It's Kindle freebie romance time again! Local TV co-hosts Megan and Adam have been spatting on the air, with Adam trying to get a rise out of Megan at the instigation of their smarmy producer, Leon. But really Adam just wants Megan to like him. And even though Megan can't stand Adam when he's baiting her, we still get this by page 10:
Oh, heavens. She was falling for Adam Warner.
And somehow we go from here to dates that are streamed online, and some kind of weird Bachelorette shenanigans, and a televised marriage, and two people who can't communicate about their real feelings...
Anyway, this one is silly but harmless. Off to the "fluffier than marshmallows" shelf it goes.
Usually you get what you pay for, and this book is no exception. Recommended for hardcore sweet-and-clean romance readers only. -

I saw a lot of potential in the first couple of pages. Megan and her co-host in the show were fighting and it was interesting. A few pages later, Megan fell in love with Adam just like that. That was the first reason I DNFed this book.
Insta-love is the absolutely worst mistake an author can make that ruins a story. If she is in love already what am I going to read about later? I needed an intro of their interaction, a bit more fight and then I was expecting them to realise their feelings while they were forced to date. That's the interesting stuff and that is how it was supposed to go. Yet, Megan just fell in love in the first chapter, misunderstood Adam and planned her revenge for no reason.
Adam is introduced as a player and a mean jerk. In no time he turns out to be a caring gentleman who loves animals and makes Megan melt just watching him with a racoon. Yeah, what a great reason to fall in insta-love with someone. The mystery was gone and I was bored. I would prefer if that side of Adam was a secret for most of the book and Megan found out after a couple of dates.
And say I could ignore all this; what I couldn't ignore was the fact that there was a third person POV and we were kept away from their thoughts and feelings. Someone who write in third person POV, knows that feelings and thoughts are still important to be able to understand what's in their head. It wasn't completely bad but most of the chapters were like this: date plans description>>date description>>date plans description again>>date description again>>some revenge plotting and a couple of thoughts and then>>date description again. This is really tiring and I don't want to know just about their dates. I want to get to know more about their characters through their interactions in their daily lifes.
Anyway it's sad that I had to drop it but seriously, I tried it to read the whole thing but I just couldn't make it to 30%.
Poorly written,tiring writting style and bad character description. I do not have to mention insta-love and stupid misunderstandings with unnecessary drama. Plus, it was not funny or fluffy or anything like what people were saying it was. I am completely disappointed and the book practically represents everything I hate. -
I think Amazon has been recommending this to me, but I was mixing it up with
Accidentally Married with the similar cover design, and blond on the cover. After reading Accidentally Married last night, I was glad to be wrong, and find that Victorine Lieske had more books for me to read.
Megan and Adam co-star on a morning show on their local television network. When Adam makes a comment that riles Megan on-air, and she fights back, views increase, and their producer encourages Adam to keep needling Megan on-air. But Adam doesn't want to fight, and when their bantering turns into an invitation for a date, Megan is not sure what to do. She goes through with a filmed romance, hoping to forward her career, while Adam tries to prove that he's not the jerk he was pretending to be. When ABC offers them a TV show where they will get married at the end, Megan wonders if their pretending has gone too far. What of any of their relationship has been real?
I loved Megan and Adam and their bantering. Even when they were supposedly fighting on the show, it was never downright mean, and I was able to see the potential for them to fall in love. I loved their dates, the humor, and the way they confided in one another. Once again the characters were developed, and the romance was believable.

This is a cute book. I thought the premise was a bit cliche, but it was still fun to read.
Early morning talk show hosts are pitted against each other, then coerced into dating, only to agree to a marriage for their careers and money. Somewhere along the way, they fell in love.
The book contains a lot of humor and funny situations. It is clean with kissing. -
This was a super cute fake relationship story. I liked both the main characters and and was definitely rooting for them. While it could have been maybe a little better plotted, I just enjoyed reading it so much that I'm bumping my rating up to 4 stars. I also thought this was a good example of how a Romance can still bring all the feelings without any of the graphic content, which is always a plus in my book.

I liked the first book more, but this was still a fun read.
Megan is a new co-host for a small town morning show. She doesn’t get along well with her co-star Adam, which translates to higher ratings because apparently everyone likes to tune in to see them fight. I would have liked to have seen them as co-hosts a little more and I never got why they both acted like they were barely getting by financially. It’s like they were caught between being celebrities and just regular-Joes. Anyway, their sleazy producer decides to play up their animosity and bring in a relationship expert who says they have hidden feelings for each other and a spin-off dating show is born.
They go on a few days to see if there could be anything more between them and I guess still do their morning show at the same time. Their dating show goes well and the producer pitches the show to ABC who loves it and offers them their own show if they agree to marry at the end. I thought it was totally random to bring in three other bachelors, I would have preferred if the time had just been spent with Adam and Megan. The “Bachelor” feel didn’t make sense to me. The end wraps up quickly, they get engaged and married.
Overall, I just thought this one was okay. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and thought the “deep” moments or character backstory didn’t really mesh with the lighthearted feel of the story.

