“There is no doubt in my mind that four days of rain has never been so sexy.”
“After reading Succession of Rain I have a mind to head to Hertfordshire and rent a cozy little cottage during the rainy season. I can only hope that my dreams are half as sexy as Mr. Darcy’s.”
Have you ever wondered what Mr. Darcy was doing during the four days of incessant rain leading up to the Netherfield ball?
In Succession of Rain Ayr Bray has answered your musings.
Succession of Rain begins the day Mr. Bingley and his sisters offer personal invitations to the local families for their ball at Netherfield. Mr. Darcy, still upset from his encounter with Mr. Wickham on the streets of Meryton, stays behind, allowing his disposition to become dark and foreboding.
For four days Darcy is left to the wanderings of his mind and his passion-filled dreams of Elizabeth Bennet.
By the night of the Netherfield ball he has indulged in her womanly pleasures more than once in his dreams, and he is now determined to dance with her.
Will the night end with Elizabeth continuing to plague his dreams, or will he push her from his mind forever?
Succession of Rain is a stand-alone short story for mature readers.

Waking dreams part 3
This third part starts out with all the rain that keeps everyone indoors prior to the Netherfield Ball. Is definitely quite an insight into Darcy's mind. My only problem is that this is starting to feel tedious and drawn out and were not even half way through! Plus there is only one book left, I can only surmise that the rest of the books are still forth coming.
I'm still enjoying this snippet into Darcy's mind. -
Succession of Rain
Another story where Darcy's imagination takes hold of him. This story's visions take place during the four days of rain before Bingley's ball at Netherfield. Darcy's dreams are getting rather provocative, and he is convinced they are real. One day has him riding out. Racing fast and hard, Darcy on his horse almost knock Elizabeth down. Scared, Darcy's horse rears, and he falls to the ground. Darcy is dizzy from the fall and both Netherfield and Longbourn are too far to walk with Darcy's dizziness. She takes him to her father's fishing shack to wait out the storm. He analyzes his dream and finds that he wants to change the outcome. The next night's dream is similar to the last one only he changes the way he acts. This dream has a favorable outcome. Then comes the Netherfield dance. Darcy does dance with Elizabeth, but they argue about Wickham, is approached by Collins, he is disgusted with the behavior of the Bennets, excluding Jane and Elizabeth. Enters the library convincing himself that he must forget Elizabeth. Quickly read. Almost too short to even be considered a novella. -
Lovely retelling. Will post a review soon!
