Everything is fun and games until someone gets hurt, and what Jameson Kane did to Tatum O'Shea goes so far beyond hurt, he is well into the realm of unforgivable. Tate says she wants him gone for good, and he quickly learns that the old saying, “you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone”, is most definitely true.

But Jameson has never been very good at following instructions, and when Satan decides to seek redemption, he'll go to great lengths to get it. He proposes one last game – one to end them all, if she agrees to play. He is very confident that he can win, but Tate warns him that it's not possible; she will not lose again. Little does she know, Jameson is prepared to do whatever it takes. Prepared to lay the entire world at her feet. Prepared to bear his soul.

What he didn't count on, though, was handing the damn thing over.

Now Jameson can only pray that his evil ways haven't rubbed off on Tate too much. Sometimes, it's very difficult to tell who the Devil really is …

WARNING: contains a semi-reformed devil, a woman scorned, and more Sanders than anyone has a right to witness. Also graphic sexual situations and strong language.

★★★★★★! Separation, book 2 of 3.5. Larger-than-life Jameson Kane met his match in Tate, but two of my all-time fave MCs have a long road ahead!

“He wants to play a game, and I'm just trying to get out alive this time.”

Books in The Kane Trilogy should be read in order:
    Book 1:
    Degradation
    Book 2:
    Separation
    Book 3:
    Reparation
    Part 3.5:
    Completion

In Degradation (book 1) Tatum E. O'Shea, Tate crossed paths with Jameson Kraven Kane, Kane aka Satan seven years after being caught in a compromising position with him while he dated her sister.

The story went on to follow Jameson Kane’s relentless pursuit of Tate to have an open sexual relationship where she was at his disposal. But Tate, older and wilder, wasn’t easily coerced. Sure she was all up for the aggressive sex with a dirty-talking Jameson, but the bossing around part she did not take to kindly.

The game/power struggle that ensued was nothing short of volatile sprinkled by witty bantering, amazing sex and hints of deeper emotions…

Separation (book 2) opens up right after book 1’s shockingly painful and chaotic ending. Jameson Kane and Tate have a long road of forgiveness and healing ahead, sorting through the past, addressing what happened.

But that is if they can be in the same location at the same time…. Follow them across the pond as Jameson tries to be the reasoning force while jealous exes and villains stir... yet their biggest obstacles will always come from within!

“During sex, it was like he owned her body, her mind. Like they weren't hers anymore. Probably because they never were.”

     photo tkt1 H BS by sb_zpsgbpvk8hv.gif

Jameson Kraven Kane, Kane aka Satan with his classic good looks and imposing presence really stepped up his game and showed his insightful, caring and compassionate side. He’s going on my top-10-hero shelf.

Ten words to describe Jameson Kane aka Satan: Ruthless, enigmatic, closed-off, blunt, dirty-talker, jaded, private, callous, charming and secretive.

“According to your pussy, it's a very big fucking deal,” he teased.”

photo tkt1 he BS by sb_zpss68vexjs.gif

Tatum E. O'Shea, Tate is one of the best heroines I have ever met. Her combination of bad-ass, carefree, sexually liberated vixen to caring, considerate friend to hints of a vulnerable and lonely girl who just wants to be loved makes her a 5-star heroine!

Ten words to describe Tate: Unpredictable, care-free, smart, bad-ass, strong, vulnerable, enigmatic, liberated, endearing and captivating.

Separation is another chapter in Jameson and Tate’s tempestuous relationship. It’s about letting go and forgiveness and personal growth that will carry them past book 2 into book 3. I am very much looking forward to book 3,
    Reparation
for the conclusion of their saga.

Excellent character development! An all-time favorite and charismatic heroine! Larger-than-life, swoon-worthy and unforgettable Jameson Kane! Spectacular plot! Spell-binding storytelling with witty dialogue! 6-star shelf!

“It was only ever you,” Jameson whispered.”

ARC provided to me by author Stylo Fantôme in exchange for an honest review.

  • Stylo Fantome

I wanted to wait to leave my own review till people had a chance to buy the book for themselves and could read it on their own.

I always find it ..., interesting, when people are upset and surprised by the content in the first book. Yes, it is extreme at certain points, but I assumed most people would have an inkling of what kind of things might happen, just based on the title alone.

Separation is no different. My titles aren't on accident, or just to be cute (though they are darling!). As one other reviewer said perfectly, "forget everything you know about Jameson and Tate when you read this book." Separation is very different from Degradation - a literal separation from the first book.

    Separation

    noun

    1. an act or instance of separating or the state of being separated.

    2. a place, line, or point of parting.

    3. a gap, hole, rent, or the like.

    4. something that separates or divides.

This book made me more nervous than Degradation. Frankly, I don't think I would've been able to forgive Jameson. I didn't understand how Tate would be able to, or if she could. I don't believe in insta-love, and I - just me, personally - don't like reading about it. So that could not happen in my book. Time needed to be spent to heal. Things needed to be said, explained. Learned. Anger and frustrations vented. Stupidity would need to abound, cause hey, how many of us have been in perfect relationships (I better not see any raised hands)? Things needed to be addressed.

I would just like to remind people who read the first book:

A lot of comments and remarks I saw in reviews said: "What's wrong with Jameson!?". I was honestly a little surprised, and my first thought was, "absolutely nothing."

Jameson Kane is the worst kind of asshole, but that's just who he is. Love him or hate him. His kinky fetishes are a whole other aspect of him, and I never once equated them with being "wrong" or "bad" - weird, yes. Extreme, yes. Kinky, yes. Taboo, yes. But never wrong or bad.

