Emeric Banes...the man that you are *sigh*🫠 THIS is what I mean when I say that I want to read about an obsessed man. Man's was a goner for Rionach the moment he laid his eyes on her and decided that she was his. He didn't just stop at that tho because *ding* *ding* *ding* that's right he made her his WIFE🤭 There were a lot of *ahem* questionable things that Emeric did that I would absolutely NOT tolerate irl but because he's a fictional man, my legs are suddenly divorced lolololol🥰 This was such a good read tbh (apart from a couple of grammatical and timeline mistakes which are totally negligible) and I'd totally recommend it if you like reading about strong heroines and obsessed heroes!!!

It had all the elements I usually enjoy, and some parts were genuinely great. However, I didn’t find myself constantly thinking about it or eager to finish it. I absolutely loved this book!!! I do believe Emeric is one of my favorite MMCs I’ve read in a while other than that one scene (if you read it then you know). I do believe Rio is a lot better off in her forced marriage than her family. If you love age gap, forced marriage, and an unhinged overprotective anti-hero then you will definitely love their story!!!

I’m confused as to how this book is on Goodreads considering it was a horrible read. This book deserves negative stars. What kind of horrible, trash do people read that this is almost a 5 star book on here. Let’s get this straight, the main male character r@pes and sexua1ly assaults the main female character and you all call it a “dark romance”. Having a brain was apparently wasted on the “author” and the readers of this “book”. Just because you can string words together doesn’t mean you should publish a book. Absolutely vile.

Black Wings & Stolen Things is book 3 in the Fractured Rhymes series. This is a dark forced marriage romance. These can be read as interconnected standalones, but I highly recommend reading them all as they are absolutely fantastic.

When I first read a little of this book in an anthology I knew Emeric Banes was going to be it for me, and boy he was. He's a complete sociopath, and does not grovel for anyone. He has his demons, and the only person who can help him is his bride to be Rionach Moran.
Rionach Moran, is the second born and a woman, and in her crumbling families reputation means nothing. All she's there for is to look pretty, be compliant and to have the next generation of Moran's. But she has a wild and fearless side, she likes to live life with a sense of danger and fear, and no one compares to what Emeric Banes makes her feel. She's an absolute spitfire, no doormats here. And I absolutely loved her. Forced to marry Emeric Banes because of her father and brothers mistake, you watch her go from Rionach Moran, to Rionach Banes, and it's glorious.
Together they are unstoppable. I loved how gentle Emeric could be with her, he wasn't afraid to tell her what life was like, within reason. He never hid anything about him and let her for the mostpart make decisions alongside him. Theor chemistry was everything and I very quickly fell in love with them as a couple.
My favorite parts were watching Emeric's guard dog Cerberus, a big scary Doberman fall in love with Rionach and become her dog. This was full of twists and turns, plenty of spice.

Wowsa. That ending! That whole book! It was absolutely thrilling and twisty and twisted and oh so hot. I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor at the cliffhanger though. While this story ends with a fairly beautiful bow, it's very clear this series has so much more to give and I'm not even sure who's story I want next.
I absolutely adored Emeric. I wasn't so sure about him reading Golden Wings, but even from the start of this book I was head over heels for him. The way he saw Rionach for who she was behind her mask before he even spoke to her pulled hard at my heartstrings. But then the way this unflinching, scary butt man caved for her every need had me in a puddle at his feet. One of my favorite morally charcoal men I've ever read.
Rionach was amazing. So strong and resilient and just a wonderful human underneath it all too. I was absolutely thrilled with how this story ended for her. I loved where she was left with her family, with Emeric, and with herself too. She deserved the world and Emeric got it for her.
I'm so excited for whatever's next. I want Callan's, Nova's, Ledger's and so many more stories and I can't wait to see where Kayleigh takes us in this world. -

When I started this book I didn't really excepted to be perfect , I thought it would be a normal marriage to convince's book , but gosh! I'm obsessed.

I heard a lot about this book but I honestly enjoyed "Butterflies and vicious lies" more. I was a bit disappointed in Emeric (MMC) when he acted like any other mafia men, whom he hated most. I won't disclose what that was since I don't want to spoil it for you. Though, I like how he didn't hide mafia related things from the FMC and discussed and listened to what she has to say. I wished he would have trained FMC in self-defence moves.

Emeric MF Banes! There's more to this man, but all you need to know is that his mouth, his hands, and his schlong are the best part of the book. (Okay, there're other good things, too, but Emeric steals all your attention).
One look was all it took for Emeric to want Rionach, and he moved all the pieces to make it happen, like forcing Rionach to marry him or they'd be consequences and nailing her father to a cross at a church, so he could marry them.
Unhinged and protective and possessive and alpahole is what Emeric is when it comes to Rio. He'll do ANYTHING to keep her; morals don't exist in his world. The way he caved for her had me melting!

Rionach has lived life in the shadows, but it's there that she finds freedom to be reckless, fearless and resilient, even more so when it comes to Emeric. The beginning was rlly intriguing and i thought this could be a different mafia book, but turns out its just another mediocre copy paste mafia book 🙄
The FMC became what she didn’t want to: a housewife and a mother 😐
The first half of the book was also rlly slow paced and in the second she got kidnapped multiple times 💀 There was no balance. -

Dear lord, I will have all the babies he wants. And I am not above begging. This man ticked every damn box and then some. Daddy Astor was delicious but his little brother Emeric will destroy your panties and leave you wetter than Niagara falls.
The cage and the church scenes will forever live rent free. Kayleigh spoils us! The woods surrounding the cabin. Im not sure id run from this man. Id stand there, remove my clothes, get down on my knees and beg him to ravish me.
I love love love a FMC that gives just as good as the MC. Rionach was feisty, strong willed, stubborn. She really was undoubtably the other half of Emerics soul. The way he drew the real Rio out. Poured fuel on her flames and encouraged her growth 😮💨 when he loves he doesn’t do it in any small ways. He shouted it from the rooftops, he growled it viciously, he made sure everyone knew what was his.
This is written so beautifully. Every detail meant something. The twists had my mind reeling. My heart was in my throat. The way everything tied together. Im in awe.
Cerberus. Gah. Loved him. Nova - I want more from this viking. Ophelias story (praying for this) and the ending. That ending. Nope. Not okay.

This may have just re sparked my love for dark romance books after not reading one since last year.
I absolutely loved these two characters, I love how our fmc didn’t try change how fucked up the mmc was and we saw him stay true to himself throughout and was unapologetically himself. I LOVED Rio I thought she was so interesting and she’s definitely one of my favourite fmcs I’ve read about this year, also if you tell me a book has a dog in I’ll read it no hesitation and the scenes in this book are my reason why.
I absolutely can’t wait for more books in this series!
