My old life seems so empty and pointless now that I've experienced the depth of feeling I didn't even realize I had inside me. It's terrifying and thrilling at the same time, but I can't walk away. I can't get enough of her; she's like an addiction I can't shake.
This book is about Ryder and Elle, two people who have totally different philosophies in life, different social spheres, different values and priorities about what's important. Elle is a political activist fighting against capitalism. Ryder is a self-made wealthy businessman who pretty much stands for everything she despises. But one thing is about to bring them together. An illegal street race where they get paired together and get ready to go on the ride of their lives.
When Ryder shows up at the race with his bike, all he's interested in is getting his next hit of adrenaline in his otherwise lackluster life. Lately, nothing seems to be giving him the rush and excitement he used to achieve. To his utter shock, his opponent bests him, someone who appears to be a young, lanky college kid. But they're not quite who they appear to be. And when their gazes collide for the first time, they are both breathless with an instant attraction that can only be doomed to crash and burn.
Elle is part of the activist group, "The 99". It's a hardcore anti-capitalist group that targets the rich-bankers, CEOs, and the socially elite. The 1% at the top of the economic scale who live in the lap of luxury while the rest struggle to make ends meet.
Elle's heart is hardened against the rich because she was raised in a wealthy family and was betrayed when she needed them the most. So she left home at 16 and the only person she will still associate with is her sister. She's very bitter and hurt over something that happened to her, so she keeps her friends minimal and her lovers a purely physical interaction. Feelings only cause disappointment and she's had more than enough of that.
As tough as she tries to come off as, she doesn't come off as a bitch. You see her vulnerable side through all her layers of piercings, tattoos, and eclectic fashion sense. I love that she's pretty badass-she's strong and opinionated and independent. She knows how to take care of herself. She's been doing it for quite a while and hasn't had a problem. That is, until Ryder steps in.
Ever since he met Elle, he can't seem to shake her from his mind. Usually he's not interested in pursuing a woman-they come to him. But her attitude that she throws at him and her fire that burns draws him like a moth to a flame. Suddenly, he's doing everything he can to win her trust and her time. And it doesn't come easily.
"I'm not your girl. I don't belong to anyone."
Slowly shaking my head, I lower my voice. "You. Are. Mine. If you want it or not." The red hot fire flashing in her eyes betrays her intention of laying into me, and I tell her, "And I am yours, beautiful. You know that, don't you?"
He finally breaks her down and she agrees to give him a shot. As much as she wants to deny it, they have something special and she can't ignore her feelings anymore.
Whatever I've been trying to tell myself-deny to myself-this man has gotten under my skin. I'm already in deep, way past the point of no return. In the Hamptons, he's talked to me about making choices, but only now it's become crystal clear to me. I choose him.
Unfortunately, he feels the need to take control. He's very confident and used to having things his way and she's...the same. She doesn't take well to him trying to boss her around, and manage her life despite his good intentions. Mostly, he's just concerned about her safety anytime he steps in and makes a grand gesture, but that doesn't sit well with her. As drawn to each other as they are, and as deep as the attraction goes, can they work through all their differences and obstacles and build a future together? There's a lot of stubbornness, and their strong wills clash, but in the end, they finally earn each other's trust and faith.
Was this story perfect? No. The editing could've used a little work and it was a little rough around the edges, but it caught and more importantly held my interest throughout the book. I loved their interesting differences and how they worked through them. He taught her to unbend and not judge all the wealthy by her family's mistakes. And he was there for her and supported her when he found out what happened to her in her past. He was definitely a great alpha Hero that also has a sweet side. And I really enjoyed their interactions and bantering-they were great together. It was a great fast read, and a pleasant surprise. -
ENOUGH. -
This was really good I really enjoyed it. I liked the whole opposites attract. She - Very liberal, anti-capitalism, tattoos, piercings different color hair. He - Mr. Capitalist, wears a suit and tie and his appearance looks like he's on the cover of GQ. But they share a love of motorbikes. And he's not just some guy who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth quite the opposite actually. I loved how kind and sweet Ryder was and that he could help Elle heal. This isn't a steamy as I usually like but there were parts that were quite hot!! Check it out!

Feelings or not, there is no way in hell Elle will ever get involved with a guy, especially not one as rich, cocky, and gorgeous as Ryder.
But what will she do when he offers her a challenge that will change her life? -
A real hit for me.....
Both consumed with undeniable palpable desire for each other, Ryder and Elle are one beautiful dynamic couple. Yet they are as complicated with two strong opposite personality. Though Ryder has good intentions at heart where Elle is concerned, too confident and used to getting his ways, he tends to boss Elle around.
Elle, strong, independent, highly opinionated and has a bad-kick-ass attitude, also has a lot of well hidden angst that had her mistrusting people including and especially Ryder. At one time they were broken up, Elle had the gall to get really angry at Ryder when she found out he was about to go out on a bike race when he promised her he wouldn't. The fact that she went out on her own promise to Ryder to be strong and not give up when the going gets tough, yet that's exactly what Elle did without giving him a chance to defend himself. I do really like Elle, she's smart and knows how to take care of herself but she has load of baggage, so full of angst she comes out wishy washy at times that's a bit annoying.
I love Ryder, an extraordinary man who goes out of his way to help those who are in desperate needs, he does it anonymously, just happy to know he made a difference. When he loves, he loved fiercely and knows no bounds. Hearing his pov, his overwhelming desire for Elle, fear she doesn't return the sentiment really touched my heart. There was one sweet moment out on a date with her, where he kept coming up with different ideas and excuses just to prolong the time, because he didn't want their time together to end. What a sweet guy he just melts my heart into a puddle of goo! I love this man for the man that he is...fierce, protective, loving, has a high integrity and a great sense of right and wrong. It certainly doesn't hurt either that he's super sexy and oozes with sex appeal, devastatingly handsome and a billionaire to boot! ( and I claim he's mine! I wish! ^:~ )
Read this, don't miss out on such a hot, sexy and an inspiring love story, I really wish their story continues on. -
I really enjoyed the setting for this book and the plot, but I just did not feel connected to them. There was no appeal for me... Just didn't click, I guess...
