    This is the first book I've read by Alainna MacPherson and I loved the intense action, instant connection, fantasy-mafia mashup of Whoops! I Married the Mafia. Everything about it from start to finish was great!

    I never in my wildest thoughts would have dreamed up this story, but the mix of the dark mafia world with the magic of the fae world absolutely worked! 

    "While she was probably learning about the preferred diets of unicorns and gryphons, I was learning how to dispose of a body without leaving a trace."

    Hawk and Ailis had chemistry from the beginning and their intense connection never waned. It was electric at first sight and just grew in intensity as the story went along, and then it got extra interesting when Hawks adoptive brother, Jorge, joined the mix. 😉 I don't want to say too much about him as he comes in more, in regards to the relationship aspect, towards the end of this book, but I have a feeling Jorge will become important in the next book.

    But back to the main characters--Hawk is deliciously intense, I mean he's a made man after all. Aside from his job, he just has this presence, this way that says...he'll take care of everything, and then when he says, "good girl"🥵 it's melt worthy. Get some extra panties you'll need them.

    As for Ailis she isn't new to the human world, as she's half human herself. However, she's in the Fae world getting ready to enter college when this marriage is thrust upon her. For such a young fae she's quite brave and resilient for everything she has to endure in the short time this story takes place. 

    This book ended on a cliffhanger and I'm really looking forward to the continuation of this book. I need answers to not only the cliffhanger, but also the quickly developing relationship. I really enjoyed this new-to-me-author and look forward to reading more of her.

    This story is amazing, but I am very confused about the contract. Also why is Ailis attracted to both Jorge and Hawk.... I need answers I think I am supposed to be confused about these things... but like I said I need answers!

    I love this book. I really liked how to intertwine faeries and mafia. It does end on a cliffy. I was a quick read. Cant wait doe book 2