I was desperate for him to explain that in the second book.

I wrote all three books in one go, start to finish, so it all sits in my head as one completed novel. Hence why I didn't think Degradation was dark. I think of it as a love story. A fucked up, backwards, weird, kinky, taboo, more-than-a-little-wrong, love story. With two people (and one Sanders) who aren't very good at loving.

Two people who sometimes aren't very good at being people, especially when it comes to how they treat each other.

In the last story I established Jameson as Satan in the flesh. This story, I wanted that image to become murkier. Maybe, just maybe, he's not the devil. Maybe it's someone else entirely.

I hope you read it. I hope you enjoy it. I hope it answers some questions, and I really hope it inspires a whole lot more.

As always, thank you for reading.

EDIT: (July 2018) - Yup, this book clearly suffers from the fate of majority second books in series/trilogies. And with every re-read, I'm realising more and more how bad friend Ang really is. Unhappy with Tate not being there when he wants to sleep with her? . Tate is not exactly in the best mental place during the second book and what Ang did? Come on, both things are pretty bad, and Ang absolutely knew that Tate would hate both.

EDIT (31/03/2018): I wanted to re-read the whole series, but for some reason, I've started with the second book. I still prefer Tate from the first book. I'm a bit frightened by her broken version and then annoyed with her crazy version.
But, guys! I thought that I hated Pet before but this time? I wanted just to throw her into wet cement and leave her there!
Also annoyed by what Angier did at the end. And acts all mighty, he did it just because he wanted to get back at Tate. He needs to be gone.

Original review: Well, this is the fate of second books in trilogies. I found this book the least good from the whole series. And I really missed the old Tate from the first book. Did not like this broken version of her. :(

"That someone who caused her so much pain, could bring her so much pleasure, just wasn't right. Wasn't fair. His lips were soft, almost gentle, and made to fit her own."-Tate

Separation is the second book in the Kane Trilogy. This book picks up immediately where Degradation left us hanging (Thank you Ms. Fantome!). Tate and Jameson have run their relationship straight off of a cliff. Does Jameson have the strength to pull Tate back in?

    description

Through her relationship with Jameson, Tate has experienced joy, pain, pleasure, and even love. After the way things ended, I wondered if Tate would be able to find herself again. Tate is completely broken. She gathers the courage to tear Jameson away from her life and tries to start again.

Tate finds solace in Sanderson and Ang. She even works to repair her relationship with her sister. And yet, she is missing something. Through giving up Jameson, she has lost a huge piece of herself in the process.

    "Why can't I lead a nice, normal life?"-Tate

    description

Jameson, feeling something that he can't quite identify, is willing to walk away from Tate. Or, is he?

"While he had been so busy trying to warn her away, he hadn't even noticed himself falling into her. Now Jameson couldn't tell where she began and he ended."-Jameson

    description

Through the help of Sanders, Jameson is able to coerce Tate into playing one more game. Can he truly win her back? If he does win her back, will he be able to keep her?

"His voice was like silk, smooth and strong. Flowing over her. Covering her. Strangling her. She had to get out of there. Tate couldn't look at him. It split her in half. Her brain knew one thing. Her heart recognized another. And good god, her body was completely mutinous."

    description

Stylo Fantome has done it again. She has managed to craft a story with deeply intense characters, dysfunctional (functional for them) relationships, a driving plot, maximum steam, and all set center stage with a beautiful scenic backdrop. Her writing style is fluid and natural and stock full of witty banter. The intensity between Tate and Jameson balances between "what is norm" and what is considered "toxic" to the average observer. Despite controversial choices of our two main characters, I find them both to be utterly perfect. I enjoyed wallowing in the depths of despair and soaring high through the moments of triumph with them. This certainly is not your average romance and yet the "push and pull" between these two characters displays more tenderness than any romance novel I have read to date.

"Tate couldn't get enough. She had always been an addict, and he was a drug. She wanted more. More than that, more than he was giving. All that he had to give."-Tate

    description

Overall, this series is a creative genius. It is as if you are listening to an award winning orchestra. Through the painful moments the music crescendos into blazingly loud volumes and it decrescendos to a beautiful melody when Tate and Jameson find solace in one another.

    description

If you read the first book and enjoyed it, than I can guarantee you will enjoy this book even more. There is more Tate and Jameson fighting to find their way together. Enhanced with a cast of amazing supporting characters and you have another home run!

"If necessary, he would probably kill for Jameson Kane. If asked, he would probably die for Tatum O'Shea. When the relationship between Jameson and Tatum."-Sanders

Can't chat anymore about this book because I am already on to the next one!

    4 - 4.5 Kane Jameson...sigh Stars

I have taken some time to really think about this one and review it as it’s own book. I loved book 1…I mean loved it! When I finished reading it I was on edge and had to start this book immediately. I think this is where my disappointment comes from, I expected things to keep going at the same momentum and they just fell flat for me.

Separation begins where Degradation leaves off. Tate is at the hospital and Kane is pretty much still a self-centered ass, that is until he realizes the repercussions of his actions. See I never hated Kane like most people. I am not sure if it is because I jumped into book 2 so quickly or if I could just see beneath his facade, either way I was able to look past his actions and see his reasons.

Tate and Kane have one interaction while she is the hospital and it is for her to finally tell him to leave. She wants him to leave for good, he is Satan and she fears next time things go south he may actually be successful in killing her. Now is that a little melodramatic…maybe, but then again their relationship has been toxic. Kane decides to give her space. During this time Tate’s friendship with Sandy grows. I truly love Sanderson, he is their voice of reason - and one of my favorite things about this trilogy.

