    Loving Colt was one of those light, contemporary romances that make you think of sunshines and rainbows.

    Here-- you follow the lives of Alexis “Alex”, her daughter Maddison “Maddi”, and of course, hunky cowboy Colt!!

    Alex knows the joys and woes of love. After all, it was through a heart-quenching teenage romance that led to the conception of daughter, Maddi. And through pain-staking tragedy that led to Alex’s first heartbreak and paved the way to the arms of an abusive ex that refuses to let Alex and Maddy go.

    Now on the run with nothing but the clothes on their backs, a rundown car, and barely any money to spare—Alex pulls into a restaurant in Brooklet, Georgia and from here our story takes flight!--In the shape of a handsome, Southern gentleman that is, with a dimpled grin who will make you ladies swoon and tingling in your panties!!

    Bring on Colt, baby!!

    So, my thoughts:

    As my first C.A. Harms book EVER, I genuinely liked this story. It’s one of those easy-squeezy reads where those who find themselves sh*% out of luck can find some renewed hope by the kindness and generosity of strangers.

    While I do feel that a lot of what happened throughout the plot was a bit cheesy, fast-paced and solved, as well as fairy tale like--- I also couldn’t help but envy the camaraderie of Colt and Alex’s families and their bountiful unconditional love and loyalty for one another.

    They are so caring, protective, and willing to give any one in need the shirts off their back that I couldn’t help but fall in love with every single one of these characters. So chivalrous and considerate!!

    Now I need to backtrack and pick up bks 1 & 2 so I’m dying to know what happened in ReedXKori as well as GavinXMaria’s books!! They’re such awesome individuals from what I’ve observed in LC!! Definitely the kind of people you want on your side!!

    I’m now kind of hoping that Alex’s brother and sister, Jett and Harper, will somehow have their own books in the series, but I’m pretty sure if that were to happen then Jett’s would be a side plot within Harper’s because he is not a Country Boy. *Shucks!*

    All in all though, a great, heartwarming series!! Can't wait to see what's in store for the 'Southern Boys' and their gals next!

    Okay…I need to get something off my chest. *pop knuckles*

    I ADORE THIS SERIES!!!!!! It is hands-down, one of my TOP faves and nothing will ever change that!!!! COLT IS SOO YUMMMMYYYY and had me swooning like an imbecile! I had the biggest grin while reading because he is just so darn amazing!! *Sigh*

    Whew! Okay, I feel much better now. =)

    CA Harms has always managed to make me fall in love not only with her stories, but her characters as well. I haven’t come across a book by her that has let me down in the slightest way. Nope. And I probably never will.

    Loving Colt, the third installment in the Southern Boys series, was a truly enjoyable, light read! Wonderful. Fantastic. From that very first sentence – that PROLOGUE – oh my! I was a goner! I wanted nothing more than to read all day…ignore work and any and all of my other responsibilities!

    “I love you so much. I wasn’t looking to fall in love, but with you and Maddison it was inevitable. There was no hope for me, not with the two of you. You both grabbed a hold of me, and I never want either of you to let me go.”

    When I first met Colt in Finding Gavin (Colt is Maria’s brother), I wanted more. I wanted to get to know him, so to say I was beyond ready for his book would be quite the understatement. And boy, was it worth the wait!! Harms did a marvelous job writing his and Alexis’ story! I’m a sucker for a sweet romance, so yeah…happy reader here.

    Alexis was a single mom to one of the most adorable little girls ever, Maddison. They were running from someone in Alexis’ past and were in search of a fresh start. A new life. Little did Alexis know, one chance encounter would change her and Maddison’s life forever.

    Colt wasn’t looking for love. Deep down, he wanted it – craved it – especially after seeing his sister live it, but he wasn’t set out for it. He had his work, his friends, and his family. He was okay. Until Alexis.

    Alexis wasn’t ready to start a relationship right off the bat because of what she’d been through. So, despite them having feeling for each other, Colt and her decided to start out as friends. Easier said than done, that’s for sure. When you connect with someone on a much deeper level, it’s simply impossible to deny your feelings. Trust me, I know. I’ve lived it.

    That said, after a bit of ups and downs, Colt and Alexis decided to really give it a go. To leave the past in the past, put injured egos aside, and really give it a go. At this point, I started squealing!! I was elated for them. Their relationship was passionate, yet sweet, making this a light romance with little angst – and I enjoyed that. It felt like a breath of fresh air to be able to just sit back and enjoy the book without worrying if they were going to break up every two minutes like in most books. So YAY CA Harms!! Thank you! =)

    All in all this was yet another fabulous addition to the Southern Boys series! LOVED seeing all the characters and how far they’ve all come. This is one group of characters that I truly cherish and carry very close to my heart. Like I said, this is one of my top favorite series! If you’re a fan of light, sweet romances with some steamy scenes, then Loving Colt is perfect for you! FIVE STARS!

