Knitting in the Round: 10 Knit Sock Patterns and Knitted Slipper Patterns Reviews
-
This is one of the best books I have out of the four I chose today.
It's well laid out. Has plenty of demo photos and pictures to help guide anyone starting out to try to learn how to knit socks.
Highly recommended -
One of the few things that still elude me as a master knitter and a crafter (YES!!! STILL!!!) is how to turn a heel on a sock.
I will learn this year as a resolution!!! -
Only for those wanting to use dpn's
This collection of sock patterns makes no mention of circular needles, but gives very specific instructions on the use of double pointed sets. All but one sock pattern is top down, and only one slipper pattern begins at the toe. Both of those start from a provisional cast-on, so grafting will be necessary to finish all of these patterns if made as directed. I would therefore only recommend this collection to a beginning sock knitter who is a sufficiently experienced knitter to understand and accept those limitations. Those with sock knitting experience will have little trouble adapting these patterns to their preferred method if that involves circular needles and/or a Turkish or Judy's Magic Cast-on. -
Awesome instructions!
With it being a free book, I didn't expect much. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the directions. I'm a relatively new knitter, so I appreciate the broken down instructions. -

Love this collection of patterns.
I am a lifelong knitter and have years worth of sock and slipper patterns. However, I love having this collection of some of my favorites all in one book. I have begun to collect patterns in a digital format for convenience so that I have my patterns on my tablet that is always with me. This ebook suits my needs perfectly. -
Not a bad book, but except for a few patterns, I'm already passed most of the patterns skill difficulty.
The Fair Isle Slippers caught my eye for sure though. All the patterns seemed clear and easy to understand, so it looked like a wonderful book for someone wanting to delve into socks and slippers. -
I really want to try making socks but I am not sure I'm ready yet. This book had some cute patterns, The knit Mary slippers and the Darling Lace Socks were my favorites. This book is FREE now on kindle.
