Warning: Ebola could kill 4.1 billion people over the next 24 months!

The recent outbreak of Ebola in Africa may seem like some fictional account that you might see in a movie. After doing the research for this book with members of AMRIID (Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease) I feel that it is not unrealistic to see a future (18-24 months from now) where the number of infected individuals surpasses half of the population of the earth.

Let me state that again - in the next 24 months the number of humans effected by and infected with Ebola could be more than 6 billion.

What you read may in fact save your life or the lives of your friends and families.

The Ebola virus was discovered in two African countries (Sudan and Congo, then known as Zaire) in 1976. The affected region in Congo was near the Ebola River, which is how the virus got its name.

An infectious and generally fatal disease marked by fever and severe internal bleeding, spread through contact with infected body fluids by a filovirus (Ebola virus), whose normal host species is unknown.

Ebola, until recently, was a rare but deadly virus that causes bleeding inside and outside the body.

As the virus spreads through the body, it damages the immune system and organs. Ultimately, it causes levels of blood-clotting cells to drop. This leads to severe, uncontrollable bleeding.

The disease, also known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever or Ebola virus, kills up to 90% of people who are infected. That’s 9 out of every 10!

In a nutshell: Symptoms include a sudden onset of fever, muscle aches, weakness, sore throat and headache. These symptoms are followed by vomiting, diarrhea and a rash. As the infection progresses, many people develop bleeding in the internal organs and outside openings of their body.

Early on, Ebola can feel like the flu or other illnesses. Symptoms show up 2 to 21 days after infection and usually include:

• High fever
• Headache
• Joint and muscle aches
• Sore throat
• Weakness
• Stomach pain
• Lack of appetite

As the disease gets worse, it causes bleeding inside the body, as well as from the eyes, ears, and nose. Some people will vomit or cough up blood, have bloody diarrhea, and get a rash.

This book may save your life!
