There’s a new game at LA’s most exclusive BDSM club, and everyone has to play.

Mae never imagined she’d be assigned to the most dangerous letter of alphabet… or paired with the most sinister Dominant in the club. The BDSM Checklist game doesn’t scare Xavier, but he prefers leather and steel, and the submissive he's partnered with thinks silk ribbon is bondage equipment.

Pushed to her limits both physically and emotionally, Mae is shock to discover how much she enjoys Xavier's touch. But in the end it isn't just Mae who will be affected by the unexpected chemistry between two seeming opposites. Xavier will have to decide if he's willing to trust the lovely sub with the truth about himself, as he proves to her that there’s a darkness in her—a darkness that just might match his own.

The letter B turned out to be so much more than i expected, and i loved it!
Boundaries are pushed on both sides, and even though it’s short and there is no real hea....yet,the end is honest, and that’s what this story deserves.

Xavier is shocked to find who he’s been paired with.
This sub is so much on the other side of BDSM,it’s not funny!
But no matter how much he tries to talk the organisers of the game out of it,she is still his to play with.
His only hope is to persuade the sub to safeword.....

Mae has been floating through light play since the moment she joined the club.
Finding out who she’s been paired with,is shocking.
But there must be a good reason for it....right?
And hearing Master Xavier tell her to safeword,is not something she’s ready to do.

They are both in for a couple of surprises once they start playing the game, and even though they may be uncomfortable, they do wake them both up to who and what they are.
They both have hidden depths that slowly come to light, and make them wonder.....can they?

This story was beautifully done, showing the inner thoughts and feelings of both within a scene.
And,yes, the ending may not be to everyone’s liking, but it’s an ending with a promise of more.
    With these two,that’s enough.

Perhaps not quite as good as
A is for... (which is still FREE btw) but still a very worthwhile sequel.

  • Audrey Carlan

The author's writing...incredible. The characters really interesting and held my attention from start to finish. What was most appealing was the authors ability to explain the inner dialogue. She really has a knack for expressing fear, excitement, and everything in between.

I personally enjoyed A is For... more than this one only because I liked the ending better. I personally felt the ending just fell off in B is For.... Yes, the reader can imagine whatever they want, but I'd prefer to know for sure that a HEA took place. With these characters conflicting emotions I couldn't be certain. That's the only that kept this from being a five star read for me.

I will definitely read C is For... if the other continues through the alphabet.

This is the second in what I assume will be twenty-six entries in a series set in Las Palmas Oscuras, one of those fantasy BDSM clubs popular in this genre. (I say "assume" because I'm not entirely sure what kinks begin with "Z," but we'll see.) The series' central conceit offers us a dom and sub who participate in kink scenes that begin with the letter they've been assigned ("A," for example, includes "Anal Play"). From what I can tell, each is a stand-alone featuring a single couple (some long-standing, others not) that is long on erotica and short on story. In fact, I would call these "novellas," rather than "novels" since much of the total page space is taken up with ads for Ms. DuBois' other books.

Unlike the first book, which featured an established couple, Mae and Xavier have never played together until the two are paired for their "B" scenes. On the surface, they appear like complete opposites: she's into funishments; he's into hard-core pain. Knowing this, Xavier tries to discourage Mae from playing with him, but he soon learns that she's made of stronger stuff than he anticipated...

    As with
A is for..., I had mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, the kinks are varied and inventive. In addition, Mae and Xavier are much more interesting than Anna and Jensen were -- if for no other reasons than that their very different personalities and the fact that not all scenes go well offer tension and conflict that the other entry did not. While this series is very centered on erotic acts rather than plot- and character-development, the MC do experience some growth here, which made this more engaging for this reader.

On the other hand, both Mae and Anna evince an alarming lack of self-preservation. And I really don't want to read twenty-six entries that depict BDSM as an endurance contest between doms eager to prove who can cause their subs the most pain and subs eager to prove they can take anything.

