Gentle Mountain Man (Mount Heartstone Mountain Men Book 4) Reviews

This installment of the Mount Heartstone Mountain Men series focusing on Tori and Boone. Tori, a disenchanted artist, comes to Mount Hearthstone hoping to find inspiration in the local landscape. Boone, after spending a lifetime chasing a goal set down by his father, comes to realize that gold may not be the most valuable thing to find in life. These two manage to find each other and enjoy a quiet companionship. After a storm forces them to come to the aid of Brick and Risa (another Mount Heartstone couple), their feelings solidify and they start on their own romantic journey.

I will say I was not quite as thrilled with this book as I have been with the others in the series. The one issue I had was that I felt like the two characters were professing their love to each other in the exact same way (and very similar wording) in each of the last chapters. Then, out of left field, Tori says that she isn't sure Boone feels the same way about her! Like woman - you both were literally just professing your love to each other in the last chapter. Talk about whiplash! Not too much spice in this book - definitely leans more into the romantic aspect - but that is not a bad thing!

This was Boone and Tori’s story. Tori Smyth seeks solitude on Mount Heartstone to inspire her art, but she finds a muse in Boone Wild, a rugged gold panner with eyes that reflect the mountain's beauty. As they share close quarters during a gold-panning expedition, their connection deepens. It was an entertaining read. And am voluntarily leaving this review.