    **JOSIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW**

    Gosh I have read most of C.A. Harms books, but the Southern Boys Series is by far my favorite. I find myself connecting with the characters and storylines in her novels. We were introduced to Colt in the 2nd book in this series, Finding Gavin. His character called to me and I was anxiously waiting for his story. Loving Colt is told in alternating POV’s and is a powerful story about healing, trusting, loving and letting your guard down. The Southern boys in this series do not mess around. When they fall for a woman they fall hard. They make some mistakes along the way but believe me, you will fall for them too. I have said this before, I really love Colt and Gavin, but my favorite Southern boy is Reed. Loving Colt is a quick read but the author does such an amazing job with the character development and plot that I was so engrossed and invested with their story that I could not put the book down.

    Alexis is a character that has and is going through hard times. She is a single mother of a daughter Maddi. Maddi was conceived while she was with her first love who died while serving in the Marines. After 4 years of being a long she starts a relationship with her best friend Seth. He is someone she trusts at first but he ends up changing into a man that turns out to be her worst nightmare. Alexis is smart enough to know that she must leave Seth behind, so she decides to head back to her family in Florida. Along the way she finds herself in Brooklet, Georgia. With not much in her pocket, a hungry 4 year old and an abusive ex-boyfriend, she catches the eye of Colt and his family and friends.

    Colt (SWOON) focused on his business and being there for his family and friends, but something about Alexis and her daughter gets to him. Colt is taken with Alexis right away. He wants to protect her and her daughter, keep them safe and provide for them. When he is present for one of her ex-boyfriend’s threatening phone calls, he vows to not let any harm come to either one of them. Colt convinces Alexis to stay in Georgia at his mother house, so Seth can’t get to her. The time he spends getting to know Alexis and Maddi makes him want more with the two new girls in his life.

    “I understand your hesitation, completely. I’m a patient man, Alex. I’ll wait it out, but I can’t stay away. I want to spend time with both of you.”

    “I have to protect myself and Maddi. Falling for you wouldn’t be the smart thing to do right now. I have messed things up since Troy died. Can we just focus on being friends? Right now I could use a good friend?”

    The author does a wonderful job in expressing and showing the feelings Colt and Alexis have for one another, along with the conflict. Things for Alexis are not easy. She trusted a man before and that back fired. She is not sure she can survive again. Colt is just like any Southern Boy. He doesn’t understand Alexis’ feelings and distances himself from her, which causes more of a divide. When Colt and Alexis are open and admit their true feelings for one another, accepting and dealing with insecurities and trust is the least of their problems. Seth is determined to take Alexis and Maddi back to California, but Colt is not giving his girls up.

    “I want you and Maddison not just today, not just tomorrow, but forever. I’m ready to show you girls what love feels like. I have so much inside of me, and I’m ready to shower you both with it.”

    We get to see some of the characters from the first two books; Maria and Gavin and Reed and Kori and of course their children. It was wonderful seeing how all the characters come together and become part of each other lives. I think that is something that I love about this series and this author. She makes you connect with all these characters and it doesn’t just end when their books end. We get glimpses of their lives through other books. We get to see Alexis’ character grow stronger as the story progresses and see her learn to trust and believe in Colt’s love. We get to watch her accept all that comes with Colt, including his family and friends. The same can be said with Colt, we see that instead of being focused on his business he finds that he wants to focus on putting a lot more time and effort into becoming a family with Alexis and Maddi. I didn’t see a sneak peek into Book 4 in this series, but we did get small POV’s from all the characters from the first two books, which I loved. I hate to think that this series is over but I am sure that the author has something good in the works and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

    4 Stars!

    I have been so honored to receive ARCs for the Southern Boy Series since Book 1, Forgiving Reed, which is when I fell in love with C.A. Harms' writing. I am really enjoying reading these books and loving each individual story. I was looking forward to reading Colt and Alex's journey after I got a glimpse of the first chapter at the end of Finding Gavin. I knew just by reading that little teaser that this story was going to have some suspense to it in addition to falling in love with a cowboy! Once again, C.A Harms did not disappoint.

    We got to meet Colt in Book 2, as Maria's brother. Colt comes back into Maria's life after the loss of their dad. Colt has not been around for awhile so he decided to stay closer to Maria and his mom instead of moving back to where he was living. It was hard not to fall in love with Colt. Everything he did in this story was out of pure love. I have to say that Alex was one lucky girl when she came across Colt.

