Brian Hatcher, her brother’s best friend, dropped out of the police academy. Instead of working with Lisa’s brother to bring down organized crime, he became a full-patched member of the Iron Tornadoes, an outlaw motorcycle club, the very one that may have caused her brother’s fall.
Searching for answers to how her David died, Lisa can't ignore the attraction she still feels for Brian.
The chemistry is undeniable but is there anything left of the boy she once loved or has he turned into a stone cold biker?
Stone Cold (Iron Tornadoes MC #1) Reviews

I can't even put into words how utterly stupid Lisa was. She repeatedly let Brian humiliate her in front of his "brothers" without repercussion. Instead she rewards his disrespect with sex.
What is it with Heroines who continually allow themselves to be treated worthless. When does the disrespect stop being a sexy alpha trait and start becoming abuse. Call a spade a spade and stop sugar coating the malevolence in which these women are treated with. -
This book ends in a cliff hanger, which will be continued in book 2. I guess there are differing options as to what a cliff hanger is because some reviews said it was not a cliff hanger. The book is about Lisa and Brain's relationship and the books ends with Lisa leaving to finish law school to return in a year. Their relationship is not resolved, they have not committed to each other and at the end of the book, the question is what's going to happen between them when she returns. If a book ends without a HEA for the main couple and ties all the loose ends together, then that is not a cliffhanger. If the H and h have had sex a couple of times, she's leaving for a year and doesn't have a clue about Brian's exact involvement with the MC or even how he was involved in her brother's death, how can that be a complete stand alone story? The story starts with Lisa returning home from law school due to her brother's death (he was a cop). Her brother and Brian had been inseparable growing up with Lisa being the tag along little sister. They join the military together and then go to the police academy together in hopes of being put on an elite organized crime task force. In the last week of the academy, Brian drops out from the academy and his family. He becomes part of the MC and the story never explains his actual role in the MC. The brother's death is mysterious and suspicious but no one will tell Lisa exactly how her brother died. The book insinuates that Brian knows or even may have been a party to the death. Lisa has always had a crush on Brian and he is the one who took her virginity. They reconnect when she comes home for the funeral, have sex, she asks a lot of questions to which she gets no answers. The end of the book tells of Brian sneaking in to see her on the night before she leave to go back to NY and she will return in one year.
Too many unanswered questions for this to be a complete story. What role does Brian play in the MC and in the brother's death? Will Lisa and Brian finally commit to one another? Do they even love one another? What will happen when she returns?
I would rate this one 3 stars. It's really part 1 of a continuing story. First time read for me by this author. The book does have a pretty good story line with a different plot than I have read in other books. The book is currently .99 and has 124 pages. It really is not long enough to adequately flesh out the characters or to completely understand the plot. If this had been a full story I might have rated it higher. The book is written from the h's POV and I felt like I was in her head the whole time. I like to get varied POV's or at least be somewhere besides inside one character's head the whole time. The sex scenes are vanilla and there is no angst in the book. The main characters are probably mid twenties. -
This was my first read by this author and I have to admit that I was very disappointed. First and foremost this book ends on a damn CLIFFHANGER and anyone who has read my past reviews will know how much I absolutely detest those, especially when the reader isn't warned ahead of time. Sighs....
Then we have Brian and Lisa who have to be two of the most weirdest characters I have ever read about. Lisa is a damn idiot, not to mention pushover if I ever read about one, she's the one. I understand she's known Brian since they were kids, but obviously there's something going on that she isn't privy to, whether he's a cop or is actually a real member of this MC is of no consequence. What really matters is the way he treats her and that's like complete and utter shit, but she still gives in to him at every opportunity! WTF! By the end of it all I wanted to slap the shit out this girl! She's so fucking stupid!
All I can say about Brian is that he's an ass, the two or three times he treated Lisa with a smidgen of kindness doesn't redeem the 20 times he basically treats her like a piece of ass. He's hiding a whole lot of secrets, her brother's death being one of them and I hate that this is being split into multiple books when it could have just been put into one good book. Maybe I would have enjoyed the story and characters better...who knows.
With so many unanswered questions and this basically being an introduction into book two, I couldn't give it no more than 1 star. There just wasn't enough material in it for me to even get a grasp on what was happening or even what happened...everything moved at a very rapid pace.
* Received as an ARC in exchange for an honest review* -
This started off so well, but then it seemed like we were rushed along with certain plot points so we could get to a rather unfulfilling ending. Obviously, there was a lot of history between Brian and Lisa, but it was hard to believe they could pick things up the way they did with the time and current events between them. I'm moving on to the second book, but only to see if I can get more out of this couple's story by reading both.

