Knox Holland is in a jam. After an incredible first year on the pro motocross circuit, he should be on top of the world. Instead, his bad reputation has landed him without a team. He’s untouchable and desperate to turn it around.
Which is how he ends up at my gym asking me to train him. As a college gymnast with two Olympic medals to my name, I know a thing or two about the pressure to succeed. Last season I choked and then injured myself before I could show the world that I’m not a twenty-year-old has-been.
Focused on the future, I can’t afford to get distracted. But I recognize the desperation in Knox’s eyes, and I can’t say no to him, either.
It should have been an easy task, but nothing about Knox is easy. One minute we’re arguing, and the next I’m enjoying his shirtless handstands a little too much.
Falling for him would be a mistake…
Burnout is a sports romance with a cocky bad boy, spice, banter, and a happily ever after.

oh my god oh my god OH MY GOD
obviously from the moment i put in for this arc i knew it was going to be a banger, you quite literally cannot go wrong with every trope/microtrope this book has but good god THIS BOOK!!!!
knox had me from the prologue to the last page, he is quite possibly the sweetest asshole there ever was. avery was a ton of fun and i liked that she took zero shit from knox in the beginning when he was being a douche. i ate this the fuck up seriously
its so rare to see gymnastics series so that in itself made this book so unique and fun/fresh feeling, but pairing it with a sport like motocross and seeing how the two of them can actually be combined was so fucking cool to me!!
this book is very heavy on found family which i absolutely adored, i cannot wait to go back and read hen/janes book for their story and am very excited to see what the future holland brothers books will bring 🤩
im finding it so hard to convey just how great this book was but i have absolutely zero complaints about this one, it was a very refreshing read for me and i will be making going through RJs backlist a priority for sure 🥰 -
listened to this one and it was such a fun & quick audiobook!!
im not gonna lie tho.. the side characters stole the show. at one point i wasn’t even paying attention to the main couple. -
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Troupes:
- Tattooed bad boy MMC
- Decorated gymnast FMC
- Training together
- Banter
- Cute nicknames
- Motocross
- Doesn’t do relationships
Knox is the tattooed bad boy who just got dropped by his Motocross team for fighting with his teammate. Avery is a decorated gymnast (the Olympics!) who is coming back from a knee injury and scared she will never be the same. These two are complete opposites and it shows when Knox tries to get Avery to help with his training to improve his freestyle tricks. Needless to say, they don’t hit it off at first.
Knox comes off as this grumpy bad boy, but really he is dedicated to caring for his brothers since his mom’s death and their dad walking out. Avery appears to be the confident successful gymnast, but she is actually scared she will never be the same after her injury and worried her past success will look like a fluke. There was a great depth to both Knox and Avery that I loved. I feel like I learned so much about who they are and why they are the way they are though out this book.
I absolutely adored this book the overall story of Knox and Avery. They balance each other so well even when they are in denial. The plot and pace of the story was very well written. I loved all of the character development, even when I just wanted to yell at them for being stubborn idiots. The top tier banter, cute nicknames, and steamy romance only elevated the book even more. There were also some great side characters. Quinn and Hope had me cracking up. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Quotes:
“If I slipped off these gloves, would I feel how soaked you are for me?”
“Maybe I didn’t do a great job of showing you that I was already all yours, but I was.” “I still am.”
“I’d have you bent over my bike so fast you woulddn’t know which way was up.”
Rebecca is one of my automatic read authors and this book only further solidified that! Thank you to Rebecca and Valentine PR for my ARC. -
i enjoyed this one so much!!! loved having two sports that i almost never get to read about, it felt so fresh and fun. i had no idea going in that this was about one of the brothers from tempting the player so that was the best surprise! i love those characters and that family so much, so getting to see more of them was such a treat. i really enjoyed their relationship development and their mutual respect (eventually lol) for each others sports. just an all around fun time!!!

