In book three of A Dia Mclearey Novel: Dia has faced a lot in her young life and the Fates don't seem to be done with her yet.
Along the way, Dia begins to come into more of her powers—some she can control while others play off her emotions. She learns a great lesson in what is expected of family, whether born into it or through blood bond, when Dia comes face to face with the darkest of Fae. However, though they are feared by most, Dia never received that particular memo.
In this part of Dianthe's journey, she discovers what loss really is and that there is more in Heaven and on Earth than even Shakespeare could have imagined.
As the Hunt rides for answers, Dia learns a great lesson—even immortals have to deal with Heartbreak and Loss…

I LOVE Dianthe
I am in love with this series... have been from the start and I am always so excited when another book comes out. There is only one thing that kept me from giving this five stars and that is the lack of explanation. We hear about Cernunnos' cycle but we don't know what it is. Sure, we know he's coming back but we don't know any details and Dianthe isn't even told that he'll return. Robin, Bronach, and the Sluagh king all make mention of it but nobody can tell her? I wish it was explained since it seems to play such a major role in this book but otherwise, I enjoyed this one just as much as the others and am looking forward to the next. -
This hasn’t been my favourite of the series so hence the rating I was hoping for a bit more action given Dia is under threat from an unknown source.
I understand she is grieving and that she doesn’t know how she is supposed cope especially under the circumstances. So this book was predominantly about Dia and becoming more aware of others, herself and coming together in a time of need; moving forward.
I will admit I skipped a few paragraphs here and there and given that this was probably the shortest book of the series it meant I finished the book very quickly. Annie really annoyed me this book round and we didn’t get to see Bro as much which is strange considering she is a BFF now, Dia doesn’t seem like she’s learning much in way of the Sluragh and what’s Brodie!!! I will keep my fingers crossed for another book because it’s not finished there are too many unanswered questions. -
Just FYI this is actually part two in Dianthe's Awakening now when you get the book from Amazon, so my review is the same as the one I posted on Awakening because the book I read encompasses both.
JB Miller did not disappoint in the 2nd book of Dia's story. I was pulled in from the first page. I experienced the full range of emotions while reading. Happiness, humor, sadness, despair, love...it's all their for the reader to experience. I love that Dia is ever changing and growing and can't wait to see what happens next! -
Great read!!
This book was well worth the wait. Love and loss and making her way through it. Amazing! This is a must read. If you haven’t read the first 4 you gotta add to your TBR list. -
I liked it, but I just wanted something more. I enjoyed the other 3 books better, I hope that there is more.

I don't feel like this book was all that necessary. It was more like a set of sex scenes (and not very interesting at that) with the occasional dialogue and no plot to speak of. I was bored out of my mind.
Still not sure what happened to Cernunnos, he kind of hinted on dying every now and then and then coming back. But if that's the case why wouldn't he tell Dia?
And I'd like there to be at leas some scenes with Kale and Daniel.
So yeah, it was a disappointment compared to the other books. -

4.5 stars...
I've read three books in this series and have loved them all. Ms Miller just hit spot on for me with her Dia McCleary series. They have it all detail, personality, magic, love, a bit of a mystery and saddness. I couldn't help but fall for the horned god, and Dia's personality is so endearing. A woman thats been through so much, and still has such a positive outlook on life and the people around her.
Fae magic dark and light, gods and kings. A fight to control, a great power. You just have to love fate and magic.
Dia isn't the only that will be learning things, but the ones around her will see life through the wonderous eyes of Dia the young innocent. Some yummy hot scenes, small bit of BDSM elements. A lot of passion.
I'm glad I had the chance to read this story, you can read it as a stand alone maybe. you'd miss out on some key points. so I'd start with the first book, it will be well worth you time. Enjoy -
Dianthe is kept with the hunt, and comes to love the hunt master, as well as becoming involved with another fae species. The truth about the false hunt is revealed and there is betrayal and tragedy.
I would have liked to see at least some of Dianthe's other mates, and I felt it a little strange that whilst in the human world, she didn't try to contact them. Fingers crossed that all is revealed in the next book, particularly why no one explains to Dianthe that death for a god isn't permanent.
