Pete is taking a train trip with his mom and brother to visit his grandma. On the train, he gets a tour and makes friends. Pete the Cat is always a favorite in this house. It's been a while since we read our last one and my six-year-old read has been practicing her reading skills lately so we found 'I Can Read Shared Reading' title to read together. Truth be told, she read most of it and I listened/helped with some words. This is a great book for beginner readers to read, someone who has mastered the CVC and CVCC words and are beginning to recognize sight words.

A Pete the Cat for older readers. More expanded in content, but I felt it was missing the cuteness that the original Pete the Cat has. I feel kids transitioning from the "original" Pete the Cat to this level will enjoy though.

Pete the cat takes a train ride to go see Grandma. He learns all about the train and meets some new friends on board, that he plays some fun new games with.
As always these books are very bright and colourful with fun illustrations. -
Doesn't really have the humor or spirit of the picture books, but this is a nice easy reader that will be good for kids just starting to read independently. I liked that Mom's book was called "Meow Meow Meow."
