2.5 stars. Boy, oh boy, some of these girls. I tell ya. Our lead, Taylor, is treated as a lovely little slam pig by both a possessed rake, Connor, and her boyfriend, of sorts, Kyle. And even by both simultaneously, akin a Chinese finger trap. The way that girl could work a garden tool. Kissing the tongs, working the wooden base, and let's not forget the telepathy going on, either. Very sexy stuff. This was my first rake erotica. Another fun smutty short read with surprisingly good writing. This one is actually rather cute and way less smutty than it could have been 😂 wild, I know.
I also have absolute respect for a 35 pages book that features a prologue AND epilogue AND two MMCs AND dual POV. 👏 -

I didn’t know I needed rake smut in my life, but now I find myself with the urge to buy a physical copy for the shelves.
I had fun with this one! Simple, smutty, and surprisingly sweet. Taylor finds a mysterious new rake in her garage and she can hear its voice in her mind. Decides to help it become human again in an unexpected threesome. Props to Kyle for just going along with whatever she was into at the time. -

Ok this was so good! Connor gets cursed to be a rake after sleeping with his GF's twin sister, oops! Taylor needs to rake up these leaves before the trash guy gets there and Kyle is her friends with manyyy benefits. I mean I haven't blushed at a book in a hot minute and this has me RED. Kyle could spank me with kitchen utensils any day. Some smutty fun and telepathic banter later, Connor is free and the three live happily ever after (jealous). Fun, hot, short read! Definitely a must read!

I really felt like I had read all the smut genres that were out there. But I stumbled across this paranormal gardening romance and couldn’t resist. It’s not the weirdest thing I’ve ever read, but man is it up there. It’s only 31 pages so I didn’t dedicated a ton of my time to it.
This gardening romance novella starts off with Connor’s POV and highlights that something weird has happened to him after his playboy antics catch up with him and some hook up’s sister takes revenge.
Then we switch to Taylor’s POV where she needs to do some yard work but when she goes into the garage she hears weird noises and decides to call in her fuck buddy Kyle to make sure everything is safe. Kyle comes over to “help” her but they end up having a ton of kinky sex and passing out for several hours. The sex involves a spatula and a butt plug. And ya gotta wonder if Taylor ever uses that spatula again or if she gets rid of the sex utensil. Doesn’t seem sanitary to keep it.
Then the POV’s oscillate between Connor figuring out he’s been turned into a rake and Taylor and Kyle’s loud as shit sexathon. We know it’s loud because Connor (as a rake) can hear Taylor reachin’ that peak and gets turned on and wonders if he can come as a rake. How would that work? Gets turned on enough that he eventually shoots out leaves?
Anyway; after hours of sex, Taylor and Kyle finally go outside to make sure the garage is safe. Kyle doesn’t see anything but Connor can communicate telepathically with Taylor and hear all her thoughts. Connor comes on to Taylor while as a rake. Shoot your shot I guess. Not wanting Kyle to think she’s absolutely bonkers, they go to rake leaves - Taylor using Connor in rake form. Apparently that turns him on and Connor convinces Taylor (after she sends Kyle into the house) to kiss him to try and “break the spell.” When that doesn’t work, Taylor decides to try and fuck the rake to see if that will do the trick. Obviously that’s the next step.
As she’s starting to get down and dirty with the rake, Kyle comes back in wondering where Taylor is. Taylor tells him to come and join her fucking a rake or get out. He chooses raking. He canes Taylor with Connor, then sticks it inside her while he takes her ass. I guess if you’re gonna fuck a rake, go all out? The fact that Kyle had no questions and was immediately on board is a little weird.
Fast forward to the next morning. Taylor goes outside to check on Connor and he’s not there. Don’t worry though, she confirms with Kyle that she actually fucked a rake to make sure she’s not crazy.
Connor wakes up back in his room, and comes to the conclusion that it wasn’t the sex that changed him, it’s love that broke the curse. After one afternoon with Taylor as a rake and bang session with her and Kyle in the garage, he’s ready to end his playboy ways and runs out of his house until he finds her.
Skip ahead a year in the epilogue and Taylor, Connor and Kyle are a throuple continuing to get their freak on. Because that seems like the natural progression of things. Good on to them I suppose. Let your freak rake fly.
This is a book I have now read. And then spent 15 minutes writing a review for. Your rake probably isn’t a sentient yard tool. Don’t fuck it. You’ll likely just get splinters in your squish mitten. -
I don’t have any idea how I get into these messes but somehow this found its way to me. I read the blurb and normally, I wouldn’t entertain something that sounded so ridiculous but it was such a short book I thought OK fine - I’ll read it, how bizarre can it be?
It’s bizarre. Long (okay the story is in fact short) story short - a woman who can read a rake’s thoughts has sex with said rake and poof he is magically back to human form the next day.
Honestly, the story is not for me but what made it worse was the actual writing. I didn’t do any research but was this written by a teenager? Sure sounds like it.
This is book one of three I believe and I’m not sure I want to explore the others - I honestly might out of morbid curiosity only because book two is actually how I ended up here - that’s the one that found its way to me and sounds insane, yes more so than this one! -
It’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me because the inner monologue had some real gold and I was laughing 😂

The prologue had me confused ... but then once I realized what was happening, I was beyond invested. Connor wakes up in a garage, cursed by his ex to become a rake. You read that right, a literal rake. But while he is a rake, he is able to telepathically talk to the owner of the garage he is now in ... enough to tell her that he wants to be "with" her. in this kind of fairytale, being with a woman as a rake breaks spells, lucky for Connor!

Ok this book was weird. I saw it on Bookstagram and decided to give it a go. Connor is turned into a rake by a witch and ends up in Taylor’s garage. By enjoying some spicy activities together the spell is broken and Connor is no longer a rake. I felt like this book had more time with the side character Kyle then with Connor/the rake though. This book was all spice and no plot so if that’s what you enjoy then go ahead and read this one.

99.9% of the time when I read a story with romance as an element I’m (hopefully) rooting for the main couple. This is the first time I’m here for the FWB who hangs around even after the main couple finds their HEA. Kyle is here for one thing only -getting off. And when he’s done, he doesn’t fuss about helping out with household chores. He’s literally down for any consensual situation and does not shame our FMC for her seemingly outlandish request. 10/10 the world needs more Kyles.
