Unusual events begin to occur. Frightening calls from a phone-breather escalate to gifts left on her porch. And her enigmatic neighbor, Judah, has caught her eye. Secretive and possibly dangerous, his sensual dark eyes and mysterious past both intrigue and disturb her.
Adding to the troubling state of affairs, she reluctantly agrees to play private detective for a few hours and follow a friend’s husband on a suspicious, last-minute camping trip. But the simple favor quickly accelerates into a deadly game of cat and mouse when he ditches the campground and heads for the airport. Stunned but determined, she makes a reckless decision: purchase tickets and follow him.
One part mystery, one part romance, with a generous dollop of humor, this story is a fast-paced adventure, but also includes a pinch of introspection and a dash of paranormal.
The 7th Tarot Card (A Four Sisters Mystery, #1) Reviews

Absolutely fabulous! Funny and quirky Vic's thoughts sound so realistic - like she could just step off the pages and you could talk to her like she was an old friend. This story hooked me from the very first and parts of it - well, LMAO. If you are a fan of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, I think you will like this too. I'm just disappointed that I'm going to have to wait on the rest of the series!

Victoria "Vic" Morgan and her colorful friends, a swoon worthy, mysterious neighbor and other great characters had me laughing and turning the page to find out what was going to happen next! I enjoyed Ms. Clay's writing style, pace and sense of humor as well as the seriousness of the several times that "Vic" was harm's way. I'm very much looking forward to Ms. Clay's next novel!

A one woman's week of ups and downs
Terrific read. Some laughs, some tension, some mystery all mixed in one fast paced package. The main characters are vivid and you get to feel that they become friends as you get through the book. The plot is a mix of two mysteries that are interwoven into the life of the main female character. The plot (s) are well thought out and so well crafted that they flow seamlessly into each other. Well worth reading. -
Not the usual
This is a bit convoluted. Vic has very strange and bad days. Sudden fits and starts. Her love life do a and she gets in weird troubles. Judah is a secretive man who rescues her time and again from her mishaps. It's a love story but a different kind. -
Vic finds love!
Read book number two first, it was free on Amazon and it was so very entertaining I got book number one also. Great storyline and characters, you will enjoy reading this Author. -
This book was a fun read, fast paced, and hard to put down. Hopefully the next one will touch a little on the main character’s background. That was the only thing I felt was missing in this book.

Victoria, A.K.A. “Vic,” is a 40-ish seeker in search of self-improvement, the meaning of life, and the perfect man. Good luck!
She wants to live life, not lie down and die, and there’s nothing wrong with that. She’s always trying to meet “the one” through online dating, and, unfortunately, they haven’t all gone too well. Vic is a witty and quirky character that you’ll relate to.
Sometimes what gets her through the day is her three wonderful friends, one of which is Laini, the tarot reader.
Mystery: she gets these random breather calls in all hours of the day. Who could it be?
Playing Detective: Vic will spy on Laini’s husband to see if he’s cheating on her. You would think if she’s a tarot reader that she’d be able to figure that part out for herself.
At first, the story seemed trivial and banal, but it was actually a little enticing. Although I didn’t quite get how they ended up in this kidnapping mobster heist in Vegas.
About half way through the book, it’s concluded that Vic has a stalker, and Judah, her hot, mysterious neighbor, is somehow assigned to protect her. But could he protect her from the stalker or is he the stalker?
The stalker part was certainly interesting, but I felt that story was rather unfocused. I mean, did we really need that whole scene in Vegas? I didn’t think it was pertinent. Then after you reach the midpoint, it all revolves around Vic’s stalker, which was compelling; however, the author didn’t elaborate on it. Personally, I would’ve liked a little more background info on it. Plus, there were paragraphs that tended to go and on tediously, not really contributing to the plot. The ending also wasn’t too spectacular.
This book is called The 7th Tarot Card and Laini was the tarot reader, but she hardly made any appearances or readings for that matter. Story had a nice premise, but the whole thing was just scattered and unfocused. -
Enjoyable read
This book held my attention from the get go. The characters to me, were well written and likable. The reason reason I gave it four stars, is because of a few grammatical errors. Not so many as to be distracting, but enough to cause me to kind of shake my head. With that being said, all around, I would recommend this book. Very entertaining and I read it in one sitting. -
The first few chapters felt like this was written with an excessive amount of description of almost everything. Once into the book, it became more appropriate. Enjoyed the ride and read. FYI 300 thread count sheets are not decadent for a 5 star hotel. More like 1000 or 1200!!!! :)

I loved this book. Funny.
Made me laugh out loud with all the witty come backs and situations. I could picture most of the scenes in my mind, like I was there with them. Wanted more of Judah but in all very well written. I will read more books from Valerie Clay -