Victorine E . Lieske pens a powerful roller coaster of a ride with this unexpected romance... the twists and turns kept the pages turning, and the characters were so easy to love you were rooting for them from the first chapter onward!
The author did a wonderful job making a fresh, funny romance with plenty of heart and a lot of depth... resulting in a book that lingers on the mind like a sweet fragrance.
You'll wish we could all be so ... Reluctantly Married. -
After reading “Accidentally Married,” I was expecting “Reluctantly Married” to be more humorous with an entertaining storyline. The best words to describe this book are cliché and dull. I did not feel comfortable with the relationship between Megan and Adam, because it was hard to tell what was real vs. acting. The remaining cast members were weak and poorly developed. The story was neither uplifting nor depressing. There were poignant moments, such as when Adam struck a small deer and held it close before it died, but these were few. Although “Reluctantly Married” is book two in “The Marriage” series, this is a stand-alone book.

Again another short sweet story. These types of books just suck me in and I can't put down. Very easy to read. Looking forward to the next book

This was an incredibly short read. The premise suggested it would be a light, fun read - I just didn't really enjoy it and found it quite dull, boring and lacking a spark. There just was no spark from the book, no chemistry between the two Main Characters and without that, I just couldn't muster up any enthusiasm for this book.
The 'banter' between the two Main Characters wasn't as humorous or as flirty as I was expecting. The main heroine goes from hating the hero's guts to being attracted to him within minutes, all because she finds out he cares for a baby Koala. Yes, I can see how incredibly sweet that is, but the fact that the heroine changed her opinion about the hero so quick just made me go "Eurgh" and took away my enthusiasm for this book.
And then the whole 'fake' relationship specialist convincing the hero he's in love with the heroine within minutes was just bleurgh.
This book was an incredibly short read with vomit-inducing cheesiness. I just didn't really care much for this book. I'm sure if I could have looked past the poorly written narratives, I would have maybe liked this book - but I think I liked the idea behind this book, more than the actual book. And besides, you can't really like a book, if you don't like the main characters as you don't really care what happens to them.
Meh. This book just made me feel meh. That's just my opinion though, others may enjoy it, it just wasn't for me.

Okay so he is a jerk on set but off the set he seems like a nice guy... I am getting whiplash here from him... Dang the first time I wrote my review my first words were that I wanted to slap his pretty face (assuming he has a pretty face) because of the way he acted on the set so I had to erase that when I come to find out he is not such a jerk off the set. Holy Crap that was so funny (the incident at the skating rink).

Sometimes we fail to see who or what is right in front of us out of fear or necessity. Which for Megan Holloway, co-host of a local morning show is true. You see she works with Adam Warner, a handsome, successful, young, good looking, ego gobbler, jerk. Oh, yeah did I say sexy hot? So, you get the picture.
Problem being he knows it. When the sign “On Air” goes on he is an egotistical jerk. When it goes off he is kind and a gentleman. So, who is the real Adam? That is who Megan is trying to figure out. Yet, she just can’t get a handle on him.
When the bantering on air gets going the audience eats it up. And one day it goes viral. They become an overnight success. Then, Leon, the producer starts making scenarios to bump up their ratings even more. But it is always at her expense.
The more time Adam and Megan spend together the more they feel and they like it. Making this all worth it. But yet, not letting anyone gets jammed up. Then ABC offered them their own dating show only catch is she has to marry Adam at the end. Not so bad, right? But every company show has a Leon so nothing goes as planned and neither does their feelings.
This was a fun story. It really is clean for all ages. Characters were funny and sincere. They had family issues that were real and heartbreaking. I give this: 5++++ stars. Follow us at:

