    A Beginning.

I am so sorry. . .but I do not consider this a book, not even a story. It is no more than an intrduction, a great first chapter to what promises to be a great story, a great real book. But if this is a sample, I expect I will have to buy, not just book 2, but book 3, and who knows how many others to get the story. At least there could have been the courtesy of a notation informing me how many more "books" I would have to buy to get the whole book.

    Chapters spread across novellas

The first in this "series". A bit "wordy" which at times interfere with the characters. The basic plot is sound.

    Something to pull you in

This quick book will pull you into t byhe in story of two young Amish folks trying to figure out life. You will surely want to read the next book to find out what happens next.

    Why split the story there?

I was enjoying the story. The story line was just starting to develop and the book ended. Seems like a bait and switch to get you to buy more books just to finish one story. While other books may have a series, generally each book within the series has at least one story line completed. Each book could stand on its own. But not this one! A couple story lines barely started; none finished. Don't waste your time on this one.

Again I will state that I really dislike cliffhangers. This is why I gave it a three star.
If you at going to write a book write it don't just half write it.
Do a trilogy, or continue a series of books on people in the story.
That being said I enjoyed the 1.1 bit of the story.

    Nice read

It is an easy story to read but cuts off quickly. As this is very short, you're pretty much getting character background.

    Loved it

This is a quick and fast read. It gives those that are interested a little insight on the Amish life and the way that they live.

    Lacking in substance

There book doesn't have the good stuff. It is too short and there is no serious plot development. You would HAVE to read the entire series to have a storyline.

  • Claudette Guay

The book was really a fast reading and short book. Did not to the story enough. Hope second one is better.

    My Musings

This is supposed to be a teaser that should book you, but it didn't do that for me. I will not be continuing with the series. Happy ☺reading 📚!

    Plot was minimal.

5-7 minute read. Maybe 10 minutes max. And again, the first part was free.....then you pay for the rest. I kind of feel cheated because if I had known, I would not have read this one. Meh, it was only a few minutes but still. I had committed to it and then it just ended. Seemed like it might end up being a good story but now I may never know.

What greater or more thoughtful and lasting gift can be given than a library card? One piece of laminated cardboard that has the ability to open thousands of worlds and reveal millions of secrets is, in my opinion the greatest gift one can give in this modern and materialized world in which we now live. This statement counts just as well for the Pennsylvania Amish communities that dot the beautifully cultivated countryside, with their impressive white houses and distinctive red barns. A true postcard of rural living at its purest, but everything isn’t what it seems. The towering red barn is rotten from within and tottering on the point of collapse; so too is the peaceful and harmonious family relationships in the township of Faith’s Landing. Katie Lapp and Zach Yoder are courting. This should be a fun and carefree period before they take the leap and tie the bands of matrimony. Unfortunately Zach is torn between two worlds. In the one world he has the love and support of his family plus his love for Katie. In the other world, the mystery and possible opportunities are boundless. He has a hunger for knowledge that seemingly can’t be sedated. Katie faces the biggest dilemma of her young life. Should she do nothing and risk the loss of her one true love or should she offer her body as proof of her love? This is the second book in the serial A Lancaster Amish Story. The major difference between a serial and series is that the latter can easily stand alone and the former relies heavily on information revealed it prior installments. Nevertheless, this work is well worth the time and effort. I recommend that it be read in order but each episode eludes both purity and passion.

This book is a chapter in a much longer book that leaves you with a cliffhanger. It is offered free BUT the rest are sold in short chapters. I guess if you want to spend a whole lot of money for a book, this might be your thing, but it's not mine.

The story premise was good. For an Amish book, it wasn't too Amish. It's a sweet read, but I really hate being left hanging like that.

The author has a most excellent proofreader, that was enjoyable.

A Lancaster Amish Storm 1.1 is a chapter in a much longer book that leaves the reader hanging on a cliff. It is offered free and the rest is sold in short chapters, which makes following the story too much work for the value offered. The writing is fine, the characters established but I don't like to be left hanging.

I chose this book because I enjoy anything that focuses on His, Faith and others' lifestyle such as the Amish, their faith and how they live. This US a good, but shirt read, IMO, too, too, short. It was getting good and then it just ended.... I will be reading sequels.

  • Susan F

    It was just ok.

  • Cindy Anne

    ...

I enjoyed reading this book. I felt connected with Zach and all the questions he had about the life beyond the community.

  • Mary Chandler

    Good reading

Good reading but just not enough story to say it's complete. Maybe more in following reading. Happy reading to all