So while it may seem Kane has changed and he is actually giving in to her demands, it is just a matter of time before he shows back up. Kane insist that her and Sandy come to Spain for a vacation. The catch, Tate doesn’t realize this is Kane’s idea, she thinks she and Sandy are going away alone. During this time Kane begins to work at convincing Tate they can be more, it wasn’t all a game.

"Because I want you to remember. That things used to be good between us. They used to be fun. Remember that sometimes, just maybe sometimes, I wasn’t the devil.”

In this book we see a very different side of Kane. He is more open and willingly to show Tate his feelings. He wants her to see that their relationship was more to him then he originally let on. I loved this side of Kane, because while he was more open and willingly to work for her, he was still the same man. He is still was an asshole, he has just tamed his asshole ways for her. He still likes rough sex and degrading her, he just doesn't want to push her too far.

The girl we once knew in Tate is gone, the trust she once had has been destroyed. No matter what Kane says or does, she still sees the worse in him. She doesn’t want to want him, but deep down she can’t fight it. These two are a perfect match and I honestly became so frustrated she couldn’t see that he was sorry. I know it is easy for me since we can read his POV, but that is where the majority of my frustration with this one came from…I didn’t feel like we were moving forward.

These two are both so damaged and together they are an epic train wreck, but dammit I couldn’t look away if I tried. I am not sure what it is about these two that has me completely involved and dying to read more. I think it is the hope that they can both overcome their issues and find happiness…I am a sucker for a HEA. Despite this one being slower, I do still recommend the series, because it is completely addictive.

5 "Separation is not an Option" Stars

Can you forgive someone who completely crushes you? Who chews you up and spits out you? Who changes you? If they say they are sorry, can you get past the past? Can you trust again? Can your heart and soul survive The Devil for a 3rd time?

     photo Separation_zps72e8688a.jpg

Separation begins right after Degradation and I immediately jumped from one book to this one due to the ending. As you can probably guess from the title-Separation- the actions of Jameson at the end of Degradation set up Tate for Separation from Jameson and from herself.

     photo 1e18b80fe1ca1d2f6d0a4e80d760abf3_zpsluu4kpzk.jpg

Jameson broke Tate. His actions took her on a down ward spiral to hell. Jameson completely messed up and he wants to fix things but Tate only wants Jameson out of her life. She couldn’t believe that Jameson would ever be sorry for his action. She just wanted a separation. But Jameson doesn’t take no very well; he decided to give her some space. He was truly sorry for his actions and he decided that “They” were in fact “Not Over” because as he told Tatum right before he left ”See you around, baby girl” - “No, you won’t” and his reply “I will if I want to.”

I completely devoured this book. Jameson was moving heaven and earth to prove to Tate that he was so sorry for his actions, that he was wrong to want to hurt her, that they could in fact get past their mistakes. While there were times when Tate wanted to believe Jameson, her heart couldn’t get past what he did. He never wanted a future with Tate and always told her that. The problem started when Jameson decided that he didn't want to lose Tate. He didn't want to play anymore. This is most definitely not a game anymore. This woman..., she owns me.

     photo d73200d97998c1d1eaf423e96b61cd14_zpsiig0oftn.jpg

I will say that I wanted to smack Jameson many times. I loved that I was privy to his POV but I wanted to shake him for his lack of communication skills. He would start out well, he opened up to Tate and told her things but he just never executed to his fullest potential. And for that reason, Tate was always leery, was always scared and always remembered. But I will say that Tate was not as forth coming as she should have been. She wanted to believe Jameson but she never really told him what she wanted. I just kept thinking if they would both be truly honest with one another....

     photo ca6b2e8b2cf932a25ffc816c93b4d4c8_zpsdh7upi2z.jpg

I love, love, love Sanders. Sanders was incredibly sweet, loving, determined and confident in his abilities to bring Tate and Jameson back together. He believed in them and did what he always deemed appropriate to help. He always spoke the truth.......
”You should stop playing games, both of you. Say how you feel, mean what you say,” he replied bluntly.

"If you both stop trying to assume what each other are doing and thinking, and just ask each other once in a while, things would be much better between you," he informed her.

There is a lot of drama going on. Fist of all, Nick Castille, Boston Red Sox BB Player, is never too far away, hoping that Tatum might choose him. He is her steady rock, not asking for anything yet hoping for everything from her. Then there is Jameson's evil, skanky, diabolical ex that keeps showing up. Finally, there is also drama with Ang, Tate's BFF. His loyalties to Tate are questioned when he keeps a secret from Tate.

While the drama, the evilness, and the deceits play out, can Tatum move forward? Can she become the girl she once was? Can she just play with Jameson even though she thinks that is all he wants? Or will she just decide enough is enough and leave or maybe just play one more game........

Stylo, I loved book 2. I will admit that when I finished this book around 1 am, I immediately jumped into book 3. Not so much a cliffy, I just wanted more Jameson and Tate!! I had to know how their story ended.

    ***3.5 Death by Angst Stars!***

Oh goodness. Ok, before I get started, please know that I absolutely LOVED Degradation. That will go down as one of my fave books of 2014. Tatum had to be one of my very fave heroines. I actually wanted to BE Tatum.