**JOSIE'S REVIEW**
Stone Cold by Olivia Rigal is the first book I have read by this author, but once I saw the title had an MC in it, I was sold. Stone Cold is a short read about 124 pages. I wish it was a little longer so we got more story and more character development with more intensity. I love when books with these themes are more intense but what we do get is a bit of mystery to this story. There are little clues that are given throughout the story which made it not only enjoyable but also suspenseful.
Lisa Mayfield is returning home after finding out her brother whom she loves dearly was killed. Going home is hard for her. Her mother has never been the same since her husband passed away years ago. Lisa and her brother David were really close. When their mother basically checked out they relied on each other. While Lisa is home, she comes face to face with Brian, her brother’s best friend who also happens to be the love of her life. There is a mystery behind David’s death, one that occurred while he was working undercover to bring down the MC.
Brian is a total mystery to me. We do not get his POV or really much from his character. I found him to be mysterious, cold and entitled, but don’t get me wrong he is a totally alpha, dirty mouth biker. Lisa being home, also changes things for Brian. There is something he is hiding. Brian and Lisa are both suffering from David’s death and being together helps them to cope with his demise.
Lisa is really a beautiful character. I found Lisa’s strength and determination to find out the truth on what happened to her brother was selfless. She’s loyal and regardless of the risk she was determined. Where she was strong in some areas, she was also weak when it came to Brian. He would just show up whenever he wanted and she was ok with it. When she decides to date a very sexy and hot cop, she all but caves after Brian demands it. No will power at all. Yes, there is history and a connection between the two characters but the way he treats her is wrong. Little by little secrets about what transpired before David was killed slowly start to emerge. Brian is staking his claim while keeping the MC and any man away from her all the while keeping his secrets. Who can Lisa trust? Is the task force that David was a part of the real cause of his death? Are Brain and the Iron Tornado MC behind David’s murder? I am interested in seeing where the next book in this series goes. -
Received a copy in exchange for an honest review
“Watching him touching me is overwhelming. My eyes are glued on his hands, and I forget everything. My mouth is open, but I’ve stopped breathing.”
3 stars. This book was okay overall. I had a love hate relationship with Lisa, the main character. The story was good, I think the characters just left me wanting more.
Lisa Mayfield returns home from law school to a dead brother and a former lover she no longer recognizes.
After tragedy strikes Lisa’s family, she’s forced to go home and take care of things. Her mother who can’t function and well she has to plan a funeral for her brother. While there she runs into the boy who stole her heart. Except he’s a different man now, instead of the police officer he was on his way of becoming, he’s patched into the outlaw MC Iron Tornadoes. While she tries to find out why her brother died, she’s falling for the man, she knows she shouldn’t be with. Overall I feel like this story was lacking, and I can’t put my finger on what really. It was a good story, but it was lacking in certain places

Really great story. Safe read
Two friends, that are also neighbors , come back from war and go to the police academy. One drops out two weeks before finals and graduation. The other graduates and joins the police task force. Two years later one is an Iron Tornadoes M C member and the other us dead.
The story has just the right amount of mystery suspense and love to keep you interested.. -
Many unanswered questions and the ending was too fast.
-
I received this story in exchange for an honest review:
Lisa is a nice girl, working her way as a waitress through law school. She isn't doing so well with the school part, when her boss comes to her during a shift to let her know her brother has been killed in the line of duty (he's a police officer). Her boss takes her to her apartment to gather up some things, and get on a plane for home.
When she gets home, her mother is in the hospital for observation because she didn't take the news well at all. Lisa's Uncle and Aunt live next door. Lisa's aunt has a son, Brian, from a previous relationship with a biker.
Brian and Lisa's brother were best friends growing up, all through police academy. For unknown reasons, 2 weeks prior to graduating from the police academy, Brian quit and joined the same biker family as his biological father. Brian also happened to be Lisa's first.....
Now that she is back home to bury her brother, her family gathers around, as well as the police force, but Brian is nowhere to be seen. His family is disappointed. After the funeral, Brian sneaks into Lisa's house and spends the night with her in his arms. She has never been with anyone else, and knows in her heart she loves him.
When in town, Lisa stands up to the biker gang, causing them to want to put her in her place. Brian comes to her defense. He ends up taking her to his biker home, to his room where they spend quality time together again. He is amazed that there haven't been other lovers in her life, but is pleased to have her to himself.
The story is left hanging a bit. I am not aware if there will be a second book or not. If not, this story doesn't end well. I'm left with many questions.....Did Brian have something to do with David's death? Why did Brian leave the police academy 2 weeks before graduation? Why did he join the biker gang? Does he love Lisa?
I enjoyed the story, but felt that it ended abruptly, with my many questions left unanswered. -
After completing , I was not sure what I was going to write in my review.
It took me quite some time to really put my thoughts on paper. When I first read the blurb I thought to myself, this sounds very exciting and as such I could not wait to sink my teeth into this book.
The premise was good, but for some reason I just could not connect with the main characters. The story did not pull me in as I expected it to. I continued reading because there were questions that I needed answers to, but unfortunately it was not to be. Guess I will have to wait for the second book in the series to have these burning questions answered.
Stone Cold tells the story of Lisa, a law student who was forced to forgo her internship due to her having to return home to take care of funeral arrangements for her brother, David, who was killed in the line of duty. She was determined to find out how he died and who was responsible for his death.
In the midst of grieving for her brother, she comes face to face with Brian, her brother’s best friend and her first love. The chemistry between them was quite intense, however Lisa became wary of him when she found out he is a member of the notorious motorcycle gang the Iron Tornadoes,The writer decided to get things more heated by introducing Ernest a police officer who was likewise drawn to Lisa. I can’t wait to see the route this love triangle is going to take.
There is not much I can say without giving away the story so I would recommend that you get yourself a copy. For me this was an ok read, it took me less than two hours to complete, because
1. It was very short
2. I so badly wanted to see the direction the author was taking.
DISCLOSURE: I RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR A HONEST REVIEW. -

