This is the first episode in Lizzy's story. It is also the first book I've read by Blair Babylon, but it will not be the last. Blair is quite a storyteller and she had me hooked on Lizzy's story from the very beginning.

Lizzy has a secret, one that is not fully revealed in this first episode, but we get glimpses of it. I'll not ruin your enjoyment of the book by spoiling it here, but suffice it to say that Lizzy believes it left her broken and unable to enjoy an orgasm again.

She works at the Devilhouse, a high end mens club catering to their every desire. It is run by a powerful, secretive man known only as "The Dom". Lizzy is good at her job, even though she never truly enjoys herself, but she still knows how to satisfy the man she is with. But everything changes when she goes on a "date" with The Dom. He opens her mind to her true potential when he does the impossible, making Lizzy orgasm, not by normal physical stimulation, but by using pain.

After that experience, Lizzy believes she must have pain in order to gain any sexual satisfaction. She meets a nice "regular" guy, Theo, who she is attracted to, but can she really be satisfied by a "normal" guy? She is looking for something stronger, and that strength appears in the form of another dominant, former professional athlete Mannix.

Will Lizzy finally discover her true potential by submitting to Mannix, or will she learn to appreciate Theo, a nice man who seems to really care about her? Not all the answers are in this first episode, but it certainly does setup the series very nicely.

Now I'm off to read Episode 2, Playing Rough.

The start of the book was all over the place and even though this is book 1, i have just learned that there is another story that should have been read first. Under developed characters did not help this story flow at all.

The Devilhouse Books continue from Lizzy's POV

First, let me say that I was slightly confused by the name change from The Devilhouse Books to Billionaires in Disguise when I got the email, but I am happy that they continue to call the club The Devilhouse. I had been anxiously awaiting the new series for a couple of weeks. I found the first book in the Devilhouse Books: Rae on one of the many pages that I "like" and decided to download it, since it was free and I had not heard of Blair before. I read the book within a few hours of purchasing it and absolutely loved it. I loved it so much that I went back and purchased the whole series (1-9) and read those as well. Blair's writing is exceptional and so easy to follow.

We had been advised on Blair's FB page that Lizzy's story would give us more of Wulf and Rae, which I was really happy about. There were so many things that I still wanted to know about them and the other characters that we first saw in Rae's story. Knowing that Lizzy and Georgie were being flown over to Paris for Rae's wedding was enough to soothe my angst until the new series came out. In Falling Hard: Episode 1 of Billionaires in Disguise: Lizzy, we get to go back to the same time that we originally met Rae and the girls and see everything from Lizzy's POV. I have to say, I thought we would see more of Rae and Wulf than we do (she did tell us that the Wedding would be in the 3rd episode), but it's not enough to upset me, because I love the way Blair is taking us through this. And the *cliffhanger* at the end of this first book will leave you breathless and wanting more. I didn't see the connection until that very last few pages. I can only hope that the next three episodes are as exciting as this one.

I will definitely be purchasing a copy of the book when it comes out, to keep in my library.

A spark that grows into an inferno!

Initially the timeline started out a little confusing for me; I'll just come straight out and say that the introduction flatout threw me off. Add in that this series is connected to character from the previous series, Billionaires in Disguise: Rae, and that the timeline is essentially the same, it took me a little while to adjust from the Lizzy I remembered from the previous series and connect with her character in the setting of having her own story. Once I got over that little hiccup the book really started to take off for me!

I loved getting to know Lizzy better and connecting with her character. There is so much more depth to her than was anticipating; I underestimated her because of my previous experience with her being a supporting character. I always thought of Lizzy as pleasant and caring, but to see her inner struggles, insecurities and emotions coming through was an eye opening experience for me. By a quarter of the way in I was 100% hooked.

Lizzy is a female powerhouse. Emotionally abused, physically damaged, mentally conflicted and sexually unsatisfied; she views herself as broken but at the same time uses her strength and outward beauty to her advantage every day. Her over the top Jersey girl attitude that's packed into such a pint sized body is a winning combination every time.

Her will to survive and stand on her own two feet is admirable and at the same time she has this soft and vulnerable side that I just couldn't help falling in love with.

