This board book makes a lot more sense than
    Little Dinos Don't Hit.

We all know biters (I am a biter! Always have been)
They're awful little things, with their chompers all up on your flesh.
Biting happens for lots of reasons - anger, frustration, and disappointment; teething; some kids just like the feel of flesh between their teeth (it is super satisfying); misdirected emotions (it's so cute, it must be bitten!); etc.

This handy-dandy book shows what items are not ok for biting (shoes, toys, mom) and what are (snacks)(yeah, that's it). It's up to you, the reader, to explore what other biting options may or may not exist and why it's ok/not ok to bite certain things but this story is a good springboard into that deep, intellectual discussion with your toothy 20-month-old.

The Little Dinos series is a huge hit with my preschool storytime. I get toddlers 1-3 years old and the older toddlers are often frustrated by the behavior of the younger toddlers.

The bold illustrations, brevity, and repetitive nature of this series captures the attention of the whole group, while the message is simple enough for even the young toddlers to understand.

I strongly recommend these books as both a fun read and a gentle way to teach young children appropriate social behavior!

NOT MOM - JUSY DON'T DO IT! Fun book!

A great book to teach some early basic reading. Beautiful and engaging illustrations that are very humorous. The sentence structure is short and easy to follow and read. This is part of the 'Little Dinos' collection, that teach positive behaviour, good manners and first words. The only disadvantage to this book is that I think it is an American collection, as it uses 'Mom' and the spellings differ such as 'behavior'. Overall, a great book to get started with.

A good one for the early years classroom, promoting positive choices.

I received a copy of this through NetGalley. I loved this book. From the lively, colorful, and often times funny pictures to the positive behavior reinforcement. Too many times, it's always don't do this and this and this, that its nice to have a book that says hey, you can do this and this and this. Kids will relate to the pictures and simple text as they know and we know kids who have bitten. It would be perfect for young children especially those who have a shown a pattern of biting, or to teach manners and good behavior. Perfect for a daycare, school, and in home use. It will also appeal to those who love dinosaurs.

Here is a cute and simple way to teach very small children what is acceptable to bite and what is not. "Don't bite your shoes! And Don't bite your mom! Bite a snack instead, Little Dino". The large and colorful pages will appeal to little ones while they are being taught a valuable lesson. Little Dinos is a wonderful new board book series teaching babies very important behavioral concepts. Other titles include, "Don't Push" and "Don't Hit".

I enjoyed this book those most because the central lesson was "Don't bite your mom." Being that I am a mom, I found this book to be the best book of the night.

The illustrations were awesome. The drawings coincided with the lesson and added humour to each page. Overall I hope to see more about Little Dino. Especially ones that tell the kiddies to be nice to their moms.

** thanks to NetGalley & the publishers for this copy!

Super cute book to teach little ones not to bite. I will definitely be referring this series of books to the mom's at my clinic to help with negative behaviors.

I had to buy this book and the rest of the series after reading this title. It’s a big board book on simple but important etiquette lessons.

  • Ali

Super cute little book with great primary color illustrations about good good behavior (i.e. not biting). The bit about not biting Mom was especially silly and fun.

  • Cheyenne

Lexi really loves this book. We read it to her a couple of weeks ago and we've been reading it pretty much every day since then. She has stopped biting, so it looks like it worked.

  • Rachel

I love Michael Dahl's preschool books and this one is on par with the rest of them.

    Funny and great!

A very cute book on teaching little ones not to bite. Emphasizes positive behavior and good manners. The wording is appropriately chosen.

This is a cute book that teaches kids not to bite. It’s a good lesson, but I feel like there could have been a little more meat to this story. The sentences were really short, and it just didn’t feel like there was enough description.

While this book teaches a great lesson, it just fell a little flat for us. It was over so soon, and I don’t think the message really sunk in for my 3-year old, fortunately, she doesn’t bite anyway.

Great, funny board book. I wish this was written for my kids, but my grandkids love it. It tells things not to bite (toys/furniture/shoes/your mom!) but you should eat a juicy apple, a crunchy carrot or a tasty cracker. It could be longer.

Other books in the series are don’t hit, don’t push, and don’t yell.

These Little Dinos series is a good initiative to teach kids some good manners & appropriate behavior at an early age. The language used in the books is also fine, not too loud nor too soft.

  • Bee & Roo

We renewed this book the maximum number of times—Bee loved it when she was 18 months old, and we were definitely in the “phase” of her life where we needed her to learn Little Dino’s lesson. Perhaps we need to try it again for Roo now!

Some things are okay to bite (like food), some things really are not (like other people or your toys and clothes). As with others in this series, this is in a very easy reader format and written from the point of view of little dinos in place of children.

  • Donna Mork

Good lesson on not biting people.