    Castings:

     photo imagejpg1_zps57c38ded.jpg

In Separation, we get to see Jameson trying like hell to earn her forgiveness. He apologizes, he grovels he caters to her every wish, lets her hit him, degrade him, embarrass him......I can go on. At the end of the day, his resolve does not lessen ONE BIT. And I did love this aspect of the book. However, it is a one step forward two steps back kind of book. I am all for angst, and believe me, I am trying to be a little more tolerant and forgiving than usual because of how much I love this story in general and these characters but, what the fuck was Tatum's problem here?!?!? I tried to go there and put myself in her shoes and yes, what he did was horrible, but, when is enough, enough? I feel like we didn't move forward AT ALL here. All that happened in Separation was that we got to see that the devil does indeed have a heart and we got to dwell on everything that Jameson did in Degradation for 250 pages. I seriously felt like we were dealing with an entirely new heroine here. Where Tatum was confident, bad ass, and fierce in Degradation, she is a total coward, weak, and whiney in Separation. How many times can you throw the same shit in his face? And I get that she has trust issues and I get that she has self-loathing issues...but, I get that from book 1. I don't feel like any of that was explored or shown to me in this book. Nope, instead, I was seriously wondering if this was going in a psychological thriller direction (I still kind of am- and I will say, if something like that is what's brewing here and THAT'S why this all occurred, then maybe I will feel differently at the end of the entire series) and if we are about to witness her have a total mental/ psychotic break. Either that, or she has a mental deficiency of some sort. It was TOO MUCH!!!!! Enough with the revenge bullshit and the game talk. Just felt like we were beating the dead horse here to a pulp! This book could have been reduced to five chapters, tops, and lumped into the front of book 3.

I do absolutely love Sanders and Jameson and this author is still a great writer. The flow and writing ability is amazing. And I was entertained the whole time, I just didn't like what I was being entertained with. There were some amazing scenes that I did love- like the role reversal scene and the whole boat/ anchor scene. I love Nick (I am a legitimately HUGE Red Sox fan!), and Ang...ugh...I have mixed feelings on that guy.

Basically, for as great as Degradation was, I was expecting a whole lot more here. I thought the dynamic between these two was fantastically unique in Degradation and now? They are just like every other tired, stale, used up story line out there. Male whore meets insecure chick and tried to convince her that he's different. Been there....sooo fucking done that!

I am really hoping that Reparation is better.

And again, it pains me to write this because I have gotten so invested in this story, and I really wanted to love it. :( I would still recommend this series as a whole. It's a wild roller coaster ride and it is freakishly addicting!!!

    My fave quotes--

"If necessary, he would probably kill for Jameson Kane. If asked, he would probably die for Tatum O'Shea." - Sanders

“You and I will never be finished, Tate. Haven't you figured that out yet?” -Jameson

"This is most definitely not a game anymore. This woman ..., she owns me." - Jameson

"It was only ever you, ” Jameson whispered. “Two weeks ago, four months ago, seven years ago . This whole time . Always you.” -Jameson

Gahh...TATE! Cut the poor guy a break in Reparation!! ;)

    Can the Devil be forgiven?

Separation picks up where Stylo Fantôme so cruelly left us hanging at the end of Degradation. Pretty much, Tate with her life slipping away, a victim of Jameson’s cruel vengeance for her perceived misdemeanour. His misplaced anger and the consequences of his spiteful revenge, his lashing out in fury to hurt Tate have had far-reaching consequences. Everyone is altered and everyone seems to be in a place of pain. Nothing that’s been said or done can be unsaid or undone but Jameson has now had time to take a long, hard look at himself and his actions in the cold light of day and doesn’t like what he sees. He knows he needs to make amends and sorry might be the hardest word to say but Tate will find it even harder to accept that apology.

It’s safe to say that Tate is a shell of her former self. Jameson’s actions and her brush with death have removed a lot of her natural sparkle and she’s a little lost and is kind of plodding through life when she used to skip. Her friends are worried about her an she’s forged a special relationship with Sanders who is like a child who’s parents are divorcing and is desperate to get them back together and he contrives to reconcile them. Jameson, for his part, goes along with it all – he’s keen to make amends for what he has done, trying so hard to apologise to Tate and wants to get them back to where they were before in that deliciously dark and dirty sexual relationship. He can’t let her go and will go all out to get her back.

I so very much enjoyed this second outing with Jameson and Tate. The middle book of a trilogy can end up being ‘filler’ – it’s neither a beginning or an ending but Stylo Fantôme does a fantastic job of moving the story on significantly and giving all the characters emotional growth. Despite considering Jameson to be the actual devil incarnate at the end of Degradation, I ended Separation feeling more than a little sorry for him and was just fizzing at Tate. Yes, the man has done wrong, very wrong in fact but he apologises relentlessly and is deeply sincere in his own way but Tate just cannot find it in her heart to forgive him and firmly believe that revenge is a dish best served cold and she is cooking all sorts of nefarious plans to equal his and Jameson had better watch out. She’s constantly throwing that night back in his face and it appears that she can neither forgive, nor forget He had best remember that hell hath no fury like a women scorned and Tate is no average woman. Oh boy, does this girl know how to hold a grudge!

Despite his apologies, Jameson is absolutely no saint. Expect the same kind of edginess, especially in the sex scenes, that made Degradation such a stunning debut. He’s still very dominant, very sadistic and Tate is still his perfect foil, whatever she may think. This very much walks the line of an edgy erotic romance and I found it another compelling, irresistible read even if I wanted to bitchslap Tate a time or two!

