DNF. I didn't really get very far into this. She is trying to fool a guy she has known for years with different color eyes, different hair color/style and fake boobs. And he falls for it. I found that unbelievable and skipped on to the next book.

This just popped up on Bookbub today and reminded me. I read this a couple of years ago when, wide-eyed, I read my first few bdsm books. I hated this one. Nikki Sex, gotta love the name, has some fun books that are ridiculously OTT in terms of sexual romps (the Andre Chevalier series), but this is not one of them.

When you have a heroine so desperate for a man, yes it is a specific man, as to get a breast enlargement and total transformation it makes me seriously uncomfortable. Whether it's true love or BDSM's exchange of power, blah blah blah, why does the woman have to physically and emotionally change so much? Makes me long for the old days when just changing your shampoo was enough. Taking this way too seriously, I know, but we haven't come a long way, baby.

In fairness to the author, no rating, but no bueno for me.

Fate, by Nikki Sex was a wonderful book.

In my experience, there are two types of erotica. Both types, like all books out there, vary greatly in their quality.

The first type of erotica is most common. It's what I call "smut." It's pure sex without much of a story. I'm not knocking it. I've read my share.

The second type of erotica has a real story, with elements of romance. It can also have elements of suspense, humor, SciFi, paranormal, etc. It just has detailed, graphic sex scenes. This kind of erotica, IMHO, is not just "smut," it has substance.

Nikki Sex is the best of the 2nd variety. Her books are truly wonderful. Fate is a great book, even looking past the sex. However, luckily for the readers, the sex is integral to the story & it's simply amazing.

I loved Fate. It was written with deep emotion, wit and intelligence. I laughed, gasped, panted, sighed & fell in love. The characters were three dimensional and easy to relate to. I genuinely cared about them and understood them. I loved the emotional, ethical and psychological aspects of this book. I understood why the characters did what they did & how things happened to change them.

One of my all time favorite fictional characters was in this book. Thankfully, Andre's been in many of Nikki Sex's books. I LOVE him. His wisdom and advice has helped me, personally. He's helped me gain understanding and insight into myself and my relationships. Long live Andre! He's so wise, insightful, inspirational, hotter than hot and he's even funny, in his own way. I never want to lose him from my life.

As with other Nikki Sex books, I've benefited from reading it. Of course, I had hours of entertainment. However, I also got more. I thought about the characters, the story and so many of the insights and advice from Fate long after I finished reading. How many books can you say that about? How many smoking hot, fun to read books can you say that about!?

I cannot recommend this book strongly enough to open minded adults. It's well written, had humor, intelligence & heart. Plus, enough steam to cause spontaneous human combustion. Hats off to you, Nikki Sex! PLEASE keep writing!

Fate was a book that did not disappoint.

I loved Emily since she was willing to go for what she wants and that really is a great characteristic.

At first, the breast implants she had kind of disturbed me.

Not because I am disagreeing with people who has implants, it's just that when they have "certain plays" I cannot help but think

"Will her badoonka donks get deformed or will it pop?"

Paul. Well he was very arrogant at first, and the way he acted when he realized that Emily was Candy was really not cool.

But, towards the end he matured and became the leading man that I wanted him to be.

Overall, it was a great book for people who are in love with persons who can never love them back.

I do like this author so feel bad giving her a two star review but I just didn't enjoy this story. I'm not a fan of stories where the heroine changes her appearance but the guy doesn't guess who she is and in this case, Paul has known Emily/Candy for years so even though she LOOKS different, she surely didn't SOUND different or use different mannerisms?
That aside, after Paul and Candy's one night together they are then apart for quite a chunk of the book (communicating via email) but instantly Paul is in love with Candy. We know Emily/Candy has always loved Paul but I still never really sensed their connection and definitely not their love.
When Paul finds out who Candy really is I found his reaction very immature. He didn't do it for me at all.
The wonderful Andre features yet again and so he made up for the lack of male that Paul was in my opinion!
An OK read but not one of the authors best.

    I Highly Recommend This Book!
When I first started reading this book I didn't think I was going to like it.
    I was SO WRONG!
I gave it a 5 star even though there were a few (very few) editing problems. Really wish someone would properly edit these E-books! The only other problem was a few areas where the story got bound up in TMI. Some details can kill a story & make reading a book laborious. Thank goodness it only happened a few times, and got back to the real story relatively quickly.
The story itself was funny, sexy, romantic and exciting! Fast moving & kept you on your toes. There were instances where you really weren't sure where the story was going to go. I love that uncertainty. While there is always room for improvement, Nikki Sex did an awesome job!

I love how there is more than sex and BDSM to this novel. The author crafts an intricate tale with a complete backstory that will keep you hooked. Now don`t get me wrong, that`s all there and it`s hot as all get-up but it`s not the sum total of the novel. Nikki Sex brings it all together with her subtle yet powerful descriptions that paint this world for you. She had me so wrapped up in this story that I read it in a single sitting then wanted to read it again.

