Does Life Get Any Easier When We Get Old? Reviews

Donna Bennet has unlocked the secret of life through the satirical and humorous approach to getting older in her book, Does Life Get Any Easier When We Get Old? We all must ask ourselves this universal question: is it a want or a need? This book captures the essence of traditions and concepts that have been around for years but have been somewhat forgotten in today’s world, such as having dinner at the dinner table with deep and enticing conversations with your family. Bennet showcases the actual value of these traditions and why they should live forever and never be forgotten.
I could not find anything to not love about this book. I loved it because it's a new perspective on growing older. If I could pinpoint, the crucial lesson taught me is to have an open mind and use your surroundings to help yourself rather than hinder your physical and mental growth. I especially loved Bennet’s statement on surrounding yourself with younger people. I've been told by the older generation that I will never understand certain concepts because I was young. It was so refreshing to read that Bennet believes there is something to learn from the younger generation, and she references Dorothy Law Nolte’s brilliant poem.
All ages can benefit from this engaging, insightful, and encouraging book. The book was written, edited, and structured excellently. The language and word use made the book warm, comforting, and exciting. Bennett is like the mentor I've never had. For these reasons, there is no doubt I am giving this book five stars.