    Alex is a single mom who thought she was going to have her happily ever after. Only that happily ever after turned into a nightmare that she didn't see coming. Alex took her daughter, Maddison, and left the abusive relationship she was in, hoping that she could protect them both. It just so happens, that Alex some how keeps running into Colt; starting with one night at the diner when he buys her dinner without her knowledge. Alex soon finds herself in yet another situation and realizes that the nice family that is helping her out...is Colt's family.

    Colt and Alex's relationship starts out as friends. Colt wants more, but knows that Alex has been through so much lately and doesn't want to push her too soon. As time goes on, Alex's guard comes down and she lets Colt in. The moment that Colt met Maddison they instantly had a connection. As Colt and Alex's relationship grew stronger, the relationship between Colt and Maddison did too. Although, I think it may have been possible that Maddison fell in love with Colt before Alex did! Their relationship was so cute. I loved Maddison. She was the sweetest little girl! I think I have said it before, but I will say it again...I don't know what it is about men and kids (that are not theirs) that make me fall in love with their character even more!

    I really enjoyed this story. It not only was a love story but it was also suspenseful when it came to Alex's past. The title of this book is Loving Colt; I believe that is the best title to describe Colt. He loves with all he has. He did anything and everything for Alex and Maddison with no hesitation from the moment he met them. Another thing that I've enjoyed about this series is that at the end of the each story, it goes back to the P.O.V's of the characters from the previous books. It shows their thoughts of where their at and what their thinking at that moment. I love knowing that all the characters are still madly in love with each other! It also lets us as a reader reconnect with the characters that we have already fallen in love with. I will continue to recommend not just this book, but the entire series to anyone that loves cowboys with a heart of gold!

    The story of Colt (Colton) and Alexis (Alex, Al).
    This book is written in the first person perspective of both the main characters, and later a few secondary characters (I am guessing they were in previous books of this series). Speaking of this being book 3, I want to also mention it is just fine as a standalone. The only question I had was as to how Kori, and Ben, and a few others fit in, but later they were explained.
    I think the book started off with a great premise. Alexis had run off in the middle of the night from an abusive boyfriend, along with her 4 year old daughter Maddison (Maddi). Maddi is starving, they've been on the road for a long time, and Alexis finds a small town diner to feed her daughter. The daughter asks why her mommy doesn't plan to eat, since she hasn't ate since breakfast, but she has barely any money. Anyway, enter Colt, who-on the sly-pays for a meal for mommy and daughter.
    When the car breaks down later, Colt's sister Maria convinces Alexis to take Maddi to stay a night with her mother. And wouldn't you know it, Colt shows up.
    The romance of the story begins there.
    I had a hard time deciding what I really thought about this book. While it is sweet, it is almost on the gaggy side of sweet. Their first 'couple fight' is no more than an annoyance. The action (really just one scene) is predictable.
    The "Love" that blooms seems record-breaking fast, at a week or two, with no kisses and barely much of any hand-holding. I have not been in an abusive relationship, but I can't imagine that you'd immediately feel safe with a new man in that short of a time, especially with a small daughter to look out for. I am not saying Colt wasn't a good man, but…
    There are a few love scenes, very much skimmed over without much detail. This is another place that confused me with Alexis' actions. And I REALLY did not enjoy their 'first time' together - odd place given all the circumstances.
    Anyway, all of those things lead me to a 3.5 Star rating. I did enjoy several spots, but found myself shaking my head quite often.
    I would recommend this one to people that don't want detailed sex scenes, and just a nice sweet read.

    ☆☆ ARC PROVIDED BY C.A. Harms FOR MY HONEST REVIEW ☆☆

    Alexis and her daughter, Maddison left in the middle of the night to escape the abusive relationship of one Seth Trowbridge. Traveling from California to her family home in Palm Springs, Florida, Alexis stops in a small town of Brooklet, Georgia where she is introduced to southern hospitality in a small cafe by way of Colton.

    Alexis is afraid to open up and trust her new friends in Brooklet. Alexis had Maddison young. She fell in love with Troy Walters, a Marine from california vacationing in Florida. Troy never knew Alexis was pregnant before he was killed in active duty. Alexis was depressed until her junior year in college where she met Seth. Seth started sweet then turned abusive when he drank.

    Alexis had a hart time trusting Colt for the fear history would repeat itself. Colt proved himself over and over again.

    At first, Colt agreed not to push Alexis beyond what she could handle. Colton could not handle the "friends" status. Wanting more, Colton avoided Alexis. Alexis regretted her decision about Colton after her brother, Jett, sent airline tickets to get her and Maddi. Alexis wrote a letter to Colton about her regrets and that she had feeling for him. Colton got on a plane after his mother, Ann, gave him "a talking to."

    Colton blended well with her parents and siblings, Harper and Jett. Colton saved Alexis from Seth after arriving at her parents' house for a date. After all this, Colton brought Alexis and Maddison back to Brooklet where they started a loving relationship. Alexis' main goal fulfilled, a loving family environment for her daughter, Maddison.