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would!
I wasn’t into it for the first 20% but it got a lot better after it.
I loved how it focused on found family, how the holland brothers took care of each other when they needed it. I do feel that the ending was kind of rushed, I need more of them.
It felt good to be back at valley u even when there weren’t that much appearances of the characters of the wallflowers series ( I have faith that that it’s going to happen in brogan’s book)

I loved this sports romance and how they have to train together. They definitely get off on the wrong foot and the heroine does not let the hero forget it. I loved the depth of their characters and how they were both going through so much. They eventually confide in each other and support each other and I LOVED that.
I listened to this one on audio and highly recommend reading this book that way!! So good!!! -
Thank you to Valentine PR and the author for providing a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
After an angry outburst, Knox is kicked off his racing team. His friends recommend he fill his time training for the next season. Avery, a collegiate and Olympic gymnastics star, might be just the person to coach him to a new racing team. The only complication? Knox is a dick, and Avery fucking hates him. Example A: “‘I’d rather douse myself in lighter fluid and set myself on fire than help you.’” 😛
Overall, I loved this enemies to lovers romance. The characters were mature and Knox’s brothers make for a rowdy bunch. I would love for this to expand into a ‘brothers’ series. Jenshak was clever in her writing abilities... can there be a third act breakup if they were never really together in the first place? 🧐 Tasteful and entertaining. I would recommend this to fans of The Bromance Book Club series.
Side note: Avery riding on the back of Knox’s bike in a dress gave me anxiety, though. ALWAYS WEAR PANTS, LADIES. Unfortunately road rash is a real thing. ⚠️ -
I LOVED THIS BOOK SOOOOOOO MUCH!!! I could not put it down! It’s definitely a book where you could easily lose track of time while you read.
Knox and Avery have the cutest relationship. He’s the bad boy motocross racer and she’s the nice gymnast that will do anything to help her friends.
When Knox gets dropped from this team, he goes to an old childhood friend to help him figure out what to do. He decided to join his friend into doing stunts and tricks with his bike instead of race. But, he is having some trouble with the tricks, so his friend sets him up with Avery to help him with his core so that he is able to do the tricks. Their relationship is rocky from the start, but the more they spend together, the more they realize that they actually start liking each other.

I would 100% recommend this book! -
Loved this book. It is cute and funny and sweet. Knox and Avery are both strong and independent and I love them together. Their banter was super fun and flirty. I loved Knox's family and Avery's friends. This was my first read by this author and now I'm going to have to go read more from them!

“I can’t tell if you two are going to kill each other or tear each other’s clothes off.”
“Definitely the first.”
Burnout was absolute perfection! We met Knox at the end of The Wallflower series and the fact that we are getting more of him and the Holland brothers, perfection. Avery is a new to us character, but she’s a gymnast at Valley U and all the Valley U athletes are my favorite fictional humans, so of course she was not an exception. In Burnout Avery is a gymnast getting back at it after healing from a recent injury. Knox is back to racing motocross after years away, but has some setbacks. These two start training together to get Knox a little… looser. I couldn’t resist, sorry. The tension between them is next level, but there’s also a sweetness and a respect that grows between them. I LOVED and adored their relationship and watching it grow from all the animosity to two people who were truly there for each other and made for each other. Obviously they were written that way, but there’s just something special when an author can make you believe in and root for people who sadly don’t exist and Knox and Avery are individuals and a couple that I would support fully.
If you love sports romances with found family, heart, and the “we’re keeping it casual” plot, then you will LOVE Burnout.

