I’ve been betrayed by someone I trusted. Because of him, I was captured by my loathed enemy: The vampires. Right now, the sun is still high in the sky, but I know when it sets, I’m as good as dead. They can’t wait to get their fangs into me. I guess some would say I have it coming. I did raise a lot of hell with my Resistance crew, and I was planning on raising a hell of a lot more at dawn before I was sold out by Jonah. The vampires, werewolves and dragons, have been trying to track me down for months and I’d always been two steps ahead of them.
*Laughs* I guess my number is up. I just hope they make it quick. You see, the vampires in my reality aren’t the romantic lot you read about in books. They don’t sparkle or hang out at high schools with their teenage girlfriends. Hell no, vampires are brutal, calculating, sadistic and bloodthirsty. As a matter of fact, all of the monsters are! That’s how they were able to take over the world so easily and change an entire civilization to suit their needs. Whatever happens, I know it’s not going to be pretty, so I’m preparing myself for the worst. May God help me.

Warning: This novelette series contains hardcore sexual situations between men, not meant for sensitive eyes. I’m talking crude, lewd and full of attitude. This series will most likely either offend you or get ya revved up. This series isn’t going to be pulling any punches whatsoever, so you’ve been warned. Mature Adult Content meant for readers looking for something dark, taboo, sexy, and unapologetic in their paranormal erotica. This is NOT a romance. This novelette is approximately 13300 words.

Ummm, did I read the same book as everyone else?
    description
Because this is nowhere near 5 stars. I actually stopped reading it last night so I could look at it with fresh eyes today and… yeah, this isn't even good torture porn. One hand job scene does not porn make despite the 86 citings of the word 'fuck' or a derivative thereof in 36 pages.

The writing style is clunky and jangly and absolutely riddled with SPaG errors. It's told in first person from Noel who has been captured by vampires after being some sort of vampire/supernatural hunter? I'm really not sure because the world building is non-existent. Whatever he's been doing has pissed off Theoden, über badass vamp extraordinaire dressed all in white
    description
And Theoden is going to make Noel his bitch. Apparently, the bitch making process begins with piercing all Noel's bits.

Some of the dialogue was laughable. I really couldn't get the visual of either Jake Genesis or Trenton Ducati calling Noel "boy" and telling him he now should consider his ass a pussy and that he WILL SERVE come hell or high water out of my head. Is there a Str8 to Gay paranormal edition? If not, they could use this as a screenplay with the addition of some actual fucking, of course.

I understand this is a serial. I can't in all honesty say I couldn't be tempted to read further but at 99¢ a pop…

In a world where mankind lost its battle against vampires, dragons and werewolves, a small faction of humans still fight for freedom.
Noel is one of that humans, but not for so long...

    description

Betrayed by one of his best soldiers, he's caught by the vampires.
Instead of killing him, Noel's punishment is to become a vampire.
Theoden will be his master, a destiny worse than death.
Theoden is notorious for being a sadist.

    description

This one, though I'm guessing it will be the softest of the series, have a bit of what may be a trigger for some.
    It's an m/m slavery story.
    Noel becomes Theoden's slave.
Will he embrace the vampire existence, or he will continue to rebel and suffer the pain for not submitting to Theoden?

My friend has just read and enjoyed Théoden and since I love vampires, werewolves and dragons I thought I’d start at the very beginning.

I read the warning and wondered if this might be too dark for me but I decided to give it a try. While this one isn’t particularly dark it’s not light either. I’ve read the blurb and some of the reviews for the next book and I suspect it’s going to be too much for me.

The part that most worried me about the warning was the ‘This is NOT a romance’ so while I can see the potential I just don’t think it’s for me. If my tastes change I might return to this but until then...

Uh. I obviously didn’t do my due diligence before I picked this up.

In short, this is all about Noah, human rebel and sworn enemy of vampires, who gets captured by said enemy, turned into what he hates, and is in for many many many hard fought lessons as he’s now basically under complete control by his new master.

So if you like graphic explicit noncon sex with brutal coercion and torture, then come on over! I was enticed by a free look into this series that has garnered rave reviews, but I’m just too squeamish to continue. Everyone else, please go forth and enjoy!

  • Elena

It was deliciously kinky and dirty as hell! :)
And I AM GOING TO CONTINUE with the series, especially when I'm in that I-love-me-a-chained-up-hot-sex-slave mood ;)
Only 3 stars? - Well, I really DO need some plot to my smut...

