Big Dogs Little Dogs: On The Farm (Wild Acres Farm Series, #4). Reviews

  • Briar's Reviews

Big Dogs Little Dogs: On The Farm by Carolyn Wild is the perfect beginner picture book to help get young kids into reading.

Who doesn't love dogs? And this book taught me all about a new breed of dog I had never heard of: The Komondor. They have curly white/blonde hair and are giant! This book shows many pictures of big and little Komondor dogs, adult and puppies, on the farm going through their daily routine: eating, sleeping, and being on the farm itself! This book uses simple words and repetition to help young readers build up their confidence with their reading skills. Early learners will absolutely love this book with it's colourful images, easy learning tools, and pictures of cute dogs!

I definitely recommend this for readers aged three to seven for learning how to read, but I also think reading to younger readers with a book like this would work too. Two years olds who have dogs in their family or know of dogs will likely be able to smile and point out the dogs to their guardians who are reading.

    Four out of five stars!

I received this book for free from the author, Carolyn Wild, in exchange for an honest review.

    Cute book for dog lovers!

This book is a cute and fun read, especially for little kids who are just starting to read on their own. The simple words and colorful pictures are nice and it's great for teaching basic vocabulary. I think the story is something that would keep kids interested, especially with the dogs which are always a hit! If you have young readers at home, this is definitely a good pick to help them build confidence with words. It's also great for reading aloud to even younger kids, so it's a win-win for family story time!