3 1/2 stars. I would have rated this more highly since there's no gender essentialism, but I didn't appreciate Xavier's cavalier attitude towards safewords. And I really didn't appreciate that the author just glides over the fact that Mae was groomed by doms when she still underage. There's nothing negligible about this and the author shouldn't have depicted it thus.

    B is for...

Another exciting installment from L. Dubois. I am enjoying this series because it's not all about the sex and domination but the connection that develops and grows between the characters.

I enjoyed this story even more than the first. We meet a new Las Palmas pairing. The private BDSM club has assigned members letters of the alphabet. Each pairing must explore all items on the BDSM checklist, under that particular letter, that both have marked with interest. Mae and Xavier are total opposites - sweet, soft, and bratty versus hard, demanding, and unyielding. Both are taken aback by the pairing. Xavier tests Mae's limits with the harder side of BDSM, and, in the process, uncovers surprising truths about both of them.

Mae's softness is the perfect complement to Xavier's harsh nature. Right from the beginning, we know that there's some sort of internal war that he's fighting. BDSM is his solace. His way to quiet the demons in his head. Also, I love that he wears such a full mask at all times. It only makes him more mysterious. I'm also a huge fan of strong, independent heroines. Mae's submissive nature never diminished her as a person. I like that a lot. I was rooting for these two all the way and really hope to see them again. Their chemistry is off-the-charts hot, and their banter reinforced the connection between them. The ending was abrupt in that I was wanting more pages, but it fit them quite well. I think I cursed out loud when I finished the last sentence.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

When I received this book, I got so excited! As you will see in my review of the first book in this series, my inner sub was very excited over the that book. Ever since, my brain racked itself thinking of what BDSM terms start with B. Beatings, Bondage and Branding...oh my...... Yes my inner sub loved the subject matter. The story of Mae and Xavier is a thing of beauty on top of it. Scared of her masochist side, Mae is known as a little girl sub, but the owners of the dungeon must have seen more. Xavier was severely hurt in the past both on the inside and out, and those owners know exactly what his Sadist side needed, and brought X and Mae together to burn up my Kindle. Again, the events, especially the branding scene, played out in my head like I was really there. That is the type of book that can get my motor running big time! I would like to see the books from here on out a little longer but that is my preference and has nothing to do with the quality or total droolworthiness (yes I made up the word, get over it!) I give this book on droolworthiness to my inner sub alone 5 Hearts.

Now C is for ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh this is going to be fun!

I won a copy from the author and I'm so darn lucky I did. I read this in one sitting, unwilling to put it down. This one is more intense that "A is for ..." There are things that may make a reader feel uncomfortable or want to hide her tender bits but it was enthralling to read and watch as Master Xavier tries to push her away thinking she's too lightweight for him, then changes to discover there is much more to Mae's submission. Even with all of that going on Lila has more surprises at the end. When I got to the last page I wanted MORE, MORE, MORE!

  • Tamara

Love the Characters that Lila creates...they may start out as tough to root for but pretty soon there is nothing stopping you from rooting for Xavier and Mae and realize they are just what the each need even when that isn't what appearance say.

Once again Lila has a surprise gotcha at the end...just like in "A is for..." Different surprise but just as good. Now we all have to wait for C...saw the cover in the RT pictures so hopefully Lila and FarmBoy Press will be able to get it into our "hands" quickly. I can't wait for the next surprise!

  • Vivian

This was as good as the first one. The only thing I didn't like was there was no mention of Mae having any thing to eat or drink to get her strength back from those rough scenes. Also, I wanted more story, the story was to short. I really liked this one.

I highly recommend this series. Honest opinion.

    B is for...
This story is unique and a little on the dark side. Add in some raw, edgy and deliciously sexy! A great story about an imperfect love that despite all the obstacles, it could lead to the most amazing things. Can't wait for the next book.

