This was a rather lukewarm listening experience, while there where parts of it that I liked but it wasn't as intense and emersive as the last one but I'll probably continue with the next one. Was a bit confused over the ending, wasn't quite sure what happened but hopefully it would be clear in the next oen

Normally if I truly do not like a book, I normally will only post a short review on Goodreads saying I just didn’t like it or it didn’t work for me. This time though, even days later when I think of this book I start cussing a blue streak and want to commit bodily harm on a fictional character so badly that I am questioning my sanity.

First let me say in real life I can be a major bitch, I know this. Sometimes it’s because of my mood or it’s because someone deserves my treatment of them. Here is the thing, I know when I am being an irrational bitch about things, and there is a line between being a bitch and being a BITCH. Sin is a BITCH. In the first part of this series her bitchy attitude didn’t bother me so much, but in this one for some reason she turned into a BITCH and I was so angry at her it ruined the book for me. Now though, she is this cocky I think I am a bad ass but in reality I look and sound stupid with 99% of the shit that comes out of my mouth BITCH. There is zero chance at her being redeemed in my eyes. Zero, ziltch, nada. Am I saying that Core is a saint by any means? Nope but at this rate I will love him till I die before even liking Sin.

Obviously by this review you can tell that my famous temper hasn’t lessened any with Twisted Lies 2 and I can say without regrets that I will not be reading the third part even if I was paid a million dollars.

    Nando's Spice Rating: Plain-ish

There was a lot of repetition throughout this series and I wasn't a fan.
I also felt like the romance was non-existent and that as a reader I didn't have anything to root for.
The pacing of this book was too rushed and it could've been a much more complex book but ultimately there was a lot of wasted potential here, I kept reading the series hoping it would get better.

The plot thickens in this installment! More questions than answers after reading this installment but still good a read. Not sure what's in store in book 3. However, I'm anxious to find out how Core will get his cake and eat it too!

Syn’s future and the future of her company in in McKay’s hands, but even so, she is not going to give up and do everything he tells her without question, she has too much character for that.
McKay continues to investigate the possible relationship between the future mayor and his mother’s murderer and Syn, an although he is discovering pieces of information, he still doesn’t manage to fit them completely.
Kyle, Syn’s high school ex-boyfriend, appears again in her life and although he is married he wants to sleep with her again, but she rejects him.
Although McKay finally recognizes the immense attraction he feels for Syn, he knows that his heart is not in the game, since it still belongs to Maya, the woman who lost so many years ago along with his unborn child.
Although these 2 haven’t fully explored what they feel, the little teasers they have had so far seem that when that happens the passion will go off the charts.
We will have to continue reading the rest of the books to see how the story continues.

“I want to strip you naked and lay you on my bed.” There was a pause before he said, “I want to tie your legs wide open, so I can see your glistening cunt.” His voice was low and rough when he growled, “I will work you with my tongue until you’re begging and screaming. Then I will kiss you.” He cradled the back of my head, easing my mouth to his. The kiss was slow, methodical, and scorching hot. He drew my bottom lip into his mouth, sucking softly, until my insides were quivering with need. He eased back, and his bright gray eyes searched my face. He gave me one last swipe of his tongue before he bit my lower lip and retreated. “Letting you taste yourself on my lips.”

“I see right through you, McKay, and I have no interest in being the fucktoy you’ll discard when you get bored.” He narrowed his eyes. “Maybe you see right through me because we have a lot in common.” He reached down, trailing a finger along my scar. “Like the fact that neither one of us gives a shit about attachments.” He leaned downward, kissing my scar. “Sounds like a match made in heaven,” he mumbled against my skin.