I’d like to touch a little on the genre of this trilogy. I very much considered Degradation to be ‘dark romance’ when I finished it. The title gives away what you can expect inside – very much dark, edgy sex scenes with plenty of humiliation and an apparent lack of emotional connection, at least at first but Separation brings us to a much more emotional part of the whole story. Now, as I look back at the two books as a whole, I see it far more as an erotic romance with a strong side dish of kink. These are two people who have strong feelings for one another who enjoy a robust and salacious sex life and Separation takes us much further into their hearts and feelings for one another whereas Degradation mostly explored their initial attraction and their physical connection all leading up to that fateful night which will change the way both of them feel.

A HUGE shout out must go to Sanders – what an amazing character he has turned out to be. I thought him a cold fish at first and definitely Jameson’s demonic sidekick but I was so wrong and, now his background and character have been given some exposure, I love him so very much. His story really is heartbreaking and I so very much need to see this man find some happiness and, please Stylo, write a book for him!

This was a great second book from Stylo which I devoured in pretty much the same way I did the first and must now endure the endless wait for book three! It’s flawlessly written – dry, witty and totally compelling. It’s sexy, angsty and will leave you desperate for the conclusion of this very fucked-up couple’s story. This trilogy and this author have been one of my greatest discoveries this year – one of the most exciting new voices in erotic romance. I can’t wait for the conclusion for this trilogy and really do expect great things in the future.

    Redemption and Revenge.

After the dramatic conclusion of Degradation, Jameson is left with guilt and a realisation that his feelings for Tate run deeper than he thought. Tate is not going to forgive easily and rightly so.

When Sanders helps bring them back together, a new game begins. when Jameson insists that she won't be able to fight him anymore.

We definitely saw a softer side to Jameson and by the end of the book I was shouting at Tate to forgive him but understood why she was distrustful and hurt.

I can't wait for the conclusion, I have fallen in love with these two dysfunctional characters.

We also get a chapter from Sanders which was fantastic, who doesn't love Sanders?

When I read the title “Separation” I cringed. I don’t like it when the main characters are apart in book two of any series, but do not fret! It’s not like that.

I loved book one, so I went into Separation with a lot of caution.

Separation picks up where Degradation left off. Tate almost died, she went kind of crazy and now she’s working on getting over HIM and moving on with her life. I loved the way Degradation ended. I wanted a crazy cliffy and boy did I get it.

So Tate is really wounded because she allowed herself to care for Kane, but he goes and brings his ex-girlfriend back home with him. Who does that? I guess a jealous Kane does. Tate doesn’t want anything to do with Kane.

Kane messed up big time and he’s trying to make amends. He realizes what he did was very wrong and he will do anything to get Tate back. I love it when the Hero chases after the Heroine after a big fight. I got a lot of angst and sexual tension.

What I love about the writing is that there is no flowery writing or “I Love You’s”. I feel like Kane and Tate are their own unique characters and both own up to it.

I like how determined Tate is. She becomes closer to baseball player Nick and of course Ang is still her best friend she leans on. I like how ruthless and mean Kane is. Of course he has to change a bit to chase down Tate, but he still stays true to his character.

Tate mentions Kane having sex with his ex-girlfriend, not saying he does or doesn’t, just that she mentions it all the time! It was driving me bonkers. I guess that’s my mild annoyance, is that some of the issues were repeatedly mentioned several times.

Separation overall was a good read. I did get a little frustrated towards the ending, because I feel like there’s only so many times Tate can push away before I get kind of angry and want to throw my tablet against the wall.

The ending left me a little unsettled and I may take a mini-break before I finish out the series. I’m not a big fan of angst, but I do appreciate it and can only handle it in mild doses.

I think I'm going to take a break to read the last one, this girl just needs to get over it and take him back and his money LOL....He loves her and she loves him too but she's too stubborn. I like it being stubborn a lit but honestly the entire book?! ugh..get over it!..enough said.

Tate got on my nerves in this one. Hopefully she’ll come around in the next book, cause even though I love her craziness, she can be a little too much at times. She’s punishing Jameson to an extreme to me. He’s apologized multiple times and showed her that she’s important to him, but still she doesn’t believe him. Her stubbornness is frustrating.

    A Sweeter Side Of Kane

Starting where 'Degradation' left off, this second book in The Kane Trilogy is a much more emotional read than the first book. Her near-death experience, and the events immediately preceding, have left Tatum a shell of the woman she once was. She's seen the light and is determined to keep her distance from the man that could drive her to such a low place. Instead, she goes through the motions of her daily life completely unfeeling.

Also deeply affected by her brush with death, Jameson is determined to win her back. He knows he screwed up big! He goes to great lengths to regain the relationship that they were starting to build before the ill-fated night of the party. He's willing to put in the work and groveling, if that's what it takes to get her back.

With the exception of Sanders, who plays a much larger role in this book (Yay!), all of the main characters seem to have been completely transformed. Jameson has learned patience and kindness. Tatum has been turned into a nun, at least for the first part of the story. Ang is inaccessible to Tatum and unfriendly. It is almost like an alternate universe! Clearly, Tatum's accident had a major impact on everyone around her.

One thing leads to another, and Tatum finds herself embroiled in yet another "game" with Jameson. He has one month to try and recapture her heart, or else walk away completely. He's determined to get her back. She's determined not to fall for his tricks again. Let the games begin!

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book. The sexual chemistry between Tatum and Jameson continues to be off the charts! I love a story that makes me feel conflicted and this story definitely did that. For the first half of this book I was torn between wanting Tatum to drag out Jameson's groveling and wanting her to just get over herself and jump his bones! For the last 1/4, I was getting pretty tired of Tatum's martyrdom. I wanted to shake her and tell her to get over herself! How much more does this lady expect???