I found Falling Hard to be an erotic adventure, it IS still the Devilhouse after all! Once again pushing the limits as it delves into the heat of subspace bliss and explores dominant settings that are both terrifying and tantalizing. A fast paced, engaging and emotional rollercoaster; Falling Hard overcame its initial challenges and left me satisfied while at the same time yearning for more. It's what the Devilhouse is known for, after all!

A copy of Falling Hard was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

There is a cliffhanger but this is a great series

We met Lizzy in the Billionaires In Disguise (BID): Rae series but you don’t have to have read that series to read this one. Lizzy is somewhat troubled. She thinks she loves the Dom of the Devilhouse but he’s in love with Rae.

This is a hard book for me to review. I’ve read the entire series and loved it. Since I read them all, one right after the other, it’s a bit difficult to separate one episode from the other.

In this episode Lizzy kind of falls for two VERY different men: Theo and Mannix. Before the end of the series she will have to choose between them.

The BID: Lizzy books are a bit darker than the Rae books but it fits for Lizzy’s character. This series is full of sexy and not so sexy times. It is also full of intrigue and some violence. I did not want to stop reading this series once I started.

Be warned that there is strong language and some possibly disturbing scenes in this book. There is also a cliffhanger, which I usually hate. I love Blair Babylon’s books, though, and since all of the episodes for Lizzy’s story are available now I have no problem recommending this series.

If you read the BID: Rae series, and you want more of her and Wulf, you MUST read BID: Lizzy.

p.s. I do not understand reviewers who criticize this for being only part of a book. The title of the book clearly lets you know that it is Episode 1. I hate it when authors do not disclose that their book has a cliffhanger but this is not the case with this book.

I am choosing not to leave a star rating on this book because I didn't finish it.

I quit reading at the start of chapter two. When I picked the book, I was playing one-click roulette searching for billionaire romances. This story opens up at a frat party. The main girls know this place is rape central, and decide to attend anyway. To no one's surprise, there's a rape.

I have a strong dislike for mean spirited characters, and the actions of these characters are just that. Plus, the choices made by one of them are just downright crude. I went in looking for a romance, not a torture flick, and a torture flick is what the first chapter provides.

Not going to finish this one. The first chapter turned me off way too much. Maybe there's a good story in there, but while tasers to the ass are funny... tasers elsewhere are not, and I have no interest in reading a book that takes behavior to this level.

I flinched at the conclusion of chapter one. Sexual violence (rape) is not okay, but neither is what was done to the rapist... and when I'm sympathizing with the rapist more than the women, there's a problem.

It's me, book... but a taser to the scrotum? No thanks. I'm sure some anti-rapists will get off on it, but all I do is flinch.

This was the first book that I have read by this author. Let me first start out by saying that I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I opened up this book for the first time. I knew that a lot of the book takes place in an erotic club known as The Devilhouse, so I figured that it was going to be all sex and no story, but I am so happy that I was wrong! I certainly don’t mind a few steamy scenes in a book, but I read a book primarily for the story - it has to have a good story. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. This book did have a very good storyline.

It kept my interest throughout and really didn’t get overly sexual until close to the end. Since this was my first experience with this series, I didn’t have a very good knowledge of the characters. I think that the author did a great job in developing interesting characters. The book was well written and it left me wanting to see where the story was going to go.

As part of the Billionaires in Disguise series, we learn more about Lizzy and her past. After her Dom-Date with The Dom she thought she was in love with him. And it was hard to see him much less with someone else. So she follows Rea's advice about telling The Dom she wants to be his sub. When she tells him he is not angry with her, he just doesn't take subs or slaves. He will help her find a Dom if that is what she wants. She meets Theo at at Devilhouse party and she likes him but she also sees Mr Smolder (Mannix) across the room. Which will she choose? And what will she do when she finds out the connection with Theo and Mannix? It was a surprise to me but I can't wait for more. Blair has a way of pulling you into the story and making you want more when you reach the end.

    Intriguing

How do I word my review? This is a good read. Once I started, I got sucked in an couldn't put it down until I finished. That being said, I have mixed feelings about some of the stuff in the book, especially the main character Lizzy.