    Amazing CA Harms!! Absolutely amazing!! I've said it before but I love CA Harms!! If she wrote it, I want to read it. I love this whole series and the characters so when I knew Colt was getting his book I couldn't wait!! That little snippet at the end of Finding Gavin had me ready to devour Colt that very moment. I wanted to know Alexis and Maddison's story. My heart absolutely broke for her. Colt was amazing!! Every lady deserves a man like Colt. He would do anything and everything to give her what she wants and deserves. Can Colt prove to Alexis he is not like her ex? Will she open up her heart once again to love and allow Colt in or will her insecurities push him away?

    This was a quick fast read for me but I loved every second of it. I laughed, I cried and I felt what the characters felt. I loved getting more on the whole gang and all the kiddos. Maddi was the sweetest little girl and her connection with Colt was so heartfelt and wonderful. That ending was absolutely perfect!! I loved getting a little snippet on each of the characters in this series but I hope its not over!!! I love Jett and Harper. I hope they both get a story of their own. Harper is such a spitfire, I loved her!!

    If you have not one clicked this series yet, you are truly missing out. Trust me, you will love the hunky guys in the Southern Boys series just as much as I do. I can't wait to see what CA has in store for us next!!!

    This is book three in the series. It's a brilliant series. I recommend you read the other books in the series as you don't wanna miss out on these wonderful characters.

    This is the story of the sexy cowboy Colt, Alexis and her daughter Maddison. Alexis hasn't had it easy. She's running from her abusive ex when she meets Colt. Starting off as friends this turns into so much more with some fab steamy scenes.

    Since meeting Colt in a previous book I've been looking forward to reading his story and I certainly wasn't disappointed. I loved reading more about the other characters that we read and loved in previous books. This is one of them stories that make you all warm and fuzzy instead. I cannot recommend this series highly enough. Loved it.

    If there was ever a cowboy that would make you swoon then Colt would be that man. A man who had avoided relationships because the one that was supposed to be it for him had just walked away. When a woman on the run with her 3 year old daughter crosses his path, his thoughts on a future might just have to be reconsidered. Alexis is running from her abusive ex and her judgement of men is now something she is not sure if she can trust, that is until she meets Colt and knows with just one look of how he treats his Mum that he is definitely nothing short of a good man. As Alexis and her little girl Maddison get further under Colt's skin and embed themselves in his heart it will take all the fight he has to make Alex realize they are meant to be. Their story is emotional, romantic, hot and steamy, full of angst and drama and will leave you feeling totally complete. A great book to round this series up with a fantastic ending that will have you falling in love with each and every one of the couples again.

  • Emily

    Alexis is running from her ex with her three year old daughter in tow. Alexis thought she knew the man she called her close friend but she saw a side to him she knew she never wanted to witness again. Alexis finds herself in the small town of Brooklet for the night, but when her car has problems the next day she finds herself accepting the hospitality of others and one in particular Colt. The chemistry is building between Alexis and Colt but Alexis doesn't feel she can take a chance even though Colt has made it more than clear she is safe with him. Can Alexis trust in Colt and take a chance?

    This was intriguing but I found that Alexis was a bit wishy washy. I felt for Colt, he bides his time with Alexis and her daughter but Alexis sends mixed messages. I liked the overall idea for this one but wished Alexis was a bit more confident in her decisions.

  • Natalie Alder

    A gentle and sweet love for a deserving woman and child who should never have had to suffer.

    Loved it. Love the whole series.

    I loved seeing how strong Alexis was. She overcame her fears and made a life for herself and her daughter, having Colt there was a added sexy bonus!

    Ramblings From This Chick

    Loving Colt is the third book in the Southern Boys series by C.A. Harms. I have loved this series since I read the first book, and this book was no exception. Though this book can be read as a standalone, I think that readers will get the best enjoyment from this series by reading them in order. The characters are interconnected, so there will be some things spoiled if you don't start at the beginning. I don't know how C.A. Harms does it, but each book in this book is as good if not better than the last. I cannot recommend this series enough if you are looking for good contemporary romance stories filled with love and hope, and good southern boys that know how to love their women right.

    On the run from her abusive ex, Alexis wants nothing more than to keep her daughter safe and happy. When she stops in a small town in Georgia on the way to her family in Florida, she never expected to meet a man that would so completely change her life. Alexis quickly bonds with not only Colt, but also his family. When Colt finds out about Alex's past, he knows that he needs to take things slow with her. But the more that he spends time with her and her daughter, the harder he falls for them. But with Alex's ex still out there, will they ever be safe?