Recommended if you need some hardcore, porn-kinky, hot stuff and not much else in the story! ;)

4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.

This is one, dare I say, delightful dark treat. Noel has been fighting with the Resistance, against the Vampires and other creatures who have basically taken over, being the more powerful species. Unfortunately, he was sold out by someone he trusted and has been captured by the Vampires. As punishment, rather than a swift death he had hoped for, Noel is given to one of the more powerful Vampires, Theoden, who turns him into the very thing he despises and has fought against, and basically makes him his pet.

I’d like to say Noel is the star here, but honestly, Theoden steals the show. He is what he is – a bad ass vampire who takes what he wants for himself. He has control over those he turns and already maintains a small harem for himself. He turns Noel and intends to break and use him until he understands his new place.

Noel fights his new vampire tendencies as much as possible, but there is only so much he can do, and that’s without much interference from Theoden. He is forced to feed and kill his best friend, which is only the beginning of his torment. Theoden has many many creative ideas of torture in his repertoire, and he leaves no doubt he will not hesitate to use them when necessary to enforce his rules.

This first installment sets the stage for what is to come and gives a real sense of how things are going to be. There are no frilly love scenes. You get a sense that Noel will eventually have feelings for Theoden, but you really don’t know for sure, especially given Theoden’s overall nature, which we only really get a glimpse of at this point.

The story is fast-paced, and while it is short, there is a lot packed in. This is a serial, so we will get short installments, hopefully fairly quickly. It ends before things really get going, but the next segment is right around the corner.

Nicholas has given us a dark erotic, no holds barred, paranormal fantasy almost dystopian in nature. A place where Vampires and other creatures are higher on the totem pole and make no bones about it. I could not read this fast enough and could not wait to get my hands on the next one. I want more! More Theoden/Noel/other vamps, more about the other creatures, definitely more of the intense sexy scenes that are sure to come, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

I went to read this book with my eyes open. I am a romantic at heart and knew this one didn't have any. Well, I liked it. First, the writing style was so engaging, so matter-of-fact that I ate the story up with a big spoon. The background was well-written, I got an understanding about what was what. This new version of paranormals sounds very new and the references to modern culture are very amusing. As for the s*e*xual part of this book it was not as gritty as I imagined although I could have gone without certain bodily fluids. There was just something so entertaining in the story that I wanted to read the next book right away. So yes, it was good. :-)

  • Sue bowdley

Well...that certainly was quite a hot read.....Now I need book two...dammit.....I think Noel had balls of steel to act like he did...I've not read any erotica vampire books but this was certainly a great read....I think this is going to be a seriously hot read and it's certainly well written.....I don't often give five stars to books this short but when it is all put together it's gonna be one hell of a book x

  • Angelica

Could have used a good editor. I didn't feel any empathy towards Noel and his torture, probably because the narration was that of the typical inflated badass main character. Noel's wit took away the sense of gloom and darkness that I was expecting, and the grammatical errors were also distracting.

The worldbuilding is also lacking, but this is the first installment in a series, so it will probably be expanded in the next books.

  • Trio

Okay, that ended up being pretty cool. I'm not a huge one for vampires but so far this is more steam-punk/paranormal, well except for the fact that the vampire just made the MC into a vampire... I'm definitely reading the next one.

This is the introduction to a dystopian world. You only get tiny glimpses, but they whet your appetite to get to know this new Earth. And you get a little taste of the pornographic BDSM scenes - not for the faint of heart.

An ampallang piercing is when I drive this little beauty here horizontally through the glans of your cockhead. You do have a very pretty cock. Thick, long…well-shaped and suited
for that gorgeous body of yours that I now possess.

I plan on completing the look with an Apadravya, which is a piercing through your glans vertically, right through your urethra, both times.  It’s called the ‘magic cross’. But that’s not all.
😲😲😲 Oh my, be still my heart, be still

  • Beck

Okay … this story has some potential but as it stands, is a mess … this reads like it was written by a very young person who has attempted to be super bad arse and just took it too far … it’s like the difference between Olympic wrestling and pro wrestling … this story became almost theatrical and farcical in it’s bad-arsery and thus, didn’t work … with a decent editing team, this author has potential but isn’t proficient yet.

