This is one of my favourite go-to reference books.

I recommend reading this book BEFORE you shop for the tools you think you'll need for a beaded jewelry project. The descriptions of materials that go into an inspired work are informative. I wish I had this book when I was starting out as a jewelry maker. It would have saved me a LOT of money.

I've been making jewelry for 20+ years, and still consider myself a novice at the craft. Why? Because I'm always open to learning new techniques and improving my skills. For me work = play, and this is one book that always gives me fresh ideas for unique and fun projects.

While this book is primarily tailored to folks interested in working with beads, and the findings that will help any novice of the craft, I've used this as a reference for tools and techniques I can use in other jewelry making projects.

There are sections on "types of beads", "materials", "tools and information", "techniques"...and much more. It's invaluable in how it will familiarize you with a wide variety of the tools that are essential to beading.

Fully illustrated, it includes a number of projects to try your hand at. Each project lists materials, tools, techniques and step by step instructions.

A lot of what's in this book is stuff I've been working with for years, but it's one of the books that still gets pulled off my reference shelf frequently.

~Disclaimer: I received this book for free in a giveaway~

This is a fantastic reference book for someone who into beading. The layout of the book with spiral means the book can lay flat for easy reference while working on a project.

It has a wide array of project ideas. Including, some for the less skilled beader like myself.

Some of the beading projects are far more complicated than I could possible do at this time, but I suppose with practice I could work my way up to being able to complete them.

Not only that with full color pictures and description the book gives you a breakdown of the different sorts of supplies referenced in this book (beads, findings, threads and other tools).

Anyway, if you are looking for a hard copy to have around the home for quick reference this would be a great addition. Google works too, but I find having at least one great reference book about your hobbies is great to have around the house.