With the big revelations at the end of this book, it is still unclear where the future is going to have in store for Tatum and Jameson. Tatum sees set on revenge, casting herself as the victim in her own life story. Jameson is the ultimate "guy you love to hate", so I'll be interested to see if there ends up being a role reversal between him and Tatum. After all, a guy like him is not going to put up with her shenanigans for too long.

I am still curious to want to know how this story ends. I am hoping that Tatum has some sort of epiphany and begins to trust in Jameson. As mad as I was at Jameson at the end of book 1, it is pretty amazing that I feel like he was the "good guy" by the end of this book. I'll be starting the final book in this trilogy ASAP.

Ok, so two things are true...I completely find Jameson Kane to be one of my Fave alphas, ever and he is single handedly the reason I love this series up to this point.

I 100% admit that I struggled with this book...more like I struggled with my one time fave gal Tatum O'Shea. I want this chick to get her s*** together and soon! Come on! I am getting the best feels ever from a hard man. Satan is trying...actions always speak louder than words and my man is stepping up to the plate. WTH is wrong with Tate? While I once appreciated her crazy and her "I don't care" attitude, this broken woman is hard to relate to. It is almost painful to watch her fighting herself. I'm starting to realize that Mr. Kane must more than like her because I would have tossed her overboard by now!

I digress! I want more of that steamy hot fierce intimacy. I want more of their brutal games. I'm a bit disappointed at the conclusion of this read so I'm diving head first into book 3. After all, I am totally hooked on anything Jameson is doing. Looking forward to how much longer before he breaks! With the fabulous foundation this author laid in book one, I can only hope she delivers my mind's version of HEA!

    3.5-4 stars

I'm making this review short and sweet.

I liked the second book in The Kane Trilogy, but not as much as the first. I love some good ol' fashioned angst, and this satisfied that need.

I'm liking were the story is going and seeing Jameson's other side. He is still an asshole, but seems to be understanding what he is missing in his life. I think these two were made for one another.

Usually I get annoyed by the heroine's inner monologue and how easily they go back to the hero when they've done something wrong. So I commend the strong personality that Tate has in thinking she needs to stay away. She held out longer than most would.

Excited to move on to the next book...dying to see how everything plays out.

    So off I go....

The story starts a couple of months after the end of Degradation. There is a flashback with what happened these 2 months but not too many details. The plot has a couple of surprises and the writing style was still the same. The feeling of constant contradiction is gone and the feeling of doubt is planted. I didn’t like this at all. The constant questioning, wondering, punishing, doubting was a bit too much for me. However I need to admit that the approach of Ms. Fantome is quite realistic. Most of women wouldn't be able to forget and forgive so easily.

Tate has changed after what happened in Degradation. I used to like her a lot but I got a bit annoyed by her. I think she should have taken responsibility of her choices and not to blame everything to someone else. I was also a bit annoyed by the constant negativity of her thoughts. She was jumping to conclusions so fast and without any real reason! After a point, I just wanted to shake her!

Jameson has changed as well. I honestly believe him when he says that there is something more than games between them. Besides he never lied! His methods to win her back aren’t usual but that’s not a problem for someone like him.

Their interactions were painful to me. There were so many issues that should be on the table! Sanders explained the whole situation perfectly in the book. They just had to talk openly to each other. I cannot understand why this was difficult, especially for Tate. On the other hand, their intimate scenes were still intense and with good chemistry!

The end of the book was kind of a cliff-hanger. Again it left me kind of disappointed and hurt. Once again there was no real communication and everything went to hell but this time is on Tate!

  • janeee :D

tate got that dumb bitch syndrome bad

  • Alaina

    Simple Annoyed.

Remember how I mentioned that I thought this series was going to be good? Keyword: was. Yeah, well it definitely started to go downhill, slowly. Tate went from an amazing girl with a sassy backbone, who did have some insecurities, to a girl who whined so much and trusted no one. She was just so frustrating in this book. Again, these two really needed to learn how to communicate with each other. It's kind of ridiculous.

Then there was Jameson, who just wouldn't stop with the "games". Meeting another ex of his was also just eye rolling man. I get that he's the swoon-worthy devil man, but damn - WE KNOW YOU GUYS LIKE EACH OTHER. I just wanted them to fucking admit it.

Other than those two, there was Sanders, aka SANDY. I fucking loved his character and I would marry him in a heartbeat. Really wish I got a book that was all about him.

Overall, it was an annoying book to read. I wish it wasn't and I doubt the next one will be less annoying.

  • Elle ✟ Søren's ♡ (i'm too old for this shite)

3.5* unfinished business with Satan STARS!!

While he had been so busy trying to warn her away, he hadn't even noticed himself falling into her. Now Jameson couldn't tell where she began and he ended. The thought of Tate dying, it hurt his heart.

After the ending from Degradation, Satan wouldn't leave Tatum alone. I'm shocked and sad with the drama between them also the accident. But I realize that this isn't horror story, so she will live. Tatum hated Jameson but couldn't forget him. He practically own her soul and it's terrifying. I hope Jameson will change after everything happened with Tatum. But it doesn't that simple.

    description

Jameson always get what he wants; including her forgiveness. Who says redemption is easy? For Jameson, getting her back in their game will give him chance. He's arrogantly believe she still wants him. As weak as Tatum's resistance, I'm amazed that she could control her sanity for 50%. They're really in a war. With Sanders' assitance, Jameson managed to get Tatum 'back' into his territory. But she isn't a forgiving woman.