"Twisted Lies 2" picks up where "Twisted Lies" book one left off. So if you have not read book one, you'll need to do so before reading "Twisted Lies 2" Lets just get out of the way first, that this book does not complete the story. It does not end with a cliffhanger though, which I appreciate very much. The ending of this book gives the reader a clue of of what is to happen in the upcoming book. I did enjoy the first book but the second book leaves a bit to be desired. Nothing really was resolved in book two, it was more or less the following of the hero/heroine daily lives. However, I did come out with a better understanding of the characters and their pasts by the time I completed the book, more so than with book one. Overall, the story is full of mystery and suspense which I really enjoy. Core McKay is a sexy as hell alpha male that is hell bent of revenge. Sinthia Michaels starts off more as a pawn to Core but what Core does not expect is to have an undeniable attraction to Sin,which really complicates things. I personally love mafia/organized crime books, and in my opinion there aren't many GOOD books out there where the story and lifestyle of said criminal is accurate and I do have to say that Ms.Venez has made this story very believable and realistic. I find that I'm not rolling my eyes at certain things and details because for me a story, even though its fiction, needs to be first and foremost REALISTIC or I can't connect. I'm giving the book four stars for good character development, the fact that the story and relationship of the Hero/heroine isn't rushed, and the quality of the writing. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading book three.

First, let me say that I enjoyed this book as well and am looking forward to finding out more about Sin, her past, the connections that she is unaware of and of course Core and his not so shiny past.
We do learn more about Core in this one, so it was nice to "see" where he is coming from and get a glimpse of why he is the way that he is. Their chemistry is palpable and they haven't even had sex yet. It is so thick, you could cut it with a knife. I am going to harass Sedona to find out when the next one comes out because I am very anxious to see where this is going.

I did have an issue with this one in the beginning and maybe it's because I read them back to back. I felt that the information pertaining to the characters, such as physical description and whatnot was repeated. It felt a little redundant to me and took up more of the story when I just wanted to get to what was happening. Other than that, I love the characters, even the secondary ones.

    Battle For Dominance

Things between Core and Sin heat yp as they battle their attraction. Core has taken over every part of her business except the designing. Sin rails against his high handedness. At least her design collection is back on track after McKay lifts the ban he put on her contracts with the high end retailers. Core moves forward in his plans to take down his mother's killer, Bigsby Calhoune, while still looking for Sin's connection to the man. Sin has to deal with her sleazy ex-boyfriend and it seems he's not going away quietly. Core and Sin's lust for one another is reaching the tipping point.

I really enjoyed this second part of Twisted Lies, I was gripped from the very beginning and can't wait to get on to book 3 and find out what happens next.

This story reminds me of Cynthia Eden's Dark Obsession and Mine series and if your a fan of those then like me you are sure to enjoy this!!

    To many parts

This book is another part of a series that basically needed to just be one book. It's not good enough to be in parts. It's dragging you along aka boring.

  • Diana

Sin Michaels a fashion designer and Core McKay a ex bad boy gone legit.. thats the jiz of the books.

This is my second series for Sedona that I have read, and in Sedona Venez style she wrote 4 parts to the story, which I love.
But I wish that part 1-3 were longer (just a little longer than they were).

I really love this story and the plot to it. In general it was a nice light read with good heroine and sexy as fuck hero.
Sin is a strong woman and she has been through alot of tragedy and same with Core. Core meets Sin and wants to use her for his own gain, but the he starts to fall for her. Core starts his plot to uncover things and as he does he starts find out that there is tragedy that waits Sin. This is the story of how their worlds collide and how she handles it all including their love.

I will give it a 4.5 star for the first 3 books and I also did the Audiobook which was just pure perfection, Ava Lucas and Teddy Hamilton did a stellar job on the audio. (Love Ava and Teddy’s voice, sexy sexy sexy).

Anyhooo… the Smut was nicker melting for sure, so I’d say “ladies extras nickers out yeah”
I totally recommend this read for those who are into light plots and short but sweet story romance’s .

    Get’em out ladies, get’em out..

Twisted Lies 2 is book two in the series Boss of Dirty Secrets by author Sedona Venez. This one is dark and what I mean by that there’s so much manipulation going on in this book. Plus so many secrets- it’s like you learn a new secret each time you turn the page. And the chemistry between the two main characters, I don’t know if I want her to run away to save herself or if I want her down on her knees.
    Enjoy!!