I absolutely love anything Rebecca writes and Burnout was no different. This was such a cute read. I loved the banter between Knox and Avery, it was the perfect amount of hate to love. Plus we get two sports that we don’t see enough of in romance books.
This story follows Avery and Knox. We met Knox in Tempting the Player and I am so glad Rebecca decided to give us Knox’s story. After being let go by his motor cross team because of an altercation with his teammate, Knox joins a freestyle motor-cross team. Knox struggles with the skill and techniques needed to perform these crazy stunts. His friend recommends that he train with a gymnast- Avery. What was only supposed to be a workout plan ends up developing into something a little more.
Knox is the grumpy sexy bad boy motocross racer but deep down he has a soft side. We all know how I feel about the grumps…He is so caring and attentive to his brothers since the death of their mom and their dad walking out.
Avery is a full of sass and a talented Olympian gymnast. She appears confident but in reality she is scared that she will never be the same after her injury.
These two had more in common than they originally thought. I loved their overall story and they balanced each other so well. The banter, angst, grumpy sunshine and bad boy x good girl vibes were perfection. Loved that they had their friendship first and then developed something more.
I cannot wait to continue the series. Thank you to Rebecca and Valentine for the eARC.

♾️⭐️ NO ONES TELLING ME THIS BOOK ISN’T A MASTERPIECE! TRY ME BITCH 🤺 Romance at its best, maybe I am the biggest opposites attract girly ever because this was everything I needed it to be. The banter & the way the relationship developed was top of the fucking notch. I could’ve finished it in one sitting I was that addicted. I already want to read it again. Knox & Avery forever and ever those my babies. I’m so excited to see where the series goes from here. My ass will be SEATED 🪑 vroom vroom off to find a man on a bike 🏍️

This book is so underrated and good! I loved this book! It was so fun and I loved that they're both athletes and had this hate to love, banter but slowly fall for each other but my god, this book was steamy and I cannot wait for the next one and I do see myself rereading it.

Knox Holland has followed his dreams of trying to be the best motocross rider the sport has seen in years, but then his career is suddenly sidetracked. He had a wonderful first year, and was a top contender when everything took a detour. After a bad year and being dropped by his racing team, he's struggling but determined to make a comeback. He only has a few months till the season starts back up, and wants to return stronger than ever. When his friend suggests he train with a gymnast he'll do anything to build up his strength and control. He's always up for a challenge, and is ready to put in the work and prove himself.
Avery Oliver is a dedicated college gymnast at Valley U with two Olympic medals. She's still battling an injury and needs to get out of her own head, but then she's presented with the perfect distraction when she's asked to workout with a hot, cocky, tattooed guy with a bad reputation. She's hesitant at first since they get off to a bad start. She finds him infuriating and they clash at every turn, but she can't tell him no. He's an extremely talented rider who wants another shot. He's stubborn, independent and doesn't like to ask for help. They are different, but she can also relate to him. They both love their sport and feel the pressure to succeed and be on top of their game. As she tries to help Knox new unfamiliar feelings make her feel on edge. Will she end up guarding her heart or falling for the bad boy?
Burnout by Rebecca Jenshak is a good girl/bad boy, opposites attract, college sports romance full of fantastic chemistry and fabulous banter. It’s a unique story about following your dreams. I’ve wanted more of Knox since we met him in the last Campus Wallflower book when his oldest brother Hendrick fell for Jane in Tempting the Player. I was so excited to get more of the Holland brothers and love their bond and the focus on family. I can’t get enough of this world, and hope we get more books about the other brothers. <333

✨A person could get lost in Knox's kisses. I do. I never want to stop.✨
Your honor, I love Knox Holland 🫠 and our prissy, sassy gymnast Avery of course 🤸🏼♀️ I loved this book so much. I have been stuck on gymnastics every since reading Off Balance Series, and this brought me right back in. I have never read about motocross, so this was a fun first for me. Knox and Avery were so easy to love. Their banter was top notch. I was swooning at one point, and Knox even had me tearing up when he gifted Avery a little special something. Plus on top of loving Knox, you get to love Knox brothers, and family. I can’t wait to read more about them!

(3.5 ⭐️) Inesperadamente, me gustó mucho. No sabía como iban a funcionar las cosas entre un motociclista y una gimnasta pero se consiguió. Estuvo CUTE. Es mi libro favorito de Rebecca, de momento.

