Shopping for a Billionaire 3 (Shopping for a Billionaire, #3) Reviews

Our heroine and hero finally get to go on a date. He plans a romantic picnic only to discover she is allergic to bees! The changes this brings to their relationship were hard, especially when we discover why. Excellent story! But why did we shift from black stilettos to pink pumps?
-
Another fav, but this one was more sexy than funny. But, it still had it moments and I enjoyed it a lot!
-
Oh no, the book ended but the story didn't!!! Waaaa, I want the next part now!!!! In audio, not ebook!!!! I really hate waiting!!!!
The story picks up with that second date for Shannon and Declan. Oh course there will be a catastrophe! That is the life they lead! I am uber clumsy and klutzy myself, I can relate. Events get dramatic quickly.
I love the banter between these two, they feel so natural. It makes for a dynamic relationship. Sigh, I want a billionaire to sweep me away in a limo and a helicopter.
The narrative is all from Shannon's POV still, I do not expect that to change. She is fun and flighty, while more responsible than her family. The supporting cast is, as always, hilarious!!! Such a quirky fun bunch.
Oh yeah, things finally get smexy!!! The bedroom door is open, with just enough naughty detail to warm a girl up. It verges on erotic, but feels more mainstream sexy. Sigh, to be swept away like that!!
There are some angles of this book that bother me. Your jerk ex-boyfriend keeps texting you, do not go out with him. Who cares about that jest, you have a sexy billionaire calling on you. The other conflict, that will spill over into the next book, seems contrived. He does know the nature of her job and things that occur. We shall see how that all turns out.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Tanya Eby, who is delightful! She has the perfect tone for the vibe of this book. I love the way she adds energy and sass to the characters. She keeps the story moving right along with her swift pace. Terrific addition of emotions into the voices, especially at key moments. This has been a fabulous blend of story and narration.
This is the place where I am sitting twiddling my thumbs waiting for the last book in the serial. While it has been a delightful read, the sectioned out story is annoying. Having it all in one book would be preferable. I really enjoyed the writing and flow of the storytelling, I will be looking for more of Ms Kent's books, but only if they are all in one or already released.
I do hope this is a series, perhaps giving those billionaire brothers HEA or her BFF and sister finding love. Really fun characters have such potential.
Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own. -
Well, this one has a lot more drama than the previous two, lol.
I still like Shannon, but like the second book, I just don’t get why she is so attracted to Steve. She has a great time with Declan, but still agrees to a new date with Steve? It’s not like she’s going to do something, but come on, Shannon, tell the guy to go to hell and finally move on with your life. Why continue to give him opportunities?
I’m interested in seeing what happens next, if she finally sees herself.
We’ll see what happens next. And by the way, this one ends with a cliffy, so maybe wait until number 4 comes out before reading this, lol. -
I KNOW THIS IS A ROMANCE, BUT: Too much of the couple, not enough of the supporting characters!
And a bit over the top in terms of silly things that happen.
But the real reason for 3 stars is the ending conflict is stupid. -
3.5 stars, but rounded up officially. This book started out pretty good, but it got kind of boring about halfway through. Toward the end however, it picked back up and I was eager to start the final book and find out how everything was going to go.

I need the next book!!! What should I do, I don’t want to spend money but I don’t think I can wait for my hoopla account to renew so I can read the next book. This is so good❤️❤️

Shopping for a Billionaire - Part 2
3.5 Stars
Series note: The 3rd installment in the serial.
Shannon Jacoby's ongoing romance with billionaire Declan McCormack hits a few snags when their first date lands them in the emergency room, and Shannon's job leads to a potentially ruinous conflict.
The story ends on a cliffhanger and I really hope that the drama is resolved quickly in the next one as this is a fun listen that does not need any unnecessary angst. -
She could have really made these first 3 books into 1
-
Read all four novellas in one sitting. There’s a huge fan club on a B & N thread who love this author and find her hilarious. It wasn’t really my cup of tea. The mother was wildly inappropriate with her boundaries and rather than find her endearing, I found her obnoxious. Either in the third or fourth book, when Declan does an aboutface, I was thoroughly confused. As the story went along, the editing got sloppier and the whole caper became very Jerry Lewis slapsticky in a way that didn’t appeal.
-
Straight onto the next one I go! Hilariously funny and, at the same time, heartwarming.
-
These stories are so sweet and short to listen to while waiting at swim practice (in the dark). I caught myself chuckling a couple times. An entertaining listen!
-
This installment had more angsty moments and seemed less funny or at least differently funny than the previous. Ended on a cliffhanger.