So, this book pissed me off even more than the first one. Why, you might ask?
Because, seriously, the whole story/book does not need to be ripped apart into 3+ books, of barely 100 pages. Not to mention, that a whole chapter and a half was repetition from the first book, and as far as moving the story along goes, we didn't get far with this part. Waste of money, if you ask me.

I have the sneaky feeling that I and reading a full book in novella instalments. So Sin is still battling her lust, Kyle the douche from highschool is lurking and lusting. Who is the mysterious phone caller and when is Sin finally going to wake up

  • Sheila

I really love the … love/hate relationship these are showing. Oh there is definitely drama/chemistry there and I can’t wait to see if they finally hood up in part 3. Im kinda hoping Jade and Ram will hookup later on ….

  • Jamillah Smith

    Wow

Book 2 is better then book 1. So much is going on that keeps you wanting more. And the dirty sex talk love it. Really enjoying it so far.

  • Julie Jackson

Sin is spiraling in her business and Core is at the heart of it. He is infuriating. She can’t walk away. He won’t let her. This book is captivating from beginning to end.

  • Brittany

    3.5⭐️

Finally more about Core! That cliffhanger!
There are so many different things happening so I really don’t know where this is going especially after that last chapter.
Running to book 3 because their chemistry is really good so I need to get to the smut!

This is the second book in the Dirty Secrets series, and as the first one left us hanging in the lurch, so does this one. But the heat going on throughout the series is well worth the wait. Sedona Venez has created a series that you certainly don't want to miss. Full of action and violence, the steam brewing between Core and Sinthia is almost enough to sizzle the skin right off of the reader. The anticipation she has created will have you on the edge of your seat as we wait to see if these two will ever make it to bed together, let alone form some sort of relationship.
The entire book has so many unanswered questions that will hopefully be brought to light in the next episode. Who is and what is happening with Sinthia's stalker? What is the missing link with Bigsby and the ring? What is in the book Sin found in her father's trunk? And what is it with her second birth certificate? So many questions and part three on the way. Hopefully we get a few of them answered in the next episode.
This author has a wonderful gift. Her books will keep you on your toes, wondering where the story is headed. Her writing style is impeccable, giving us great plots that show are derived from a great imagination, and characters that only leave you wanting more. Well done and definitely can't wait for part 3.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Sinthia Michaels finds herself in between a rock and a hard place. She has worked so hard to get to were she is at and one mistake of not thoroughly reading the contact has costed her a lot. Now hot sexy Core McKay has a stake in most of her company and now he is calling the shots

I love Sinthia’s hard take no crap off of anyone attitude. She has had a hard life. A mother that does not love her and a dead father the only one that cared for her. She was mistreated by a boy she had a major crush on in high school and has let it affect her life when it comes to relationships.

Core is obsessed with Sinthia. He wants her and is determined to have her. He knows she wants him just as bad and when the time is right he will take her. How is this going to play out? Will Sinthia forgive Core if she discovers he is using her?

There is so much chemistry between Core and Sinthia. As their past unfolds you see they have a lot in common. You have to wonder if that is part of the magnet that is drawing them together. I am still wonder what is going to happen with Jaxon. Have we seen the last of him?

This is such an awesome series. I so can’t wait to read book 3.

This is one of those stories where it helps to read the first one. I was really impressed on how this story turned out, well not to shocked as I was the first story I was more looking forward to this one. Could have to deal with the author being wonderful and really making it show in her writing; which is great itself. The story is fast paced it was over before I really knew it started. I liked every minute I spent reading it, I was looking forward to the page turns more and more. The story seems like you don't need to read book 1 but I honestly think you do just to have a good feel for what your about to embark on. I'm blown away with the authors work, she really makes it hard not to be able to loss track of what your reading. It's a MUST READ story!!! I know I really want to read the next one I mean who wouldn't want to continue this journey? Not me I want want want to read more hell I need more!!!
