Down in the bayou, folklore runs deep as its muddy waters. Detached from herself and most things that make the average human tick, Camille will soon be woven in the tapestry of legends looming amongst the cypress knees, deadly wildlife, and magic found in the simmering swamplands of Louisiana.

After a brief and chance encounter with Dawn, a diminutive and alluring woman at a swinger’s party, she finds herself journeying into territory.....feelings.

Dawn’s presence soon forces Camille to face disturbing and twisted recollections of her past thrusting themselves into her present scope. With guidance from Jacinta, lifelong friend, and VooDoo Priestess, Camille makes a promise, resulting in a decision requiring flawless execution and a bit of help from the other side.

“Swamp Spice” is a dark, bizarre, hard-hitting tale exploring one man’s stomach-turning sexual proclivities and an obsessive love awkwardly built between two women who rise in power as a whole. Sex, splatter, and magic burn the pages of this vile, yet beautiful sapphic love story. Inspired by a wealth of stories and Cajun culture, amped up in all extremes, whatever you may be expecting, you won’t find it here.

****WARNING****
This book contains extremely graphic violent & sexual acts against people and animals.

I fell in love with the internal monologue here with our lead, Camille. The author really opened up strong and gave us this great trip into her psyche throughout the entire book. And, with all of Camille’s difficulties, strange circumstances, and very passive disposition, her character brought me right into the story. Now the warnings put on this book are very appropriate, as there are some extremely deviant sexual situations, some involving fecal matter, urine, pigs, self-harm, etc. Not for the squeamish. The writing definitely reminded me of a play, which isn’t a bad thing. Jessa Riot used her words wisely and painted a very vivid picture of what she intended the reader to experience, most notably the atmosphere. Some may argue that the amount of sexual content was overdone, but with someone so impulsive and sensory-seeking as Camille, it actually all worked very well for her character. It’s very stylish and unique, with the author hitting her goal of creating something that honors the strangeness down in the bayou, while also offering some truly cringeworthy and thought-provoking moments. Well done, Jessa Riot!

Good morning lovers of the macabre

Swamp spice or as I have been calling it swamp girls by Jessa Riot. Where do I begin? CHECK YOURSELF BEFORE READING THIS BOOK!!!! It is not for the faint of heart, it deals with A LOT of things and I nor Jessa will be held liable for your mental health. That being said. I do love a good revenge story and boy was this one of the more crazy revenge stories I have ever read.

Jessa did an excellent job of bringing out the Louisiana vibe and I felt like I was right there along with the characters. Now let me tell you about them characters. Dawn - sweet submissive Dawn, her growth and strength was amazing, from being meek and mild to being a wonderful strong woman who took back her life was amazing to read. Camille – Strong crazy Camillie, her dedication to Dawn was inspiring and truly showed that love has no bounds. The things this girl does unimaginable. But I was here for it!!!!! Jay – Ugh Jay is disgusting and got what he deserved, that is all.

The mystery and voodoo had me hooked along with the setting. Side note – DO NOT TRY ANY OF THE THINGS THEY DO IN THE BOOK!!!! I will never look at Tabasco sauce the same again. It was interesting though.

Anyway, read the book or don’t, I am not your mother! I did enjoy it a lot.
Off I go into the pages to lose my mind and find my soul.
    Yours in madness

In my humble opinion, Jessa Riot is doing something really cool and unique. Her background in theater lends to such a beautiful and flowing writing style that just catches me by the throat and leads me to places I never imagined I'd go willingly.

This one in particular really gave me a lot I had been searching for. Cajun country, folklore, voodoo, female dominant Mc, and sadistic revenge.

This is extreme. EXTREME extreme. And so very smutty.

We all have preferences and preconceived notions, but I challenge any extreme horror reader to give this a real shot. You may be so very surprised.

P.S. I don't judge any of you for liking what you like. That being said, if anybody is looking for something different from the common female victim trope, you've found it!