As always, their sexy banter amazed me. Jameson still stick to his own rule and play their games while Tatum isn't really excited anymore. The sexual tension between them are undeniable but they're both determined not to lose it. To be with Jameson takes a lot of courage and sacrifice. Jameson isn't an easy man to be with. Well, he's the Satan after all.
Jameson telling Tate not to do something, or she'd be punished. She does it to get punished. He pulls her hair, she loves it. The way other people kiss cheeks or hug, Jameson and Tate had pain. Pleasure. It was second nature to them, a second language. How easy it was to fall back into old habits.

Being with Jameson is like doing heroin. Highly addictive and highly lethal.
    description

I really enjoyed Degradation (Book #1) but in this story, it was a bit repetition. The conflict between Jameson's ex still on going and I'm sick of it. Jameson should be able to stop her because that bitch really obsessed with him. It makes Tatum feel insecure also her trust issues seems more serious. They're lack of communication and constant distrust really frustrated me. After Tatum's breakdown in the end, she's realize that she lost. Nothing is easy with Satan.
Tate couldn't get enough. She had always been an addict, and he was a drug. She wanted more. More than that, more than he was giving. All that he had to give.
    description

Jameson and Tatum haven't share their feeling, yet. So I believe there will be more conflicts in the future. Sigh. Despite the drama and regular conflicts, it was engaging until the end. I couldn't stop and I'm such a masochist. I know both Jameson and Tatum hurt but they're still continue to act like it. However, Sanders really did amazing job aside his robotic appearance. He cares for both of them and started to change a bit; with more feelings and emotions. Let's finger crossed for the ending, huh.
“... I hurt you, and I'm still finding it difficult to forgive myself. If you had died, Tate …, there are no words. I would have been very sad. And not just because I had done something bad, I want you to know. I would have been sad because my world is a very lonely place without you.”
    description
“Jameson. This isn't a game. This is my life. I don't want you playing with it.”
“Baby girl, sometimes I wonder if it was ever a game.”
Oh, Satan. You get me every time.

    WHOO-HOO!!! AMAZEBALLS COVER!

    Wow…I’m in awe.
This book is everything that I’ve expected and more!
Stylo you have done an amazing job. Bravo!

    description

So…I don’t like to write reviews that are long and boring so I’ll keep it simple! I have to say that I’ve read this book in one day. I was so hooked up that I couldn’t put it down.
Separation picks right back up where we left off in Degradation but brings us to a much more emotional part of the story.
I loved that we get a deeper look in their souls especially Jameson’s. He seems to be capable of being tender and sweet but still controlling and dominating.

"I hurt you, and I'm still finding it difficult to forgive myself. If you had died, Tate..., there are no words. I would have been very sad. And not just because I had done something bad, I want you to know. I would have been sad because my world is a very lonely place without you."

Sanders! *Holy sex on a stick, Batman!*

The friendship between Tatum and Sanders it’s very special. I absolutely love the way they talk and interact with each other. He feels comfortable around her and starts to open up more.

"Their bond grew stronger. She never rushed him to talk, just waited for the words to come out. She never asked questions, never judged anything he had to say. He fell a little in love with her. Not romantically, not sexually. He didn’t know how to explain it. He just loved her."

I loved every single part of this book because it’s unpredictable and you never know what’s going to happened next; it gives you an adrenaline rush.

”Houston, we’re so far beyond having a problem that we’re just completely fucked.”

    The ENDING !!!

Only 3 stars - I could not take to the characters very much, especially the female MC. Not very smart, immature, lack of sophistication. Really the tantrums were a turn off for me. Meh.

Separation starts off right where Degradation ended. See my review of
Degradation. I couldn't wait for the cover reveal. Was toooo excited.

"I am different, not less." Temple Grandin.

This quote is the perfect description of Tate and Jameson. Such strong and flamboyant characters, the epitome of headstrong and fierce. All taking us into a tailspin of emotions with such realism, it is difficult not to be drawn into their world of games- lies, deceit and psychological sabotage. Kane and Tatum, both, are so much more than what I read in Degradation and even more spectacular in Separation. Their desire for each other goes even beyond the bounds of rough play. The games - physical, mental, metaphorical- the raw emotions that ran through them both. God!! It  all was so amazing, nerve wrecking and intense!!

But suddenly he felt very stupid.

Sitting inside of Tate's hospital room, Jameson realizes that what both he and Tatum had, have, together was so much more. More than just an initial game.

This is not a game. She is so much more than a game. Maybe she always was....

The feeling he got when the police officer told him about Tate was instantaneous. As a heart attack. He was in physical pain. Remorse, guilt, sadness all hit him at once. Such an influx of emotions, towards and for, this slut! whore! for his baby girl.

Tate is livid with anger towards Jameson for this last and final game of hoops he put her through. The devastation, lies, and worse the humiliation. As mush as Jameson attempts to salvage their "relationship", Tate wants absolutely nothing to do with him.

"You and I have unfinished business, baby girl," he told her softly.

Shrieking and arms flailing, Tate becomes hysterical and lashes out at Satan.

"You and I are finished business, Kane," Tate hissed, refusing to meet his eyes.

Oh, how no truer words would ever be spoken.

Tate tired her best to move on, both her and Sanders became closer than ever. It had been months since she saw Jameson. Everyone in her life was pussy footing around Tate.  On her birthday, Sanders surprised her with tickets to Spain. But believe me, she is the one that will truly be surprised.

Turning up in Puerto Banus - nicknamed "The Millionaires Playground", the perfect and most fitting name and analogy for what is to come. Tate is in for the shock of her life.

They both stayed away from each other. Jameson respecting Tate's wishes, but them BAM!!! He's right in front of her. Sanders you sneaky sneaky snake.  Walking towards their soon to be accommodations....

