French billionaire Marcel Mercier loves women. And there's a string of broken hearts across two continents to prove it. But as CEO of Mercier Shipping, he's got more important things to worry about . . . like why the charter company he just purchased in the United States is suddenly the center of an international media firestorm.

Now that big, bad Mercier Shipping owns Captain Dani Lloyd's ship, she's sure her job is at stake. But she won't go down without a fight—even if it means chaining herself to the mast of the Esther Reed and refusing to set foot on shore.

The delectable captain and her newsworthy dramatics are a PR nightmare, but Marcel is happy to let Dani prove her skills on a weeklong sail to Boston. He knows no woman can resist him for that long . . . in fact, he's counting on it.

But Marcel's plan to seduce Dani backfires as sparks fly between the billionaire playboy and the passionate captain. Which leaves Marcel realizing that winning her heart is a challenge he can't afford to lose.

Kiss Me, Captain (French Kiss, #2) Reviews

Marcel Mercier is far from the perfect hero. He's a womanizer, self-centered and a pampered rich-boy who is used to always getting his way. Before meeting Dani, he thought it would be a piece of cake to seduce her out of her job and off of his boat, saving his company from a PR nightmare. What he hadn't counted on was a woman who couldn't care less about his bank account and whose resistance didn't melt at the sound of his French accent.

I'm so glad that the author chose to make the heroine the Captain, as it's not something you usually come across in Romance novels. Nor do you usually find a glimpse into female employment and treatment in male dominated fields and the prejudices women in positions of power often face. I loved that Dani was such a strong woman, who knew what mattered most to her and was willing to put her career and her reputation on the line to stand up for it and protect the ship's future.

As a couple, these two throw off lots of sparks. They start off on opposing sides of the battlefield, Dani trying to prove her worth and keep her position as Captain, and Marcel trying to make it to Boston by his deadline while seducing Dani out of her ship. Somehow along the way, they grow to love each other more than they care about getting their own way.

The highlight of this book for me is definitely Marcel's bilingually dirty mouth. It's just fantastic and keeps a vein of heat running throughout the entire novel. The man can make you melt in French and English and some of things he says...damn! Once the seduction begins, you just can't wait for these two to finally get together and all of that push and pull leading up to it just makes the wait all that much better. Marcel's tender side also comes out throughout the book and you know that what he's feeling for Dani is much more than mere lust.

So, if you're looking for a determined, head-strong heroine and a book boyfriend who makes being bad sound so good. pick up Kiss Me, Captain by Gwen Jones.

    What I'm Reading

All right, I got a chance to read Kiss Me, Captain. I have to say that I liked it. I mean isn't there to like. First off, you have a billionaire who just knows what to say to women. Okay, he might be a bit of a womanizer, come on he had two failed marriages. I guess he could live like a monk, but thats not going to happen. Anyway, we also have a woman captain of a ship, Danielle, who has to prove that she can be just as good as a man when sailing the open waters. Not an easy task.

So, Dani is trying to keep her job, but she goes about it the wrong way and she attracts the attention of Marcel. Now Marcel is dealing with this nightmare of the situation when an opportunity arises to dispose of the situation. Now he's pretty much going to do a dastardly thing and seduce Dani to force her to leave the company without any problems. Sounds like a simple. Yes, we know that it isn't always that simple.

Danielle, is stubborn girl. I like that she loves what she does. I mean being a captain of a ship isn't always easy, especially when you are a woman. I love her spirit, but it does get her into trouble. Now Marcel *head shake* knows how to play to his strength. He's handsome attractive french guy, who will try to takedown Danielle at any cost. However, he never takes into the account that he might fall for the girl. At the beginning of the book, he's a true bastard only looking out for numero uno, but of course that changes over the course of time. You kind of feel bad for Danielle for what's going to happen, but not enough cause she does have a strong will.

Overall, Kiss Me, Captain is a pretty good read with some a billionaire playboy who is out for himself and a captain who is a bit stubborn. I like the chemistry between the two of them and I like the fact that Danielle tries to resist Marcel's charm. So, if you are looking for a high seas adventure with über sexy frenchman and a captain who will fight for her place, you might give Kiss Me, Captain a go.

KISS ME, CAPTAIN by Gwen Jones is my first book by Ms. Jones, it won't be my last. I enjoyed the premise, I do admit there were moments I felt like I was missing something, that may be because this is book 2 in the French Kiss series. I loved Dani, however I did feel at times that maybe she was over her head. Marcel is a strong character and he came across a bit rough to me at times, but I still loved him. I adore Alpha heroes. KISS ME, CAPTAIN is a fun engaging read. There are cute moments mixed in with more intense moments. I will be reading more of Gwen Jones' writing after this one. Fans of great characters with fun settings (a ship) will find KISS ME, CAPTAIN a great read.

‘Somehow they had crossed an invisible line, and it was going to be very hard for either of them to go back. But they had to–he was still her boss after all.’

Kiss Me, Captain is a contemporary romance set on a historical ship with one strong & sassy heroine, and one billionaire playboy hero who never saw love coming until it was too late.

Book two in the French Kiss trilogy was all about Marcel Mercier and his adventures on the sea and in love. It’s not necessary to have read book one, Wanted: Wife, to understand this story.
