Discover the thrillingly romantic New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Caught Up in Love series by Lauren Blakely, the author of Seductive Nights!
A sweet romance so perfect it could have been scripted by Hollywood. But can a first love survive past the first summer?...

I'm not going to say it was love at first sight when I met her. I don't believe in that. Because love isn't about falling for someone's looks. Though she was beautiful in every single way, from her dark, wavy hair to her gorgeous brown eyes, to the soft curves of her body. But that's not why I fell so hard for her that summer. She took my breath away for reasons that had nothing to do with her looks. It was the the movies, the conversations, the walks through the small town, the nights on the beach with the waves rolling in, the way I could hold her hand and feel as if the world had simply melted away and we were all that was left. So, there was no love-at-first-sight. That would come later, and if it happened first it would take away all the reasons that stayed with me for the next five years. Even though you're not supposed to fall for your best friend's little sister. But that didn't stop me...

Caught Up in Her (Caught Up in Love, #0.5) Reviews

Caught Up in Her was an adorable, sweet, sexy and fun novella and the prequel to the Caught up in Love series by Lauren Blakely. I love this author's writing style and I can't wait to read more of this series!

The male POV was an added bonus.

P.S.: This novella is currently FREE on
    Amazon.

Loved Bryans pov. Will definitely be trying to get to all the books I've missed by this author before 2015 is over.

    100% Safe.

This was a fun novella and I really enjoyed it. A quick read with sweet characters that were playful and flirty. Bryan and Kat had nice chemistry and great banter. I loved that it was told from both of their POV's.

I got a good sense of the characters and where they were at in their lives and where they were going. I thought this was a nice precursor of what's to come. I like that there was a five years later update that leads you into the first book, Caught Up In Us. I have not read the first book yet but this prequel makes me really want too. :-)

  • Mary

This book probably would have been fine, if I didn't realize about 5 pages in that it is a precursor to a book I have already read. I know what happens. I don't need "his" perspective. I don't care!

Lovely short prequel about Kat and Bryan.

It is the story of brilliant beginnings and heart-wrenching endings, about finding love and losing it. It is a story about sacrificing what you want for what someone else needs.

Though I don't agree with his choice, I found it really high-handed, to be honest, I do believe that Bryan's intentions were pure: he wanted Kat to have the college experience - to find herself and her direction, without the interference and all-encompassing nature of a budding relationship.

Anyway, good back story to Caught Up In Us.

This short story was pretty good. I liked Kat and Bryan, and really want to know how their story continues. However, I am getting kind of annoyed how every book I read like this the guy breaks up with the girl because its what he thinks is best for her. Shouldnt she pick whats best for her?

For being a short story, I really struggled reading even 2 chapters in this and couldn’t get into the story, thankfully it was a freebie.

  • Angie

Caught Up in Her was a cute prequel! I did read it second, but I don’t think it really matters if you read it first or not. Either way, you’ll already know about Kat and Bryan’s Summer romance and why he broke up with her. I am glad that I read it after the first book though, since it allowed for more tension while I waited to learn why Bryan broke her heart five years ago; this just filled in some of the details. But there’s a twist at the end! Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I think it’s suggesting what I think it’s suggesting! Oh, Bryan! You sly, sneaky man!

A short while ago I read Caught Up In Him, a short novella in Kat's point of view at age 17, having a Summer romance with her brother's best friend. He broke her heart.
This novella tells his story, and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading the full length Caught Up with us, which I'm sure will be an enemies (on her part) to lovers book as he tries to win her back.

  • Lisa

    it was ok

The flash back and forth dragged in a little, but became more interesting towards the end. Bryan's sudden decision through me a little, but then when it flashes forwards five years things start to get interesting

cute fun way to start a series. i will finish the series eventually.

  • Melissa

It's a cute quick story. I'll definitely read the next book. The writing style is simple and easy to follow. Good book when you keep getting interruptions.

  • Tina

I will definitely continue with the series!

Most of the time I don't read New Adult books also known as books that feature young (usually college-aged) kids.

In this prequel novella to Lauren Blakely's series featured two college aged characters who 'fall in love' over the course of a week of working together and going to the movies.

While this sort of thing happens in real life (college kids dating, hanging out, seeing movies) I just can't get used to the idea that a) they 'fell in love' within the course of a week somewhere during working together and watching movies and b) I just can't used to the idea that young characters 'fall in love'.

At that age is when people are discovering themselves...what do they know about the forever kind of love. A little judgemental but I just don't like reading NA type of romances for this reason.

For this reason I gave it 4 stars for the decent writing but I docked it a star because I really didn't connect with the characters nor did I sympathize with them.

    4 stars

This novella gives us a whirlwind romance between Bryan and Kat. They fall hard and fast but then hearts are broken and they are forced to move on. Only, sometimes though it’s easier said than done.

They haven’t seen each other for five years and Brian has been pining over her since he made the terrible mistake that tore them apart and he is ready to get her back.

It’s a sweet, flirty, fun novella that is the perfect set up for Bryan and Kat’s second chance romance, Caught Up in Us

  • Lara

Bryan's POV (mostly) about falling in love with Kat that summer. Still meh. Yes, he had his reason (shitty as it was), but aside from the brief talk with his sister about him "pining" I didn't feel that he'd really missed her. Kat recalls an article in Book #1 that says he'd broken up with the woman he'd been seeing for a year. Nothing to hint that he couldn't commit to the new woman, nothing to say he'd never found the connection with anyone else that he had with Kat. Just a lot of ... nothing.

Short and sweet - this was my first YA-book by this author and even if it's different from her hot/erotica romances I loved it very much. I needed a book with Up in title and this one was short so I squeezed it in-between and now I'm looking forward to the first novel in series (which fits for another challenge this month) and I'm so curious how the story between those develops.

It was nice to get Bryan's POV on their first meeting. However, I had hoped his motives for breaking up with Kat would be explained a little more.
Definitely recommend you read this after the first book because it ruins the tension since you know why they split.

  • Primero

It was a story of them from five years ago when they first met. It was mainly in Bryan’s POV so we got to read what was on his mind when he broke up with Kat. And yep it was still stupid the second time around. It was like a prequel novella before the whole story start.

  • MountainKat

Short and sweet - now I want to read/listen to
    Caught Up in Us again!

  • Marcela

This felt like a romantic comedy, with cute characters and a nice plot. Who doesn’t love the baby sister falling in love with the brothers best friend? It’s a really nice short story to set the mood for the book.

  • Cynthia

    Great Beginning

This is a way to go when you are starting a series, except their relationship was so short but he didn't want her to wait, she was just starting college, he was just starting his career, but maybe he should have given her a choice.

  • Mary Kate

    Short and choppy

You want to like the characters but are not given the chance. You hardly meet the when the story is over. Disappointing. I am usually a fan of her writing.