In summary, in case the author reads reviews and appreciates advice, the main issues, aside from over-exuberance, were:
    • Mixed metaphors
    • Poor paragraphing
    • Overly long sentences
    • Poor formatting for e-book format
    • Mixed tenses
    • Woeful lack of basic grammar like commas
    • Weak world-building leading to paradoxes
    • Colloquialisms (from the fictional world) without enough context for the reader to deduce the immediate meaning

  • Danielle Harris

    Amazing.

This is another fabulous book by this author. I can't wait to read more in this series. Bring on the darkness.

This just gets better and better with every read. Oh how I have missed Theoden. Phew. ❤️❤️❤️

Even better the second time around. Foreshadowing of things to come and seeing Noel from the beginning was just awesome. I needed this re-read.

Yeah the Cullens are no where in sight. I'm pretty intrigued by this premise and how this starts. The MC is likable and the perspective on the "embracing", well it's...yeah I'm not going to lie...it's pretty arousing.

I'll definitely continue. No love story here at all. It's pretty brutal but it's vampires..so it's totally expected.

Oh and apparently there are werewolves and dragons but so far they are a no show.

    ***

    Theoden

Théoden stared hard at me with those steely gray eyes, and I felt something ominous and powerful encompass me. The hairs on my body stood on end as this presence wrapped itself around me and began to squeeze. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, but being a vampire, that wasn’t a problem. If anything, this exercise in who’s boss was teaching me we could stop breathing if we needed to. That wasn’t the problem. I was panicking, yes, but I could feel my bones grinding against their joints and cracking as the presence squeezed tighter. I screamed from the pain and struggled to break free of whatever had a hold of me.

10% done with Embraced: I was only fourteen at the time and had no idea supernatural creatures even existed. That was the shit you saw in movies, hell, they even sparkled in the fucking world of fiction. The vampires in my reality don’t fucking sparkle, twinkle, or glow in the dark… unless you count their eyes, and that’s only when they want them to.

32% done with Embraced: “The truth is that once you’re turned, your master will have control over you for all eternity. There’s no release, ever. All your master will have to do to make sure you obey is will it, and you won’t be able to refuse him anything.” He leaned forward, so that his lips were close enough to my ear to brush against it. “And I do mean anything .

97% done with Embraced: Théoden smiled and nodded. “You’re learning. So let’s begin, shall we? I must say, I’ve been enjoying this night.” He started walking towards me, and I knew I was in for a world of pain.

8% done with Embraced: Forget the bullshit you’ve read in those paranormal romance books where the vampires with dark pasts are all noble and shit and just want to fall in love with their soul mates. Fuck that shit. If you believe they’re like that, you’re already dead. The vampires in my reality are cruel, vicious, manipulative, brutal and blood-thirsty, and that has nothing to do with their hunger, which, by the way, is damn near insatiable.
It's wrong to be grinning, isn't it?

DMC'ers unite! This is definitely dark material. At times you cannot look away even if you want too - but the characters are so fascinating and they do show development. It's not just spank bank material for those amongst us who like it very rough and preferably unwilling. I am very with an author who can go to the dark place and keep me engaged with what's happening. Until I got to the end of the first season it felt a bit overdone - overexposed almost. However, upon reflection I found as I read through the books that the all the stuff from the initial book mattered a great deal and framed the way I looked at decisions and people...as a serial it works very well. Cannot wait for season #2!

  • Tamara

This review is for whole season 1.
    The Good:
I love the story and slight glimpses into this world. I'm intrigued and I want to read more.

    The Bad
I think these books would have been better as one book instead of 6 parts. I liked these books but they are over priced. Sometimes 2.99 for 70-ish pages which is a bit much.

I wish Noel didn't submit so easily and his Master has no weaknesses. What fun is that?

  • Aղցela W.

This was a short quick read that I liked. I read book three in this series by accident so I thought that I would start from the beginning of this series. Noel was captured by the vampires he was a hunter instead of killing him they give him to Théoden his new vampire master. Noel will not submit easy and Théoden likes a challenge. This book was well written with no errors in spelling or grammar. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

    Um..yeah no.
I'm a non-con girl, I love non-con stories. This did nothing for me. I didn't feel anything, good or bad towards anyone. Maybe it's just the set up, and it will improve, but for book 1, nope, not feeling it.

I'm hooked - this is so wrong on so many levels and I love it! There are too many of these to write a review for each so I'm just going to do my overall thoughts after I finish each episode :)

    On to the next!

