Innocence Lost (After the Event #3) Reviews

This series keeps giving you more of the same, the author keeps the story raw and gripping, still killing off characters left, right and centre. Sometimes the jumps in time seem significant but really they aren't I suppose. What's interesting is that I ain't concerned in what caused the black out yet because reading the journeys of the different characters are keeping my interest.

I just started the 4th book in this series. I love the attention given to the remaining members of the family the story has focused on from the beginning. Each of the children's stories are adventurous & pretty hard in their post-apocalyptic world. I am looking forward to next book & anxious to see if any of them reunite.

Although I like the plot of the story, the grammatical errors, misspelled words, and the omitting of words was a distraction to the reading. I found myself fighting the urge to correct the mistakes and wondering who edited her books.
The character development is progressing; however, I find the gaps of several weeks/months per character and then the switch between them to leave me with a sense of disconnection. When I read these books, I feel like I'm following separate event sequences for each character, even though I know their stories are intertwined and connected and happening all within the same time period.
Overall, I like the idea of SHTF by power outage. It reminds me of the film, "Goodbye World". In our current day and age, everyone is reliant on electricity, electronics, stores - and people really don't realize how easily all of that could be taken away. -
Getting better
Well, after reading the third installment this series, I am I bit more impressed. Although, there still seems to be some disconnect with the whole of this plot and the author's intent. There is a lot of emotional situations being dealt with simultaneously, there is something missing. I am onto the fourth installment, hoping that the story gets tied together with purpose. I want to credit this author with the realistic plot. I hope by reading the entire series the end justifies the means. I get rather bored still as I read on...This definitely was the best installment so far. I would recommend this series to other person's with interest in this genre. -
adventure in dystopian age
Wow, the first book...I was like ok. It was just setting up the scene. After the second book I was high on the adventure and couldn't wait for book 3! Innocence Lost was amazing and heartbreaking. One person can destroy a whole community. I admire Ally and loved Tiger! Even Ben is growing up too fast ( hence innocence lost...) for all of them. Left in a cliffhanger I am dying for Book 4...will Ben, Ally and Alec find each other again? -
Good story, needs an editor
Four stars for the story. I love the characters. But the constant miss spellings, uses of the wrong words or extra words interfere with the flow.
The fourth book is due out soon and I seriously hope the author got an editor. Because it is a good story and I would give it five stars if not for the many errors and need for editing
Still, recommend it. -
It continues
The trail of death and pain continue in Book 3. You feel every emotion. You become a member of the b family. The settlement. The friendship. You feel the fear of the people. This book is well written and a must read series. -
I liked this book a lot and I would have rated it a 4 if it had been better edited. I rarely comment on editing but the last half of the book was so poorly edited that it kept pulling me out of the story. I will read book four but if it's as bad I'll be quitting the series.

I can't believe I spent money on this.
This series was terrible. Money and time I will never get back. Do yourself a favor and don't waste either on this garbage. -
Great Chatacters
I was hoping the series would keep moving forward and it did. The really enjoyed both Alec and Ally's chapter in particular. -
A good third installment
3.5 stars. Good storyline. Easy to read. Still needs a good edit.
Not sure I'm ready for the fourth book yet. -
Editor desperately needed.
