First off, Jessa Riot’s preface and warning both had me laughing. Great stuff! But the story quickly jumped into our lead and her internal struggles with her relationship, self-worth, traumas, uncertainties, and basically of her thoughts and emotions, as she spiraled out of control. Lots of symbolism and some, at times, overwhelming, but powerful concepts. The author really took her time with this and crafted a unique horror concept, which I applaud her for. It’s a very quick read, perhaps a bit too quick at times, but the lasting impact remains. A good experience to open up my Friday morning. TGIF!

This one was not easy for being so short. This story is full of self-reflection, doubt and humility. I felt everything in my soul reading this. This one definitely had some hard moments that a woman does genuinely go through in this life. This was fiction but with traumatic moments when you decide to deep dive into yourself. I undoubtedly saw myself while reading this book. I can relate on so many levels and that is why I enjoyed this. I believe the bearing of a soul was put into this book. There is one moment in this book that "No more wire hangers" has a whole new meaning. If someone takes the time to read this a level of understanding will be there.

Sheesh. 😬 This is a dark, gore filled, rather manic, but also oddly reflective, very short read.
At times, it's like reading a horribly messed up fever dream that doesn't completely make sense. At other times, though, the FMCs' actions seem completely justified, even if they are brutal.
This read is NOT at all for the faint of heart. -

Writing style made it absolutely impossible for me to make any sense of what's happening. -
Good Morning, Dark Souls,
Let me just start by saying, wow. "Wow" doesn't even begin to cover the emotional rollercoaster that Jessa Riot's latest short story took me on. It's like she poured every ounce of her being into those pages, and let me tell you, I felt it all. Sure, there's gore—plenty of it—but beyond that, there's something profoundly healing about this story.
If you've ever felt like you were nothing more than a doormat for someone else, then trust me, this book is for you. It tackles heavy topics head-on, leaving no stone unturned. By the end, I was a mess, tears streaming down my face—but it was a cathartic kind of mess, one that I suspect many readers will experience.
This is storytelling at its finest, folks. Jessa Riot didn't hold back; she put her heart and soul into every word, and it shows.
I won't spoil the characters or the plot because, frankly, this book speaks for itself. It'll find its audience, and they'll love it.
As for me, well, I'm off to cry my eyes out some more.
Yours in madness

Amazing!!!
Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I know that I’m not alone in how I feel, what’s going on in my head or what I’m going through in life, but sometimes it really does feel like it.
You were able to put it all out there and on paper and it truly made me feel seen. Thank you. -

The writing style isn’t for me, it’s confusing and I’m struggling to understand what’s going on?
The writing is decent- was expecting it to be darker considering the tw and the warnings also quite meh and confusing in the plot department -
A short read but one that is filled with a lot of emotion and depraved ideas. From the warning in the very beginning, the story, and the playlist (you can find on Spotify btw, highly recommend) there is so much personality packed into the story. Our main character gives us quite the look at a hardcore mental break caused by a very extreme love/hate situationship and brings a lot of humor, gore, real emotions and thoughts and stomach turning yet creative scenes to go along with it. There is such a real and raw heaviness in the pages that I'm sure most people can really relate to and grasp. It feels very personal while still being a very dark, twisted, and entertaining horror story. 10/10 (:
