Girls Write Now's Breaking Through is a collection of short stories and poetry written by the mentors and mentees of the organization. The short collection features their strongest work from the year, which centers around the idea of breaking through. Each pair of stories also features a little synopsis about each mentor/mentee and their relationship with one another.
The writers involved with this collection should be very proud; all of these stories were so captivating and in some cases, inspirational. I felt like taking back out the pen and paper for some creative writing, something that I haven't had the chance to do in a long time. I'm grateful for the opportunity to pick this up and I am excited to read more of the organization's anthologies in the years to come.
