If You See a Cow Reviews
-
This is a combined review of both If You See a Cow and
If You See a Tiger.
These are both lift-the-flap books which focus on animal sounds. Both are pretty thin on plot, but they do have eye-catching illustrations, and Little Miss Muffet can easily enjoy them independently, making the animal sounds as indicated by each picture. Each book tries to have a little joke on its final page - the Tiger book suggests whispering when passing a sleeping tiger, and the Cow book wants us to say "How do you do?" rather than "Moo" to the farmer - but these punchlines don't seem that clever, and they kind of fall flat. While attractive to look at, these have not become favorite read-alouds in our house so far. -
Mommy didn’t like this book so much at first. But, Isla loves this simple book and the noises mommy makes when she reads it to her. She likes to pull the flaps. Simple but cute drawings.
