’m serious about you. I’m yours Tag, even if you’re not mine.”

“You want something from me I can’t give you,” he replies, voice sounding hoarse.

“Tag!” A woman calls out. My eyes bore into his. “Of course,” I whisper. “You’re always single.”

He was Tag, the man who was afraid to commit and was going to ruin what we had because of it.

I purse my lips. “If I didn’t drop by today, would you have slept with her?”

“Tag, you were just with another woman. At your house. I don’t know what you expect from me.”

“Why was she at your house?” I fire back. He sighs, cringing. “She asked me out. I said yes.”

Didn't like him. Selfish self centred womaniser.

Didn't like her. Whiny weak pushover willing to put up with him being with other women as well as her (loser).

    Stupid story.

easy to read, short and sweet

The only good thing about this book is its lenght. Seriously, if it would be a regular book and not novella, I would give up after few pages. The story is the same like the first two books only with different names - possessive man, woman who thinks that she is not good enough (even though she's hot AF), sex, MISUNDERSTANDING - always!!!, sex and proposal.

I didn't expect some high romance story but this was just pointless and I rolled my eyes so many times how stupid it was.

Not sure about this, it's a short novella, but I felt it could have been better as a full length book. I liked both Tag and Clara and although Tag has been a minor character up until now, I do think as a couple they could have held their own. I felt that the ending was too rushed and abrupt.

She's into him, he wants to be friends but when push comes to shove he can't resist and wants friends with benefits type thing. She's clear she's into him and he blows hot and cold all the while trying to control her. Nothing to different from a host of books but it passed my time pleasently enough.

I loved Tag since the beginning of this series and let me just say that his story didn't disappoint!

Just the perfect alpha, cocky, possesive, asshole, tattoed, dawg man! Aahhh one can dream about getting one of these kind... *sigh*

    LOVED IT ❤️

“Sometimes, knights in shining armour are disguised.
Sometimes they are covered in tattoos, curse, and talk dirty.”

Dying for Xander's book... Feb can come soon enough!

    Thanks
Chantal Fernando for such amazing writing! ❤️

I didn't think the author could make the series any worse, but she succeeded with this book.

  • Mojo_Mama

This was too much shit crammed into a novella. There was no time for any kind of build up or explanation of why the H/h felt/acted the way they did. The h’s side plot was so big and not enough effort made to explore it. Perhaps if that had been left out more time could have been left to character and plot development.

What can i say.. I loved this book. I really liked the character Tag in this authors other book Maybe This Time. He was a ladies man and sexy hot and mysterious.
    Now i love him!!
He meets Clara and she brings out the protective side of him and emotions he just doesn't want to define. As their relationship grows, Clara has doubts and reservations due to Tag's previous playboy ways and commitment phobia.
This is a great read, the chemisty leaps out at you, there's humour and its a total page turner that you wont want to set down !!
I love Clara's approach, she's sassy and strong yet vunerable!
A definite read, when you want something quick, hot and absorbing !!!

It was a nice novella, it was great that Tag the manwhore finally met a girl right for him. He meets Clara by accident and they become inseparable. I liked Clara she was sweet and they were great together. It was great seeing Summer, Ryan and Xander. It was great Tag got get his woman.

I have a problem with short novels, there is just not enough for the relationship build up. That’s the case with this book as well. It’s mostly insta love, denial, casual hook-ups, feelings but let’s break-up, back together, hea. And that all in about 100 pages. I didn’t like the H, he was giving the h the impression he liked her but has sex with OW in the meantime. She’s shocked when she finds out about this, but can’t say anything because they’re not together. He didn’t cheat, but if he had feelings for the h then why is he hooking-up with some random woman? He tells her it was only one woman, while normally he had OW in his bed every other night. Classy! He didn’t want to pursue the h because of the age gap, so he rejects her. But he can’t stand it when another guy makes a move at her. So he can have all the fun, but she must remain celibate? Such double standards. I hate those hero’s and with the books I read recently, there’s quite a lot of them these days. Why do writers think this type of hero is attractive? Now at the end he accepts a date with OW and they’re at his place when the h knocks on the door. Then all of a sudden he realizes she’s the one he wants. He only agreed on the date with the OW because she asked him to and he said yes. Well, that makes it all okay then! When she asks him if he would’ve had sex with the OW if she did’t show up at his doorstep he doesn’t answer the question. That says it all right, you have your answer right there and it’s a capital YES. They have a hea, because he changed his manwhore ways in 100 pages.

What I love about reading is connecting. This story between Tag and Clara hit home. I am in a similar situation like Clara and her father. We actually haven't spoken in years. He cheated, had another family. The only different is my mom wised up and kicked him out when she found out. He is a stranger to me. I kind of had hero worship for my dad. He was good to his family, went to work, every day, and gave us anything we could wish for. The true was he cheated every chance he got, and I even heard he harassed women. I disappoint and devastation done to family, including grandparents, aunts, and uncles was more than ever dreamed.
Anyway, Tag does tell Clara the truth. He is always single, no commitments. Of course Clara isn't built that way but goes along for the sake of having Tag. Thank God he came to his senses quickly because many a woman including myself would have kept him in the friend zone after he make it perfectly clear we could never be serious.

The story is okay. After reading the first two books in the series I was hoping Tag might get together with Isis. Instead we have Clara, and that was fine. The story moves quickly from there... and that was okay too. The storyline with Clara and her dad was really rushed, and the ending seems a bit like scotch tape holding up crinkly gift wrap. It covers the package but it doesn’t really do the story justice.

I got the wrong book. I thought I bought T % T again by Chatham Greenfield!!!! This was a mistake. I'm still laughing!!

I couldnt figure out how this book could be on Reese Witherspoon's book club recommendation!!!

Plot simple. Book short. Not really bad but... I was so dumbfounded I probably didn't give it much of a chance.

I loved reading Time and Time Again it reinforced how much I love Chantal Fernando’s work. Clara was an amazing strong women who found herself jobless and on the verge of being homeless whilst also dealing with family issues. Bumping into Tag changed not only her life but also the man known as a player. The romance and passion was hot and sexy between Clara and Tag and showed his dominant alpha side. Tag had always kept women from getting to close not looking for a relationship but with Clara all his defences kept falling away and he found himself unable to stay away and became her hero. I loved the angst between Tag and Clara it was just enough to still see deep down how much Tag had fallen for Clara. The epilogue was beautiful and I was left wanting more from this short novella. I loved seeing Summer, Reid, Ryan and Xander feature in this but I would love to catch up with them in their own novellas, as news of weddings and pregnancies were announced and I felt that as I reader I missed out on that after falling in love with these characters since the release of the first book.