(4 stars)
A short (took me a little over an hour to read) fast moving story of what happens when Lisa gets called home after her cop brother gets killed on a job. Lisa also has to deal with the discovery that her first love; her brothers best friend and should have been colleague, left the police academy and has joined the Iron Tornadoes MC; the town's criminal bikers who, she believes, may have had something to do with her brother's death.
No one is talking though, an admirer is sniffing around, her mother is finding love and all Lisa is getting is a headache and serious pull towards Brian "Ice" Hatcher and his manly godliness that brings her, and him apparently, to life.
I enjoyed this, its a very good start to a series, and although a few little bits were kind of "she did this, then he did that" I would definitely read books from this author again. I give Stone Cold 4 stars. -
I received this as an ARC for an honest review. Holy cow is this book good. This book is about Lisa and Brian and what they must fight to get what makes them happiest in life. Lisa comes home after finding out that her brother has been killed in the line of duty. Brian was Lisa's brothers best friend, they had lost touch over the years but when Lisa comes home for this Brian is there for her. He may not be able to be around her all the time but when it is important he is there. This book will be an amazing series it does not end on a cliffhanger. It is not real long but there is a lot of punch in this book. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

3.5 Stars - BEWARE CLIFFHANGER!!! Can't wait for the next book!!! I know it's gonna be sooo good because there is soooo much that can happen to/with Lisa. I'm crossing my fingers for the underdog (Everest) cause I'm still holding a grudge with the way Brian treated Lisa at the drug store lol! I'm sure whatever the author writes in the second book will be great. I'm looking forward to reading it!
-
Thanks Olivia for suggesting this book. I enjoyed it a lot, however Lisa annoyed me as well as Everest.
They suppose to be starting something and he just lets her go off with Brian and didn't even checkup on her.
And she, was with Everest and then just goes and sleeps with Brian...
This is not a good start for the next book. Can't wait to find out what is going to happen between these three people -
Big disappointment. I'm usually sold on most MC books but this was not a series I will finish. The hero was a cocky tool and the heroine was a spineless twit. One would think with Lisa going to law school she'd have a backbone but it totally disappeared when Brian decided to humiliate and disrespect her. Both were total losers in my opinion.
-
Great read! I give it 4.5 stars! I need more! It has everything I like and need in an MC book. Please do not rush the good parts in the next book...give more details. We readers like the hot, steamy scenes!!!
-
Short, strange and has a cliffhanger.
-
I hate headlines.....lol
I went into this book skeptical off of others reviews. I was ok but felt short and rushed at times. I wish Lisa could have been more tougher. I felt like she gave into Brian all the time. Sometimes I was like she's gonna do it because she makes a comment but then it's like nope. Lisa is studying to be a lawyer and she lives in New York. She has one more yr to go. Then she gets a phone call to come home to FL something has happened to her brother David. He had joined the military then joined the Police force. He had died tragically will working on a special assignment. Coming home puts her back on the radar with her old friend and her brothers best friend Brian. He's now in the MC that she feels had something to do with her brothers death. I will give this book 1 more shot with the next book. -
Coming home to deal with the death of her brother, Lisa is faced with the emotions from the past. Her life in NY has kept her away from her family and especially her brother's best friend Brian who she has been in love with for way to many years. The moment Lisa and Brian connect it is like time has stood still. But will his connection to the Iron Tornados MC be too much for Lisa to overcome? Or does it not matter who Brian/Ice belongs to as long as his heart is hers? Filled with emotions, angst and edge of your seat drama this was a great book - I cannot wait to read more in the series as I need to know what is going to happen next.
-
Not awful but not great either.
Lisa comes home because her brother is dead. Brian is her brothers best friend and her childhood sweetheart. However he has become involved in a motorcycle gang. The story doesn't have enough details or explain things enough, plus Brian isn't very nice to Lisa. This doesn't make you feel all good and mushy, and I know that real life isn't tied up in pretty bows, but this didn't even have any grit to it.
I liked it enough that I'd want to read the second one but I'm not rushing out to read it. It's on my to-read list for one day way in the future. -
Love MC books
I write this in a somber mood. I'm in this mood, because the book was an excellent walk into a MC. I am also in this mood because this book grabbed my heart and drained all the emotions possible out of it. But the worst is that as much as I love this book, I can't afford the next one, and I really want to read it. I guess I'll have to ask my husband if there is some way we can afford it, and fit it in to our budget for the month. -
Unexpected Read
This book was not what I was expecting. Since it was book 1 in the Tornadoes MC series I thought I would get more information about their club and the guys in it. This didn't happen, in fact through the heroine we learned more about the police and investigators than we did the guys in the MC.
It wasn't bad, it just isn't a MC book. Maybe that changes further in the series.