I've read a few reality show theme about dating and found this one suited my taste. Some readers hated it calling it insta-love. But, that's the thing, it's not. Megan was physically attracted to Adam. After going out on dates and getting to know him, only then she realized she love him beyond that. Insta-love for me would be meeting for the first time and suddenly head over heel; akin to love at the first sight, usually used in mail-order bride/groom theme. To each their own and I respected that.
We got Megan and Adam, co-host on a morning show for a small tv station. Their banter was what kept the show alive and their producer wanted to spice thing up. And that's how they both end up on a dating reality show. The concept was simple. Adam was in love with Megan and the show was about him convincing her he's the one while she get to know other men.
I guess I'm going to hunt down for more Lieske's work. -
This is meant to be a romantic comedy, I say meant to be because ultimately it was boring and not funny at all. The two lead characters are co hosts on a morning show he’s a scumbag to her and she retaliates right back. Their producer comes up with an idea for them to go out on dates, they’re both forced to go along with or lose their jobs.
The first few pages of this seemed liked it was going to be an entertaining read, unfortunately that didn’t last. The writing was uninspiring and so much of it was cliched. both leads seemed to have personality transplants from one page to the next. There were situations that happened where so much more could have been made of those but instead they were glossed over or not dealt with at all. This is not a book I could recommend. -
For some reason these short and uber sweet romances are cutting it for me. I had hit quite the reading slump after the reading Darfever #3 (I cannot recall its name for the life of me), but I've regained my reading mojo a bit.
Anyways, I liked this story more that Mistakenly Married. The plot is about a hate to love relationship between co-workers who are semi-famous, and it was definitely more plausible than its predecesor (or was it sequel?).
What I like the most about this story is that it doesn't leave you with a feeling of incompleteness. It's all wrapped up with a nice little bow, in an endearing way. So, if you're a fan of super CLEAN romances, with no OW/OM plot, then maybe this series is the perfect fit for you, since its a super fast read with a HEA. -

I have enjoyed reading this book series, but this one might possibly be my favorite. The characters are so well formed and have such chemistry- their dialogue alone had me laughing and swooning! It was a quality clean romance, with a happily ever after that left me so very satisfied!! -

This is my first read by Victorine Lieske (though I've been admiring her covers for a while), and it won't be my last!
What a fun fast paced story with heart! Great emotional development of the characters. The storyline was solid. The twists unexpected. I enjoyed every moment of reading as I watched Megan and Adam's story unfold.
It was clean, witty, and refreshing. I'll definitely be reading more by this author. -

I laughed n maybe teared up a little a one point. Loved the story! This is one worth rereading. I will be looking for more of her books in the future. -
This series is a hoot. The characters express genuine emotions to situations, and there were plenty of moments where I felt amusement, embarrassment, even anger along with one of the characters. I am one who does not take relationships or marriage lightly, but I couldn't help enjoying this story. The back stories behind both protagonists made it easy to see them "real", and their friendship made me smile.

This was a nice funny clean read, it started out hilarious I laughed myself silly. From there it just became a nice wonderful read. It was a read that can take you way from your troubles give you a smile to make your day better. It reminded me of the movie The Ugly Trust which I loved. The author did take it on a serious side which reminded me things are not always as they seem, sometimes you have to look deeper to find the truth. Sometimes you have to do things you don’t want to do or you don’t agree with to keep a job as in Adams case. I loved the fact the author gives us a humorous tale but does bring in the serious side, misunderstandings, need to learn to trust and gave us a wonderful love story.
Megan and Adam, co hosts a morning show their fighting has raised the ratings. Their boss takes it to a higher level and things get out of hand. Before you know it they are dating and set to get married. Both agree for their own reason which may or may not be a good reason. Megan finds out a few things and she is out for revenge which in return Adam makes his own plans. One thing leads to another and you have a very funny read. It isn’t all fun and games peoples feeling get hurt. Before it is all said and done they might lose it all….
I totally enjoyed this story, the author gives you a easy flow reads that keeps you turning the page. It is a read you will want to read at one setting and will not want to put it down. This is the first book I have read by this author, I do look forward to reading more from her. I recommend this outstanding read for anyone who just wants to have a laugh and not have to put too much attention it. This will definitely make your worse day better. -

While his insults and her quick rebuttals furthered the show's ratings, they certainly didn't give her warm & fuzzy feelings towards her coworker. So why is she so excited when the station sends them out on a date?
Adam hates having to needle his co-host, but his job is on the line. Since the producer realized that it was Megan's reactions that make the show so popular, Adam is forced to wear the persona of player, unable to show Megan how much he actually likes her. When Adam is forced to admit that the has deeper feelings for Megan, his life and heart are thrown into turmoil with live-streamed dates and even a Bachelorette-esque show.
Forced to pretend to be in love, can Megan and Adam actually discover their own hearts before it's too late?
I absolutely loved the book and did not want to put it down. Megan and Adam are thrown into a situation out of their control, and they find themselves in a position where they can only hold on and hope for a happy ending... But at times it almost seems like a train wreck. I loved both of these characters from the beginning and I love how the author splits the point of view between them so we're able to see the unfolding story through each character's eyes. The transitions are seamless and the plot is fast-paced and enjoyable.
If you enjoy romance, comedy, and impractical situations, you'll probably love this book too!