3.5 stars
Short, sweet, and laugh out loud funny. A nice fluffy filler read 😊 -
I’m writing a review for all 4 books in this serial, since technically they should be one book. First, I need to say that I hate serials. I usually avoid them like the plague. However, I will sometimes pick one up, but only if all of the books are released. I still don’t understand why publishers are following this new fad. Basically, they are releasing unfinished novels and charging readers for them. And it’s not like it’s a great deal because it’s a partial. They are making way more money selling off partial novels than they would if they sold it as a full novel. It’s annoying. Anyway, rant over.
You may be asking why I bothered with this book after the rant above. Well, the truth is, I read the blurb, not realizing it was a serial and by the time I did realize I couldn’t resist giving it a read. It sounded so cute. Still, I purchased all 4 before I started. Anyway, this book is just as cute as it sounds. It reminded me of Emma Chase’s Tangled and Alice Clayton’s Wallbanger. The crazy family was fantastic. I especially loved Shannon’s mother continuously overshared about her sex life. There were so many laugh-out-loud moments. This was such a great lighthearted read and it was perfect for in between those novels that rip your heart out when you just need to laugh and feel good. I also enjoyed the romance—it was the perfect blend of sweet and sexy.
However, this was not a 5 star read for me and there were 2 reasons:
1. I don’t mind books with a robust heroine, but please if you are going to write that don’t make them insecure. Women, whether skinny or not skinny, have body issues. I don’t want to read about them. I have enough body issues that run through my head that I don’t feel like reading it in my heroine’s narrative. I love a heroine who is secure with who she is, no matter her size.
2. This heroine had a great, full time job. She was independent and strong. Then all of a sudden in the last few pages of the book she is fired and her new billionaire boyfriend swoops in with a new, much higher paying job. This pissed me off. Now you’ve taken the strong, independent woman and made her reliant on her boyfriend. I loved that she fell in love with this man and didn’t need anything from him. She didn’t need to rely on him for her livelihood. I have no idea why the author chose to do this, but it ruined the entire story for me. -
This series is still great, I am loving it. I love the date he had planned, it was sweet and romantic. Then an awful thing happens even though one part of it was funny, he was her hero. We get to know a little more about Declan and his brother Andrew. I got angry with Shannon agreeing to see Steve, I know why she did it but I also knew it wasn't going to go the way she had hoped, he is a jerk and I could not believe what Steve thought was going to happen. Declan ended up saving the day and coming after and surprising her at the restaurant. He is spontaneous, adventurous, and she loves it. The action in the limo is so hot, and what he had planned for the rest of the trip was beautiful. I loved the way he talked to her, made her feel special, and opened up about some of his feelings. Her mother's yoga class and the whole scene when Declan and Shannon come for a class is so funny, oh my gosh. It was nice reading about their holiday and how they included Declan and you could see that something brought back a memory of his mother, we still did not know what happened to her but I have my suspicions. Then something happens with her job that puts her in a terrible position but she does what she is supposed to do and it all backfires on her.

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Julia Kent has got me wrapped up in this series. Every time I sit down to read one of these I find myself laughing out loud at the adventures of the main characters. Shannon and Declan have decided to try the dating route... and what an interesting second date it is. The words epi-pen and bees will forever bring a laugh to my lips.
I find myself falling more and more in love with Declan and his take charge alpha attitude. In this book you get to see a little of his vulnerable side as well. I love Shannon and her job and all it entails cracks me up. Forever to be known as the toilet girl in my eyes. My only complaint is...Steve. Ugh. Just don't understand the original attraction there. Octopus? Really. Oh well to each their own. I'm looking forward to see what kind of mischief happens in the next book.
**cliffhanger** -
I forgot that this one ended on a bit of a cliff hanger. I don't think that Declan gets mad but its still upsetting for Shannon that people can be such dicks.
Also the scene at the beginning with them out in nature is so funny!! Traumatizing but funny! -
Medical emergency, ex-boyfriend Steve, and a little misunderstanding. Let the good time roll, you have to wonder with everything that happens to these two in the few days they have known each other why they are still together. The only thing I can say is safe is way to boring. .... LOL
-
This is pure romantic comedic perfection. It's got the feels, the laughs, and everything just right.