    I loved Colt! He was such an amazing guy. Strong and sexy, yet so sweet and gentle with Alex and Maddison. He was protective and caring, and had such an instant connection with both of them. I loved how he was with Alexis, but he really won me over with how quickly he took to Maddison. He loved her just as much as Alexis, and they were so adorable together. He was such a great dad to her. Colt had so much love to give, and it was really great to see him find his perfect match. Alexis was strong and such a great mom. She had been through so much pain at a relatively young age, and yet she had such a great head on her shoulders. Her number one priority was her daughter, and I really admired that about her. She always put her little girl first, and she knew that whatever she did with her life would affect Maddison. She had grown to have trust issues with men after all that she had been through, but I liked that she knew Colt was different. She was still wary of him in the beginning, but you could tell that she also felt such a strong connection to him and that he was someone that she could count on. Colt and Alexis were great together and I loved the chemistry between them. But they also were so connected to Maddison that it just felt like everything that had happened to them all had led up to them becoming a family.

    Overall, I absolutely love this series and everything I have read from C.A. Harms. She always delivers such heartfelt and emotional stories that feel real and believable. The characters are always deep, and I am instantly invested in their stories. It was great to see familiar faces in this book, but I really liked getting to meet some new ones as well. After reading Loving Colt, I really hope that C.A. Harms will write books for Alexis's brother Jett and her sister Harper. They were great, and I just know that they each have a lot more to them than we know yet. I especially liked Jett and I think he deserves his own HEA. If you haven't read anything by C.A. Harms yet, I think that this series is a great place to start. I have loved every single book in the series, and these characters are some of my all time favorites! I know that I will read more from C.A. Harms in the future, and I honestly cannot wait to see what she writes next!

    This is my favorite of the three Southern Boys books! I loved Colt and Alexis.

    All Colton knew, when he saw Alexis and her young daughter for the first time, was that he felt the need to protect them. Not realizing that Alex was on the run from a heart-breaking past, Colt was drawn to the woman in a way he never expected.

    They weren't supposed to meet, but when fate intervened and brought Alexis to Brooklet, and into Colt's family, they found a chance to find peace and a future...as long as they can survive Alex's painful past.

    Yup, Colt is officially my favorite Brooklet boy. He was strong and sweet, kind and caring, and well equipped with those "thrusting thighs" the girls of this series (and this reviewer) were so obsessed with. I liked this story. It was well-rounded and well-paced, and despite the somewhat whirlwind nature of Colt and Alex's relationship, if you really take the time to think over the timeline, it never felt forced, unbelievable or *gasp* insta-lovey.

    I find the writing in this series to be a touch feminine and (for lack of a better word, please forgive me) flowery at times, particularly with the male POV, but it doesn’t truly detract from my enjoyment of these books -- particularly not this one. Colt and Alex were likable and the kinds of characters you hope will get a HEA without too much hassle. Yes, they had their moments and battles, and although there were some oh-my-gosh, no! moments, I never truly had to worry over it. Because CA Harms has proved, over the course of this series, reliable when it comes to smile-worthy endings.

    And this ending was the best one of all. It was a great round-out to the Southern Boys books, particularly rewarding for those that have also read the first two books, Forgiving Reed and Finding Gavin. While I still feel there are stories to be told here, with a couple of new secondary characters introduced in Loving Colt, if this is the end of the series, it's most definitely ending on a good note.

    Loving Colt is the third book in the Southern Boys series and can be read standalone. No cliffhanger. ~ Beth, 4 stars