I definitely had fun getting to know the characters that Nikki Sex brings to life in the pages of this novel. Both main characters are fully developed individuals who are easy to relate to, or at least understand. I love the history between the characters and surrounding their interactions with one another (and with the supporting cast). I also quite enjoyed the supporting cast. They were developed in a manner that allowed the reader to get to know them without overpowering the main characters. Also, although not strictly part of a series, the recurrence of staple characters throughout her work definitely adds to the aura & mystique of her work. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing some of the characters from Nikki Sex`s past novels reappear, even if just in a cameo spot. I definitely squealed out lout at one character`s reappearance.

With this one, the author combines the realities of everyday life with family issues as well as some hot and steamy romance and BDSM. It`s the best of both worlds that would make a brilliant introduction to Nikki Sex`s work or just a plain fantastic read for those who`ve read her before.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Loved Emily and Paul's story! These are great characters, with a long history of friendship between them. Only, Emily has harbored a crush on Paul all these years without him knowing. He has always thought of her as a kid sister, since he's been friends with her older brother for years. Emily has always taken on the burdens of those around her, including her mother and Paul's father. She finally decides to take something for herself, by disguising herself and going after Paul. It's hard to imagine that he wouldn't have recognized her, but she did change her hair, eyes and her look. Not to mention, that she acted like 'Candy', and not herself. She was determined to get him in bed, for just one night, and she succeeded. It was very hot, and they had great chemistry. There were many times I was laughing due to her inner dialogue. What Emily didn't plan for was that Paul would want to continue seeing 'Candy'. That created a bigger web of lies for Emily to maintain. I was worried what his reaction would be when he found out the truth, and it does cause some heartbreak. There is a whole of family drama going on in the background of this story. Between her mother's depression and helping Paul's father run the store, Emily is pulled in all directions. I was rooting for her to get a HEA with Paul, because she sure deserved it. I am sucker for this type of plot, with the little sister falling for the best friend of her brother. It always leads to great chemistry and tension. Fate was loaded with it, and I loved it!

...Oh how I love love LOVE Nikki Sex books.

    She never disappoints. EVER!

I just loved the female lead in the book. Emily knows what she wants - and plans to get it. She goes to great lengths to finally have the man she's been in love with since she can remember. Truthfully, I can see myself in the h and I would go that far to get the guy I wanted.

The story unfolds in a very easy to read manner, the chemistry between the H and h is sizzling hot and the sex scenes are scorching hot.

I loved this book, just like everything else Nikki Sex writes. This one is definitely a beautifully written romance book.

We're lucky to have Andre back in this one, and even John Taylor and Kelly Flynn make an appearance. John Taylor is my number 1 man of Nikki's books! *swoon.

    I give this one a 4.5

Overall good romance, concept, characters, ending, and well almost everything!

This book really did focus on Fate. The plot focused on this woman Emily who's been in love with her brothers best friend for YEARS. She stages this plan to have him just once. Emily is certain she only needs to be with him once and her obsession with him will be over, but 'fate' has other plans.

I will not spoil because I don't like to do that, do y'all are just going to have to read it to find out Wht happens!

But let me just say, I really liked the ending because it made me laugh and I liked that a bit :D

As some people know, I do not like when books drag on and on even after I got what they were saying. When that happens I usually give those books a minimum of 2 or 3 stars. In this book Nikki Sex drags on a bit in some parts. But overall it was a good book, and the characters and plot helped me get over my pet peeve.

So I gave this book a 4.5 star!

This is a fast and enjoyable read! Nikki does it again with brilliantly done characters and story line. Who doesn't like a great love story and hot sexiness with a twist?
I thought it was great fun to watch Emily go get her man by changing into Candy. She was so good at it that Paul wanted her for longer than the one night stand she had planned for. After all, he refused her twice before as Emily, his best friends little sister. But he's wild for Candy! Now what's she gona do? She has loved Paul since childhood, this should be her dream come true, but what happens when he finds out who she really is? Oh what a tangled web......
I absolutely recommend this to adults who enjoy erotic romance with a side of humour.

  • Sophie "Beware Of The Reader"

    3,5 to 4 stars

If you love erotic books with some BDSM in it, you’ll love this story.

Emily has always been in love with Paul, her brother’s friend. But he’s never looked at her as a woman, only like a little sister. With a boyish figure, glasses, always in books and shy, she never drew male attention and certainly did not look like Paul’s usual one night stands: big boobs, sexy … whereas her nickname was little Rabbit!
Paul left home three years ago to travel and live of any kind of job he could find. His parents got divorced and he never contacted his father again. All he did was never good enough for his father anyway so why bother?
While Paul ran away, Emily has always been the responsible one. She had to forget her dreams to help her mother, crushed by her father’s flight.

