I was expecting more practical recipes for everyday. I also found that it focused on vegan and vegetarian recipes which isn’t what I was looking for.

I have read many women health books and this one stands out for two main reasons: recipe quality and fasting information that is aligned with women’s hormonal system. She provided in-depth information about women’s hormonal system but it was not too wordy. I found her bullet points, charts and word pictures helpful to turn information turn into action for me. She worked with two chefs to curate recipes that applied her principles, such as fasting snacks, food to eat when breaking fast, and meals that can give you more energy and less unwanted symptoms. I earmarked dozens of her recipes and look forward to trying them out!

I have been following Dr. Pelz' Fast Like a Girl intermittent fasting plan for almost a year now, and have seen significant health benefits. I was gifted a copy of Eat Like a Girl and read it cover to cover the day it arrived. I'm not sure all the recipes will be right for me, but I appreciated Pelz' explanations of which foods are helpful during specific times and will be certainly be using the book to further customize my eating to best support good health.