    ~~~
    Looking for a sexy Southern charmer to fall in love with? Look no further than Loving Colt. A sweet good ol' country boy. Well, not boy, he's definitely all man and a helluva man at that.
    Alex is on the run from an abusive relationship with her young daughter in tow. A quick pit stop in the town of Brooklet brings her into the life of Colt Thompson. Colt is a do-gooder, along with his family. There's sparks and feelings and chemistry between him and Alex but she's not planning on sticking around or giving her heart to the wrong man again.
    I like this series, I liked this book, but I just doesn't give me the wow factor I look for when I want a romance. It's very sugary sweet, a tad insta-lovey and kinda predictable. If those things work for you then you're going to love this book. This is definitely a book series for readers who want a sweet, swoony romance that’s light on angst and drama. What I really enjoyed is reading about the characters that have been in previous books and catching up on their lives.
    Loving Colt is book three in the Southern Boys series and could be read as a standalone. Dual POVs. And yes, although the story didn't quite work for me, I'll admit, Colt is the best hero in the series yet. ~ Erin, 3.5 stars
    I have been so honored to receive ARCs for the Southern Boy Series since Book 1, Forgiving Reed, which is when I fell in love with C.A. Harms' writing. I am really enjoying reading these books and loving each individual story. I was looking forward to reading Colt and Alex's journey after I got a glimpse of the first chapter at the end of Finding Gavin. I knew just by reading that little teaser that this story was going to have some suspense to it in addition to falling in love with a cowboy! Once again, C.A Harms did not disappoint.
    We got to meet Colt in Book 2, as Maria's brother. Colt comes back into Maria's life after the loss of their dad. Colt has not been around for awhile so he decided to stay closer to Maria and his mom instead of moving back to where he was living. It was hard not to fall in love with Colt. Everything he did in this story was out of pure love. I have to say that Alex was one lucky girl when she came across Colt.
    Alex is a single mom who thought she was going to have her happily ever after. Only that happily ever after turned into a nightmare that she didn't see coming. Alex took her daughter, Maddison, and left the abusive relationship she was in, hoping that she could protect them both. It just so happens, that Alex some how keeps running into Colt; starting with one night at the diner when he buys her dinner without her knowledge. Alex soon finds herself in yet another situation and realizes that the nice family that is helping her out...is Colt's family.
    Colt and Alex's relationship starts out as friends. Colt wants more, but knows that Alex has been through so much lately and doesn't want to push her too soon. As time goes on, Alex's guard comes down and she lets Colt in. The moment that Colt met Maddison they instantly had a connection. As Colt and Alex's relationship grew stronger, the relationship between Colt and Maddison did too. Although, I think it may have been possible that Maddison fell in love with Colt before Alex did! Their relationship was so cute. I loved Maddison. She was the sweetest little girl! I think I have said it before, but I will say it again...I don't know what it is about men and kids (that are not theirs) that make me fall in love with their character even more!
    I really enjoyed this story. It not only was a love story but it was also suspenseful when it came to Alex's past. The title of this book is Loving Colt; I believe that is the best title to describe Colt. He loves with all he has. He did anything and everything for Alex and Maddison with no hesitation from the moment he met them. Another thing that I've enjoyed about this series is that at the end of the each story, it goes back to the P.O.V's of the characters from the previous books. It shows their thoughts of where their at and what their thinking at that moment. I love knowing that all the characters are still madly in love with each other! It also lets us as a reader reconnect with the characters that we have already fallen in love with. I will continue to recommend not just this book, but the entire series to anyone that loves cowboys with a heart of gold!
    description
    Loving Colt is a heartwarming romance of a man that has given up on love and a mother running to protect her daughter. As with the last two books I fell in love with the southern boys again. As always Ms. Harms delivers a story of love and romance that will tug at your heart and have you finding the tissues. It took me all of two hours to finish this book that just held my attention and did not let go.
    There was not a part of Alexis and Colt story that I did not love or that did not touch me. 25% into the story of Colt and Alexis and I knew that this book was going to top the others. Alexis is running from a man she thought loved her but only wanted to abuse her. So with her small daughter she stops in a small time not knowing that even though she wasn’t looking love has a way of finding her and her daughter.
    Colt wasn’t looking for love or even thought he was interested in finding something permanent but seeing the beautiful woman and her small daughter in need he can’t help but reach out because sometimes people have a way of affecting us more than others and he can’t help but fall for the beautiful Alexis and her daughter Maddison.
    Colt and Alexis go through some rough patches due to misunderstanding and a crazy ex but throughout the story they manage to capture your attention and heart all keeping you emotionally invested in the story. I will always recommend the Southern boys series because not only will you fall in love with the characters all over again but if you love a great love story that will make you believe that sometimes love really does happen at first sight then this is the story for you. This is a HEA that can be read alone but I would say read the first two books to meet the characters that play a part in this one.
    This was my first book in the Southern Boys series and reading C.A Harms work but i must say i am in love.
    This story is amazing.
    Alexis is broken. To me her life seemed like one big disappointed or tragic event. Nothing goes right for her. She goes for one seemingly happy moment to having things turn to shit the next.