As someone that is also newly discovering my submissive side, I can identify with some of what she is going thru. However, the way her feelings seem to jump from one guy to the next in such a short period of time doesn't make sense to me. Especially seeing as how all 3 guys are so different from each other. Of course, maybe I can only see the differences since I'm not her, and we as readers get glimpses into the men's thoughts as well.

The ending throws just enough of a curve ball to leave you hanging and wanting to read the next book to find out what happens.

  • Lena Dublin

I liked this story but felt like it took awhile to get to the good stuff. By good stuff I mean the interaction between Lizzy and Mannis and the action between Lizzy and Theo. I guess that was geared toward showing the vast difference between the two men and the decision, if any, she would have to make. It just took so long to get to that point. I think that it could have happened sooner in the book. The heat in this book was worth the wait. I like that Lizzy had realized her greatest strength lie in her ability to being submissive. I would recommend this book but would also suggest to pack your patience; know that it is worth the wait.

  • Karlene Pitters

Very good read so far. It's good to find out about Lizzy's life so far and it's great how the author writes Lizzy story during the same timeline as her previous books,Billionaires in Disguise: Rae all 9 episodes. Great writing and I can't wait for Episodes 2.

  • Yvette Grimes

I've been remiss writing my review. Lizzy's story was different but just as intense as Rae's story. Poor Lizzy, she thought she was broken. Glad she found someone to show her that was far from the truth!

  • Tessa

Interesting, slight dark with an interesting twist.

  • Blagica

quick and easy! I love Lizzy. I wont say much more then that because its a short little quick read and i dont want to give anything away for anyone!

  • Shannon Deatherage

Loved the twist at the end!! Can't wait for the next one!!

Not Too Bad, Could Be Better

Well, I was a little disappointed with this book after reading Rae and Wulf's books. I thought this was going to be more along the erotic romance lines, like Rae's was, but it kind of fell flat. There was only one bdsm scene and then that wasn't intense at all. Lizzy is a multi-layered character, with some series issues. You get some back story into Lizzy, and I think there will be even more in the next episode. There is a twist between Mannix and Theo, not one I was expecting.

Overall, for me the actual story was well written, the three main characters are described well, and in the process of being well developed. There just wasn't enough steaminess. Since I will be getting the next book, I am hoping it will be better and contain more erotic ronance.

  • Jenny Delandro

I finished this book a while ago but I had to gather my thoughts before writing a review.
Some of time Lizzy was a wonderful friend and she fiercely defended her friends... but inside she is broken and her view of the world is twisted.
She meets a charming ‘normal’ guy, Theo, at the Devilhouse and she surprises herself by giving him her details.. they meet a couple of times..
But her need for pain completely lost me for a while.
I only know about about the Dom/sub relationships from novels and what she is involved in with Mannix is torturous and disturbing.
Again we are dealing with a novel..

As with all the books in this series we see the stories of Rae and Georgie interleaved with this one so I know there is drama but not the details.. so I am reading the next Lizzy novel.
This was 3 and a half stars...

    Ends on cliff-hanger.

  • Ashly Parker

If I never hear the phrase "pain is weakness leaving the body" again, I'll die a happy camper. This one was rough to get through & I almost quit more times that I could tell you. But I kept holding out hope it would get better. It didn't...

  • Jen

Didn't feel like a complete book. Abrupt end. Repeats a lot of Rae's story from Lizzy's pov without much change to as what she is thinking (if that makes sense). Still needs proofreading a lot of missing words.

  • Jean

Girl, you don’t need a Dom, you need a therapist.

A bit of a slow start for Blair, but picks up in the last quarter or so and is an intense ride from there. I recommend having the next book at the ready!!

    Falling hard

Pizza works for a Dom in BDSM, she wants the Dom but he's unavailable so when she meets Theo she's unsure because of her past. When she meets fellow Dom Mannix she lets go of her past. What's a girl to do?

  • Kim Stone

New to me author. Contemporary mf romance with bdsm. The story jumps around a lot from past to present.

  • Rina Smith

Gah, I would not have guessed it. Great characters and an interesting story line.