Burnout was everything I hoped it would be and I loved this book! This is the first book in the Holland Brothers series which has me so excited. This is a sports romance (motocross hero and gymnast heroine) and the banter had me hooked immediately.
Knox Holland had an amazing first year of pro motocross, but because of his bad reputation he finds himself without a team! He’s pretty desperate and that’s how he ends up at the gym asking Avery, an Olympic gymnast, for help. Avery is a college gymnast who is dealing with her own sports problems. A two-time Olympic medalist, Avery ended up injured last season when she was trying to prove herself. Now she has a bad knee from her injury and a bad boy to train!
I love a bad boy hero who secretly isn’t a bad boy and has a good heart! Knox comes off grumpy and judgy at first but when you see how much he cares for and takes care of his brothers, you know there is a heart underneath there! He and Avery banter and argue and grow close to one another the longer they spend together. He gets to know more about her and is impressed with her sports highlights too. He calls her “Princess” and jokes about all the pink she wears and loves. And then the pink bike, ahhh! I liked the crossover moments with the Valley U world too: Jane from Tempting the Player makes appearances and is dating one of Knox’s brothers.
Rebecca Jenshak books are just so good on audio! This one is a duet narration by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon and it was the best experience hearing them become these characters. I had an audio ALC and I just highly recommend, all thoughts in this review are my own. -

📌“Kiss me, Knox.”
“You just can’t help but boss me around, can you? Luckily, what we want right now is the same.”
📌“I have the errant thought that she’s the only thing keeping me together right now.”
We’re back with the Holland brothers and nothing beats that. Okay, maybe there’s something better 👀: Being back with the Holland brothers WHILE listening to The Tortured Poets Department 😌
“Bad boy, I don’t need anybody’s help” Knox hit rock bottom. And the solution: asking “down on her luck, good girl” Avery for… help. 😏 The unlikely yet suitable pair had more in common than at first might have seemed. Who knew 😜 Me! I did! Because these two were pure 🔥 since the first time their paths crossed 😎
But the way their friendship blossomed and then bloomed into more, and how that more was… soon everything… goodness, I still have goosebumps thinking about it. I loved Hendrick but he can’t hold a candle to Knox 🫢
Avery and I also share the same birthday. I mean… how could she not be amazing… I mean, obviously 😉
Oh have I mentioned Knox has tattoos? No? My bad 😜
I wonder which one of the two is next 🧐 I’ve been wishing and hoping for both brothers to get their own books ever since I met them in the Campus Wallflowers 🥹 -
One thing about me is that I will literally read anything & everything Rebecca Jenshak writes! 🫶
After reading Tempting the Player, I was so happy to hear that each of the Holland brothers would be getting their own books 🤩 And I’ve rarely (if ever) read a sports romance with characters that do gymnastics or motocross sports, so it was beyond cool to read about!
I absolutely loved Avery & Knox and their dynamic together — not to mention, I was truly eating up their banter! It was like a refreshing twist on bad boy x good girl in a way, especially because I just really admired Avery’s strength and her ability to keep Knox on his toes! Neither of them saw the other coming in their lives, and I loved watching them open up with and fall for each other slowly but surely 💗
Anyways, I’m obsessed with Burnout like I am with all of Rebecca’s books! Avery & Knox’s story is a guaranteed good time. And I loved the easy and fun incorporation of the brothers & other side characters, so I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the series!
Thank you so much to Rebecca Jenshak for an ARC of this book 💌 -
I adored this book so muchhhh. Knox is a motocross racer who gets taken out by a teammate during a race and his temper has put a hault to his involvement with his team. Avery is an Olympic gymnast, who knows all too well what it’s like to have to sit on the sidelines, due to an injury. While Knox is itching to get back onto the track, he has time to kill, and a fellow rider suggests he train with Avery. They didn’t have the best first impression, but they were drawn to eachother from the start. This book made me feel ALL the feels. I laughed so hard so many times, teared up, swooned. All the feelsssss. Knox’s home life is not even close to perfect, he’s had to step up in more ways imaginable. The audiobook was fantastic, the duet narration was perfection. I can tell this book will stick with me for a longggg time. Highly recommend!!