    Traveling home for a new start with her daughter in two she stops in Brooklet, Georgia where she stops in a cafe and gets her first introduction is Southern hospitality by Colton.
    Alexis having serious trust issues does not welcome anyone into her life with open arms. Her need to protect her daughter is a big reason for that. But Colton would just work harder to show her that he could be trusted.
    Loving Alexis isn't always easy for Colt because he knows ALexis has many insecurities. With the past that she has it easy to understand that. Colton in the end has to fight for what he loves and thats Alexis.
    i liked this book because the characters seemed so real. i could feel Alexis pain and I felt bad for Colton. Both of these two deserve someone that would love them wholly and in the end they found that in each other.
    This book has opened my eyes to the Southern Gentleman and i will definitely be going back and reading the books i missed and i will definitely be continuing this series.
    Review by Lisa Kane
    4 Star Review by Lisa Kane
    Colt is Maria's brother, first introduced to us in Finding Gavin. He's had a difficult life, having an alcoholic for a father. But since his father's death, he moved his wood working business to Brooklet, Georgia. Word of mouth spread thanks to Reed and Gavin and he is making a nice living for himself.
    Alexis is a single mom to her little girl Maddison. Her daughter's father, Troy died in the service before he ever found out he was going to be a dad. Her family lives out of state in Palm Beach, Florida, far away from San Diego where she resides. In her loneliness she turned to Seth, a good friend. In the beginning he was a great guy for her and her daughter, but as time went on, the more he drank the more violent he became. She was alienated from her friends and had few options. She ended up packing up her belongings and landed in Brooklet at a diner for a bite to eat on her way driving to Florida to surprise her family. It was obvious to the waitress that Alexis didn't have a lot of money and she only ordered something for her daughter to eat. But Colt happened to be there at the time, took in the scene and bought her dinner.
    This won't be their only run in. After spending the night in a hotel, she wakes to find her tire is flat. Maria is a witness to all of this and calls Gavin to come help. Due to the generosity of her new friends, she ends up staying at Maria and Colt's mom's house for a few days. They all go out of their way to make her feel welcome. Although there is definitely an attraction between Alexis and Colt, she guards her heart well. She hasn't been the best judge of men in the past and she needs to get her life back on track. Seth calls her and threatens her, asking if she is at her family's home. Now she isn't sure if she should go there or not. Colt is there for that call, grabs the phone and gives him hell. His need to protect Olivia and Maddison is on overdrive.
    Thinking he is moving too fast for Olivia, Colt backs off a bit. (I have to agree-this insta love is too much, too fast). But in the meantime, she talks to her family and her brother Jett and her sister Harper arrange a flight to their home in Florida. She writes a note for Colt and leaves. Colt has been avoiding her calls and sticking to his plan to stay away from her for a while. But when he finds out she left, he realizes what an idiot he was. Maria has some drama with her pregnancy but once that is resolved, Colt finally comes to his senses and goes to see Olivia in Florida.
    Where would these two live if they were to try to make things work? Has Alexis seen the last of Seth?
    This series continues to entertain as it adds more characters to its canvas. But the real beauty of it is the continual stories about the couples we have come to love-Kori and Reed, Maria and Gavin and now we can add Olivia and Colt to that group. I'm thinking Olivia's brother Jett and her sister Harper really deserve their HEA??
    This is book 3 in the Southern Boys Series
    This book can be read as a standalone, but other characters from the first two books are in it . .
    I gave this book 5 stars.
    This Alexis and Colt's book.
    CA Harms has done it again! This series just gets better and better. I look forward to reading anything I can get my hands on from this author, and this book was no disappointment.
    Colt has been through so much in his life and he doesn't want to go through it all again, he trusted a woman once and look where that got him. He has walls up and they are high, but the sweet and mouthy Alexis warms him up and makes him want to be something he doesn't think he can be. Alexis as well has been through a lot and has up just as many walls and she likes the relationship with Colt just the way it is. FUN and no strings attached, that is until she starts to fall head over heels for this delicious man. Can they get over what life has given them and start all over and make a life? A life that they both have dreamed of living all along?
    Colt is such a beautiful soul and he has up so many walls that not many see what he can offer. He has been damaged and feels like he is not reparable. Alexis to me was just what he needed. She saw the man that he tried to hide way deep down inside. They come together in such a beautiful way. Not just showing that love can happen between two people when you let it, but that love can happen in different ways if you will just let it. Family, love, second chances, and forgiveness are just a few things that you will find in this book.. DON'T miss this series, but definitely DON't miss this book!!! Thank you CA for another wonderful amazing book!!! I will be a reader for life!!! <3
  • Romance
    I can't lie, Colt is my favorite of the series. This man is just PERFECT!!!
    Colton sees Alex and Maddi for the first time at the diner where they stopped for a meal. They were passing by on their way to Florida. Alex was struggling and ordered food for her daughter but the waitress brought over food for both of them. Said the nice man paid for the meal. The next day they bumped into each other again during breakfast. This time she noticed he was with his mom and how sweet, attentive and loving he was with her.
    Alex, also notice the man. His handsome features and demeanor. They were destined to meet. After that breakfast encounter things got pretty interesting very fast.