I am loving this series! they are such quick reads I am flying through them and on to purchasing the next in the series. Shannon and Declan finally go on a date and end up in the emergency room. The ex- boyfriend is pushing for a dinner and just straight up harassing all her friends and family. Now here's what I find refreshing about this series, Declan has never been possessive or jealous or insecure in their relationship. In a lot of other books if the boyfriend flys back from overseas and sees you having dinner with an ex there would be immediate drama. Not here and it was surprisingly refreshing. This is all stated in the synopsis so don't worry spoiler free. The book did end on a bit of a cliffhanger which usually would turn me off a series but with these ones know so many have been published and I can immediately go on to the next book has kept me calm.
I really love this chick lit series, would recommend to anyone whose a fun of light hearted, witty, comedic romance stories. -
Review FOR BOOK 3, 4 & 5
5 LAUGHED SO HARD Stars
Shannon and Declan are amazing together, I adore them. I love that Shannon has a crazy family (Reminds me a bit of my own!), her mother is over the top. Again in these books her secondary characters are just as much fun as her main characters .
Book three has some seriously sad parts in it and I found myself having a good little cry. Which is good for the soul.
There is a big secret that's revealed and I didn't see it coming which for me that saying something I always see them coming!
I was all for Declan from the get go, I loved seeing him and Shannon navigate the many hilarious and steamy escapades that came there way.
Julia Kent's Shopping for a Billionaire is so god damn funny, but sweet. Once you read the first book, you wont want to wait to get to the next book! You know you have a great read in your hands when you don't want it to put it down. This is one crazy, fun read that will have you laughing your ass off!

I’m not sure I’m going to make it through this series. Because despite the ending credits where she said the conclusion is in the next book, I also know there are 11 more books after that.
The reason I’m a bit unsure is because this is the first book with an actual conflict, and I think the last 20 minutes of the book was all unnecessary talk and scenes involving her cat. The cat that I’m over hearing about. It was funny at first, now I’m tired of hearing about him.
Back to my annoyance though. The problem that arose at the end, was something that could be easily explained if she just would have called Declan immediately. Instead she worried about it and talked about it and then her mom showed up and it took longer for anything to actually happen. Which of course didn’t happen, it will happen in the next book. I’m going to try and push through because I want to get to the story involving their baby, but I’m starting to wonder if I can take much more of this. I hate misunderstandings that can be easily resolved, but aren’t. -
Shopping for a Billionaire #3 by Julia Kent is a contemporary, romantic comedy serial told in first person, single POV. As part three in a four-part serial, it picks up where the previous part ended, does not contain a full story, and ends with a cliffhanger.
The story was light and fun with some humorous moments. The witty banter and comedic situations made for an entertaining read. I'm not a fan of serials and probably wouldn't have completed the story if I hadn't received the first two parts for free. I purchased parts three and four for $2.99 each. So all together, I got the complete story, books 1-4, 650 pages total, for $5.98.
I was interested enough to read all four parts to find out how it ended but didn't see the need to spread it out over four books. I feel the story would have been better served as a two-part duet. Overall, I'd give the series (books 1-4) three stars. -
This book was more at the intense side than hilarious like the last two books.. So hot & heavy😉 & longer in story words😋
This book starts with the 1st real date of Declan & Shannon.. some heavy make out session, but sadly ends in a medical emergency. Lovely talking in hospital bed is so sweet, though😘
A few days later the doomed date with Steve-her ex- comes but ends with Declan swooping her away😍
Some limo sex (their 1st😄), helicopter ride, the sex-escape in a lighthouse & some phenomenal Confession..
The yoga class with her mom was filled with laughters😂
& The Easter with family...no words for it🎂
But when everything seems great , problem came. Here it comes in the shape of a Lesbian-personating mystery shop gone wrong & a tweet from Jessica coffin that can destroy the foundation of their relationship..
*Snatches the next book to read what happens next* -
This is the third in the series. Books 1-5 need to be read in order as each episode ends in bizarre places in the story. I feel books 2 through 4 should have been one book.
Shannon’s family is a strange one but I’m sure many of us can said that about our own families. I was glad to see Shannon do some introspective looking at herself, her relationships, and how she wants the world to see her.
I was glad to see that she gains more confidence in herself and doesn’t need to be defined by her relationships to men.
This story really had little to do with her job and more of a fantasy interaction with Declan. I had conflicting thoughts on her actions.
This is not for the faint of heart. The romance is a little heated and escalated quickly.
Since the story is a continuation of book 2 and ends abruptly, I cannot rate it above a 3.