Frankly, I found Paul was a coward and selfish while Emily had to shoulder the burden alone. ”While he’d left town and became a fugitive to responsibility, she’s stayed. When the two families broke up, and everything went to shit, Emily came home. She quit school to take care of her mother and she also took care of this father.”

Emily can’t forget Paul and decides to put him out of her system and have a one night stand with him. She’ll disguise herself as Candy, sexy bombshell. She’s had breast implants, wears a wig and colored contacts. Paul won’t recognize her.

Paul had always hanger issues but when he left, he discovered BDSM. It was a revelation. It taught him how to manage his uncontrollable temper. He could release his rage in a controlled way and give pleasure to others. He is an accomplished Dom and their night is unforgettable as Candy/Emily is a natural submissive. He’s had many submissive but he felt an instant connection with Candy. Paul has never wanted a relationship…until Candy. Already smitten, he wants to see her again, introduce her to the lifestyle. He wants to spank and whip her, give pain for greater pleasure.

Emily is conflicted. It was meant to be one night and she’ll never be able to maintain the pretense. She’ll lose her best friend as Paul hates liars. How will Emily sort this mess? And she’s rebuked by the idea of pain to gain pleasure. Frightened by what Paul intends to do to her, Emily will go to The Basement (see the “Bound” series) and ask for an experienced Dom to discover if she can withstand pain. Her Dom will be André Chevalier, famous and loved counselor of Nikki’s books.

I loved how André had his way with Paul, oooh the conniving rascal!

The erotic charge of the book was very high, the sex scenes really hot. I loved Emily, she has an inner strength and warmth, it would be very difficult not to love her. But I did not like Paul. He ”gets upset, refuses to discuss the problem, decides everybody’s bad except him and runs away.” He’ll improve by the end of the book but the characters I truly liked were Emily and André.
I’ve read several books written by Nikki and loved her other male characters (Grant, abused but caring and Father John, also abused but very protective of Kelly). Maybe I need some broken but protective and good hero? Maybe I need erotic but with some trauma to heal in my books?

Nonetheless, this book remains a great erotic read with an admirable heroine.

A long book and yet, I want MORE review Image1
This book did it for me on every level. If you like a really deep read with great characters and all of this revolving around a BDSM fetish, grab it now! Basically without giving away much of the plot I will tell you about Emily and her brilliant plan. Emily has always had a crush on her best friend. What goes on for many years is that Emily's parents and Paul's paretns are best friends. Paul's Dad owns a supermarket in their town, he is loaded, cheap, and nasty. So Emily makes a plan to just sleep with Paul once, as if!, then sorta get it out of her system. She is so clever! What she misses here is that once with him wont be enough. I knew it from the beginning myself! I was thinking Emily, doll face, seriously it isnt gonna cut it. I was so scared she was either going to crack, slip up or out and out get caught. When she has so much invested in him, her plan goes off. It isnt a spoiler here so I will say it was steaming off the pages. Paul (this is where the scorching occurs) is into dominating his girls.
    i love dominating

The next thing I adored about the book was Andre, the French dom. He was absolutely marvelous! I thought his character was going to go a different way, but it didnt. When he meets Emily, he does more than teach her the ropes! LOL that was funny ha? ropes? LOL

Anways, this was the education part of the story. In a very unprecedented way, the author shows the fundamentals of a dom and sub relationship. So if you need an educational book, this is for you! For BDSM books, well I say...
    best of the year

The story of a family in turmoil is here as a sub plot. It is a fascinating look at a seemingly average American household. The true colors of Emily and Paul's parents are revealed. Part of it was earth shattering for me. A super plot twist that I didnt see coming.

There you have it an educating, romantic, funny, and meaningful book. This being my first Nikki Sex book and now I plan to read them all!

  • Heather

I got more than I expected with this one. At first I didn't know if I would like it but after only a couple pages I loved it. Nikki Sex blew me away with this. Plus Andre Chevliar is in here as well. A few wonderful flogging scence with him. I can't wait until Andre finds the perfect woman for him and he is still able to help others, He just provided that special touch to this story.

Can you tell I'm a big Andre fan? Sorry to rave about him so much but honestly his is that special indrediant that not only makes something work but become great as well.

Paul and Emily aka Candy have be best friends for most of thier childhood. Emily has always had a crush on Paul but he sees her as nothing but a little sister. So taking matters into her own hands Emily becomes Candy, a new hairstyle, sluttier clothing, come-get-me-attitude, for one night with Paul. But one night isn't enough for either one but Emily can't tell Paul that she is Candy, that she lied to him. How do they make this work? Hmm well read and find out.

This is a must read for Nikki Sex fans.