    Alex is on the run from an abusive ex. She left him in California and is heading back home to her parents house in Florida. She never expected to find what she was missing on a cross country trip. Colton quickly finds out what is going on with Alex and all he wants to do is keep her and Maddi safe. But, its not that easy. He is faced with a woman that has been abused and has trust issues. He has to keep a distance and is not strong enough to do so. He eventually pulls away and that has Alex thinking she's not wanted by him.
    The story is a very quick read and it is full of so much beauty and emotion. I cried, I was sucked into how wonderful Colt is with Alex. His love for her is true and unconditional. He's older than her by 10 years and let me tell you it makes a huge difference. He adores her and all he wants is to do is give Alex and Maddi everything they deserve.
    I received this book from HEA Book Tours, PR & More in return for a fair and honest review.
    This is the third book in the Southern Boys series so I was very happy to be reimmersing myself in the charm of the South that is so prevalent within this stories.
    Colt is Maria's brother who stays near her after their father dies. He has his own business but also makes time to be with his family. He is full of charm and will do just about anything for those he loves. Is he perfect? No, but he comes damn close.
    Alex is a single mum who has had both happiness and heartbreak in her past. She was topsy-turvy in love with Maddi's dad, Troy, but their love wasn't meant to last as he was killed whilst on active duty and never actually found out that he was going to be a father. After a few years, a longtime friend who has been there for her along the way turns into a lover but things get nasty and Alex ends up running with Maddi to get away from him.
    A fateful stop in Brooklet allows her and Colt to meet and they never look back. Things are not always easy for them but you just know that they've got to be together so you allow the suspense to build up whilst keeping the faith for the HEA. Alex's ex isn't prepared to let her get away that easily though so they have that to deal with too.
    Yet another gentle yet hot, full of Southern charm and romance story, perfect for curling up with. I am loving these Southern Boys and hope to read more about them very soon.
    I received a copy of this book from Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review.
    Colt is another hero with that Southern charm that draws people in. Oh, and he's so sweet with his mama too. Plus, he's generous to poor women with a child who was obviously hungry but pressed for money too.
    I kind of felt like the whole relationship had that insta-love factor. I mean, the whol family, hell the whole town immediately warmed up to the heroine and treated her like family right away. Plus, the heroine also comes from a family who were all good people.
    The only trouble was the ex whom she ran away from, the one who was abusive. I liked that Colt was such a sweet and loving hero. I also understand the heroine's insecurities and wariness. It's normal for any woman who came from an abusive relationship to doubt everyone at first.
    I still liked this book, but I felt like the first two books worked better for me. I liked the hero and the heroine. It was the whole bunchc of secondary characters that got in the way for me. Nevertheless, it was still good, and I still enjoyed reading it.
    MY THOUGHTS~
    I was provided with a Review Copy/ARC for review.
    WOW! Author C.A. Harms definitely held true to the Southern Boys series with this 3rd book in the series, Loving Colt. I absolutely LOVED it! Each story in this series is unique in itself while still coinciding with the others and that alone speaks volumes to this author's talent. This is one of my favorite new series' right now.
    The writing in Loving Colt is amazing as are the characters, both new to the series and those already established. All of the main characters from both previous books: Forgiving Reed and Finding Gavin, are included in Loving Colt. We get more Gavin & Maria and their family as well as Reed & Kori and theirs. We also get some new characters introduced in this one with Alexis' family coming into the picture. I love them all!
    This is a must read for sure! I so hope there is more to come in the series! I'm seriously intrigued by Jett and Harper and either or both of them need a book!
    I got a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review for the blog tour I'm hosting.
    Loving Colt is book 3 in the Southern Boys series and we finally see everyone's happily ever after. With Reed and Kori to Gavin and Maria with their growing family.
    So Loving Colt follows Colton Maria's older very protective brother who haven't really found love again after his heartache. And Alexis who lost her love a couple years ago and is on the run from the wrong guy she dated.
    Loving Colt shows us that love knows no age, no boundaries and no walls. It shows us that as soon as you open up your heart you never know what to expect and sometimes the good happens.
    Colt help Alexis face her fears and grow stronger. In the same time their love for each other grows stronger to and nothing can break it. But trust me there will be some that try, don't stress they won't succeed. Unfortunately it will have you on the edge of your seat and praying it will turn out for the best.
    Loving Colt is a feel good love story that will make you want more.
    I give it 4 Loving Stars.
    Colt I had hopes for that boy and C.A. kinda squashed them, I wanted him alpha but I knew in the last book he was tendered hearted and that's what we got with a hint of alpha, which surprisingly I liked especially when his woman is Alex, now I'm not saying anything is wrong with the girl but she's a fragile one. As all of C.A.'s men Colt is protective, "I knew Alex had gone to yard sales with my mom and Maria. I don't know why the thought of her scrounging for clothes and personal items bothered me so much." Colt there was a scene where he was a nervous wreck, and as mean as this is I kinda found it amusing that a grown man was a nervous wreck, "yeah, Momma, I gotcha. Flowers, handshake." She was right. I just needed to calm the hell down." Once Colt gets a taste of his woman a storm is unleashed, "baby, this is all your fault. You were the one who gave yourself to me, and now I can't help myself." Generally we get a sense of whose coming up next in this series, we didn't get the sense this time around I'm hoping this isn't the last book in the series.