Eight weeks. Four days. Eleven hours.

    She hadn't seen him.

    She stopped walking.
    Seven years.
She yearned for him, his touch, his words... Him. The man took her breath away.

    Stopped breathing.

With all the time that passed and all the drama in between them, it wasn't long enough.

Annoyed and even more furious than before, feeling betrayed by Sanders and tricked into this vacation, Tate doesn't understand why Jameson won't leave her alone. He played his game and she ended having her stomach pumped. He's Satan!

"I say when it's over," he replied.

This is where all the fun starts. Both Jameson and Tate have a lot of back and forth comical banter. It really was funny. The comics added a certain flair that wasn't unexpected when reading about these characters, but just made the story seem so much more.... more real, more sexy... more everything.

Tate didn't want to fall back into old habits. Forgiving too easily. Tate didn't trust Satan, but she didn't know how to trust him. She put up one hell of a fight. But that's exactly what happened, so to speak. Mostly verbal and emotional. Physical, well hell!! her body yearned for him, came alive at the smallest touch, shivering after whispers, goose bumps from fantasizing and wet! from eye fucking him. As much as she wanted to hate and be angry with Kane, Satan wasn't who she hated the most.

Pain was their pleasure. Basic carnal instincts, animalistic and filled with such yearning and desire. It was like a part of them was missing without the other.

"I hurt you, and I'm still finding it difficult to forgive myself. If you had died, Tate..., there are no words. I would have been very sad. And not just because  I had done something bad, I want you to know. I would have been sad because my world is a very lonely place without you."

After another near death experience, Tate realized, as much as she didn't trust Kane, as much as she was angry and hurt, she couldn't live in a world without him. Tate couldn't wake up to a world where there was no Jameson. No Satan. This realization should have turned her around, her feelings, but all it did was help her understand that her desires needed to be met. The only person that could ignite her deepest, darkest desires and turn fantasy and lust into reality and supreme satisfaction was, Satan.

Grabbing, pulling at each others clothes, the long awaiting sensation of ecstasy ran through Tate's body. This time, having sex was different. It was gentle, he was gentle. They made love. How can someone who bears such a striking resemblance to Satan, be so loveable!?

With this new found ground between them, Tate gets to know Jameson a little better. They talk about their lives and their childhood.

As with all good things; no it doesn't come to those who wait. At least, not yet. Tate and Jameson's world can never have the calm that is the quiet between words. Chaos erupts again and this time, Tate is out for REVENGE.

Now let's see if the student, can surpass the teacher, eh Satan!. Will Tate be the ultimate, the devil in disguise??

    Wooohooooo and there's a book #3. Can't wait Stylo!!!

“I think you like this, Tatum. I think you like everyone hearing what a slut you are for me. If I had known that, I would've thrown a party a long time ago, you goddamn whore,” Jameson swore. She rubbed her lips together and finally looked at him, her gaze heavy.
“I do, I love it,” she panted before leaning forward to kiss him. He pulled harder on her hair, breaking the kiss.
“Of course you fucking do. You love everything I do to you,”

Jameson , you sexy dirty mothercreeper .. When you gonna stop ruining panties , huh ??!!

After the DISASTROUS ending in Degradation , I was dying to see where Stylo was taking this story of the most weirdest couple ever ! I have to say , my heart broke . But I wasn't angry . Not on Jamseon for bringing that bitch piece of a shit Pet to his house and not on Tate for her debacle with Dunn . But I was weeping , well not exactly weeping , but I did tear up a bit at that and I was like , ' Fuck ! How is this gonna be fixed now ?! ' ... And I have to say I kind of liked what I got in terms of the story writing on Stylo's part ... I loved that Jameson was still Jameson , but still we got to say a different side of him .

And Sanders !!!! Can we just .. like , for a minute talk about how good that man is ! Sanders has been a constant in Jameson's life and I was glad that we got a little snippet of his life pre - Jameson . And how Jameson groomed him to be the man he is today . His loyalty to both Tate and Jameson astounds me . He truly is the voice of reason in their relationship . Tate and Jameson are both hot-headed , both chalking up everything in life to sex . So it was very important for them to have someone who gave them both the kicks they deserved to get their head straight . He need his own story , his own happy ending !!!

    Pwease ...

I'm such a drama whore!!! Therefore I love this series!!!

    Book 2
    Jameson and Tate's saga continues!!

I skimmed a few reviews before I started this series and this seemed to be the least fav of the three books. However I'm gonna have to disagree on that because I loved this one!! To me this book is where their relationship grew and became MORE! You could definitely see small changes in Jameson which made me love it!

This book may have been my favorite of the trilogy!! I say "may have" because it's hard to pick between the three!!! Dammit I love them all!!!

Bottom line is I CANT GET ENOUGH OF THESE CHARACTERS!!

Even the secondary characters are awesome!!

I'm gonna shut up now but I'm in LURVE with this series!!!

  • Nikki ღ Navareus

This sequel was a huge let down for me. I LOVED Degradation so much. It was my favorite book this year. I was looking forward to the sequel so much, but it just didn't do it for me. Tatum acted too much like a whiny asshole throughout the entire story. Jameson kissed her ass too much to get her back, and she just kept treating him like shit throughout the book. I was to the point that when he threw her into the water, I thought he should have just driven the boathouse off and left her there to go off to find someone who actually wanted to be with him. The ending was pathetic and irritating at best. Not sure I'm even going to bother with the next one.

  • Douilleny

Her best friend is dead wrong and Tatum need to be alone for while and figure shit out.