This was my first read by this author and I loved it so much I will definitely looking forward to reading more in the future.
I was immediately drawn to this one simply because of the cute af cover, then I saw it was about a tattooed motocross racing MMC and I said SAY LESS…and ya’ll I ATE IT UP, not even an exaggeration…I devoured it. I thought it was a super cute and sweet, but also had some broken boy elements and gah that’s my weakness. The banter between Avery and Knox had me laughing out loud 90% of the time. I love them, I love this story and I loved all of the side characters! I cannot wait to read more about the Holland brothers. -
4.5⭐️
Love. Totally not surprised that Rebecca put out yet another cute, spicy and romantic sports romance. I love that it’s a new series, but still has ties to the Campus Wallflower series because Knox, our MMC, is the brother of Hendrick, the MMC in Tempting the Player. This was a motocross and gymnast, she trains him, romance and I ate it up. I can’t wait to see what else this series has in store! Additionally, Teddy Hamilton narrates the audiobook so you already know it’s gonna be a good one :) -
SO GOOD!! literally read this in a day i just couldn’t stop

This was my first read by Rebecca Jenshak and I cannot wait to binge her entire backlist now. I love this book! It is so cute, I was immediately hooked and invested in these characters. Avery is a gymnast (Olympic medalist) and Knox is a pro motocross rider, they are both trying to overcome obstacles in their respective sports. They meet through their friends who are dating, and Avery starts training with Knox. Their snarky banter started from the minute they met and I couldn’t get enough. Their was one scene specifically that had me blushing and that never happens to me 😳😂 I loved their tension and chemistry and realistic life issues. The side characters also brought so much into this story, I cannot wait for more Holland brother books!
🎧 I listened to the audiobook and WOW! First off, they had me at “read by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon”. I already knew it was going to be amazing. But the DUET narration 😍 I mean, it was perfection. Needless to say, I’m obsessed!

Burnout tells the story of Knox Holland, a motocross riders, and Avery Oliver, a gymnast. Their sports, and lives and experiences could not be more different, but fate made them meet and now it is up to them to build their future.
I enjoyed this book. Knox and Avery first impression of each orher isn't the best. He is pretty cocky and closed off, but Avery with her feisty and determined personality gets under his skin, it was interesting to see their relationship grow chapter after chapter. Their bantering is funny, and their physical chemistry is scalding hot, they are opposites that attract and complete each other.
I was a gymnast, never at high levels, but I love the sports and Rebecca Jenshak has perfectly written the atmosphere of the gymnastics competitions, and all the practice that need to become a great athlete. I've also appreciated the fear and the insecurity that make Avery real and relatable.
I like the Holland brothers so much I really hope to read more about them soon.Copy kindly provided by the Publisher/Author.

Avery and Knox took me right out of my book slump and had me instantly hooked in their push and pull game!
These two did not start off on the right foot but Avery’s understanding nature and kind heart kept her from kicking him where the sun don’t shine, although she really wanted to at times! Knox is a hard one. He’s a bad boy with a jaded heart who doesn’t let people in, but the gentleness of Avery shows him that not everyone is going to burn him.
I love that each interaction blossomed a friendship between the two. They were able to see who the other was at their core and this friendship and the attraction that they had always felt lead to more. This more though had parameters because forever isn’t what Knox does!
The heat in this book was stellar. It took a while but the angst was there and the build up was perfection. Their Chemistry could be felt and when they finally gave in…..perfection!
Getting to see some familiar faces had me feeling nostalgic and I cannot wait to see who is next because this series is already burning me up. A perfect spring read!