  • Daria

A new to me author woop woop and I must say I enjoyed the experience. I've always had a thing for Vampires... good, bad never mattered. This is a short little read and to the point, the negative sighs big here.. its a cliffy you're going to want to have book 2.
Noel spiting made and very vocal in his hatred for the monsters that has taken over... Vampires, Dragon...Werewolves oh my.
He was part of a resistance that was fighting against the beastly take over, unfortunately there are still humans out there that will sell a friend for a better life. Once captured Noel is told his fate....
Theoden the Lord Vampire sexy confident and sadist. Can he really be all that bad... when the a male of the Resistance is caught, Lord Vamp is the one that gets the meal. He exudes power and raw appeal that will be very hard to deny if one is able to deny him at all. Disrespect him and he is swift and and dangerous. His punishments and love for inflicting pain legendary.
This was a easy and enjoyable read, loved the play by play between human and best. My fav scene... the “trial” I can only wish the book was just a bit longer. (smiles) Hot and dark and ooh so good. Enjoy.

  • Cindyg

wow...definitely not for the faint of heart. and definitely not a love story between a master vampire and a human. I liked it and I'm going onto the next book.
be advised that this was only 60 pages long, but long enough to get me interested. some scenes are brutal so just be ready.
I recommend this story for people that are open to m/m scenes, harsh treatment of others, consensual or otherwise.
    so you've been warned!!!

I'm not sure how to rate this. I'm not giving it just one star because it was bad or Nicholas Bella's writing style was awful. It was, in fact, on point and it perfectly delivered what the premise of this series promised. However that very crude, lewd, unapologetic and taboo tidbits were conveyed by the writing far too well, actually very loud and clear throughout this "novelette". And that's my main "complaint". I wanted to close my eyes and just get over it, put this book down for the foreseeable future. Yet, I was utterly compelled by the story portrayed by the author, I was riveted by every single and I wanted to know how Noel predicament ended. And that's the main reason I think I'm gonna continue on with this series. I'm actually looking forward to read the end of it and see if I can change my mind about my rating and my feelings for this book.

That being said, my one-starred review is - I reckon - temporary, and that the story is hideous. Just that it wasn't my cup of tea. For now.

  • Wendy❤Ann

First, let me get the obvious out of the way. I hope the author has a chance to put this story through another round of editing. I can usually overlook a few mistakes – unfortunately, it’s almost commonplace in today’s ebooks. However, this one had more than a few and I found myself highlighting them because of their frequency. It was distracting.

That being said, I very much enjoyed the story. I was quickly drawn into the thick of things and more than intrigued enough to make me want to continue reading the series. I love different, dark, and gritty, and I think this series promises to deliver that in spades. There’s a limited amount of world building, but enough to give a sense for how Noel ended up in his predicament. Theoden definitely seems like one helluva sadistic bastard. I sincerely hope that Noel has enough sense to take what’s coming to him next and leave well enough alone – otherwise, ouch! On to the next episode…

  • Anne

What a dark and sexy start of a series!!!
With the first words and pages a got hooked instantly by this dark and sexy Story! The writing is easy and you really can't put it down till you finished the last sentence.
It's far away to be romantic with a HEA to be expected, no way. But i love that aspect very much! You will likewise hate but also be drawn to Theoden, this sexy cruel SOB-Vampire to get in charge with his new "pet"! And Noel, the poor guy that get's a punishment he would have expected last....
The only thing i have to complain about is that this hot and sexy book is far too short....but lucky us, the second book will hopefully be available in near future!

  • Missy Fern - BFD Book Blog

This is book 1 in a series. With only 40+ pages, it went straight into action. You don't get any background or real depth, just immediate conflict. This is not a story for the faint hearted. Sadistic master vamp, Theodon, vs defiant rebel leader, Noel, both males. This is not a love story; there's sex but it's all about violence, control and dominance.

3.5 stars. This book was too short, almost teaser. I will continue with the story because it did capture my interest. Is what Noel is fighting for a lie? But, others might need more time with the main characters in this first book to continue.

  • Don

Wait a minute. Did I read the wrong book, here? I seriously thought I was reading a parody of a 50s Vincent Price movie script, something with Doom or Blood in the title. I actually laughed aloud once or twice at the dialogue (read in an evil voice to get the full effect). To say the writing is sophomoric is to be kind. The characters are caricatures, the world is nonexistent and the writing in the Prologue is so forced that it could only have come from the pen of a very young, inexperienced author. Let it not be said that I didn't give it a chance. I DNF at 70%.