Reluctantly Married is a romantic comedy and is the second book in a four-book series.
Like book one (Accidently Married), Reluctantly Married is a cute, fun, easy read that had me laughing out loud on almost every page. I enjoyed both books so much that I just finished book 3 and have started book 4.
Once again, the story is quite simple and centers around Megan, and her TV show co-host, Adam. Megan and Adam spend most of their time on their morning show, goading and sniping at each other; much to the joy of their followers.
As their ratings climb, Leon, the show’s producer, gets the brilliant idea that they should start dating. Dates that will not only be filmed, but staged to maximize sniping opportunities. However, ….. you guessed it ….. they begin to have feelings for one another. Feelings, and ratings, that lead to an offer from a national broadcast network to do a nationwide dating show that will end with their wedding.
Reluctantly Married, like book one, is loaded with cute one-liners that will have you sliding off your chair laughing. So, read it lying on the beach, far from others, and definitely not in the doctor’s office or on a flight!
The story line is not as predictable as book one and is sure to hold your attention, and provide more twists, turns (and giggles) you’ll not see coming. It also has two more main characters you’ll love and can’t help rooting for and, an evil producer for you to boo and hiss at.
Another funny, enjoyable, quick read that will definitely keep you in a good mood. Highly recommended. -
Frustratingly Funny and Romantic!
I shared the heroine's frustration while reading this humorous romance. Megan is the co-host on a small town, morning talk show. The other host, wickedly handsome, Adam, has been encouraged by their boss, to taunt and bait Megan so she'll throw out one of her zippy zingers, much to the audience's delight. The boss, Leon, is all about the ratings, and the ratings have continued to grow since Megan joined the show. The sexual tension between the two hosts has their fans, especially the women, eager with anticipation as to what will happen next. Getting the idea to increase the tension, as well as the ratings, Leon decides to have the two date on camera. Adam plays up the sexy suitor role until Megan's not sure if he's really the jerk she thought he was, or how she really feels about him any more. Amidst her confused feelings, Leon receives an offer for the show to go on a national network, except this time, she and Adam are to be married at the end. It's all fake for the show but Megan's frustration has her tied up in knots. Adam seems so different than his on-screen persona and his kisses make her melt. She knows he's a really good actor but, just when shes's convinced herself that she can keep pretending that she doesn't really love him, he confesses his true feelings to her. Slap-stick funny and quirkily romantic, this one had me laughing one minute and sighing dreamily the next. -
OH MY Goodness this has to be one of the funniest romances I have read in a while yet at the same time I wanted to hit a couple people upside their heads as well.
Megan and Adam are co-anchors of a morning show on tv. Their boss decides to get ratings up he will have Adam start needling Megan and it works. He comes across as a male pig and she snips back at him and ratings start going up and Leon the station manger is happy as a bug in a rug...yes bed bug.
Then he brings on a relationship expert who says that Adam is secretly attracted to Megan. Megan and Adam go on a date and Leon posts online there is a second date right away and things start to get our of control here because Adam is told the expert is a fake. He wants Adam to continue date Megan then and Leon plans to humiliate Megan on the air by telling her it was all fake. Adam refuses to go along with the deal. He has no idea that Megan is in the hallway listening the whole time.
The book is what happens on their dates and all the way to the ALTER!
You know you really can't decide who your heart falls for and this is shown in this book. -
Megan and Adam work together on a morning show. They banter back & forth and then the producer decides it would be a good idea to set them up using a fake relationship doctor. Megan soon learns that it is a fake and that Adam also knows but she pretends to go along with it. Along the journey of dating, a reality dating show (similar to the Bachelorette), they actually do fall in love, but Megan doesn't believe that Adam is really in love with her. Megan tries to deny her feelings for Adam because she knows the whole thing is a scam. They end up getting married as part of the TV show contract and afterwards, in their honeymoon suite, Adam reveals that what he feels for Megan really is real. Megan turns him away, as she is unable to deal with her feelings. Once he's left, Megan realizes that she really does love Adam & wants to win him back. At their last contracted TV appearance, Megan tells the truth of the whole thing from start to finish and then confesses that she's actually in love with Adam. They end up staying married.
A wonderful light read. Very enjoyable. The worst part was the producer because he was a slimy worm sometimes.