I am really enjoying this series of novellas.. I was looking for something different, something light and easy to read, but still kinky and hot. I am just curious as to exactly how long I will have to wait for the other 24 letters..... I am not a patient person!!!!

  • Spynonu

Sugar sweet fun with a tiny bit of angst thrown in for good measure. Loved it.

Book Review: Checklist ABC... A Billionaire Club Box Set
    Author: L DuBois
    FIVE STARS
If this book doesn't make you hot then I don't know what will. The D/s scene is something that is really an area that I am not familiar with but I love reading it. The trust it requires to be able to give yourself over completely to your D.
The whole purpose to this series is this. Las Palmas Oscuras or The Dark Palms is an exclusive and secretive BDSM Club where only the richest of the rich can afford to be members. Now the head Masters and Mistresses of the resort have decided that things have become to lazy and stupid in complacency.
They want things to get back on edge and push everyone to their limits. So they have this list. If the members to not want to play this game they are free to leave and give up their place in the club. The game is simply this. There is a letter and under each letter are the different things that are listed that start with that letter that is part of the BDSM world. A couple or a D/s will be assigned a letter and they are to do everything on that list that they have said they are willing to participate in.
A is for.... We meet Anna and Master Jensen.
B is for..... We meet Mae and Master Xavier.
C is for ..... We meet Beth and Master James
All equally HOT and Sexual. All so worth the read. I will be picking up the rest of these books.

The checklist game is meant to pull the members of Las Palmas out of a rut. For Mae, that is definitely what she is in. She has found herself in a "niche": She is the bratty, sweet sub. When she is paired with Master Xavier, not only does he challenge her limits, but also her ideas of who she is and what she needs. Even though she knows from the beginning that he is unlike any other she has been with before, and well outside her comfort zone, she can't stop herself from proceeding with the checklist.

Master Xavier is......tragic. You can tell from the beginning, he is hiding a lot. He is a hard man, not easy like Mae is used to. He tries to scare her away, he tries to push her away. But she is determined, even while she is confused about her feelings.

This book is emotional. It is, in a lot of ways, tough to read because their feelings and emotions are so close to the surface, so raw. Even so, it was a fantastic read, and I loved it!

  • Melanie Marnell

Mae and Xavier couldn't be more polar opposites. She's a cutesy, pouty, bratty and adorable sub and he is a dark, controlling, hardcore Dom. Yet they are paired by the overseers of Las Palmas and given the letter B. Try as he might, he cannot convince her to abandon their pairing. What he unleashes in her is her masochism that she's tried forever to deny. He repeatedly let her know there could never be any more than the weekend between them. But somehow she manages to crawl into his soul. When he finally reveals himself to her he cannot promise any more than he already has given and walks away. She unexpectedly hears an interview with him on the radio and realizes that she has to go to him and not wait for him to come back.

A little too rough for my taste. Really did not feel any affection or chemistry between the characters. The branding scene really showed how ignorant Mae is. She just accepted what Xavier was doing to her too fast for never having been exposed to it at that level. The ending really was not an ending since we do not know what is going to happen between those 2.

B is for beautiful. Bondage and brands are defiantly in and bring on book 3

This series not only captures the essence of BDSM, but also the essence of what it is to be true to yourself and understand your own personal kinks. If you haven't read the rest of this wonderful series you really, really need too.

  • Samm Lynn

Love this series! I have read this book several times. The chemistry between Xavier and Mae is unbelievable. You can really comprehend the way these characters feel for each other and their pain. Love the ending and just wish we could get an update on how the characters are doing or a epilogue set in the future to show what happened.

It's a three day scene amd though it was beautiful, i'd like to know more about the characters and their relationship. This is the second book from the series i tried and don't think I'll continue ...

Xavier and Mae are total opposites and wind up partnered for the checklist game. They get B, bondage, beating and branding. This one will keep you guessing and warm! Can’t wait to see what C brings!
