I love this book! Its like having your very own pokedex for gens 1 through 6. I use this book almost every time I go pokemon hunting on pokemon go. It's great when catching a pokemon that you dont know. This book tells you all its evolutions and any information you need to know about it, including all its possible moves and the correct way to pronounce its name. This book is great for new and experienced trainers alike.

This book is great! Just got into pokemon properly since the 1st pokemon game. Got pokemon sun for my birthday, it doesnt show the newer pokemon as this book was around before the pokemon sun game but it tells me about the other pokemon I have come across throughout the game.
Fun to learn about the evolutions and variations and names!
Good for anyone starting the pokemon craze! -
I started reading this because so many people close to me love Pokemon. Yes, to the nerdy-ridiculous-I-know-more-than-seven-hundred-by-name-and-their-statistical-details-and-will-tell-you-precisely-why-this-Pokemon-is-the-best-in-battle-but-that-one-over-there-is-far-better-once-fully-evolved-but-out-of-fairy-Pokemon-only-then-again-it-really-depends-on-the-battle-circumstances-not-that-I-actually-show-off-about-all-this-but-I-have-been-playing-for-almost-two-decades point. I know at least four individuals close to me that fit this description. Not to put any of them in a box...
Anyways, it started as a mild interest in finding out what exactly drew these people I loved away from me into the recesses of their imaginations. Of course, I grew up with Pokemon, but only add much as I watched the show most afternoons. That was the extent of my exposure. I figured there were maybe fifty Pokemon. Right. As of 2013, it seems there are 720.
Anyhow, this Handbook is the best that I have found out there, as far as for an amateur beginner like me. Awesome full color pictures, full statistics, background on what region they hail from, pronunciation, height, weight, possible moves, evolution process. All in alphabetical order.
I guarantee you even the most seasoned trainers would love to have this on-hand for quick reference.
Awesome! -
This book is good if you like Pokémon. It's like a pokedex from the real Pokémon show it shows all there evelotions and there stats and what they can have when they evolve. I give this book a 5 star!. The book has all the Pokémon in name order and they show all the legendary Pokémon that you never knew about. This book is full of surprises. My favorite Pokémon in this book is Vaperion evolveation of Eevee

This is a great Pokédex for any type of fan, from the 90's to today. The pictures are bright and bold, the Pokémon Facts from the Pokédex are great, and move sets are listed.
While I am giving this five stars, there are two issues to address:
Do not buy this if you want a book in National Pokédex Order. This is in alphabetical order, beginning with Abomasnow and ending with Zygarde on page 432. A side note is that the Pokédex number is not listed by each Pokémon, and neither is its generation. The generation issue can be easily worked around if you know which generations came from which region as the regions are listed next to each Pokémon.
What I did was grab an alphabetical list of Pokémon and hand wrote each Pokédex number by each Pokémon. That approach takes time and effort for 720 Pokémon. Why not 721, as there are currently 721 (this review is pre-Sun and Moon)? That's the second issue
The newest Pokémon to be added to this book is 720, Hoopa (Confined and Unbound are both shown). Volcanion is 721 and is not in the book at all. This makes sense given the publish date and to me, it is just a minor set back.
This is a great resource to have in any Pokémon collection. I recommend it for adults and kids alike to enjoy the world of Pokémon, expand their knowledge, and have fun! -

i bought this book today. i had to. i'm a huge fan of pokemon.
pokemon, the game anyway, came out when i was a kid and i've loved it ever since. i had the old handbook of when there were only 151 pokemon. i seen this sitting in the store today for ten bucks and i couldn't say no.
i felt just like a kid again. these books helped me learn enough about pokemon that i didn't have to look up anything because i knew the different types, their strengths and weaknesses.
although i do think it's amazing, it would have been nice to know what levels the pokemon evolve at, it just tells you the mega evolution and if they don't evolve at all. it would also be nice if it told you the strengths and weaknesses, even though some of them are still easy enough to remember, i think it would give it the next little thing that it would need to be perfect.
so why five stars if those things are missing? simply because i still love it so much. -
This is an excellent book for any Pokemon fan. The book covers every Pokemon for Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and the Kalos regions as they are pictured in the Pokemon anime series. The book provides information about the Pokemon as well as detailed illustrations of each species for excellent drawing reference of just for an easy reference for identifying a Pokemon you may have forgotten.

A really good collection of Pokemon and easy to tell the evolutions and whatnot, but as far as learning where they are and how they evolve the book is lacking. Would recommend to someone who had never seen the guides for the games before.

Basically just a physical pokedex. It has lovely, vibrant artwork.