I have to admit that writing reviews is very hard for me. I have a hard time expressing in writing how I feel about a book whether I liked it or not. I felt like I had to write something though because I really loved this book. I loved how the characters were human and made mistakes and did really stupid things. It was a nice change to see that in a book. I loved how Emily and Paul grew as individuals as the book went on and how they both had to work hard to make things right, instead of most books I have read where everything is just peachy 10 seconds later with no work done on either of the characters part. Oh and did I mention that they are FREAKIN hot together.. That scene in the restaurant with the cake was AMAZING! I don't have to say that pretty much everything that Ms. Sex writes is fantastic and I will read everything she writes! I am never disappointed!

  • Sue Stewart

I LOVED Emily and Paul! The premise for this story is very different from most I've read, so really added to the mystery of what would happen when all is revealed! It's fun and sensual and romantic and Hot, Hot, Hot! And it includes Andre Chevalier, the gentleman Master that I adore! If you're looking for a sexy, well written DOM delight - you will LOVE this story

  • Jennifer

Oh My Goodness, where to start.

I loved Paul and Emily/Candy's story. I loved, loved, loved their emails. And we got to see Kelly and Father John again. Meet a new hottie named Jai who I wouldn't mind seeing more of...hint, hint. And there was more Andre, man when is he gonna get his own book. Everyone chant with me...Andre, Andre, Andre. My only complaint was the ending...I wanted more.

  • Jules Batemen

She's done it again! No doubt about it. This book was awesome! The storyline flowed so nicely and with all the steam you can expect from Nikki. There wasn't a question about putting it down, you just can't.

*for those who love him, look out for the handsome Andre.......

  • Michele

You have done it again NIKKI!!! Your stories always pull me in and never let go! I really love this story about Emily and Paul! It was sweet, sexy and funny. I was so glad you were able to bring Andre back too. Well done, I always enjoy your books and I look forward to reading the next one! XO M

I'd heard good reports on this book and one-clicked without paying too much attention to the reviews, or what the author has written before, so I was surprised to find that once again I'd stumbled into the BDSM genre! However, I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this book.

The story centres around Emily and Paul, lifelong friends who both wanted different things from their relationship.

Paul thought of Emily as a little sister but Emily had, over time, developed strong romantic feelings for Paul and wanted so much more from him.

“The only way to banish temptation is to give in to it,"

After duping him into having sex with her, or rather Candy, Emily assumed that her hunger for him would dissipate and she could start to move on with her life. Wrong! Paul quickly became enamoured with Candy and wanted to spend more time with her. Candy, or Emily, though was due to return home to the town where they had grown up together.

“I’m going to make you come all night long.” “That works for me,” she said, choking off a bubble of laughter and wrapping her arms around his neck.

Candy and Paul corresponded via email and eventually Candy agreed to meet up with Paul once again only to have her plans thwarted by a family tragedy. Needless to say Paul returned home and soon found out who Candy really was.

The story continues with Paul and Emily trying to salvage a relationship out of the complications created by Emily and the problems faced by Paul with his own family life.

I need his desire. I need him to need me. To want me. And the thought of giving myself to him completely, of belonging to him, and pleasing him sexually, is the biggest turn-on of all.

The sex was, as you would expect from Nikki Sex, extremely hot. The kink was, yes, thank you very much, but overall the story was simply amazing and thoroughly enjoyable.

For those fans of Nikki Sex, Andre Chevalier makes an appearance or two in this story and I for one am heading off to read more about him!!!!

Emily Malone is quite obsessed with her childhood sweetheart, Paul

Jarman. Knowing he wouldn’t view her any other way than his “little rabbit”,

she comes up with a plan. Emily changes herself drastically, change of hair

color and length, colored contacts, oh and even breast augmentation.

Emily conveniently runs into Paul as Candy in Mexico and carries out her

plan. Will one night of pleasure be able to kick Emily’s obsession with Paul?

This was my first Nikki Sex book and I’ll say it was really good. The

sex scenes were definitely hot. The storyline had good direction and took

you for a ride. I especially liked how Nikki introduced the reader to The

Basement, a fetish club. I’m sure she did the homework on this topic since

I may never go to one in my life. Haha.

I found that each character had great development. Andre was

probably my favorite character because he’s the only that had it together

and was poised. There were moments when I would get upset with Paul

and his immaturity. Especially when he found out Candy was Emily, but I

hung in there. I realized it was just how his father is and poor guy doesn’t

    know any different.

I will be honest though, the beginning of the booked dragged a little

for me, I wasn’t sure I could finish it. So it did get better for me and I gladly

finished the book. I did like that this book was very informative on the

submissive/dom relationship. It was told differently than other BDSM books

I have read and I enjoyed it. BDSM readers will gladly add this book to their

collection. I give 4 smooches to Fate by Nikki Sex.
